ACE Reusable Cold Compress

ACE Reusable Cold Compress LargeEvery night I do three miles on my treadmill and due to arthritis and bone spurs in my feet and a torn disc in my back I always have to apply ice to those areas afterward. Over the years I was forced to use those "clear-plastic-gel-like" compresses. The problem with those type products are 1) you have to (and are warned on the product) to wrap in a towel to apply. 2) They have a rather short life cycle before the "icky" gooey gel starts leaking on your towel... on you... on your furniture.

When a friend of mine found this brand for me... I can't tell you how many drug stores I went to, that not only didn't have them... but acted like I was from another planet when I asked for them. My friend lives in another city and would buy them for me and have to ship them to me. These cold compresses are provided encased in a strong "fabric-like-material", hence I nicknamed them "INDUSTRIAL-STRENGTH" COLD COMPRESSES. You do not need to wrap in a towel. You apply them directly to the required area. Though they too eventually wear out, they last much longer and feel more comfortable. I recommend them head and shoulders above the garden variety "plastic-like" cold-compresses of yester-year.

currently i am dealing with sciatica and need to keep icing my back. i purchased 2 of these packs and they have been a godsend. they are the perfect size to place on my lower back and can easily help for your neck or other part of the body as its a size that works well anywhere. depends on how cold u have your freezer set it will either be a bit stiff or completely lose like a before you placed it in the freezer, but either way it holds the cold very well. the fabric itself feels like cloth and is designed to go right on your skin instead of needing to be wrapped in a towel which is nice. you can place it on and not feel the burn on your skin. i ice my back for a bout 25-30 minutes at a time and the packs last long enough to do the job. once you put them back in the freezer they take less than two hours before you can use them again. if you are unlucky like me and need to ice your aching body then i highly recommend this product.

These cold packs leak, although they are a great idea. I use cold packs all the time after exercise, and after recent outpt. surgery. Unfortunately, if you bend them to wrap them around a foot (for instance), they soon start to leak the gel from inside. I'd suggest the Nextcare line of hot/cold packs instead, as they are about the same size and have proven to be much more durable.

Exactly what I wanted. These cannot be bought in pharmacy's anymore for whatever reason. I have been using them for years and like the larger size. Since they are reuseable that are quite economical. I was amazed that they are no longer available but through the internet.

The ACE Reusable Cold Compress (Large) provides excellent pain relief for my swollen knees after a workout. It is flexible when ice cold, and the material actually does allow me to place the compress directly against my skin without too much shock or chill. But the compress is not "large." It might wrap around the knee or thigh of a child, but not of an adult.

A+D First Aid Ointment, with Vitamins A & D, 1.5 oz.

A+D First Aid Ointment, with Vitamins A & D, 1.5 oz.My lips have been VERY dry in the winter regardless of how much water I drink or how much good chapstick and vitamin E oil I put on them. The corners of my lips were so dry and red that I was starting to wonder if I had a cold sore. I was at a dentist appointment and my dentist told me to go buy A+D First Aid Ointment to put on my lips a couple times a day. He said chapstick and vitamin E oil are good for normal lips, but when they get really chapped it's best to use something stronger. After the first use, my scabs went away and the redness went down so much I can't even notice it when I look in the mirror. I am BEYOND impressed with this product and highly recommend it for anyone whose lips get chapped.

The product itself is as expected, packaging was intact. I had purchased this product with some piercing supplies all of which arrived at the same time except for this one. The vendor I purchased from (Cosmetic Solutions) was slow to ship and at one point I tried to cancel the order because of the slow shipment, but 5 minutes (literally) after I sent the request to cancel I got a confirmation of shipment. Once it was shipped it arrived quickly. I would buy this product again but definitely not from Cosmetic Solutions.

I burned my finger as I was Cooking and my Sister gave me a tube of A+D Ointment, it relieved the pain on my finger in just seconds. I never used it or seen this Ointment before, it has a Strong Smell of Lanolin and Petrolatum, the Ingredients. I also used it on my Lips while I had a Terrible Cold and it Protects and Helps the Skin. I was curious about the A+D letters thinking they are Vitamins in the Ointment, however,...apparently they are not in the List of Ingredients! ...Thank You D.D.

Clippers, Fingernail - 24/24/CaseI was looking clippers to be included in personal care kits for Lutheran World Relief. Although these were a reasonable price and seemed functional, they did not feel very sturdy and I did not feel confident in them for long term use. I returned them.

It looks really small but it has a lot of room!!!!! Not to mention that it matches my other items perfectly!!!!!! Really happy with this purchase

The material is a little cheap compared to my other case that came with my BP cuff. But the case looks very cute and, FYI, it fits either the blood pressure cuff OR the stethoscope (not both!)

Kleenex Safeskin Latex-Free & Powder-Free Purple Nitrile Gloves

Safeskin Latex-Free & Powder-Free Purple Nitrile Gloves 40 eaI purchased these gloves for work and also to use while cleaning my handguns. The gloves work very well and the puncture resistance is very good. I used a pair today to clean two handguns and a shotgun and no ripping. I have used other gloves that were thinner, but could not stand up to the abuse or the chemicals. At work I use them at work for dealing with people that I do not care to touch with bare hands. Again the puncture resistance is very good. Will definitely be purchasing more.

I chose safdskin gloves because I use them for pulling weed and these gloves are stronger than any others I've tried. They don't break through.

For those use to the generic, drug store disposable gloves these things are a revelation! They actually usually last until the end of the job you are using them for without tearing quickly, and with these you actually seem to have a better grip on things. Highly recommended.

