GREEN SoftPac (6 & 12 LPM) - LIFE-2-612GRN

GREEN SoftPac - LIFE-2-612GRNThis product is well made, performs as advertised, and arrived promptly... well before the expected delivery date. I have no complaints regarding the device itself. However (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5), I have been unable to find any supplier locally or in this general area of the state that will refill this cylinder without a doctor's prescription. The manufacturer's promotional statement "No prescription required" apparently applies only to the original purchase, and not to conventional refill regulations for medical Oxygen. This fact should have been made clear in the promotional literature.

I've noticed since this purchase that other manufacturers of similar equipment use the same "No prescription" statement to entice buyers.

First Aid Beauty Aloe Plus Soothing Gel-4 oz.

First Aid Beauty Aloe Plus Soothing Gel-4 oz.I am a grey-eyed red head with hypersensitive skin and this product is the BEST I have ever tried. I got too much sun at a baseball game where the heat index was 104+. My face was on fire. I put this on and in less than 5 minutes, the redness, the itching, the heat, the puffiness was GONE. I have never written a review for a product purchased online and usually do not put much account in the reviews that I do read. But this is the real deal. No perfume, no icky sticky feeling...just AHHHH! what a relief.

I bought this since I live at the beach and get very dry in the summer (and sometimes sunburned). It is OK...I do use it, but the original First Aid Beauty Repair cream works much better. I thought I would give this a try since I love the other cream so much. I will use it, but next time will stick the other one.

Datrex 3600 Calorie Emergency Food Bar for Survival Kits, Disaster Preparedness, Survival Gear, Sur

Datrex 3600 Calorie Emergency Food Bar for Survival Kits, Disaster Preparedness, Survival Gear, Survival Supplies, Schools Supplies, Disaster KitMy friends ask, "What do you need 3-days of food in your car for?" so I tell them just in case, because if I explained all the terrible things that could possibly happen at any given moment, they'd feel uncomfortable and I'd look paranoid.

-15 bucks

-6 Days of Food

-Lasts up to 5 years.

Because McDonald's won't be there when your dying.

This stuff is kinda tasty, stays fresh for a long time, and packs small.

I suggest it for any survival kit where space is limited but still available. In other words, get cheaper bulkier stuff for your home. (Mountain House Hardtack is good there, along with some peanut butter and canned goods). This is for your car, boat, plane, or office. It's standard issue in many lifeboats. It does not require cooking and is moist enough so that it's not thirst provoking.

*WARNING!* Contains coconut, and not just a trace. Do NOT buy or consume if you have coconut allergies! I had a friend break out in hives just for being in the same room

I have several stashes (office, home, car, storage locker) of emergency rations and several 'bug-out' bags as I cannot be certain where I'll be if and when the poop hits the propeller.

I have had to re-order this item on several occasions to replenish my office stash as I keep snacking on the darn things.

Several Points:

1) The 'brick' is aluminized plastic vacuum wrapped around 18 individually wrapped bars.

2) The brick is heavier than you would expect as the moisture content is very low to allow a tightly packed food source in minimal space.

3) Due to the low moisture content you will want a liquid to drink although the bars themselves DO NOT enhance thirst.

4) Once the outer wrapper has been breached, the 5 year shelf life is no longer applicable. The individual bars are wrapped in ultra thin cellophane.

5) The 18 separate bars TOTAL 3600 calories. The Three day calculation is bases on 1,200 calories per day (3 meals a day for 3 days at 2 bars per meal).

6) For those of you who rightly observe that 1,200 calories per day is below the prescribed minimum...keep in mind these bars are coast guard approved emergency rations. They are MISSION SPECIFIC. I.E.: They were designed for the relatively low caloric consumption of sitting, inactive, in a life boat while awaiting rescue.

That fact, however, does not diminsh the wisdom of having a supply on hand for emergencies and/or bug-out ration suppliments.

One Complaint: as I mentioned before, they use a thin cellophane wrap on each bar (no doubt to further minimize bulk of packaging).

The problem is that it is a B*TCH to unwrap. If you do it wrong, the bar will crumble. My technique is to sliide the side of a pocket knife around the flat side of the bar (Much like you were honing the knife on a whet stone) until the edge of the knife catches the edge of the wrapper and then gently work the wrapper off.

