CT Mask for COPD or Asthma
lives in cold climate. The design is good and the product works very well.
Would recommend it. Only recommended improvement would be better fit over nose
which is not quite snug enough to avoid eyeglass fogging.I live in NE illinois and my primary exercise is walking outdoors for 45 minutes 3-4 days a week. Some days are quite cold and I could feel the efects of breathing sub freezing air. I wore the mask for the first time yesterday 02/15/2013 and am overall pleased with the performance. The mask recircultates the air I exhale which is warm and moist. I wear eyeglasses which did fog up, but that was to be expected. The mask contains a removable rubberized capsule which is washable. The manufacturer recommends washing it after each use. I washed it prior to using the mask and it took about 36 hours to thoroughly dry.
Downsides are that replacement capsules are not advertised on Amazon, so if I want and extra one I will need to contact the manufacturer. Also, the shipping and handling charge was $13 plus dollars which was excessive given the container box dimensions were only 5x5x5 inchesThis product gave me a new freedom that scarves and other face coverings never did. .....the ability to venture out regardless of the air temperature. A very wonderful product.

Most of the items from this reseller are overstock from the old Linens n things retail stores this product is no different. This chain closed in 2008 and sold off all their inventory in 2009.While that may be fine for cotton swabs and a plastic bag, it isn't a good idea for liquids and things like bandaids. The clean and clear facial cleanser smells rancid and I don't think anyone should use that on their face.
Also, the plastic bag included with this is massive.
The band-aid products are made in China and the first aid kit is made in Brazil.
To top it all off, none of the liquid products are sealed. Sorry save your money and buy these items (fresh) from your local drug store or Target. You don't need 5 year old facial cleanser.

My 6 years old son has been using eye patches daily (at least 4 hours a day) over two years. We came to this one because of the price. It looks cheap but works Ok. It doesn't cause any skin problem but won't stick as well as Nexcare. I used to be able to buy Nexcare at less then $2 for a 20 count box, but now the price became almost X4! We will back to Nexcare if the price dropped back. The patch works, although a little small for my big adult head. I have to remain expressionless or else I will feel the patch tugging at my skin as I try to smile. The patch could use some flexibility. Reminds me of why it was so hard to keep these things on as a kid :(Comfortable and stay on all night (when I need them). They are durable enough to wear all day if needed.Kleenex Safeskin Latex-Free & Powder-Free Purple Nitrile Gloves

