Neosporin Neo To Go Antiseptic Pain Relieving Spray, 0.26-Ounce

Neosporin Neo To Go! Antiseptic Pain Relieving Spray 0.26-Ounce 1-CountCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm going to be right up front and say there isn't much to review about Neosporin, even when it's Neo To Go.

BUT, here's the scoop -

This Neosporin is different from those squeeze tubes you can normally get, instead it's in a small container with a push button that sprays the treatment directly onto the wound, etc.

What I like about it: (1) Handy for those with kids to toss into purse, diaper bag, etc.; (2) No greasy residue on hands to clean off your hands.

What I don't like: SMALL portion for a BIG price. Handy, but for the price conscious, it's a really bad deal.

Without the hefty price tag, this would have been a five star product.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Not sure if this packaging is necessary. Love neosporin and always have it on hand for home, office and travel bag. I don't feel a need for a harder package or for a spray. I like to dispense as small amount as possible and find the spray dispensing to a wider area than just the sore. This may be better for children.

Buy Neosporin Neo To Go Antiseptic Pain Relieving Spray, 0.26-Ounce Now

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Neo to Go! is a handy little product. About the size of a thumb drive (for techies), or a pack of Juicy Fruit (for gummies), and with a handy little loop that you can clip to a day pack for hiking, toss into a first aid kit for the car or toiletry bag for travel, or slip into a purse for your (or your kid's inevitable) cuts, scrapes, paper cuts, etc.

The loop protects the spray button to prevent accidental sprays. In addition, the spray button takes a bit of a push to engage ... a benefit in my opinion. It does not require *strength*, just *intent.*

The product provides a fairly wide spray of antiseptic/analgesic. Hold the spray nozzle close to help prevent overspray, or hold a few inches away for a wider pattern.

At the playground, on the trail, at the gym, or just going around in everyday life, Neo to Go! is easy to carry and useful in preventing infection.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This Neo to Go! gizmo is perfect for pocket or purse...for any rough and tumble athletic practice, hiking, mountain climbing, or just for clumsy folks like me, who slice and dice their fingers every time they chop parsley. When I received this little compact sprayer, I was ready with a nasty cut on a finger joint that had turned red and had hurt for a few days. After a couple of squirts, and a couple of hours, it is painless, and pink instead of red. Quite a miraculous change after such a small amount of Neosporin.

On the card it is packaged on, there is a diagram which says "Specially Designed"..."One Hand Use," and shows an index finger going through the hole to press the lever for squirting; I found it quite hard to do with my index finger, but very easy with my thumb, so you may have to find the most comfortable way yourself. Active people, parents with little league kids, and bumbling bunglers, keep one of these Neo to Go! on hand.

I am not the type of person with a phobia of germs but I use a lot of neosporin. I get cuts and scrapes a lot on my hands and my hands also dry out pretty bad during the winter. In both situations, neosporin is awesome. Though I usually use the ointment for my hands. The 'Neo To Go', I carry when traveling. I have been in more than one situation where a relatively minor cut interfered with R & R time and so I carry this and a small package of band-aids whenever I'm traveling. Yes, the spray angle is kind of wide but that's by intent. You want to disinfect the whole area, not just a 'spot'. This is how you prevent infections. Overall, it seems to do a great job.

The Original Aroma Therapipe, Salt Pipe, Respiratory and Asthma Aid

The Original Aroma Therapipe, Salt Pipe, Respiratory and Asthma Aid(I have a very similar Himalayan crystal salt inhaler to this onenot this exact one, but I wanted to share my experience)

My mom was bugging for me to try the salt pipe for a while, as I've suffered from increased asthma/ respiratory ailments since moving to Los Angeles 8 years ago. I have to admitI was skeptical, and it seemed a bit too hippy-dippy for it to really be all that effective. However, she finally purchased one for me after my Advair had ceased to help anymore, and my coughing fits were getting worse and more frequent.

All I can say is WOW. I noticed a HUGE improvement within a few days of using it. I had all this gunk come up from my lungs (you do cough up a bit of congestion, but better out than in, right?), and the coughing went away as well. I was surprised at how effective this wasI let it lapse for a week, and my coughing reboundedstarted back on it and the coughing went away.

