Imak Pil-O-Splint - Wrist - Adjustable

Imak Pil-O-Splint - Wrist - AdjustableI did not purchase this splint for carpal tunnel syndrome, but rather to help alleviate tendonitis in my fingers, which is made worse by my clenching my fists while I sleep (which apparently is quite common). It's OK, but not quite perfect for this use because it does not quite limit the range of motion of the fingers enough.

The splint runs along the back of the hand to the fingertips, but the material is quite stretchy, so unless you wrap it excessively tight the fingers can still move a good amount. Wrapping some support bandage around the end of the splint reduces this movement.

So overall I'm reasonably happy with it, but be warned if you're buying it to prevent clenching your fist at night.

Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages, Flexible Fabric, 30-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages, Flexible Fabric, 30-Count BoxesPurchased for general restocking of small bandages in cars, garage, bathrooms, etc. Product was shipped quickly, well packaged, contents in great condition, and the bandages were well below shelf-life (good adhesion, pad bright white (no discoloration), etc.).

Pros: Good product and shipping

Cons: None noted

Summary: Good value overall.

I much prefer the flexible fabric to the sheer strips that Band-Aid and other manufacturers offer. For whatever reason they seem to stick better, hold up longer and are more comfortable. This is a good price on them.

This is excellent price for quantity of excellent "Band-Aid" brand Flex. Fabric. bandages which in my opinion are the best on the market in durability and "sticking" ability.

I ordered knowing there were many more than I alone could use so had arranged to share with couple of neighbors who had done favors for me or helped me out in past as a show of my appreciation.

Moldex 6645 SparkPlugs® PlugStation. 500 Pairs per Dispenser

Moldex 6645 SparkPlugs® PlugStation. 500 Pairs per DispenserI thought from the description "2000 Per Cs" that I would get 2000 (1000 pair) of earplugs. I fully expected four smaller dispensers, which contained 500 each. I received a taller dispenser with 1000 (500 pair) earplugs.

The earplugs are great. The dispenser is great.

Prestige Medical 740-das Daisy - 5 Pocket Organizer

Prestige Medical 740-das Daisy - 5 Pocket OrganizerI am so pleased and impressed with my organizer! I have had many compliments too!!!! Thanks for your honesty and integrity .... great service!

These little pocket organizers are super for nurses. I love having everything all together. I get home from the hospital, take it out of my pocket and everything is in one place for when I need to leave for the hospital next. I keep scissors, clamps, alcohol pads, money for vending machines, pen & highlighter in it and then clip my PulseOx meter to it once done for the day. I never wonder where something is as I'm trying to rush out the door with my needed nursing tools. :O)

PhysiciansCare Individually Wrapped Moist Lens Cleaning Tissues, 100 count Box

PhysiciansCare Individually Wrapped Moist Lens Cleaning Tissues, 100 count BoxThey are lens wipes and they clean my lenses. Only thing that could have made these better was if they were cloth rather than treated paper. Hey they still work so I am not knocking them down. I plan to use every one that I ordered.

I received these wipes very quickly from the company and they are working great. The box is a dispenser as well. I have a box at work and another at home. I gave my mother a box and she likes them also. Just wipe them down and wait a moment then wipe once more to clear the glass up. Just like they are suppose to work. I do recommend.

ProFlex 347 Long Cap Honeycomb Gel Knee Pad, Black (2 pads per pack)

ProFlex 347 Long Cap Honeycomb Gel Knee Pad, BlackI use kneepads almost every day doing remodeling work and I was looking for a comfortable, stable kneepad to replace a discontinued Bucket Boss brand that had provided years of great service. I tried the best kneepads available at the local supply stores and they did not provide much protection and comfort and within a month my knees would be sore by the end of the day. When I got these kneepads I was concerned when I saw the sleeves and a lower strap to hold them in place. It would be too time consuming to get them on and off using the sleeves so I use just the lower strap with the thought they would not stay in place well. I've been very pleased with how well they stay in place and they have the stability, comfort, and protection that I was looking for at a reasonable price. They are very light and comfortable enough to have on all day. I am very pleased with them so far.

