Everything I may possibly need and was looking for in a comprehensive medical kit!!!!With my military background and volunteer FF/EMT experience, I have the knowledge to put together what I need to create a decent med kit but yet I was still interested in what the civilian market had to offer. I was in search of a kit that I could build out from to meet my needs and purposes. ADMK (Adventure Medical Kits) had really impressed me with their range of products tailored to the professional and lay responder. I was looking for a comprehensive kit that I could add to my personal "Go-Bag" and found that the ADMK Sportsman Grizzly did just that. I was able to pack it in perfectly in my Maxpedition Kodiak pack with plenty of room to spare. What I like about this kit is that it is able to address a multitude of issues from the common headache and upset stomach to traumatic injuries. Anyone can utilize this kit as its contents are conveniently compartmentalized and accompanied with material and instructions to administer what may be needed. The only issue with this product is the price point ($100 +) but with some effort, anyone can find much more competitive prices like I did here on Amazon for roughly $80. I am sure that the next person could put together the exact same contents at a much more reasonable price but ADMK has packaged and assembled such a quality product that I have the confidence that I can hand this kit to the average person and they could provide a "better than basic" level of care based on what is in this kit alone.

I was moving cross country and in preparation for that move, I finally needed to invest in some emergency supplies for any potential issue we might encounter on the road. First aid, flat tire, fire, stranded etc... First off, being a Virgo I research everything and always think of the worst case scenario. If you have one in your life count yourself blessed and cursed as they will always be prepared but also drive you crazy at the same time. But think how we feel! :) This purchase was no exception and I debated between this and the next lower model the Bighorn. But you know on the road, you can encounter a lot of troubles... car accidents, assaults in unfamiliar areas, car breakdowns out in the middle of nowhere ie the desert and I wanted to ensure we were prepared for ANYTHING. That is why I went with this model. It was small enough (probably about 3/4 the size of a shoe box) to fit between my driver's seat and the back seat on the floor in my hybrid. It had everything I could need for any emergency on the road for us. It was soft sided. It included items for heavy bleeding. I could use it later in the home or to take with me on hikes when I am out photographing things that could kill me in areas that might be hazardous too. Get the ideas? This, my portable fire extinguisher, flat fix with air compressor, a lot of water and a high powered LED flashlight were planned months ahead of time to take with me on my travel and while those things did not make me totally relaxed, at least I didn't need to worry about those few things. Good purchase, no regrets. ECONOMY VALUE BUTTERFLY CLOSURE STRIPS LARGE 100/BOX
The size is 100% correct and that is why I gave it 2 stars. However, if you have ever seen what I call a "real" large butterfly bandage it will be this same size except if you look closely you will see a "weave", sort of clothlike and thin but sticky, really sticky. That is what you will find in any good first aid kit, these strips are useless without some serious taping. The tape you need will look "weaved", sort of clothlike and thin but sticky, really sticky. Sometimes it is just called "Athletic Tape". Not paper tape and certainly no tape labelled "OUCHLESS". That is code for "Won't stick". You can remove any tape by soaking in warm water. The tape should not touch the wound directly. Once you have the right tape you can just make your own butterfly bandage that will actually stick (google it). I went to 5 retail pharmacies including a "high end" one. They all had similar crap, some a little better, some a little worse. All require serious tape which negates the whole point of the butterfly bandage./end rant

