Why didn't they have these when I was a kid? When my daughter broke her arm keeping her plaster splint wasn't easy, so I just searched amazon for a solution. Relatively easy to use and more durable than I expected. The package contains 2 but we kept refusing the first 1 until we thought it wouldn't keep the splint dry, we never used the second cover. My daughter got her splint removed 2 days ago and can get her arm wet again.

I bought one box of cast protectors for my 8 year old, who unfortunately broke her wrist a few weeks ago. This is really great for covering the short arm cast and keeping water out. She's been using it to run through the sprinkler and to go in the pool so that she's not stuck on a lounge chair all summer. Obviously, they're not for swimming under water, but they do a great job of keeping her cast dry. They are also good for protecting the cast in the bath. These really are great for kids. I'd say though that they might be snug for kids that are on the huskier side. But they work well for my average weight 8 year old girl.

I bought these for icing my shoulder after surgery because my physical therapist uses them. They work well if you return them to the freezer immediately. The only problem is that over time as they bend, they get little holes in the creases and the water leaks out. For the $$$ it's a good buy and I would recommend them for this use. I have been using them for 6 weeks already and had only a few leaky areas. They weren't designed for my purpose but make a great tool.

This is a great product, but the gel in the pockets will lose volume over time: We have used our cryopak blankets occasionally for minor injuries for several years. However, last night when we recently needed them, we discovered that each cell had lost 80-95% of its gel volume, making them worthless. (My guess is that the gel is water, alcohol, or some other evaporative-based liquid that slowly evaporates though the plastic sheet.)

Having said this, the cryopak blankets are an excellent product and work well for cooling. However, if you keep them in the freezer or in an emergency medical kit, be sure to check them for deterioration over time.

I have been using these for years. They are perfect for everyday lunchboxes because they can be wrapped around a water bottle and are bendable. Much better than those hard plastic freezer packs that don't conform to any shape and take up too much room. I cut them up into different sizes to fit the many different size coolers we use. They do start to lose their water after many uses, but are worth the money for the amount of use I get out of them.

These are not cheap bandages, but if you have issues with the bandage causing even more sores on your skin, or if you heal slowly, these are great. They come in different sizes, but I normally buy the larger ones. One thing that is nice about these is that they can be cut to size. If they have some overlap around the cut or sore it will allow your body to do the healing and will stay on as long as you want it too. They usually are applied and left on for multiple days, and if it's not healed put a new one on and it will heal. My only issue with these bandages are that they are expensive, but well worth it as far as I'm concerned.

The thing you are likely to use most is the nail clipper. But it is very blunt!!! And the special cover on the clipper makes cutting the nails impossible, unless baby's nail is very very long. If I wait until the nails are long enough to cut by this thing, my 3-month-old would have scratched his face and head. I end up buying a new baby nail clipper with a big handle and magnifying glass from nearby pharmacy. That worked much better.

I haven't needed to use 1/2 of the stuff in it yet but for the price I was expecting better quality. The case and the tools feel cheep and I can't get the cheep plastic smell out of any of the things in it. The bulb sucker thing is really stiff and hard to use, I had to buy another one. I have also used the dropper and clippers, they worked fine. I think you could probably save a lot of money by buying everything separate but I'm glad I got a full kit instead because I had no idea what I was going to need.

Finally, I've found a cheaper alternative to Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding (the purple stuff). I used this product to twist my wet hair after shampooing. After drying overnight, I removed the twists. The result was soft, bouncy, elongated curls without a greasy feel. I liked that my curls had bounce which is not the case when I use Miss Jessie's. My hair was super soft and did not have the greasy feel that I get from Miss Jessie's. The one drawback is that although it was very soft, my hair appeared a little dull on the second day. I'll need to work on finding a good moisturizer that is compatible with this product.

I also used and loved the Great Detangler in the same product line.

It has a nice fragrance, and a little goes quite a ways. I use after wetting my hair as the final step in my hair regimen.

It lasted almost 2 months between my daughter and I. This product worked great on my natural hair. I paid $8.00, and it's worth the money. A must for my curly/wavy hair, it doesn't weigh the hair down. It sets the curls in place, as well as moisturizes. I use it daily as part of my hair regimen. The product is white, so don't use a lot..massage into the hair well. I use it to lock my daughter's curls in place as well. A Keeper for me!

I received a sample of this at the natural hair show. tried it out the night before my birthday. i was taking a chance (because no one wants to look like a hot mess on their birthday) and used it in a bantu knot/twist. oh my word. the results were amazing. my curls came out so juicy and sexy and voluminous (i'm a volume fiend!) it was amazing. i was getting complements all day. the only thing i had a problem with was the hold. there was barely any in my case. maybe i used too much coconut oil underneath the product. it barely lasted to day 3 before i had to co-wash. either way i would definitely buy the full size. the only thing left to do is decide whether or not to by it here or scour the shelves for it.

also one discrepancy about the size. i would appreciate it if the full size was at least 8oz.