Dynarex Instant Cold Pack, 5 Inches x 9 Inches, 24-Count

Dynarex Instant Cold Pack, 5 Inches x 9 Inches, 24-CountPlease watch my video review where I compare it to another brand, but the short story is that it goes cold instantly, lasts about 15 minutes before you can tell it's warming up, is cool up to 20 minutes, and despite its 5x9 description it's actually the same size as a competing product labeled 6x9.

(At the time I bought it, it was advertized as 5" x 9" and had a different look to the packaging, and cost less than $20 for the 24-pack.)

Our Softball club has used a lot of different ice packs over the years. We recently purchased a few cases of the Instant Disposable Ice Pack and I had an occasion to use it recently when I got hit by a ball. I was amazed how cold it got and how long it stayed cold. It was far colder then any other product we've used before and it stayed cold a lot longer. This is a wonderful product.

This is simple. My wife had Achilles Heel surgery in February and in June we were planning on going to Paris and Nice. We packed a bunch of these. They worked. They're flat, convenient and when you 'pop' them, they become very cold and last for about a half-hour to forty-five minutes. I wondered if I could have sent these to my stepson in Iraq! He would have loved them (didn't...and he's home safe.) I'd buy these again in a flash if I needed to.

Please watch my video review where I compare it to another brand, but the short story is that it goes cold instantly, lasts about 15 minutes before you can tell it's warming up, and chilly up to 20 minutes. It's a fine product if you can get it under $20, but if the Dynarex brand is still cheaper when I need more, I'll opt for those instead.

At the time I bought it, it had a different look to the packaging, and cost right about $20 for the 24-pack.

One XS Weight Loss Pills (X-Strength) Prescription Grade Diet Pills. No Prescription Needed. Fast P

One XS Weight Loss Pills Prescription Grade Diet Pill. No Prescription Needed. Fast Proven Results. Weight Loss Guaranteed. 60ctI have tried several different diet pills that promise both fat burning and appetite control. I have made it a personal rule that if I don't notice any effects before I finish the first bottle, I will not purchase a second bottle. That being said, I was quite impressed with One!

At first, the appetite control was amazing! I could totally relate to others' claims of needing to remind themselves to eat! However, I did notice that the "power" seemed to deminish after a couple of weeks on One it seemed that my body became somewhat used to the suppliment. *This does not mean that it stopped working!!!* In fact, I found the slightly increased appetite a little comforting. I would eat breakfast any time before 11:00, take my pill within 20 minutes of eating (one of the easiest pills to remember to take, by the way!), and not need to snack or pick at all for the entire rest of the day! I would eat dinner any time between 4 and 6, depending on when I ate breakfast, AND I NEVER FELT HUNGRY WHEN IT WASN'T TIME TO EAT!!!

I can't exactly give the same props to the energizing fat burner. My energy levels didn't increase noticeably, however, I didn't feel tired or drained with my decreased caloric intake. It's because of this missing element that I will be trying something else next month, hopefully achieving my desired weight!

One helped in a HUGE way, though, and I experienced *no negative side effects* (very important!)! Once I reach my goal, I will buy One in order to help me to maintain it!

I really, really liked this pill, and would recommend it to anyone who, like me, doesn't have more than 15-20 lbs that they want to shed. I DEFINITELY LOST INCHES IN THE FIRST MONTH!! My clothes fit better, I look better, and I feel better! I don't ask for too much more than that!

*** UPDATE ***

after just 3 days on something else, i'm dumping them and getting more of this!! i tried Fastin and it was he worst decision i could've made! day one brought a mild headache at the end of the day. day two brought a more intense headache & a general feeling of crappiness throughout the day. day three started with a full-blown migraine. YUCK! i'm on amazon right now so that i can order more ONE!

lesson learned: when you find something that works for you, stick with it!! the grass only looks greener...

***UPDATE AGAIN ***

i just ordered my 4th bottle of this diet pill it is a miracle!! i have lost inches INCHES without even having to exercise! it is the easiest to remember to take only once a day, within 20 minutes of eating your first meal and it never, ever made me feel sick or jittery! i'm wearing clothes now that i haven't worn in years, and some that i've never been able to wear (bought them too small to begin with, and kept in hopes of reaching the point where i am right now!)! it's gentile and subtle enough without exercising that no-one ever suspected that i had "help" ;-) i would recommend One to anyone who is looking to lose weight

i met my husband 13 years and almost 20 lbs ago. it's been very hard for me to lose the weight, especially as i get older, and extraordinarily frustrating for me to carry it around i've always been small & slim, and the extra 20 lbs made me miserable. i tried a lot of different things over the years, but nothing has worked like One! my favorite thing now, is *how i feel about the way i look* !! my confidence has gone up, i'm happier, and i just can't believe i finally have "my body" back!!

Well, One weight loss pills is my favorite one. I've lost a lot of weight on it. I've been buying from YoungYou since 2006 and always been satisfied with their product's quality and customer service. (I receiving Endermologie at their Rejuvenation Center) I looked at the one-star reviews some people put on One Weight Loss and they made me laugh. I understand weight loss is a competitive business, but I am wondering what is the reason to claim that the company dosn't exist. Completely ridiculous! Also, I noticed that the almost all negative reviews are posted by unverified customers, which means they never even bought the product. I am writing this because I really appreciate the company and their products. One Weight loss pills helped me with my weight problem and my girl friedns and co-workers. I hope this will be helpful!

