Cryopak Mini Flexible 8.1 x 8.6-Inch Ice Blanket (Pack of 8)

I bought these for icing my shoulder after surgery because my physical therapist uses them. They work well if you return them to the freezer immediately. The only problem is that over time as they bend, they get little holes in the creases and the water leaks out. For the $$$ it's a good buy and I would recommend them for this use. I have been using them for 6 weeks already and had only a few leaky areas. They weren't designed for my purpose but make a great tool.

This is a great product, but the gel in the pockets will lose volume over time: We have used our cryopak blankets occasionally for minor injuries for several years. However, last night when we recently needed them, we discovered that each cell had lost 80-95% of its gel volume, making them worthless. (My guess is that the gel is water, alcohol, or some other evaporative-based liquid that slowly evaporates though the plastic sheet.)

Having said this, the cryopak blankets are an excellent product and work well for cooling. However, if you keep them in the freezer or in an emergency medical kit, be sure to check them for deterioration over time.

I thought these would stay cold and frozen for longer than ice. This is not the case. I am a flight attendant that carries my lunch and after just a few hours these were melted and my food was not kept cold

I have been using these for years. They are perfect for everyday lunchboxes because they can be wrapped around a water bottle and are bendable. Much better than those hard plastic freezer packs that don't conform to any shape and take up too much room. I cut them up into different sizes to fit the many different size coolers we use. They do start to lose their water after many uses, but are worth the money for the amount of use I get out of them.

This product is so useful. Takes up very little space in the cooler and keeps food cold for hrs. I also use it to kind of wrap soups,sauces or other dishes I've just taken off of stove and do not have time to let them cool down before putting in frig. I'll put one on the bottom of pan and one on top and maybe a couple on the sides. This to keep from warming up the frig.