My advair ran out the same time I started the salt pipe, and I haven't had to refill the prescription since. I'm glad I've found a replacementthe advair isn't cheap, and even though this seems like it'd be a pain to use the pipe for 10-15 minutes a day, you just use it while watching TV or on the internet, and it goes by without you even noticing it.

The only thing is to watch out that you don't breathe out through your mouth. (you can get the salt wet that way, which makes it less effective)

I would HIGHLY recommend to anybody suffering from respiratory problems from air pollution/ asthma, etc...

My 4-year-old daughter has very weak lungs, and every respiratory virus turns into pneumonia. She became ill right after her salt pipe arrived, and I had her start using it immediately. Instead of a trip to the emergency room, countless drugs, and a two week stint in bed, she was home sick from school for just one day, and for the first time I can recall in over two years, she appeared to have just a "normal" cold.

The Therapipe is an interesting concept. I like it so far, and it encourages me to breathe deeper. We get in such a habit of shallow breathing, that we forget to stop and use our breath for healing. (Yoga philosophy) I like that part (aside from the massive yawning that deeper breathing promotes). Since I started using it 3 weeks ago, I have been breathing free and clear, with only an occasional need for my prescription inhaler. (once per week or so) I'm not sure if I can attibute it entirely to the Therapipe, as I have been seeing a Chinese doctor who has been treating me with various herbs and acupuncture as well. I am both hopeful and skeptical that this thing works. THE CONS: The Therapipe requires that you breathe it for 20 min. per day (which can be broken into 2 sessions). 20 minutes in a busy day can seem like a long time. I'm in my car a lot though and this is a handy place for me to use it. However, I have a little anxiety that a cop could pull me over, as it could easily get mistaken for a bong. On the up side, I suppose I could find another convenient time and place to use it. :o) Also, in the instructions, it says not to remove the little silicone flap that goes over the hole. Well, one day it just fell off and I now have to plug the hole with my finger. Not a big deal though, and very easy and natural to do, as it is made like a flute and the hole is by your finger anyway. The last con is that it isn't refillable. THE PROS: The Therapipe will theoretically last for 5 years. It's safe. The salt, should you taste it at all, is pleasant (as opposed to the taste of prescription alternatives). It also has a pleasing shape that is ergonomic and fits naturally and comfortably in your hand. All in all, I think this is a great and potentially miraculous little invention, with the pros outweighing the cons and I 100% recommend giving it a try.

COPD sufferers have few alternatives to their breathing plights which don't include a trunk load of side-effects ..... this little inhaler (looks like an albino pinquin) is different, it helps aerate your respiratory system with salt air much the same way one benefits from a walk on the beach (if that is, you felt like taking a walk anywhere other than to the next chair).

Newsflash, based on the daily improvement I'm experienceing with salt-pipe therapy, I feel not just comfortable but obligated to write this review to help ease another person over the "oh, it can't really work syndrome"...folks like you & me who've struggled to breath minute by minute day to day for too long and feel resigned to keeping the status quo for fear of another disappointment...I honestly believe this therapy can help or I wouldn't endorse it.

No, I am not healed & may never be but that walk on the beach will become a reality in the near future, hope to see you there.

I admit that I had reservations about investing $60 on something so relatively unconventional to treat my asthma and lung infections. Now, I can say only how glad I am that I took the plunge. Within three days of my using the pipe, my lungs were completely clear for the first time in THREE YEARS. Yes, twenty minutes a day can seem like something of a chore when a prescription inhaler takes only a moment to use. All I can say is -make the time! You won't regret it. I'm planning on purchasing another one to keep in my desk at the office, making using it a lot easier to fit into my schedule (and to have a backup). I've been able to stop taking virtually all of my (expensive) meds.

Amazing!

Aircast Airlift PTTD Brace

Aircast Airlift Pttd Brace Right SmallI bought this shortly after Posterior Tibial Tendon dysfunction PTTD was diagnosed. I wear it (or another one) whenever I will be on my feet for many hours. It took almost a week to arrive, which was a drag, but so much cheaper to buy it here instead of from the orthopedic Dr. My ankle was improving from wearing the brace but then I sprained the ankle (I did not have the brace on). The same brace has been a godsend for the sprain. It was a bad sprain, so immobilization of the roll was essential. It does the job.