I am coming back for my 2nd bottle of this product. I found this product to be helpful as a mild appetite suppresant, as well as helping with food cravings. The best way of weight loss, for me, is to count calories. Before I started taking The One, I was having trouble getting started with this process. This drug better enabled me to stick with my calorie counting goal of 1200 calories per day. I have lost five pounds in a month. I am not a person who loses weight easily, so I must be dilligent about following a plan. The One diet supplement just made it easier to follow my own weight loss plan. The only side affect I noticed was that it made me thirsty. That was not particularly bothersome, as that just encouraged me to drink more water throughout the day, which also aids in weight loss. I do not believe there to be any unhealthful side affects with this pill, which is why I feel confident to begin taking them again for another month.

I recommend this product if you are looking for a an aide to help you with whatever weight loss plan you are doing. This is not a miracle drug...I consider it just to be a safe tool to help along the way on your weight loss journey.

I have tried many products to help me lose weight. Most made me jittery, or just did nothing for me. This one actually did what it is supposed to do: suppressed my appetite. I am pleasantly surprised with my progress. I have been taking them for a little over 3 weeks, and have lost 8.5 pounds. I am doing some exercise(other than chasing my 16 month old)and have been eating regular meals. The only difference is I am not OVEREATING at those meals like before.

I really like the fact that it is only 1 pill a day rather than a lot of other products where it is 1 before each meal... I just can not remember to do it 3 times a day. I simply take it while I am making breakfast in the mornings.

I have to agree that I am super thirsty most of the day, but water is good for you, and the more you drink the better, so thats actually a plus.

I've read a lot of the other negative reviews, and it seems that a lot of them are simply insinuating that the other reviews are false, even without trying the product themselves. That doesn't seem very fair, but, to each their own.

Want One XS Weight Loss Pills (X-Strength) Prescription Grade Diet Pills. No Prescription Needed. Fast P Discount?

I must admit I was skeptical about this pill. How can one pill a day suppress my appetite? However, I decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. This pill really works. I had to force myself to eat. I ate healthy most of the time...except on the 4th of July and the weekend before the 4th. However, after 27 days on the pill, I have lost 6 pounds.

I exercise regularly, at least 4 days a week. I enjoy a glass of wine or Baileys on weekends (Friday and Saturday). If not for this bad habit, and eating cookies and pies on the 4th of July, I probably would have lost more weight. Nevertheless, I am happy with the outconme so far. I have already received my second bottle and will do my best to stick to eating healthy and limit the wine to Saturday nights only.

so I needed to buy it online.

Obviously, I like the product, or else I wouldn't have been searching for an online source.

The product arrived before the Amazon emails said it was even shipped. I bought it on a Thursday (after business hours). I didn't check my mail on Monday, but the box was there on Tuesday. Amazon said the product would be shipped on Wednesday, and would arrive a week later.

A note for all first time silver users

***

Don't believe the hype. Be realistic. One drop is not going to instantly cure your AIDS and Herpes and Spinal Meningitis and menstrual cramps and childhood obesity, all at the same time. But it is a powerful, and natural, germ killer. And it will cure (yes, I used the C word) things that medications cannot, or that they can only 'treat'.

.

You need to know the difference between acne caused by being dirty and viral acne. You also need to know the difference between cured and healed. Skin needs to repair itself, so you're going to need to wait a few days for redness and swelling to disappear.

You need to know the difference between diseases like Parkinson's and the flu. One is a germ, one is not. Silver only works on one. But your runny nose from the flu is your body's way of helping. A cough from phlegm in the lungs will last for days after being cured. It doesn't mean that you are sick, it just means that you need to cough it out of you. Sort of like throwing a party. Party is over, but the trash remains, until you clean it up.

I have seen people wonder why their STD keeps coming back. Maybe you're reinfecting yourself by sleeping with the same infected person! or by using the same razor and toothbrush.

I could give hundreds of examples, but no one really reads long Amazon reviews. lol

.

Again, silver works, but:

be realistic in your expectations,

know why you're using it, and

trust the manufacturer because some of them are selling cheap Chinese knockoffs.

Parker 22R - Long Handle Butterfly Open Double Edge Safety Razor & 5 Shark Super Chrome Blades

Parker 22R - Long Handle Butterfly Open Double Edge Safety Razor & 5 Shark Super Chrome BladesI've noted that most reviews for safety razors focus on how much better using a safety razor is than a disposable or replacement head system. While this is COMPLETELY true, it tells you nothing about the actual razor you are considering buying.

I've been using the Parker 22R for over a month now, and I have definitely fallen in love with using a safety razor, but I suspect there are razors that are MUCH better than this one.

The bad: the finish is beautiful, and I didn't have problems with the grip, however, the finish is flawed on mine, with discolored spots all over, especially on the bar, and it gets a very grimy look after a shave if you don't wipe it down each time with cotton.

The butterfly wings open well enough, if not perfectly smoothly, but the razor doesn't sit perfectly evenly in the head. The result is, you need to tap the edge of the razor (SOOOO not safe) to get the blade to sit straight (or run the risk of carving your face up).

Also, some have said this razor is a bit too aggressive for beginners. I am not sure if its just because the reviewers didn't adjust the blade to be straight, or if their face just doesn't love this razor. I've had no problems with it being too aggressive (as long as you use good lather).

The last bad, the 7AM blades this comes with are absolutely terrible. Do NOT use these on your face, or you will never want to use a safety razor again. They leave patches, and there is no such thing as a close shave with them. Pick up a variety pack to find one you like, but make sure it includes Derby (I like them the best of all I've tried so far).

The good: Once you have a good quality blade set in this razor so it is straight, it's easy to use and pretty gentle. The weight is quite nice, the handle is a great length, and it's pretty cheap. I haven't tried other safety razors yet, so I'm not saying this is the best one to get started with, but my learning curve was one shave. No complaints there.