I recently purchased 2 pairs each of the 7.5" Lister Sharp/Blunt (3 dollar version) and 5.5" Lister Sharp/Blunt w/ clip (again the $3 version). They arrived promptly and in good condition. I tested them on cardboard, denim and a terrycloth towel and they cut well through all. They appear to be pretty sturdy, but are not as heavy and thick as some I have run across, but those were probably $15+ scissors. The price is what got the 5th star on these scissors. I can't speak to their longevity yet, but in my ER experience these kind of things tend to get borrowed permanently before they break. I had full extractions and began wearing upper and lower dentures 6 months ago at the age of 47. I am sure all denture wearers know what a humbling experience this can be at any age and I was no exception, it was hard. After the initial healing period, bone loss and gum shrinkage occurred rapidly. My soft re-lines by the dentist held up two weeks, max. After reading all the great reviews, I purchased Cushion Grip from Amazon early on in my denture experience and it has been if not a life saver for me, a definite 'pride saver' as I cannot see the dentist twice a month. I have found it very easy to use and had no problems even the first time I used it. In addition to closely following the package directions, I recommend having a blow dryer handy until you become accustomed to the application. The tube must be warmed in a cup of hot water before squeezing the substance out at which time in comes out with ease in one piece. Before I became skilled enough to make the application quickly, sometimes it would cool down faster than I could shape the pliable rubber-like substance into my denture. That's where the blow dryer comes in. If it cools down and loses its pliability before you've finished shaping it into your denture, a warm blow dryer over the denture for a few seconds will soften it back up. Because I've had practice, I rarely have to do that any longer; I am able to properly apply and shape the substance to my denture in a matter of seconds. The outcome is much like a reline from the dentist. Given the speed by which my gums have shrunk, Cushion Grip has represented the most convenient and economical solution for me.Pros: Very fast temporary reline once you get used to it. The box states that it lasts up to four days, but a single application has lasted up to two weeks for me. Prevents the friction and gum soreness from loose fitting dentures. Affordable. Dependable. Easy to remove in one piece (run cold water over your plate for easy removal or grip).
Cons: The grip does burn the gums for the first 2 or 3 minutes, but this was less intense for me over time. I does not serve as an 'adhesive' for me on my lower dentures as the tube suggests. I still need to apply an adhesive. If you do choose to leave the reline in more than a few days, you may start to notice sharp edges because the product becomes harder. I use this as my signal to remove the old Cushion Grip and apply new.
I know the use of Cushion Grip has prevented some embarrassing moments for me as a newbie to dentures. I would give it 5 stars if it did not claim to be an 'adhesive.' It is definitely more of a fast, convenient, temporary reline but I would not count on it alone to keep my lowers secure.
Along come Cushion Grip & after reading reviews I was real sure my search was over. First of all it is NOT an adhesive, if that's what you really want look elsewhere. It is a very thick thermoplastic gel. I say gel but its barely liquid. In reality that is what you want. Something that is pliable, can be spread inside your dentures yet soft enough to conform to your gums. It did that far better than than the impressions my dentist made.
I said its NOT an adhesive but it conforms so well adhesive is not necessary. It conforms near to an exact fit & after biting down its a vacuum like a suction cup. That is what it does it creates a vacuum. It does not let air in so your dentures stay in place. My dentures were pretty loose, now the problem is gone.
I heat water on the stove, not boiling & leave the tube in for 5+ minutes. Meanwhile I use tooth paste & brush my dentures, making sure they are clean & dry. Then spread the gel & let it sit for at least ten minutes. You may not spread it quite right but you'll learn.
I said 10 minutes because it needs time to cure. I think some feel a burning sensation because they do not let it cure long enough. If you use a lot, let it cure longer. In my case a tube will do my uppers 4 times. So once cured put it in & push back & up, then bite firmly for about 15 seconds. It takes a little effort to remove them. If you did it right, cure time etc your dentures will fit tight & hold. If you did not allow enough cure time the thermoplastic might stick to you gums. That happened to me first time so a little more cure time & all was well.
If you've read this far be sure to read reviews similar to mine. This product works & works very well & it lasts a lot longer than stated by the mfg. Imagine that, how often does that happen? I got it from Pharmapacks well ahead of schedule.

I find that cushion grip helps me with the fit of my dentures. I had a friend try it and he did not like it at all. For me it keeps my teeth from moving around. I should get them refitted, but this, for me, is a lot better right now.

I recently "big-chopped" after transitioning for one year. My go-to style during transition and after, has been the bantu-knot-out. This is the first setting lotion I tried, and it definitely holds the hair and gives it some shine. First, let me say I have not had to/gotten to use this, yet. That being said, I think this tourniquet has everything an emergency responder (or anyone who knows how to use a tourniquet) would want. I especially like the redundant securing setup--you can use the triangular "rings" to secure the "winder", and you can also tighten the set screw to hold the strap in place once the tourniquet has been successfully placed into postion. I would personally attempt to use both, but I believe the set screw will hold by itself. The price of this unit is a couple more bucks than Gen 1, but I believe having the set screw for extra peace of mind is well worth that couple bucks. There are fancier, more expensive units out there, but based on the tourniquets I've seen, I believe this one is the best one all around, so far.