It does not fit in most of my shoes. I use a lightweight elastic support for lighter use of my foot.

For PTTD with high arches, aircast makes another brace for about $20 more cost, almost identical but with an air bladder in the arch--it is awesome comfort. After the initial inflation to get the bladder perfect, I have not had to change it -it has held the inflation perfectly. I spent 4 long days at Disney and Universal and the PTTD did not hurt (though both of my feet were tired, as to be expected). The brace with the bladder is what I wear to Zumba. My female shoe size is 8 1/2. I wear a medium in the aircast with bladder, but a small in this one on Amazon (without the bladder). The brace with the arch bladder fits best in a size 9 shoe.

I have had both braces for over 7 months and they have been worth the cost, and barely showing signs of wear When I wear one, my foot is pain free at the end of the day. It is worth the nuisance to put it on when I will be on my feet a lot, which is almost every day for at least part of the day. I take it off when at home.

Excellent for PTTD troubles. Did help a great deal ... but: you will have to wear two pairs of socks. 1 for beneath the brace and one OVER the brace because the Velcro catches on to your pants leg. This means your foot will be too wide to fit in anything but a lace-up sneaker that is one size larger than your regular size. The brace inflates a sack below your arch, lifting the arch which alleviates one of the problems with PTTD. The brace also keeps you from pronating which is also a problem with PTTD.

DON'T buy a Small size unless you are very petite or child-size.

I ended up buying one for the other foot which helped me walk better, helped me heal faster. Wearing one made me feel lob-sided. I am finding a bit of skin irritation from either the heat of all that wrapping, or the material of the brace.

The brace is worth buying but I hope you are not in a hurry. Check the shipping dates.

UPDATE JAN 2012

Another reviewer wrote about how these will stink. I can't get the smell out and they are falling apart.

My doctor put me in an immobilizer, a soft cast, up to the knee. He said PTTD needs complete immobilization. My ankle feels better. Maybe you should save your money and buy an immobilizer.

Johnson & Johnson First Aid To Go! Mini First Aid Kit

Johnson & Johnson First Aid To Go! Mini First Aid KitWell, it doesn't amount to much as a first-aid kit, but I found this mini-kit at my grocery store and bought a couple. One is for the car glove compartment, the other is for my office desk. I've got bigger kits available at both locations, but these are real handy for those little unexpected cuts and scrapes Plus, it's so small you can easily carry it around in your pocket when hiking or something like that. The kit has cleansing wipes, gauze pads, some band aids in two different sizes, and it all comes in a little white plastic case. Nifty!

Early to Rise - Exhilarating Bath and Shower Gel

Kiss My Face Cold & Flu Bath Shower Gel- 1 PackI'm a marketer's dream, really--the first time I saw Kiss My Face Pure Olive Oil Soap, 8 oz bars at my health food store I laughed out loud and bought a bar for the sake of the entertaining name and the chemical-free composition. It turned out to be a great soap for days when my skin needs to kick up the moisture.

This shower and bath gel, though, was a gift, and a joke gift at that. It's called Kiss My Face Early to Bed Moisture Bath & Shower Gel (16 fl oz.), and the joke is that I'm known for staying up much too late. And what a dreamy gel it is! The soothing botanical scent lingers just a little, just enough. The bottle claims to contain clove, chamomile, neroli, lavender, ylang ylang and jasmine. I can't pick out all the separate botanical aromas but the overall impression is of lavender and other sleepytime things.

This gel makes a very slick lather that rinses away completely, leaving a pleasant moisturizing effect. Of course the company makes no promises that you'll go to bed early, but this is a VERY soothing shower gel. There are other formulas in the line and maybe next time I'll try Early to Rise.

It's good to know that I'm using an all-natural product from a company that values the environment--and has a sense of humor. (* Subject line is from the Kiss My Face mission statement.)

These little beasties seem OK. They're 4 1/4 inches long, which isn't long enough to double over the finger, so you may want to consider the 9 inch "wrist" splint if you want that. They're cuttable with EMT scissors, but the edges will have to be trimmed with tape or the like because the metal is so sharp.

edit: I haven't tried real SAM splints yet, but I've found these starting to come apart.