Words of caution for first time safety razor users: a good razor is important, but the blade you use in it is the most important. Get a variety back to find what works best for you, it's the best thing you can do for your face.

Also, the shaving soap/cream you use is INCREDIBLY important. The general rule is, if you can find it in your supermarket or Walmart, you probably don't want to use it. Cans and foams are totally out of the question, they dry your face out despite your other best practices, and it WILL cause your face to get shredded and give you razor burn and ingrown hairs. Nothing from nivea, neutrogena, or other big names works.

I was fortunate enough to find one in Rite Aid that works pretty well. It's from the Real Shaving Company, and it's called pro-lather. It's the best I've used so far, but I am certain it's far from the best available.

If you are a first time safety razor user, your best bet is to buy soap or cream on Amazon, since it's so incredibly difficult and expensive to find a good lather out in the world. The only places I saw real shaving soaps around were the Body Shop (but they only had one choice, but it did smell and look fantastic) and JC Penny, but they only had the lab created stuff, and nothing really natural.

To sum up: Not a bad razor, though I'm certain there are better, the blades it comes with are garbage, get others (I like Derby), and make sure you buy a good soap or cream to lather with (you'll need a badger hair brush to whip it up properly), and give yourself time to get the hang of using a safety razor. It is very rewarding, in terms of having a smooth face without burn, bumps, or ingrown hairs, and it just is a pleasant tiny morning ritual. (It's hard to explain, you'll understand within a month!)

....this is a great place to start. This is my first safety razor. I wanted to make the switch to save money, since "modern" razor replacements constitute a costly recurring expense. I had also read that safety razors provided a superior shave to even the the latest multi-bladed razors.

I can verify this is indeed the case. The learning curve for this razor is not as steep as I had thought, though you cannot simply drag it around the face and neck as most current razors allow the user to. The amount of time I spend shaving is only a little longer, but this is due to applying quality shaving products, and carefully using the safety razor to produce a baby-soft shave with multiple applications of shaving cream and shaving over multiple passes. The time is well spent, and I find that a shave using this method will last much longer than before.

This is not to say you won't have some cuts or razor burn at first, since your skin has to adjust, as does the the user to new shaving habits, but the investment of time, and money is well spent.

This razor is very solid and has good weight, something you want in a safety razor since you use the weight of the razor resting against your skin to move the blade around as opposed to pressing down as most modern shavers are accustomed to doing.

The razor comes with two packages of blades, each containing 5 blades. A blade will last the typical user about 5 shaves if proper attention is paid to the correct amount of shaving cream, use of hot water, and proper care of the razor. The Ten 7AM Platinum blades are good, though I will be trying other brands of blades to determine which I like the best. Replacement of the blades is easy using the butterfly function.

If you want to try using a traditional razor that delivers great quality for an excellent price, this is the best unit to start with. Very recommended.

I have NEVER and I repeat NEVER had a shave so close in my entire life. When I finished shaving I went to the medicine cabinet and picked up my Mach 3 and a full set of five blades and threw the Mach 3 and all of the blades directly into the trash can. I wanted to review this as a woman because I have been unable to find any resources to help women using safety razors.

I am new to safety razors this was my first, so I'm not able to compare it to other models. I can say that I switched from a Venus cartridge razor to this product a month ago and it's a fine quality product. The item is a darker shade of silver than it appears in the photo. It's heavy and solid and appropriately sized for my relatively small hands. I was worried it would be difficult to use, but it's not terribly different than a cartridge razor, and probably easier to load a blade. The butterfly closure opens and closes by twisting a mechanism on the handle. I thought it might come loose during a shave, but it doesn't.

The biggest thing I've learned so far is to shave at a 30 degree angle. I started out at like an 85 degree angle and I wasn't getting the best shaves. Once I adjusted the angle of the razor I was getting much better shaves. This razor does not have any adjustable or pivoting parts, so you have to adjust the angle yourself and the trick is keeping it at that angle as you go. Now I start by doing a pass down the leg (with the grain), lathering a second time and then passing up the leg (against the grain.) I use regular Skintimate Shave Gel and it seems to work fine, however I did decide to order some Proraso Sensitive Skin Shave Soap and Escali Badger Brush for an even closer and less razor-burny shave.

Also, don't press down on the razor, just let it do the work. If you press down too hard, you can cut yourself fairly easily. There are a lot of different blades you can try out. I'd definitely recommend you start out with the more standard blades before doing something super sharp, because these are less forgiving than cartridge razors.

I'm still trying to work out the best way to do the legs, because it's a little harder to reach the back of the leg with this razor. In particular it's hard to see if you're using the proper angle, and it's even harder using your non-dominant hand, and this is where I have cut myself both times (tiny, painless cuts.) I tried in the bathtub and it requires some contortionist abilities. I tried standing up, as in the shower, and I felt like I had a lot more control over the razor and more stability. I think the shower method wins.

Overall I feel this is a great razor. It's easy to learn how to use it, but a bit less easy to master the technique. It was priced very reasonably compared to its more expensive counterparts and honestly I think you're getting about the same thing. Forty bucks might seem like a lot for a razor until you realize it will probably last you 20 years and you're going to be paying as low as 10 cents per blade.

Safety razor shaving is by far the cheapest, most effective method out there. I've said goodbye to my cartridges and I'm never going back.