I am a handyman who spends at times 10-12 hours a day on my knees, installing flooring, and decks. I have tried four different brands of the most expensive knee pads available, and these, having a more durable and larger gel area within the kneepad, are by far are the best. Having gel throughout the majority of the interior, as apposed to only the knee cap was important to me. I suffer from Osgood-Schatter's Disease, from my childhood. This caused the top of my tibia to protrude out farther than my knee cap. Usually my "knooby knees" will grind a hole right through the padding or gel of a knee pad. This however is not the case with the Pro Flex 347. My only complaint is that I prefer the comfort of the wide strap, like the one on the Pro Flex 345. As far as my knees are concerned, I have never been happier. I will never wear anything else. Thank you.

Ordered these bck in March, been usin them now for jst about a month. i wrk as a merchant seaman, so im on my knees alot wrtk on a steel deck, and these things wrk great ! comfortable as they come, nice padding as well. i been wearing them for about 10-12 hours a day with shorts, and have had no problem with them. the velcro strap on the botton is a nice add feature, i dont use it much, but u can secure it to the front of the pad. bottom line i love them, great pads !

I thought the features of this product would make it superior. For examplethe Gel for comfort and the design of the front cover to provide stability. I found it was very easy to slide off sideways because the front cover height is so high and the Gel covering material is a low friction type. I tightened the straps as much as possible but the problem remained. I ended up using my old foam knee pads again. I still think these ProFlex knee pads could be a great product with a small amount of re-engineering.

I was about to give a 5 star rating for these knee pads, recommended it for my friends, but after 1 month using it, the gel moved and there is no protection at all. I install wood flooring and spent 8 hours per day on my knees, I bought these based on the good reviews, and I wish it had a good durability, unfortunately after just 1 month using it, I'm looking for a new pair of knee pads.

Microflex (MFXMK296M) MidKnight Black Powder-Free Nitrile Examination Gloves - Medium

Microflex MidKnight Black Powder-Free Nitrile Examination Gloves - MediumUsed these gloves to work on my car and they hold up pretty well. They are obviously susceptible to tear but they held up through an oil change, egr valve cleaning and ignition coil test. These are some tight spaces where one or two things caught but they didn't tear. They fit great for my hand size (medium) and can be used in all other instances. Recommended if you are working on a car and you need something more fitting than thick automotive gloves these are the glove of choice in my opinion

I was very pleased with them. I'm in an anatomy class and I needed to find a pair of gloves that would actually fit me. These gloves are much better quality wise then the ones you find in Walmart or something. I'd purchase them again.

These gloves are great! Sturdy, comfortable, and non-irritating. I have very sensitive skin and am prone to psoriasis/eczema, the powdered latex always causes my skin to break out in a rash but these are perfect! Can wear for at least an hour without irritation. There's nothing else to say...totally worth the money!

Outperforms the other products of a similar nature. I use them in the garage and when working on cars etc. In the kitchen it outlasts the thinner gloves and is easier to put on and take off.

MDF® Deluxe Sprague Rappaport X Stethoscope Color: Navy Blue

MDF® Deluxe Sprague Rappaport X Stethoscope Color: Navy BlueHere is the one-word summary of my review for this stethoscope: Outstanding!

If you look at my profile, you will see I've reviewed other steths before. I'm a nursing student who is obsessive about his stethoscope. I also happen to like the Sprague-Rappaport style steth which has unfortunately been the victim of cheap knock-offs that are sub-par in terms of sensitivity, fit and finish, and comfort. I know; I own one: Prestige Traditional Black Sprague Stethoscope. The price is right for a poor college student, and they work fine for BP's, etc. But I kept hearing how the Sprague-Rappaport style was the pinnicle of auscultation... heck, I just wanted one that didn't fall apart, was comfy to wear, blocked outside noises, and allowed me to hear bowel sounds, respiration sounds, and various cardiac shenanigans on my patients!