Anti Snoring and Sleep Apnea Aid. Nasivent 100% Grade Medical Soft Silicone Nose Dilator. Increase

Anti Snoring and Sleep Apnea Aid. Nasivent 100% Grade Medical Soft Silicone Nose Dilator. Increase Oxygen and Lowers High Blood Pressure.I have been using this nasivent tube for several weeks now and have enjoyed good results from it. Too little airflow through my right nostril is a key problem for me, so I surmise this product would be quite helpful for people with deviated septums. The Nasivent tube has fallen out of my nose a couple times while asleep, but this is not due to poor product quality, but rather my abnormal nasal anatomy that makes fitting the tube into my right nostril a bit tricky (I have implanted alloderm tissue on my right lateral wall that compensates for a removed inferior turbinate, and the tube bumps into that). If my nose was normal, it would probably fit snug, as it does in my left nostril. The silicone material is quite comfortable and, as soon as I place it in my nose, I can sense the air I am inhaling significantly better. It's like air whips right into my nose.

I use this product in combination with an oral appliance and, together, both have effectively solved my sleep apnea. As a result, my sleep quality is excellent now, for the first time in years. No more guessing on whether I will wake up feeling restful or tired. Rather, I always wake up rested whenever using this combination, and I in fact have found that I sleep better with this than with the CPAP, the latter of which can be noisy and takes much more maintenance. No more CPAP for me!

I highly recommend the nasivent tube.

Nasivent Product review:

I am a side-sleeper. I have allergies and tend to get sinus infections. I was having trouble breathing through my nose at night. I've felt tired in the morning for years and would sometimes wake up during the night feeling like I couldn't breathe through my nose.

I did wake up a couple times during the first two nights because it was strange to have something in the nose, but after two nights I no longer noticed it.

After the first night, I couldn't believe how rested I felt in the morning. Nasivent definitely helps open the airways more than when I don't have it in. Apparently I hadn't been getting enough air during the night due to blocked nasal passages and sleep apnea. When I started using this product, I felt more rested in the morning than I had in years.

Snoring reduction was only a side issue for me as my main concern was trouble breathing at night, but this product quieted down my snoring. My wife says my snoring was reduced in frequency and volume, although not completely gone. This product may be most helpful to reduce snoring for people who snore due to blocked or narrow nasal passages or congestion from allergies or sinus infection.

My Ear, Nose, Throat doctor said these are similar to what he calls 'nose cones' which he said perform a similar function. I know this particular product works well for me.

My Allergist also had me try Breathe Right external nasal strips, but after a couple weeks they caused a lot of irritation on the outside of my nose. For me the Nasivent worked as well or better than the Breathe Right strips and the cost of nasal strips adds up quickly since they are not re-usable.

Helpful hint push the tubes in your nose to a comfortable depth. If there is still tube sticking out of your nose, you can trim off that amount from that section of tube. This way the tube is flush with the outside of your nose, which makes wearing it MUCH more comfortable and makes it less likely you'll knock it out during sleep. I've found I can use 2 of the 4 sizes that came in the package, but I do need to trim them at different lengths as the wider size does not go in comfortably to the same depth.

If you have sinus congestion problems that are keeping you from sleeping at night, here are two other things that really helped me:

1) I use NeilMed sinus wash with their 8oz squeeze bottle twice per day to minimize congestion and to flush all of the yucky stuff out NeilMed Sinus Rinse.

2) I find the sinus wash even MORE effective if I add 1 to 2 tablespoons (1/2 to 1 oz) of Alkalol to the 8oz NeilMed Sinus Rinse solution. Alkalol will clear your sinuses like nobody's business and has REALLY improved my sleep! If you look at the Amazon product reviews for Alkolol, you will see it has VERY POSITIVE reviews. If you like the Alkalol sinus wash, an inexpensive way to buy it is using Amazon's "subscription" service which delivers it once per month with no shipping fee.