Curad Extra Large Comfort Fabric, 2 Inches X 3 Inches (Pack of 4)

Curad Extra Large Comfort Fabric, 2 Inches X 3 InchesI was very pleased to find this product since I needed a large-size band aid for my sensitive skin. I have also used other sizes of Curad band aids-they are all very good. I recommend this product highly.

These fabric bandages are great for the cases when you need to keep a larger area clean. Unlike the run of the mill plastic junk one finds on the average store shelves, these bandages are made of fabric, which stretches and flexes with the movement of the skin instead of dropping off as soon as you move. They have good hold and they will stay put until you intend to remove them.

Therahoney Gel Manuka Honey Wound Gel 0.5oz Tube (Each), by Medline # MNK0005

Therahoney Gel Manuka Honey Wound Gel 0.5oz Tube, by Medline # MNK0005I had 18 stitches in my leg. It was a V shape one side had closed but the other had started healing from the inside but the outer edges did not meet. I was investigating honey online and read about therapeutic honey for wounds. So I ordered Therahoney Gel. I will forever be greatful. And am going to order more. I only wished I'd been able to get it sooner.in the first three days the swelling has gone and healing is progressing rapidly. When I had the stitches removed two weeks after the accident my Dr was worried because of the look of the side that wasn't closed I can't wait to show her how well it is healing. She hadn't heard of honey gel I told her I had ordered because I was worried about using antibiotic cream for two weeks and it is not recommended for long term use. But I will be able to use honey long term and it is healing and antibacterial.

3M Steri-Strip Skin Closures, Reinforced

3M STERI STRIP SKIN CLOSURES 1/8'' X 3'' 10 PKG/5This is another product I have chosen for my bug out bag. My wife and I have been in the medical field for over 30 years, and when we decided to put together a first aid kit, we decided that using a suture kit might cause more trauma that fixing. Steri strips are used in emergency rooms and even surgically for closing wounds. Yes there are times when sutures are more appropriate, but most people wouldn't have a clue how to properly use them. I might eventually get a suture kit, but for now I will use this 3m product.

I broke my arm and had to have an external stabelizer with four rods going through the skin into my arm. The rods caused the skin to tear. I used these narrow strips to prevent the tearing of the skin around the rods. The strips were very effective for this purpose.

These arrived on time and in good condition. They work well in dry areas on the skin. In any area that is moist, they let go and fall off. I augmented their attachment with a liquid bandage product. I put the liquid bandage on then the steri strip then some liquid bandage. I did not let the liquid bandage get too close to the wound and you have to be careful if the skin is thin or sensitive to the liquid bandage, if it is then just use the steri strips by them selves. Additionally, watch that tape from any bandaging doesn't get on the steri strip or when you change the bandage it is likely you will pull the steri strip(s) off as well.

Used these on a finger splint and had them wrapped around my finger for long periods of time.

They are strong and held up well to water, oils, rubbing, etc.

3M closure strips are the best I've tried so far and I've experimented with a bunch of brands from the local Rx stores.

An Emergency kit must and great to have on hand for those cuts that just do not qualify for a doctor's visit but could leave a scar if not closed up. I have used Steri Strips by 3M since the 1980's and have found them to be the answer to the Dr. Mom and or Nurse Mom role.

(When in doubt, always go to the doctor).

The vendor provided a timely shipment as promised and delivered on the goods. Thanks!

Lee Pharmaceuticals Lee Pharmaceuticals Lee Pharm Sayman Salve

Lee Pharm Sayman Salve, 4-Ounce BoxesThere were two medicinal staples in my mother's household while growing up in beginning for me in the late 1960s --Sayman Salve and Absorbine Jr. My mother used it and I've been using Sayman Salve since I was 9 years old for cuts, bruises and even irritations only ladies are prone to from time to time. As an adult I did not readily find Sayman Salve in my neighborhood stores and almost forgot about it. However, recently, while visiting my 75 year old mother I told her about some irritation I was experiencing and asked if she still had any Sayman Salve in the medicine cabinet. Surely, she did. Well I applied some late Friday night and by Sunday morning that irritation was completely gone. Before I could begin the work day on Monday morning I was searching Amazon for Sayman Salve and Absorbine Jr. Like my mother, I plan to keep Sayman Salve and Absorbine Jr. on my medicine shelf for as long as I live. I almost forgot how miraculously quick it healed and soothed everything from open cuts to external rashes and female itchiness and irritations (lol) but since I found Sayman Salve again, I have been sharing the wisdom of my experience with all my friends who had never heard of Sayman Salve...Thank you Amazon and Lee Pharmaceuticals!!!!

I've used Sayman Salve when bandaging a cut for years. It helps keep the wound from drying out so it doesn't crack, soothes some of the pain and helps protect it from infection. It doesn't take a lot, just a dab on the wound before applying the bandage. Mom always used it and my own 20+ year old glass 2oz jar still has a usable amount in it.

My mother used this on me and introduced me to it when I was about 5-years old. I'm now 62 and am pleased to know that it is still available, although it is a little different now. The old Sayman Salve came in 4-oz glass jars, was made in Savannah, GA, and it had camphor in it along with the zinc oxide. It still has the zinc oxide (and the lanolin) and still works just as well as far as I can tell.

Adventure Medical Kits World Travel Kit

Adventure Medical Kits World Travel KitI purchased this kit to take with me on a trip to Cambodia this past winter. I am an EMT back in the states and this kit was the perfect little travel kit. It's big enough to cover anything short of a critcial emergency but it was small enough to not at all be a burden for my backpacking trip. Went right in the bottom of my bag and I forgot it was there until I needed it, and when I did it worked perfectly. We used the medications, the cut and scrape stuff, and there was enough spare room in it to keep some homeopathic remedies with us as well. I keep this thing stocked and ready at home, as it also serves as a perfectly equipped and sized home first aid kit. Definately multi purpose, I would take this with me car camping as well.