This is a great item in terms of its function. Each individual must decide whether it is appropriate for their medical kit. It is not the least bulky of items and it is not the lightest. But if you are in a situation where profuse appendage exsanguination is probable, this is a lifesaver, literally. If that is not likely, you can probably do well with cravat bandages and a "found" windlass.

Mitigator Sting & Bite Treatment Scrub (1 Ounce Tube)
I am a forester who has worked in wasp, hornet and yellowjacket country for over 35 years.... believe me, I've tried all remedies. Obviously, this testimonial is not appropriate for anaphylactic shock and serious allergic reactions. I'll limit my experience to members of the Vespidae (yellowjackets and hornets). First, the product MUST be applied IMMEDIATELY after a sting or stings. This is the same with any product I know of. If you get it on quickly and follow the application directions, you will be impressed with the results anything from complete elimination of symptoms after a couple minutes to a marked reduction of symptoms. Vespids don't leave a stinger, so don't worry about trying to remove it. For myself, I also take a Benadryl (diphenhydramine) tab soon after a sting... I usually wait until I'm done with any work that requires alertness as the Benadryl makes me very drowsy. Once I get home, I wash the site thoroughly and apply ice and rest & elevate the sting site if possible. Icing is the best continuing treatment for remaining swelling and itching... this is often not possible at work so I just try to ignore it till I get home. The only other remedy I recommend is an old forester's remedy that works just as well but is less convenient... make a paste of baking soda and meat tenderizer and apply this IMMEDIATELY after sting. Rub in well. The meat tenderizer will denature the venom proteins that it comes in contact with... same follow up treatment as above. With any sting, if you have not been stung by that particular insect before, be alert for symptoms of severe allergic reactions.

I think I am somewhat allergic to mosquitos, because when I get bit, the lcoalized reaction is highly itchy, causing me to scratch and scratch, rip my skin open, scratch and rip, in a vicious cycle. Benedryl gel used to help but no longer does, and I seem to taste oh-so-delish to mosquitos, so the bites happen all the time and all over the place. On a recent camping trip to Texas, it seemed like everything really is bigger there including the mosquitos. I was bitten all over my legs, arms and back, and after two weeks was still horribly itching and tearing my skin apart. A friend suggested I try Mitigator Scrub. I got instant relief because you apply the product which has some slightly abrasive particles in it by SCRUBBING it into the itchy areas of your skin. What I had doing with my fingernails, which tore me up, and didn't ultimately provide relief, I couold now do with the scrub and the palm of my hand. It recommends you scrub for at leats a minute and probably about three minutes. After about a minute of scrubbing, I felt relief, And satisfaction. I really needed to itch, and I could "scratch" or feel like I had scratched with the scrub but not tear myself open. Not only that, there is actually some sort of medicine in there, partially consisting of bakng soda, and something else. For the first time, I didn't feel itchy again for almost 3 or 4 hours while awake, and I would apply it again before going to bed and could actually sleep through the night without tearing myself apart. Whoa! I bought 20 tubes online after this worked so well for me, and my bites are finally healing after nearly a month, and I am so grateful to have discovered this product. Unfortunately, the manufacturer's website says they have discontinued the product. Which is why I bought so many online. I cannot rave enough about this stuff. About 6 years ago I got this horrible mass of ant bites covering both the tops of my feet. Just woke up one morning and it was there just a huge mass of insect bites like something out of a horror movie. My roommate said it looked like a wild animial had gnawed on the tops of my feet and they looked like hamburger meat. With this many bites you can't help but scratch the itching was a nightmare. I always made sure to wash my hands first and to apply antibiotic afterwards but nothing I repeat NOTHING would touch these in terms of itch relief. I tried it all too, let me tell you. I probably spent over $100 on stuff like benedryl (both pills and topical) antibiotic treatment and other itch relief junk. Its all junk. I found this randomly in a Walmart in New Mexico when I was visiting family for the holidays. This stuff is the ONLY thing that calmed my itch for more than a few seconds, it worked for maybe 3-6 hours a first in that nightmare. You can use the scrub to scratch your itch plus it has stuff to stop it from itching too. Your not getting your dirty fingernails breaking open your skin and creating more infection. The only bad thing as everyone else has said this is a total B**** to find. I use this tape to keep my mouth closed while using a nasal pillow CPAP machine to avoid dry mouth in the morning. Two five-to-six inch pieces are used in a cross hatch fashion between cheek and chin and under my nose to prevent interference with the nasal pillow.This tape does not stick very well to my face, especially if I did not shave in the morning, so sometimes I'll use an extra-long piece vertically across my mouth. Most of it holds up through the night, and it removes fairly easily. However, it is very hard to tear by hand and requires several tries along its length. Unless you have the strength to tear a phone book in half, scissors are recommended.