IMPORTANT Nasivent mainly addresses the shape of your nasal passages and keeps your nasal passages open. If you are having trouble breathing at night, please consider talking to your doctor about getting a sleep study. It may be obstructive sleep apnea which may require a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machine (CPAP) instead of, or in addition to, Nasivent. Fixing your nose with Nasivent, Snorepin, BreatheRight strips or even sinus surgery (I tried them all) may only address a symptom, not the root cause. I used Nasivent successfully for many months, then had sinus surgery, but eventually found I had a larger root cause which was severe obstructive sleep apnea and I needed to go on a CPAP machine. If you can't breathe at night, talk to an Ear Nose Throat, Pulmonary or Sleep Medicine specialist. Not breathing at night is just dying in slow motion, it's really not good for your body and can lead to many heart and other issues.

I'm a regular amazon user, but this is my first review. I haven't felt strongly enough about anything I've purchased to summon the effort to write a review until now!

It's important to understand what you're paying for here: its a piece of medical grade silicon hose cut ~2.5 inches in length with a slit in the middle to divide each end for each of your nostrils. I'm not oversimplifying here; its really just a piece of hose. For $25, I would have expected a custom molded product contoured to fit my nose. I cant imagine the raw materials and processing for this product would cost more than $1 to produce. The packaging probably costs more. Because the ends of the hose are in fact cut, and not molded, there are sharp unbroken edges which you're shoving up your nose. It's painful, it made me sneeze uncontrollably, and it wouldnt stay in my nose. My nose is so irritated and swollen from trying to insert these up my nose that I can barely breath at all.

If you're still curious about this product, you could save yourself $25 and pick up something similar at your local hardware store.

I have been the perpetrator of nasal snoring (as opposed to throat snoring) for many years. (sorry, dear wife!) I have tried a great number of interventions some of which do not apply because it is dependent on my sleeping position, some of which did not work for a variety of reasons.

The most common devices to keep the nasal passages open are the strips that adhere to the outside of the nose: great if they have enough force to do their job and enough adhesive to keep them there. Not so great with that sticky remnant every morning unless they have already peeled off overnight.

Some in-the-nose devices have worked better to keep the nasal passages open, but they were far from comfortable. Anything with sufficient clamp to hang onto your septum overnight is going to be annoying.

So, when I saw Nasivent I thought I would give it a try. Made from surgical grade silicone tubing, the four sizes provided will surely include one that fits your nose. I found that two worked well with me. The beauty of this system is that the tubing cannot collapse and within moments of insertion is almost impossible to notice. (I have, on occasion, gone to scratch my nose after I have inserted the tubing and am reading before sleep and startled myself to feel the Nasivent there had forgotten it was in already.)

The results? Much better, uninterrupted sleep! Welcome back in with my sweetie. More energy during the day.

And it is so simple and almost invisible to the casual observer had an overnight in coach on the AutoTrain recently and no one seemed to notice I had my Nasivent in but I do know that I got 8 hours of great sleep and when asked no one around me had heard any snoring.

If you have exhausted all the other "remedies" and are still exhausted after a night's sleep interrupted by too many snorts, try the Nasivent.

New-Skin Liquid Bandage, First Aid Antiseptic Spray (over 40 Applications), 1-Ounce Sprays (Pack of

New-Skin Liquid Bandage, First Aid Antiseptic Spray, 1-Ounce SpraysAs of this writing, I have a small cut/crack on the skin of my finger, in an area where normal bandages don't stay on very well due to flexing and rubbing. So I thought I'd try using a spray bandage, and this was the product I decided on.

The good news is that it actually works pretty well. The bandage has helped to hold the wound closed, and has actually helped prevent the skin underneath from drying out, part of the reason why it cracked to begin with. After a day, it's still in place and seems pretty durable. It's completely transparent, which might be nice or might be a downside if the wound is unpleasant to look at. Functionally, it seems to live up to its advertising pretty well.

I'd really recommend the product, except for the one little detail about actually applying it to damaged skin. I washed and dried my hand carefully, and then within about a second of spraying it on, I was enduring a searing agony I have not before experienced from a consumer first-aid product. While gritting my teeth like an epileptic, I literally stared at my hand with my eyes wide open, almost chanting in a mantra to reassure myself that my finger was not actually being slowly hacked off with a pruning saw. This sensation gradually abated over a period of about 2 minutes. I sprayed on a second coat about an hour later thinking the first coat would protect me from a repeat of the experience, but of course I was wrong.

The packaging makes the claim that this product is useful "for larger areas" -a statement which given my experience with a small cut on my finger, reveals to me a level of unashamed sadism I can't readily comprehend.