Bon Appetit'

I ordered this 2 pack about a week ago, the package came today, and only had one bar in it. I left the seller a message saying theyre mistake, and they almost immediately (less than an hour) contacted me back saying they will correct theyre mistake. fantastic service. Ive never gotten such quick responses from anyone.

As for the product, top quality stuff. Its smaller than i expected, which is good as its easier to pack away. Its not a bad taste at all, strong coconut flavor. also, with many of these 5 year shelf life items, you need to worry about getting one thats already a year or so into its life, but these were manufactured june 2010, giving me almost a full five years on them.

Top notch stuff.

This product makes a lot of sense. The challenge for me has been that the packaging is weak I had 3 in a backpack, surrounded by soft clothing, 1 week, no hiking, just sitting there in a closet, and 2 of 4 lost their vacuum seal (now how long will it last?). Better to learn the lesson while you have options.

With the 2 that did not fail, I plan to pack them inside of a hard container by themselves.

The best option, even if more expensive, would be for the manufacturer to individually wrap each bar (more redundancy), or provide a hard outer container anything to make this more field worthy would be great.

Burn Free Emergency Burn Kit

Burn Free Emergency Burn KitI bought this kit via a live purchase, not online, but after recently having had to use it in a real burn semi-emergency, I simply must review it. At the time I was appalled at the price of a relatively small box with just these items in it. Now I think it was cheap at 10X the price! I've also purchased a bunch more of the small packs for my various other emergency kits at work, in the car and in my back pack.

The gel works by simply removing heat and halting the process of the burning. And it does it fast and very completely. It then also removes the pain and keeps the tissue supple so you don't rip off the damaged skin. That certainly lowers the risk of infection.

So how do I know?

I recently reached out and grabbed a bowl that had been in the oven. Both hands, full contact and then I couldn't just drop it because of the boiling liquid contents. Therefore I had to lower the bowl, albeit quickly, before I could remove my hands. All of my fingers had immediate burns and raised flesh, meaning blisters. And they were in serious pain.

I used my thumbs to open the box right in the emergency drawer next to the stove. I had to tear open the packet, and that was painful, but then blessed relief came as the gel came in contact with the skin. It was instantaneous. Within a minute or two the gel had already soaked in, indicating a significant burn and the pain started coming back so I finally got the bottle open and applied liberally. Again, relief. I reapplied several times over the next couple of hours but was amazed at how well this worked. Most of the blisters never really filled and some of the fingertips were just raw rather than blistered.

Yes, I did get some nasty blisters the shape of the rim of the bowl, but overall, it was far less than I would have expected. And, to top it off, the blisters went away really fast and seemed not as full. I can't recommend this product highly enough. It should be in every kitchen, handy and ready.

Iodine Tincture First Aid Antiseptic-2% USP, By Preferred Plus - 1 Oz

Iodine Tincture First Aid Antiseptic-2% USP, By Preferred Plus - 1 OzThis iodine is exactly what I wanted in order to be able to test for iodine deficiency, which I have read is much more prevalent than most realize. I know that iodine is good for other things, too, but the testing is what I wanted it for. Remember, this form is NOT for internal usage! There are other products, like Lugol's and Iosol, which are.

Slowly been putting together a few survival kits. While there's some debate about using Iodine vs chlorine/bleach for water treatment especially for longterm use, I'm a big believer in having a few different solutions around the house, in my car and at camp. This Iodine tincture is designed for topical treatment (largely cleaning a wound), but has a dual purpose of being able to treat water for bacteria and make it drinkable (even though it says it's a poison). Now, I wouldn't want to do this long term....but for a 72 hour survival situation, this liquid iodine is a handy piece of kit with a few different uses, and versatility is clutch in emergency or survival situations. I would read up on precisely how to treat water and the effects/benefits/comparison between iodine vs chlorine/bleach based treatments (as well as physical filters for water)...as there are a lot of pros and cons, but as a first-aid topical treatment, Iodine is great. Has a long shelf-life. It can stain and there are clear versions of Iodine, but I like being able to "see" where the Iodine goes.

Spenco 2nd Skin Squares, 200 Gel Squares

Spenco 2nd Skin Squares, 200 Gel SquaresThis is an awesome product for blisters on feet -as medical for many 2 and 3-day walks, I swear by it... these squares will not stay put without something to anchor them. I've found (after multiple years of using) that putting a square (or 2 side-by-side, for large blisters) and then applying a large piece of moleskin over it, so that the moleskin is able to adhere all the way around is the way to go. The moleskin sticks to the good skin, and the 2nd Skin creates a nice squishy space for the blister (no more friction!).