These new mini lozenges come in 2 and 4 mg strengths, and are an improvement over the larger Commit-type nicotine lozenges that come in brand and generic form. However, as most people who have been using nicotine lozenges 'successfully' for any amount of time can tell you, the lozenges THEMSELVES are ADDICTIVE and can be very hard to quit because of the powerful oral gratification that they deliver. Do a Google search for Lozenges Addiction just those two words, and you will see first-hand accounts that ex-smokers have posted here and there online, explaining how they continued to use the lozenges for YEARS after they quit smoking, well beyond the time window when they were supposed to have stopped using them. Dental problems abound because, although they are sugar free, the inactive ingredients in them change mouth pH. And the sweeteners used can have addictive properties themselves.On a more positive note, these new mini-lozenges are an improvement because there are more places in your mouth that you can put one. I imagine they will also be a hit for people trying to quit chewing tobacco because they tuck very nicely in the same places for example, under the upper lip. These work, for sure you won't want to go back to cigarettes after a few months of using them, and with any luck, you will be able to step down from 4 to 2 mg after a few weeks. The memory of smoking will fade, but the pleasures of nicotine use, and the associated risks such as high blood pressure will continue with use of the lozenges. Understand that you will need to face the challenge of quitting the lozenges down the road. Diet Coke and Altoids might do the trick. But what the heck it's still healthier than smoking...

I've waited awhile to write this review because I've never been so passionately divided about a product. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this product is a double-edged sword. With any kind of motivation and the 4mg Mini Lozenge, you will be able to stop smoking. I have twice now. The first time it worked great, and when I weened myself off it didn't take more than a bump in the road to get me back to smoking. The second time, well I've been smoke free for over a year... but I never weened off the lozenges. Online boards have people taking these things for five plus years and going strong, and I've got to think I'll be joining them. There is some chatter online about them damaging your teeth so I've been fastidious about my dental care and so far no major issues. They are cheaper than cigarettes in my case, but not cheap nonetheless. But even if it costs me $20 a week (which is average thus far), and even if they did rot the teeth out of my head; I'm calm, relaxed, and happy as if I never quit smoking. These mints are great for those who want to stop smoking. You place them between your lip and gums, and they last almost an hour. They completely stop your craving. I don't recommend buying them on Amazon. I purchased a couple boxs from Amazon, and they when I got them they were set to expire in 4 days. I've used them in the past, and when the mints are close to their expiration date they are less effective and don't break down properly in your mouth. I got a coupon from my pharmacy and with unsuccessful attempts to quit with the patch, I gave them a try. From day one I was smoke free, and that was 3 weeks ago. Not long, you say? Try it....I have had only one true vision of sticking that menthol cigarette in my mouth since I started these. I plan to win and these are doing the job. My doctor is thrilled, my sister is thrilled because she quit months ago after 35 years of smoking, and I already feel the difference. I will admit that I get jittery occasionally if faced with a stressful situation, but I pop one of the lozenges in and know that I didn't smoke a cigarette instead. Oh and just because you can start with one every two hours, I found that the first day I watched the clock, but went 2.5 3.0 hours before I felt I needed one. I liked it as soon as I held it. It has good weight without being too heavy. It's well balanced and not so smooth as to be too slippery. There are some machine markings on the one I got. Really well balanced making it easy to hold yet having enough heft to give consistent swings without needing to put in too much effort. The rubber ends are soft as not to be knee busters. A good Neurology resident hammer or EDC (every day carry) hammer.