Picked this product up at my local Wal-Mart. The price was right, $8.00 and change.

I was a little worried because the product consistency is sticky and thick.

On freshly washed, conditioned and damp hair I two strand twisted over night.

The next day, my twist out was soft, well defined, bouncy but a little dull.

No need to slather on, a small amount goes a long way. In fact, sectioning the hair, THEN twisting is better way to go.

Mueller Jumpers Knee Support

When I was training for a marathon, I suffered from runner's knee and this helped me get through my training and the race. It worked and was cheap, so it was a great solution.

I gave it a 3 for two reasons:

-Sizing only available in one size fits all. I'm a smaller woman and it would have been nice to have different sizes. It fit fine, but there was a lot of excess to wrap around.

-Lacks plastic loop I've used the knee strap by Pro-Tec, which has a plastic loop and makes it easier to tighten the strap. The Mueller strap is only a strip, so you have to wrap it around to get it tight, no loop to get some leverage. This wasn't a deal breaker, but it wasn't as easy to use, especially if you are trying to tighten it while on a run.

Overall, I recommend it because of the cost. But the other features are nice if you are willing to pay a few extra bucks.

I found the Mueller Jumper's Knee Strap exactly as described. It goes around your knee, right below your kneecap over your patellar tendon. The velcro makes it easy to adjust and apply, and it puts just the right amount of pressure on the tendon. Simple.

I suspect this thing will work best for people that have knee problems where there is some tendonitis in their knee, and perhaps where the kneecap is going out of place (the strap pushes down on the tendon which seems like it would hold the kneecap down more firmly). Other helpful knee products I liked include Treat Your Own Knee Arthritis.

I cannot believe how well this works. I was extremely skeptical when purchasing but after using it I was completely amazed.

I was running between 3-6 miles 4 times a week and each time I would get a pain in my knee, right below the knee cap. Usually the pain would star around mile 2 or 3 and sometimes it would be too bad for me to finish the run. My friend told me to get one of these which I put off for about 3 months. I had been suffering from a pain right below my knee cap for months. I am 33 and play soccer 3-4 times a week. This stethoscope seems like the real deal. I can hear my toddler's heart beating through it, it's two sided, and the listeny part rotates with a click to adjust from one mode to another. But I'm not a health care professional, so I don't know if it's a great professional stethoscope. I do know it's one of my daughter's favorite toys! She was going through a phase where she was terrified of the doctor, and stethoscopes especially triggered her panic. I ordered this one for her. It was available in many colors; I chose lavender. We take it with us to the doctor, and she "listens" to him before he listens to her. I'm not sure if it helped, but she did eventually get over her doctor fear. She also listens to the family cat and her stuffed animals. She's had it for about a year now (since she was 14 months old), and it's still in great shape. The price is reasonable and the vendor was responsive; when the first package didn't arrive, they promptly sent another.

if you lost your stethoscope and can not afford a new good one, this is an acceptable stethoscope. It is good for checking blood pressure and if you have some experience with listening to heart or lung sounds, it'll be ok. The price is cheap, however I do not recommend it for medical students who are going to start their clinic, you guys better to get a good one.

Iodine is a good disinfectant for cuts and open sores. But this particular product uses an applicator brush instead of the glass wand to do the job. I don't like that. The glass can be easily cleaned and dried, but I wouldn't know how to do that with a brush. It's like a thin nail polish brush. Bad idea!

Since I bought it primarily to check if I'm getting enough iodine in my diet, this isn't so much of a problem. But still painting iodine on a small patch of my skin, the bristles have to be picking up some of my dead skin cells and bringing them back to the bottle.

MDF Infant and Neonatal Stethoscope

I am a Peds Nurse and have had the opportunity to try quite a few stethoscopes. I bought this scope to stick in the car as a backup because it was so competitively priced (about $24). The higher priced MDF stethoscopes I have used have worked great, so I thought I would give this one a try. Wow, what a mistake. It was made of this rubber, toy-like material,and it felt like something one would find in a Toys-R-Us "Lets play Doctor" kit. Despite its toy-like hand feel, I gave it a try on a 9-lb, 2mo adjusted age infant c trach and vent. The breaths sound were barely audible, and the heart sounds were so muffled that I could barely distinguish s1 from s2 -no matter where I placed the scope. The bowel sounds were audible, but it was an infant, so what do you expect. I would only recommend this product as a toy. For serious work, this stethoscope is far from good enough to make a safe, high quality assessment.

Also ordered another somewhat simpler 4 person kit from the same manufacturer, so that my relative would have a kit in her car as well.

This kit, I was told by my relative, comes in fact in a rolling leather backpack! A detail which is not stated in the description of this item. And my relative was truly happy with that.

I've had a very pleasant and amazing experience with the manufacturer's customer service in regards to the other simpler 4 person kit I bought. And I am highly satisfied with both the kits and the customer service.

It may be more expensive, but it is worth the money. I highly recommend this kit and this manufacturer.