Tips: Be sure the moleskin doesn't have square corners (they're rounded) and has no wrinkles.

-If the moleskin is sticking and you're not having more pain or issues, DONT TAKE IT OFF until you're done with your activity and then take off the moleskin in the shower or bath.

-it doesn't do any good to peek to see if things are still okay under the moleskin, and you may even make things worse if loose skin sticks and is pulled off.

This is my second jar of Skin Squares. I'm a Scoutmaster and frequently deal with blisters. It took me a couple years (and lots of sore Scout feet) but I eventually went through my entire first jar. For high adventure hiking trips I store a couple dozen of these in a baggie and keep them in my first aid kit.

A couple irritations:

1) They stick together, so sometimes when you fish one out you get the pad itself, plus one or more of the little mylar protective covers for other squares. Eventually you end up with lots of gel squares stuck to each other, since their mylar covers came off with other squares.

2) They dry out over time. I simply add a few drops of water to the jar (and to my baggie) every once in a while, and that keeps them moist.

These are BY FAR the best blister treatment I've used. And believe me, I've tried everything. Everyone who I've shared these with is very pleased with the results.

One Each Adjustable Bedside Assistant BED HANDLES INC

One Each Adjustable Bedside Assistant BED HANDLES INCThe bedside assistant bed handles might seem a little pricey, but I cannot put a price on having my parents back home from the rehab. hospital, and safe in their own bed. Most medical equipment is expensive, but blame the companies who distribute the products. This device was designed by an engineer for his wife who has MS. I'm sure it was his intention to put out a product to help his wife, and others...it was the corporations who manipulate the price.

The original Bedside Assistant works well on most mattresses(up to 16"), but consider the adjustable Bedside Assistant that extends to 20" if you have a new pillow-top mattress. It's a fine product and I'm forever grateful for it's inventor. Thank You.

I bought this for my 91yr old mom. It is exactly as advertised, sturdy and fits well. My big problem is spending $65 on a couple of pieces of lightweight aluminum and a strap. I am in the wrong business! Holy mackerel!

This seems to be a case of collusion. All the manufacturers charge about the same amount for this and they are all laughing all the way to the bank.

If you want bed rails, this will do but don't expect much

Eo28 Tropical Splash Rtf Medical Food For Children

Eo28 Tropical Splash Rtf Medical Food For ChildrenI purchased this item so my son could taste the flavor before I shelled out $140 for a case. I would definitely recommend buying a smaller number of cartons for your toddler to try if you can find it, but I don't know that I can recommend that anyone buy this particular listing because it is somewhat cost prohibitive.

50 Remedy Kit, 30c

50 Remedy Kit, 30c
  • Each vial contains 100s of pellets and doses
  • Includes an informational pamphlet that gives an approach to finding the remedy needed
  • Each vial is clearly marked on the cap and side
  • Packaged in sturdy plastic cases, great for home or travel

I own 3 of these kits in different potencies and recommend them over others that I have purchased. For those that complain about the small size of the pellets you should know that although they are small, that is the benefit. You still need only 3. One of the first homeopathy courses I ever took from a nationally known veterinary homepath taught me that you give the same amount to an elephant as to a mouse. You are stimulating the vital force. It is perfect for animals and kids as you can just lift the lip and pour the pellets onto the mucosa without touching it and you are done. These kits last forever and are very ecomomical. You can also order individual refills from Washington Homeopathic Products for those items you use the most. The insert describing the uses of each remedy cross referenced to symptoms is a godsend for the homeopathic novice. This offer is even cheaper that those sold by the manufacturer. I was just looking at kits as my husband called from his hunting trip with an injury and he wanted a more comprehensive kit than his small homemade one for the various aches, pains, and injuries of his fellow hunters!

I use this kit for my family and my pets and it contains all I need. The kit also includes a useful sheet cross-referencing symptoms and remedies. I have been confused by several books on homeopathy, but using this sheet of paper, I would have selected the same remedies my knowledgable veterinarian used in the past. Some other reviewers were put off by the small pellets, but I'm happy with the size and number of the pellets; in homeopathy, less is more. This is a great kit for home, travel, or emergencies.