I know every one loves Littmann, and that's fine; They make an excellent lineup of steths and I own one myself Littmann 2141 Master Classic II Stethoscope, Black Edition; However, I like the non-tunable diaphragms and the concept of various attachments for my steth to make it more versatile.

But enough of my soapbox ranting. Here's why students (and I also feel nursing professionals) should give this steth (and MDF as a whole) a chance with their hard-earned money:

1) Sound quality. What good is a stethoscope if you cannot auscultate effectively with it? The difference between this and the Prestige is night and day! I can utilize both the bell and diaphragm on this steth and the pulsations from the pulmonic and aortic regions are full and have depth to them. I don't have to search for them, they are right there where the text and my teachers say they should be! And there is really a difference between the sounds obtained via the diaphragm and the bells, just as there should be!

2) Build quality. I'll be honest with everyone: I just got this steth today, so I do not know how long it will last in the trenches. But as soon as I opened the box and tried it out, I felt strongly enough to come here and tell you all about it: The dual head on this steth is much heavier and denser than the Prestige Sprague I own. It turns with a very positive, full-feeling 'click'. Very reassuring. There is also pressure in the ear tips when the bell is selected and removed from the patient's body quickly which signifies tight internal tolerances. My other steth didn't have that at all. (The head of the Prestige felt as though it were just floating on a pivot). The tubing (or lumen)of the MDF 767x is thick and has a high-quality glossiness to it. The pictures show it looking dull, but it is of high quality in feeling, looks, and sound. The retaining spring on the binaurals is coated in this same lumen PVC, so everything looks great and uniform. Even the attachments and attachment pouch are higher quality than the other Spragues I've seen. Though they are plastic, they FEEL denser, more durable. The whole set up comes in a foam-lined cardboard box, not a plastic container. Really classy presentation overall.

3) Comfort. If you've tried other Spragues, you know they can feel like something developed during the Spanish Inquisition. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM! The steth came with multiple sets of soft ear plugs that are very comfortable and do a great job of blocking extraneous noises. The other comfort issue with Spragues is their weight. While this steth feels substantial and heavier than other steths I've used, it doesn't feel like a mill stone around my neck. I could see wearing this for a twelve-hour shift, no problem.

4) X-configuration. The dual-tube/lumen Spragues traditionally created noise artifacts when the two tubes rubbed against one another. Trained ears can detect what is background noise and what is important, but we students don't have that benefit yet. This configuration has the two tubes intersecting, then splitting again at the earpieces. Extraneous noise from the lumen is gone, and auscultating (to this novice) is much easier. Plus the tubes don't get twisted up or kinked!

5) MDF stethoscopes have parts for life. I hope I do not have to take advantage of this, and I do NOT know what parts are covered, but if the company wants to hook me up with replacement parts, mores the better.

Conclusion:

I'm trying to be upfront with everyone about this stethoscope and my experience level. I don't represent MDF and I'm not a pro with years under his belt. I'm a rookie student who was hoping to find info on stethoscopes and decided to write reviews here as I tried them out. FWIW, this scope is incredible! I will watch this scope like my classmates watch their Littmanns :) I really recommend this steth for students for all of the reasons listed above plus the fact that it is so versatile (when considering attachments plus an included name tag). Lot's of bang for the buck here. Plus, with no tunable diaphragms, you can concentrate on what you need to hear, and not messing with changing diaphragm pressure on an uneven body, cachectic patient, or a very old person to get various sounds like with Littmann (again, not bagging Littmann, its just a preference thing). I had never heard of MDF and decided to take a chance. I'm thrilled I did, and I hope this write-up helps others make a decision. I will try to update this post as time goes on.

Cheers!

John

This stethoscope came in prestine condition and works wonderfully. It has extra pieces for long term use. I would recommend this to any student or professional.