One potential use for this -when doing really dirty or greasy work, it seems worth experimenting to see if this substance would allow for more easily or completely getting one's hands clean. Spray on rubber gloves if you will. I'm going to give that a shot tomorrow.

I cut my thumb on a mandoline slicing onions. A terrible cut, won't go into the horrid details, I probably should have gotten a stitch or two. Any way ... I used New-Skin spray on the cut the next day as I had it bandaged the first night tightly to stop the bleeding. I have NEVER had a cut heal so quickly. I was amazed!!! I burns like fire when you first put it on but the pain goes away quickly, so warn the children first. I put some on some scratches on my arm and they healed right away also. I love this product and will always keep some on hand.

Bought this to try on my dog, since conventional bandages fall off easily. Before I'd try this on my dog I thought I'd see how well it worked and had scratched my leg the day before. Simply put this is LIQUID FIRE, but I suppose the burning sensation is knowing that the cut is clean. It also does smell once applied but hardens pretty quickly and is difficult to remove once on. And I found it hard to apply without dripping, so an applicator would be a better choice. And after the trying it I ultimately decided not to use it on my dog. But it is a good thing to have in your bag when camping or those hard to bandage areas.

Dixie Ems Dixiegear First Responder Stocked Trauma First Aid Kit, BlueI'd been researching quite a bit, trying to find a good first aid kit for my family's emergency backpack (to be kept in the car we're in earthquake territory). It seems like other first aid kits just didn't offer enough. That's when I realized I needed to include the word "trauma" in my searches. This lead me to many more appropriate kits that were larger and had a larger variety of necessary items. However they were a lot more money. This one seemed too good to be true when I saw it here on Amazon so I actually called the company in Brooklyn, N.Y. Hopefully I didn't make the guy rethink what they're selling cause I kept saying what a good deal it seemed to be. ;) The bag is about the size I'd imagined not as small as most first aid bags but not one of these big tote ones you imagine the pros having either. It's a good medium size, maybe a bit larger than I expected but not too large for putting in an emergency backpack. Also, if you don't add a lot more items to it, it's flexible so you can shove it in there or even empty contents (use just the bags inside it) if you're really concerned about space. It's a good bright color (blue) and sturdy and roomy, and has two roomy pockets on either side that are empty. I put toiletries on side and water-purification items on the other. The items came in two sealed bags and everything inside seems to be of good quality, e.g. scissors don't seem flimsy at all and everything else seems to be of good quality as well. We'll add excedrin and sunscreen and other things we might need (and if I saw iodine in there can't remember now be careful cause iodine allergies can be deadly though most people aren't allergic).

My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a little booklet of instructions including CPR, but I assume that's cause it's more of a professional's bag. Frankly, I wouldn't have the first clue about how to use the CPR mask and all its little contraptions, nor a lot of the other stuff. I'm also planning on calling them back to see if they have their own booklet of instructions I can get from them just cause it'll fit the products better. If not, I'll just go buy one. So with that in mind, it's not quite as inexpensive if I have to go buy a book still!

Last thing I want to say is that there's a lot of stuff in those bags so I suggest looking them over in advance with some sort of instruction book (however you get it) unless you're already a pro because if you have an emergency on your hands and have to rummage through the stuff, it might be a bit overwhelming. What's nice is that each of the two plastic transparent bags have lists facing the outside which say what's inside of each bag. So that will definitely help.

Edit: I finally got all the stuff out the other night and organized and labelled each item, separating them into smaller ziplock style bags. Since these will be in an emergency backpack which needs to be lightweight, the big bag it came with is just taking up room and adding unnecessary weight albeit not much. What I did while doing this is I looked up youtube videos about how to use each of these items, based on the items' names that were on the lists the bag came with. So now I have a fairly strong understanding of how to use these things. I also added a few items to such as a Quikclot, a thermometer, a CPR mask to go with the shield, a pen light that has replaceable batteries, israeli battle dressing (compression bandage to wrap around a pad on a wound), a pair of latex-free gloves (which brings it to two pairs which should be enough for true emergencies), aspirin in case of a heart attack, tweezers, and a small mirror. Many of these ideas are thanks to other people's suggestions in these reviews.