I am an avid preparedness enthusiast and maintain two kits, one in my home and one for mobile. I lost my last Adventure Kit, which I bought and customized 5 years ago. So I was trepidatious about getting another and having to customize it all over again.

Imagine my surprise when I received this product! Very little customization was necessary. It's not as small as my original, which is great because there is lots of room for additional supplies and, it has elements that are excellent for international travel (which I do occasionally) as well as for the backwoods.

The pack is a bid heavy, but for me, the weight is worth it because of the wealth of supplies inside. Virtually every element of aid for common injuries/illnesses was included.

I would definitely recommend this to others.

I bought this kit because it got a lot of good reviews. I know that no kit can be perfect and have all the items we need, but I know that's impossible, so I figured I would need to customize it. But for the price, I expected it to have everything it says it has inside! I compared what I got versus what the pack should have according to the enclosed list' and I was missing quite a few things:

-diotame for stomach missing 2

-alamy anti acid missing 4

-acetaminophen missing 4

-ibuprofen missing 4

-medicidin-d missing 2

-disposable thermometer missing 1

-dressing gauze missing 3

-trauma pad -missing 1

-moleskin per-cut shaped missing 11

Either Adventure needs to update their kit list or whoever packed my kit did not follow the list. I'm keeping it because what is there is pretty good, but the missing items takes some stars out of the ratings.

I purchased this for an upcoming trip to Africa. It is sturdy and compact. It contains basic meds you might need for headaches, stomach troubles, rehydration, etc. Also has bandages, tweezers, and a place to add other things you might need. Comes with a chart to allow you to point out areas on your body to a medical team that does not speak your language. Seems complete.

Curity Standard Porous Tape 2" X 10 Yards Bx/6

Curity Standard Porous Tape 2' X 10 Yards Bx/6Too much trouble to return, but the picture even shows that the product says CURITY. We got tape that barely sticks-6 of them.

I've had a chronic problem with plantar fasciitis, and the doctor would often tape up my foot for a week at a time it helped but was expensive to go in and cumbersome to have to leave on for an extended time. So I decided to do my own strapping at home each day. I tried several different tapes, but others weren't strong or adhesive enough. This tape worked perfectly much like the stuff from the doctors!

This is a much nicer tape than standard athletic tape that you can buy in your local sports store since it is porous and breathable. My only issue is that my doctor had the tan version, but I've been unable to find that online. It sticks really well, so I would recommend a pre-taping spray to ease removal.

Mayday Economy 4 Person Honey Bucket Kit

Mayday Economy 4 Person Honey Bucket KitI bought this for my daughter who spent the winter in Colorado. It had a good collection of items, and the items were of good quality.

I just got this bag in. My first impression is that it's not the highest quality items in this bag, but it does seem to have everything that you need in case you get stranded somewhere. I added a better first-aid kit to it, plus a window breaking hammer, and 3 more triangles. I will add some flares later.

Recent storms has made me realize that carrying a road survival bag is a super good idea.

--------------------------------------------------------

After going through this kit a little more, I feel that it is over-priced. I think that you can probably find a better roadside kits at a cheaper price here on Amazon.

Also a couple of the items listed in this kit were missing: The 'Revolving Sign Light' and the 'Distress Banner' was both missing.

The hand warmers are one-time-use chemical hand warmers.

I just dropped my opinion about this kit down to 3 stars. Winter is here and the items in this kit will probably come into play. But as I stated above, you can probably find a better kit here on Amazon.

Adventure Medical Kits SOL Origin Survival Tool

SOL Origin Survival Kit and Essential Survival ToolsSOL is a good company and has some quality products, but unfortunately this "kit" is not one of them. For what you get the kit is far too bulky, not nearly comprehensive enough for the price, and the combo knife/whistle/light is just outright junk.

You can build your own much more comprehensive "pocket kit". I'd start with a top quality Wenger 16981 lock blade Swiss Army Knife (has a great saw and other useful tools and it is available here at Amazon) and add the other items included in this SOL Kit. You won't spend much more than the SOL kit and you'll have much better equipment in a smaller space.

I bought a survival kit tin from bepreparedtosurvive and added Katadyn MicroPur Purification Tablets In Your Choice of Styles, a liter water bag, a Streamlight 73001 Nano Light Miniature Keychain LED Flashlight, Black, a Adventure Medical Kits Fox 40 Rescue Howler Whistle the Wenger 16981 Evolution Lock S 13 Swiss Army Knife Ergo Grip With Safety Lock Blade a few strips of removable backing duct tape, a few survival food tablets, some 250lb kevlar thread, safety pins (free from the dry cleaner), a signal mirror, a fresnel lens (solar fire starter), a flint + steel and some tinder, a few fishhooks and small spool of BRAIDED fishing line (doesn't tangle like monofiliment line). I also added a BugX Insect Repellent Towelette 25 Foil Packs/Box 30% DEET in a Water Based Formula That Is Non-greasy and Non-staining. Stuff a few bandaids, steri-strips, and a packet of neosporin in the odd spaces left over and you'll be pretty well prepared for minor emergencies.

Wrap the tin with an Adventure Medical Heatsheets Emergency Blanket, and some more kevlar thread then put it in a ziplock for a real pocket kit. That's food, water, shelter, fire, and tools all in less space than the SOL kit which lacks some of these basic requirements.