The shipping was incredibly fast! Shipped from PA to CA, got it within a week of ordering and shipping was free! The stethoscope is good so far, haven't used it for long. I do notice some artifact when rubbing against tubing, but it's easily discernable from actual physiologic sounds. Not too heavy, easy to use. Mine is all black. I expected it to have some chrome/stainless like the bell and ear part but that's ok. Makes no difference. I had a cardiology 3 before but lost it. I don't notice that this one is any less in audible quality except for the artifact which i never had with card 3. Good purchase as it's like 1/3 the cost of card 3!

ProFlex 4020 Left Wrist Support, Gray, 2X-Large

ProFlex 4020 Left Wrist Support, Gray, 2X-LargeYears ago, I had a keyboard at work with a very heavy touch, and it was not long before I noticed I had the start of some sort of repetitive stress problem. I replaced my keyboard and mouse, and after a couple months of protecting myself with the Ergodyne Proflex Wrist Supports I was "back to normal." Well, a few months ago my problem flared up again and I needed some more for use at home. Fortunately, I found the same model that had worked well for me before here at an Amazon partner store. The new units have only changed in color (from light blue to gray) and work and feel the same. I am pleased with their performance.

My one piece of advice is to get them a little larger than you think your hand size may be. In other words, if you think you are "medium" but don't know for sure, you are probably safer getting the "large." In any event, the product is adjustable, so fit should not be an issue, although it is a little easier to adjust them "smaller" than "larger," which is another reason I recommend getting them a little large if you are in doubt.

The wrist support really helps me at work and when I'm outside of work. It is smaller and provides plenty of movement with my fingers while typing yet still gives support to my wrist. I feel that it is a good deal for the money. Well worth it.

I haven't had these long enough to see if they help my wrist pain longterm, but they do help them feel better in the short term. I like that they are comfortable to wear vs some other wrists supports that had a longer metal bar up into the palm of my hands. They also fit under gloves which is a great plus in the winter and when driving. I bought these because a friend recommended them to me and am so glad I did. My only question is why the right and left wrist supports didn't cost the same at Amazon; one was less than $8 while the other was over $10. Still, at under $20, they were a good buy.

It is OK for a light support.

But it is not for a serious support.

EMT Shear With Carabiner by Rescue Essentials

EMT Shear With Carabiner by Rescue EssentialsThe caribiner idea is a great one. I buy anything that is easy to just clip on and have it there handy when you need it. This is such a brilliant idea, but just very poorly done by this company. the shears themselves are ok, but the spring is crap, and the piece of plastic used for the clip part is flimsy junk. Such a shame. I hope they don't hold a patent or something, and maybe someone else will do this idea justice. Until then, stick to regular shears.

I really love the convenience of the clip on these shears, but I'm glad I don't need to use them in any scenario where I might be rough on them because the carabiner hinge is pretty flimsy and probably wouldn't last long.

The shears themselves work great; cutting thick rope is no hassle at all.

I purchased these because I kept losing my shears when wearing the 5:11 EMS shorts at work. The shorts provide no way to secure your shears other than putting them in a pocket which is uncomfortable. With these I'm able to put them in the slot on the right leg and clip them into the small D ring that comes on the shorts. Works great!

MDF® Classic CardiologyTM Stethoscope Color: Burgundy

MDF® Classic CardiologyTM Stethoscope Color: BurgundyThere other many cardiology scopes available and personal preference ultimately determines which one works best for the provider. I have used ADC, Littmann and now MDF brands. The ADC scope's tubing was too short for convenient use and the sounds from these scopes seemed distant or faint to me. The Littmann cardiology models all had " tune-able" diaphrams. To be honest, this took some getting used to but once that happened the scope was exceptional. I was unable to test the MFD because when it arrived the Binaural Assembly was broken. I do not intend to reorder a replacement because I didn't see anything that set it apart from my Littmann. MDF does make a very good Rappaport model that I always use when on the "street" and I do recommend that one as a very cost effective stethoscope.
