If you're a fan of Babinski and Queen's Square style reflex hammers, and you don't happen to have a custom white coat to accommodate the extra-long handle (which is necessary to get reflexes well!), then this is the best thing out there. Collapsible so it fits, extendable so it actually works. The only flaws are its cost (it's a few dollars more than the other types) and the swivel head, which forces you to orient it correctly so it doesn't get bent when you elicit the reflex.

But unless you want to shell out for a Tromner hammer, this is the way to go for portability in a good hammer!

I like it...no complaints. Easy to place in lab coat pocket...great for exams ...much better than others I've tired. It feels professional.

After using a standard tomahawk style reflex hammer for a few years, I finally upgraded. This has made a huge difference on my physical exam, and has made hitting deep tendon reflexes 10x easier. If you are just learning, spend the extra couple dollars, and get the better hammer. It is worth it.