This is a great kit with pretty much all the remedies a novice would need. My only gripe is that the pellets are super small and hard to get out of the bottle. That being said, they are small enough I give them to my infant without worry about choking.

Convenient size for travel with a large assortment of regularly-used remedies as well as some occasionally needed. That being said, you pay for the convenience, even at this discounted price it seems too much for what you're getting. Also I think the description is insufficient for instance, I don't believe it mentions this comes in the tiny pellet-size product (almost granule size). Great product but overpriced.

EMT First Responder Trauma Bag EMS, Ambulance, Medical Resuce Cab Bag

EMT First Responder Trauma Bag EMS, Ambulance, Medical Resuce Cab Bag - BLUEAs an EMT of 6+ years I see how bags can be thrown around and all during an emergency. Dialy use, 12 or 24 hour shifts, multiple trauma, fires, etc. can take a toll on a cheap bag. The size is good for a First Responder and associated items. Good for carrying items to treat minor injuries, sprains, broken bones, OTC medications....blah blah blah.

I have two bags I use: This one and Trauma medic bag I got while in the Army. This bag has non-rebreather mask, band-aids, alcohol wipes, guaze pads, guaze rolls, stethescope, BP cuff, thermomenters, three foldable splint braces, medical tape, minor OTC pain meds, Neosporin, a Pulse Oximeter, and much more. On that, it's not full! It's a good size for what it is intended. Most "first-aid kits" come suppled with very little.

I could fill this thing from any Rite-Aid, Excerd, Wal-Mart pharmacy area for very little. Sure the inital cost might seem a bit high, but once you have it, it will have more than what is needed for any minor emergency. My EMT/Trauma bag has the same items but more in severe trauma emergency supplies. Think "Rescue 911.

I would rather have this than a big bag to root through to find what I need.

Not horrible, but not what I expected. I ordered this bag to put in my car in-case I ever come across a car accident or whatever the occasion may be. Since I work as an EMT I figure if I can help why not? So, long story short I order this bag assuming it would be the same size of the bags I use at work. This was not the case, this "EMT First Responder Trauma Bag EMS" is not even half the size of my regular bags

-I could barley fit half the equipment inside the main compartment, the side and front pockets

-The top piece of the bag either seals by cheap Velcro that is almost useless, or the clips in the front which do hold but do not close it completely. This is because the equipment when inside causes there to be a large gap from the side pocket to the top flap.

Like I said it is a bag. BUT if it's a bag that your looking to hold all your equipment then you would need to buy at least two of these compared to any other bag which you would only need one.

Buy EMT First Responder Trauma Bag EMS, Ambulance, Medical Resuce Cab Bag Now

I have ordered both bags for the non profit EMS company I run. The Blue bag is actually a Rotchco EMS bag with a MSRP of 29.99 so its a steal at 14.99! We use this bag as a standard medical patrol bag for members and its of fantastic quality. We bought a few of the red and blue bags for our membership.

The red bag is slightly larger on the side pockets but the material is thinner with inferior sewing/stitching and does not come with a padded divider insert. The red bag is a non name bag and comes in the box packed flat.

If you are looking to use this bag as a full EMS fist in bag keep in mind it wont hold a BVM in the side pockets. However if thats not a deal buster it will hold a impressive amount of supplies. The top inside of the bag has a zipper in it. If you cut a bit of cardboard out and slide it up in the compartment on the top of the bag it makes the bag more square and 10 times more durable. Your also able to lift the bag by the handle much better when you do that.

If your looking for a FULL use BLS bag with full gear this bag may not be for you. However if you are looking for a second smaller more portable bag or a bag for a large first aid kit then this is your bag.

Prestige Babinski Telescoping Reflex Hammer

Prestige Babinski Telescoping Reflex HammerIf you're a fan of Babinski and Queen's Square style reflex hammers, and you don't happen to have a custom white coat to accommodate the extra-long handle (which is necessary to get reflexes well!), then this is the best thing out there. Collapsible so it fits, extendable so it actually works. The only flaws are its cost (it's a few dollars more than the other types) and the swivel head, which forces you to orient it correctly so it doesn't get bent when you elicit the reflex.

But unless you want to shell out for a Tromner hammer, this is the way to go for portability in a good hammer!

I like it...no complaints. Easy to place in lab coat pocket...great for exams ...much better than others I've tired. It feels professional.
