EMT First Responder Trauma Bag EMS, Ambulance, Medical Resuce Cab Bag

EMT First Responder Trauma Bag EMS, Ambulance, Medical Resuce Cab Bag - BLUEAs an EMT of 6+ years I see how bags can be thrown around and all during an emergency. Dialy use, 12 or 24 hour shifts, multiple trauma, fires, etc. can take a toll on a cheap bag. The size is good for a First Responder and associated items. Good for carrying items to treat minor injuries, sprains, broken bones, OTC medications....blah blah blah.

I have two bags I use: This one and Trauma medic bag I got while in the Army. This bag has non-rebreather mask, band-aids, alcohol wipes, guaze pads, guaze rolls, stethescope, BP cuff, thermomenters, three foldable splint braces, medical tape, minor OTC pain meds, Neosporin, a Pulse Oximeter, and much more. On that, it's not full! It's a good size for what it is intended. Most "first-aid kits" come suppled with very little.

I could fill this thing from any Rite-Aid, Excerd, Wal-Mart pharmacy area for very little. Sure the inital cost might seem a bit high, but once you have it, it will have more than what is needed for any minor emergency. My EMT/Trauma bag has the same items but more in severe trauma emergency supplies. Think "Rescue 911.

I would rather have this than a big bag to root through to find what I need.

Not horrible, but not what I expected. I ordered this bag to put in my car in-case I ever come across a car accident or whatever the occasion may be. Since I work as an EMT I figure if I can help why not? So, long story short I order this bag assuming it would be the same size of the bags I use at work. This was not the case, this "EMT First Responder Trauma Bag EMS" is not even half the size of my regular bags

-I could barley fit half the equipment inside the main compartment, the side and front pockets

-The top piece of the bag either seals by cheap Velcro that is almost useless, or the clips in the front which do hold but do not close it completely. This is because the equipment when inside causes there to be a large gap from the side pocket to the top flap.

Like I said it is a bag. BUT if it's a bag that your looking to hold all your equipment then you would need to buy at least two of these compared to any other bag which you would only need one.

I have ordered both bags for the non profit EMS company I run. The Blue bag is actually a Rotchco EMS bag with a MSRP of 29.99 so its a steal at 14.99! We use this bag as a standard medical patrol bag for members and its of fantastic quality. We bought a few of the red and blue bags for our membership.

The red bag is slightly larger on the side pockets but the material is thinner with inferior sewing/stitching and does not come with a padded divider insert. The red bag is a non name bag and comes in the box packed flat.

If you are looking to use this bag as a full EMS fist in bag keep in mind it wont hold a BVM in the side pockets. However if thats not a deal buster it will hold a impressive amount of supplies. The top inside of the bag has a zipper in it. If you cut a bit of cardboard out and slide it up in the compartment on the top of the bag it makes the bag more square and 10 times more durable. Your also able to lift the bag by the handle much better when you do that.

If your looking for a FULL use BLS bag with full gear this bag may not be for you. However if you are looking for a second smaller more portable bag or a bag for a large first aid kit then this is your bag.

I am a paramedic, I bought this to use as a creative diaper bag for my son. Its not a huge bag, you can't carry everything, just specifics. It could make a good trauma or peds bag. It works great as a diaper bag because of the shoulder strap. And I don't have to carry a flowery one. :)