For those use to the generic, drug store disposable gloves these things are a revelation! They actually usually last until the end of the job you are using them for without tearing quickly, and with these you actually seem to have a better grip on things. Highly recommended.Johnson & Johnson Red Cross Tough Pads (Hydrocolloid Adhesive Pads), 2.8 Inch x 2.4 Inch, 4 Count
Though this is a review for the larger pad, the rest pretty much do one thing right: they minimize immediate and eliminate long term healing pain. With scrapes that go beyond the superficial dermis layer, I noticed a problem: white blood cells would seep out to fight infection, though there was no scab to allow it to do its job. Instead of the scrapes drying out, they would just ooze white blood cells for days...
Thankfully with this, it acts as an artificial scab that is flexible and will never crack under any condition. The cushion it provides when the adhesive comes in contact with fluids from the wound is indispensable. Ive noticed healing time is shorter than with traditional bandages and if you wait long enough to remove the bandage, it will almost seem as though a miracle had transpired: the cut or scrape has disappeared!
I am writing this after a tumble I had while I was snowboarding. The pain from the scrape was pretty bad and I was sure it would leave a gnarly scar but after having changed the bandage, I'm confident there will be no scar. The best part is if disinfected properly, scrapes that would otherwise be susceptible to infection are completely protected from external bacteria. Advanced healing bandages are a product I will keep in my medicine cabinet for the rest of my life.I had never used these until a week ago. I had to buy new boots for my uniform and they tore up my heels pretty bad. I went straight to the nearest drug store and bought everything they had for blisters, including these Band-aids. these were the last ones I tried because I didn't think they looked like they had enough padding. I was SO wrong! These are BRILLIANT!!!! They act like natural skin, and absorb any bodily fluids to create a padding like a real blister would, but these don't hurt. The who9le surface is adhesive, which worried me a bit, but it's not sticky to the point it hurts to remove. I was so impressed and pleased with this product, i went out and bought another 4 boxes for any future boo-boos :)
These are the new staple to my medicine cabinet, replacing all the other band-aid things i used to buy.
THESE ARE AWESOME!!!!! I love these patches.
A couple of years ago, I fell on my concrete backdoor steps. I ended up with a hole just below my knee. All the skin was stripped off of an area about an inch and a half in diameter. The wound was more than 1/16 of an inch deep. There was no skin left. I am an older woman, and diabetic, so I had quite a bit of concern about infection and healing. I cleaned my wound thoroughly, and applied one of these patches. Abut 4 or 5 days later, I removed the patch to see how it was doing, and was very surprised to see that the wound was granulating in from the edges, and was very clean. I applied another bandage, and again left it on for several days. I did this about 3 to 4 times. Today, there is no sign of the injury except a slightly paler area of soft skin. There was no infection, and no scaring. Although what is there is considered a scar, there is no apparent difference in texture from the neighboring skin. I have used these patches in other instances, though not as serious, and have had the same results. I think they are an outstanding product, and well worth the price. And the price here, was very reasonable.I became a fan of hydrocolloid-type bandages after picking up a random pack on sale at a local drug store. These types of bandages form a barrier around the wound and also suck up some of the moisture released by the body (hereto referred to as "ick") forming a moisturizing gel which helps naturally heal the wound. Put simply the bandages have a substance in them which reacts to your body's "ick" (usually called "exudate" in the medical world) and forms a gel which helps keep the area moist. This moist environment allows the body to heal more quickly than an open-air wound which requires the body to form scabs and other "temporary" scar tissues.
The upside? These types of bandages usually help the wound heal more quickly than traditional bandages and also generally reduces any scarring (not completely, but less than if not used).
The downside? Well, they're generally really expensive sometimes costing a dollar or more per bandage.
That's why I like the Johnson & Johnson Tough Pads. The pads included in the box are 3" x 2.25" and are very easily cut down into smaller dressings. Whenever I use these bandages I generally find that I do not need the whole giant pad and the problem with "blister bandages" like the other manufacturers make is that there's a lot of wasted bandage used to wrap around the wound area that's really not required.
There are a few things to keep in mind with any type of hydrocolloid bandage:
1 If it's a bleeder (or a weeper), these probably won't work. Basically the moisture will "overload" the gel and make the whole bandage non-stick, eventually just peeling off.
2 They generally won't work on a super-active spot compared to something like a "heavy duty" bandage. The adhesive will most likely peel off and once the initial "stick" is broken, these don't really re-stick very well.
3 They're very, very noticeable. The bandage starts out a bandage-y type of pink/tan color, but the area over the wound generally turns a shade of white and then blows up like a small bubble (and it's squishy... you'll probably end up poking at it because it's neat). Unfortunately if you're going for subtlety, these aren't the best choice.
Once you try a hydrocolloid bandage, you probably will never want to use a normal bandage ever again. When that becomes the case, I highly recommend these Tough Pads for the sheer economic value they represent. This works great on cuts and scrapes that are not deep. You just put it on and go about your everyday chores. I changed mine after four days and by then the wound was healed. You can wash dishes, take a shower, etc and the wound is protected. I just love it for minor cuts. But the directions say do not use on deep puncture wounds.
Adventure Medical Kits Comprehensive Kit
If you work or play hard in the outdoors (I used to do surveying in the back-of-beyond, as well as a lifelong camper/backpacker/bikepacker), this kit is all you could hope for, with a few suggested additions. Get the EpiPen or other epinephrine injector the included book recommends, and I'd highly recommend getting a second SAM splint, the SAM instructional DVD/Video, and a pack of SAM finger splints.
There's a list of suggested for-emergency-use prescription medications; if you get them, also get a 14-day supply of each prescription medication you (or a family member) need on a daily basis. If you're getting this for an earthquake or other natural disaster kit, you'll need them anyway. Have them in this kit to make them easier to find. If you take OTC medications, add a pack of each of them as well; you can rotate them out yearly. If you change your smoke detector battery on Daylight Savings Time change days, it's also a good time to go through this kit and update it.
It's a bit heavy, so you might have to split up the modules if you're backpacking in a group, but this kit can handle many of the oops moments we all see in our lives, and not just in the outdoors. When I'm not out and about it sits in my house, where it's handled everything from scalp wounds to broken bones and even severe burns. Even if you're rushing out to the nearest hospital, this kit can bring a calmer mindset to the patient, as it's obvious you're at least ready and able to help.
Just make a list of what you use and refill it! I can't stress that enough! That's the most common error with getting this kit people don't get the refills and are out of a critical item in an emergency.
This kit's worth it 16 years on mine and still going strong! You can't go wrong with Adventure Medical Kits. Get this one, get another, but GET ONE.I got this kit as I was putting together our home disaster/earthquake preparedness kit. Overall, I am very happy with it. It is very comprehensive and contains many things I doubt (I hope) I would ever need even in the severest circumstances. I'm not going to list the contents as that would be fairly impossible, but below are main points of my experience:
* Layout I really like the layout of this kit. It unfolds into multiple sections, each one providing good access to the contents contained therein and which are clearly visible. One very nice thing is that it has a detachable and independent zipped and water resistant kit that you can make portable from the rest. This is handy if you need to split up medical duties or go mobile with a truncated first aid kit. As it is, the kit folds up to a fairly compact bundle, which is amazing for all that is in it.
* Capability I am impressed with the selection of bandages, pads, medications and general first aid supplies in this kit. It does seem to cover many areas well: cuts and abrasions, pain, diarrhea, sting, and allergy relief, blood loss, sprains and dislocations, and also provides a fairly good first aid manual.
* Quality All the medications were within their valid dates and most had a couple of years left on them, which is close to the expiration date of most meds anyway. The tube of glucose (for hypoglycemics?) had ruptured out the end of the tube due to a faulty seal, however. That part was not cool. So not only did that make the glucose ineffective if I needed it, it also smeared some things in the vicinity with a nice, lemon-scented goo. (Read: Bear Magnet) In the end, this was only one thing and didn't make me feel that the kit overall was low quality. In fact, I am generally impressed with the quality of the kit. The case itself, with zippers and pouches, are all of good quality and should last through time and use.
I got this kit in a hurry as I was assembling my disaster supplies and I got lazy and just wanted something that had everything. While it really is a good kit and should cover all my needs, I should have put the majority of it together myself. One reason is perishability. When meds, even common ones, are embedded in a kit, you are less likely to rotate the old stuff out with the new. It is better to have a discrete section only for common and prescription drugs that can be easily checked on a regular basis. Secondly, a better kit contains those things that you think you will need, not what a general kit attempts to do. We have small children, for example, and that necessitates some unique things that aren't necessarily stocked in a general kit. Also, no kit can have everything it's just not possible. So I've been adding to this one some additional gear: Splints for fingers and limbs, more of certain sizes of bandages, etc.
I have other first aid kits by AMK and they are generally excellent. I have modified all of them, however, to suit my individual needs. This comprehensive kit is very good for large groups or for an extended period for a family and covers quite a bit; I think it would have been impossible for me to assemble the same gear individually for the price.