I bought this little SOL kit, thinking it was of the same caliber as some of their other products, but right from the beginning I was disappointed with the bulk, poor quality, and lack of components. This is a cool gadgetty toy, but it lacks substance, and the backbone of the kit, the knife, is weak and easily broken. It's a wannabe tool in a toy survival kit. You can do a much better job yourself, even using the cheap and ubiquitious Altoids tin.

Sorry SOL, you just didn't get this one right.

I have been waiting for this item since it was first announced.

The list price from the 3rd party amazon seller ($84) is much higher than the actual MSRP ($60). However amazon's discount brings it down to a reasonable cost, compared to other buying options. Just make sure you don't think you are getting 40% off, because you aren't.

The case is big. Think 2 or 3 altoids tins stacked on each other, or 2-3 decks of playing cards. It does fit well into a baggy jeans or jacket pocket though. The case is very well made, from nice hard plastic. The main container has a rubber o-ring to provide waterproofing. It seems like it would take reasonable drops or impacts quite well.

Unfortunately, the usable space of the box is much less than you would get from 2/3 altoids cans. This is because over 1/2 of the thickness of the box is taken up by the built in tools. Now, if you consider that you would also take up that space if things were loose in the box, it comes out pretty fair, but there is "dead" loss due to the structure that holds things in place, and you lost flexibility in choosing what to pack. I wish they had the case more open, with the tools just loose inside to maximize space and flexibility.

The knife is nice, but not very durable. It is very small (swiss army sized?), but fits well in the hand, and has a nice blade. The knife is exceptionally easy to open one handed (the easiest knife to open I have, except for the assisted open ones). The handle is light plastic however, so any heavy duty (or really even light/medium) chopping or battoning would destroy it immediately. The knife is really only useful for cutting cord/cloth/seatbelt or perhaps shaving some small sticks into tinder etc. You could use it to fillet a fish, or clean a small animal. Certainly better than nothing, but any serious carrier will need to have a more heavy duty knife. The knife has a lock to hold it open, and locks into the case with a small button to release. While you can open the knife easily one handed, it is a tad bit hard to get out of the case one handed. I really recommend carrying a higher quality knife in addition to this for almost any situation

The light on the knife is pitiful. A very low intensity LED. Possibly good enough for providing very close up light to see by while lighting a fire or something (assuming you are lighting the fire a few inches away). Completely useless for navigation/signaling/travel. This is the brightness of a single LED keychain light for getting a key into a lock etc. Possibly could be used to read by.

The whistle on the knife is decent. Not equal to a dedicated howler or something though, but very convenient, and much louder than yelling.

The compass is simple and functional. No where near as accurate or reliable as a dedicated military style compass, but serviceable in an emergency. The compass must be held perfectly level. Even a slight tip causes the edge of the disc to touch the plastic and freeze the compass so it does not rotate freely. The compass is stored outside the case, so drops and impacts could shatter the bubble fairly easily rendering it broken.

The fire starter is basically a cigarette lighter, without the fuel. Easy to use one handed, and tosses out some nice sparks. Certainly not as powerful as a dedicated flint/magnesium/blastmatch, but good in a pinch. Make sure you spin the wheel the right direction.

The signaling mirror is very nice. Equal to ones purchased individually. Has a nice aiming hole, and some instructions. Comes with a protective sticker applied as to prevent scratches. Not removable from the case.

the supplies are ok. Some tinder, wire, twine, and aluminum foil. Also a small fishing/sewing kit. They barely fit into the case. You would certainly want additional supplies such as a survival blanket (which would absolutely not fit in the case)

All in all, you can absolutely find MUCH higher quality and more powerful tools if you buy separately. However, the case is convenient as an every day carry item to make sure you have at least minimal basics with you at all times. If you are the kind who carries a real knife, real flashlight, multi-tool, etc at all times then the kit probably has less value, but I will likely keep it in my jacket pocket all the time for use as backup

For those considering an "all in one" survival tool such as the various 7 in one, 6 in one tools available this one is CLEARLY superior. The other ones out there are absolute junk in comparison, and do not provide a knife or the consumable supplies. It is however quite a bit bigger and more expensive.

For me, this will replace the 7 in one I was carrying (heading to the trash!). The BlastMatch I carried will get moved into the backpack kit instead of the every day kit. I will continue to carry an assisted opening folder, and a more powerful pocket flashlight.

Buy Adventure Medical Kits SOL Origin Survival Tool Now

If you're a serious outdoorsman, camper, survivalist, or naturist, you're not going to buy this kit anyway. You'll construct your own kit out of best-of-breed equipment. For the normal guy who needs something in an emergency situation, the Origin rocks. I don't understand the sentiment from others that the kit is cheaply constructed. I pounded six tent stakes into the ground with mine. It's made of *very* thick plastic.

Yes, if you used the tools in this kit on a routine basis as your primary gear during camping trips, they would not last. They're not meant to. They're meant for emergencies. The knife in this kit is not meant for you to give up your primary field knife ... it's meant to be used if you find yourself without your gear and you otherwise have nothing else to rely on. It also teaches a beginner to focus on the absolute basics necessary for survival.

Put this in your car, bugout pack, or minimum carry kit. It's an excellent tool of last resort.

Depending on who you are, and for what scenarios you plan to use this, determines whether or not this kit is for you.

I write this from a perspective of an advanced backpacker with extensive military training, including various survival training. I am not a Bear Grylls nor any other type of professional survivalist. In my younger days, I loved the challenge of self-induced suck-fests. I consider myself an able enthusiast, not an expert.