Comes with everything you'd need for a month long excursion in the wilderness. Not only does it have everything, but unlike other first aid kits I've bought the items in this kit come in quantities large enough to be useful and used again. Actual tubes of product instead of a just a small rip open package sampler. The only thing I purchased separate to add to this kit was two packs of Celox just in case any of my group incur a severe wound that won't stop bleeding even with a pressure dressing.Read Best Reviews of Adventure Medical Kits Comprehensive Kit Here
Looked like it had been in storage for far too long, some sterile packaging on a couple of items was compromised, and several medications were very near their expiration dates. Customer service response from the vendor was not great, they offered a $20 rebate, but after a few exchanges they reluctantly agreed to take it back and give a refund.I bought this for our neighborhood as part of our emergency preparedness equipment. Perfectly organized with labels, convenient size and portability, and it comes with instructions for treating common wounds. It's not the cheapest out there but when an emergency happens you won't be searching through half a dozen compartments trying to figure out what you need.Home Health Wool Flannel Large Size -- 1 Cloth

Using it for Castor oil packs. I got this for my dog, she has a large fatty tumor. Problem is getting her to lay still for an hour with a heating pad. It would be nice if they made ones with strings that I could wrap around her body. As it is, I have to sit there and hold it on her. She doesn't like that anymore than I do.Oh well, we'll figure it out.

If these were elastic instead of plastic I would give them a higher rating. Unfortunately the plastic doesn't allow the wound to breathe and thus the skin starts getting sweaty/oily quicker and ruins the adhesive. Well... I have some major skin inflamation ALL over that never goes away no matter what I do, even with prescription meds. Some stuff helps, but it never goes away. After ONE application of this stuff, I had a major improvement to the bumps, redness, dryness, itching and elasticity of my skin!!! This stuff is wonderful.
I don't know what else this stuff is supposed to do, but I know it works for skin. I am so excited! The old saying born with a silver spoon in your mouth came from the more affluent where they gave their children a silver spoon to suck on. This is a natural antibiotic and anti viral mineral. This has been known for years. My doctor gave me a prescription cream anti biotic for a staff infection I got on my foot. It did control its spread, but as a diabetic it did not cure it. I used this gel covered with gauze and tape and it was healed in three days. It was still a little red looking so I continued for two more days until it completely disappeared. Later I got a staff infection in my finger nail where I had a Hang nail, that gray looking infection, I used this stuff with gauze and medical tape applied every morning after my shower and it was gone in three days.

We've made ASAP Ultimate a central part of our first aid kit for a couple of years now. It's been great for speeding up the healing process for burns, cuts and so much more. We've used ASAP Ultimate on our dogs several times, including twice when there just were not funds to pay the vet for stitches. ASAP Ultimate and vet tape left a smaller scar than the one with stitches. My son keeps a tube in his tool box and we have another with the fishing tackle. I have recommeded it to several friends.Equate - Nicotine Lozenge 2 mg, Stop Smoking Aid, Mint Flavor, 24 Lozenges