I find the biggest question I faced with the SOL Origin was if it was worth the cost. Here is my opinion. For beginners, yes. For advanced folks, it is worth it as an easy toss in backup to a primary kit, maybe for the fanny pack when leaving behind the main backpack. For the seasoned outdoorsman, make your own kit and save the money.

For the average Joe, the beginner, this kit is an exceptional insurance policy. It's simple. It's basic. It will help you survive an emergency situation for a short period until help finds you. For $30 some bucks, it's cheap insurance that's easy to toss in the car and take along on a nature trip.

Why is it so valuable for this kind of person?

First, it's there. No kit is good if you don't take it with you. I wouldn't call it pocketable unless you like big things in your cargo pocket, but it is easily packable. Second, it provides the tools to overcome the biggest threats to emergency survival: regulating body temperature (fire/heat), signaling tools in order to be found, a guide to find a good water source, and tools to help find and get food. This kit doesn't do the work for you, but it assists the novice in figuring it out.

Let's break down the content.

Survival Guide: This gives you the basic fundamentals of survival. It will arm you just enough to make it to the "Get Found" stage. It will not turn you into Man vs. Wild. I do wish some of the graphics were better done with a little more explanation for the novice. The biggest value, in my opinion, is the instruction on getting water, in a generalized environment.

Fire Starter and Kindling: The fire starter relies on the same principle as the common lighter used by smokers, except that there is no fuel. You spin it just like a lighter and sparks fly. It has rubber grips to help you hold it securely. The included kindling will get a fire started, but it won't keep a fire going. Before lighting the kindling, be sure you have a collection of small, thin, dry twigs. The included kindling is designed to start a small fire. Along with your small, thin, dry twigs, you'll want another collection of small sticks that have some meat to them, but not thick like a log. After you have a good fire going with the bigger sticks, then you can burn bigger pieces of wood. As you can see, the kit gets you going, but you still have to work to get the fire.

Signal Mirror: If you've never used a signal mirror, learn. It's easy to practice in the back yard on a sunny day. In a survival situation, and in the right condition (various degrees of sunny), it is a powerful tool that can get you found from many miles away. Why a signal mirror is superior to any old reflector, is because you can aim it fairly accurately. If nothing else, it's a handy mirror while camping.

Whistle: On the opposite end of the very same fire starter, is the whistle. Anything that can extend the range with which you can be found, is valuable. When the sun isn't shining, blow the whistle. In some conditions where the sun doesn't shine, sound actually travels better and further. Blowing a whistle also takes a little less out of you than yelling. Every little bit counts in an emergency situation.

Compass: Generally speaking, it is best to stay put when lost. However, if you generally know what direction a road, trail, lake, river is, this will generally get you there. It is not a precision compass like the kind I used in the military for land navigation, but it points north and is a valuable aid. It doesn't matter how good you are, in the thickest of woods at night, everyone can get disoriented.

Knife: This is a small knife and yet will be a handy tool. It fits nicely into the bottom of the case. The blade seems sharp and has a nice curve to it for filleting and cutting. Like everything else, it is bright orange. Since the knife is pretty small, you will appreciate that it is easy to see and find. Common knife use often means setting it down at times and small knives are easy to lose in nature.

Light: The knife also incorporates a small LED light. I like this one because for being cheap, it is not a press and hold light. You can click on it and it stays on. It's not a powerful light, but it gets the job done in a pinch. It's not a flashlight, it's a small light source that's there when you need it. This light should last hours even with the small watch type battery.

Sheet: For a simple sheet, this has many uses from signaling, to gathering water, to storing things. I didn't open it up, but I don't think it's big enough to be a body blanket.

Needle/Sewing Kit: I see this more for fishing. It's not enough to help you live on the land for a month.

Wire: It's there. There are situation where it would be handy. I just don't see it as the go to item in this kit, unless your emergency becomes extended. Then, it could serve you well with a little more advanced skills.

Lanyard: In situations where you are using this kit, make sure you have the lanyard attached and in use. You don't want to lose this.

----------

I returned this kit for several reasons.

First, the plastic latch had a small break. Every time I opened it , the latch would pop off. Very annoying. While secure, it did work, so no worries about losing the seal on the watertight compartment. However, I don't want to be searching for that latch when it pops off every time.

Second, I decided to build my own kit. I know what I need and want. I know that the tools I want need to be more robust. Furthermore, I want to be able to live off the land if need be. My kit does just that. My kit also costs far, far more than this, and fills up an entire medium-sized backpack.

Third, for me, I live and breathe tactical. I wanted a kit that could serve both as an emergency survival kit that gets me by until I'm found, and for the unlikely doomsday scenario, provides the tactical means to remain out of sight and out of mind. I like things that can serve more than one function.

If you are like me, this kit is not worth the money. However, it's not to say it is a bad kit. It needs to fit the right person for the right situation, and it in that case, it is a great item.

Altogether a wonderful bit of kit. We keep it in our Get-home-bag in our minivan. Once you remove and attach the lanyard, there's enough room to put a SE MT908 11 Function Credit Card Size Survival Pocket Tool inside.

When one SERIOUSLY considers the usefulness of fishing hooks in an urban or even a wilderness setting, one can forthrightly suggest replacing them with something more relevant. If you truly live near fish that you can actually catch, there are other kits more suitable. Other than suturing wounds (with barbed hooks? Pitiful sight, that) I can't imagine anyone in the 'hood making practical use of them. Virtual Skyhooks may be a possibility. ;-)

There are some YouTube videos about "always carry" kits created by certified obsessive-compulsive folks that will simply AMAZE you as to what you can stuff into a mint tin. Have fun; go saunter about over there and see what you discover.