I started looking into a first aid kit to keep in my car to be used in case of an emergency to either to help someone or myself. I even bought a first aid kit years ago, which consisted mostly of band aids and was sufficient for minor cuts and scratches, but not nearly enough for serious emergencies.

In a typical car accident these small injuries are the least of your worries. In a serious accident you get bleeding, head injuries, broken bones, burns, knocked out teeth, loss of conscious, shock, and even a cardiac arrest. That's when I started looking for a trauma kit.

Things I've added to the kit:

3 Pairs of non-latex gloves

1 36" SAM Splint

2 SAM Finger Splints

1 35g Celox pouch

1 CAT Tourniquet

1 Halo Chest Seal

1 6" Israeli bandage

1 Ambu Res-Cue CPR mask (in addition to the CPR Face Shield)

1 bottle of eyewash solution

1 Save-A-Tooth

1 Silver Cinch Compression Combat Dressing (The "H" Bandage)

1 Z-Pak

6 3M Steri-Strip reinforced Skin Closures

1 metal tweezers

2 packets of uncoated 325mg Aspirin

Things I'm not keeping:

wire splint (replaced by the SAM splint)

tourniquet (replaced by the CAT tourniquet)

airway kit (requires special training to use, and takes up a lot of space)

seat belt cutter (replaced by an EMS knife)

I'm not sure whether or not I'll keep the ammonia inhalants. Some people have allergies, and it is often better to keep the casualty unconscious while medics get there.

The bag is now fully packed, and there is no more space left in it, except perhaps for a bottle of aspirin, and minor stuff. But I think, I've included everything I wanted.

There are a lot of trauma kits available, some are big and expensive EMT/paramedic-level kits, and some are small for individual use. I needed something in-between to keep the casualty alive for these 10-20 minutes until the ambulance gets on scene. That's why I didn't include things like a needle decompression kit, and am removing the airway kit.

I think this is the best trauma kit available on the market for the money for someone without a healthcare provider training, but in my opinion it is not complete. I do have First Aid and CPR training, but to be honest, these classes teach so little, that I had to learn more stuff on my own, especially, how to deal with trauma. So besides adding the above stuff to the kit, I had to learn how to actually use it.

Before buying the additional items, I carefully researched each of them. For example, I decided to replace the supplied tourniquet with the CAT tourniquet, because the latter one has 100% success rate, according to some army research; so does Celox, that's why I chose it over QuikClot.

Yes, these quality items are not cheap, and I've spent more on them then on the trauma kit itself. But if it helps me or someone else, then it is worth it.

The bag itself perfectly fits under my seat, and is not too large, but big enough to fit all of the extra stuff I bought for it. I just wish it had a bit more pockets, although there is one Velcro pocket that can be attached to either side of the middle compartment.

I do recommend this trauma kit, but if I had to look for one again, I'd probably buy an empty bag and get individual items separately. I have done enough research to put one together myself.

As a patrol officer I have been meaning to get a med kit for some time but hadn't found one that really had what all I wanted. This kit caught my attention and I ordered it. For the price you cant beat the quality and amount of medical gear a first responder needs. I couldn't speak on behalf of a medic but for a patrolman it has anything I would need to patch up one of my own until the medics arrive including a nice tourniquet. Overall very happy, hopefully ill never have to use it but its good to know its there if I do.

This kit is great and has everything a good starter kit needs. The bag actually includes an organizer for the main compartment which let me fit everything in the center section while still staying organized. It also has non latex bandages which is great for those with latex allergies. The 1 pair of gloves that the kit comes with seem to be latex, though.

I just added in more gloves, a better CPR mask (the one the kit comes with is a face shield type), some extra gauze pads, misc pain killers/meds, and an ace bandage wrap. These went into one side of the bag. I put some emergency food bars and water in the other side of the bag.

MASK SURGICAL FACE - CONE Size: 50

MASK SURGICAL FACE - CONE Size: 50These face masks work pretty well, but since they are much more stiff compared to the cloth (surgical) masks, they don't seem to fit as well more gaps around the edges. I use masks to keep from inhaling pollen and dust when I'm cutting my lawn on a dry day.

My wife is a teacher, and she uses these to simulate gas masks when the students do a WWI "trench warfare" exercise in the classroom. The masks work great for that. Thd kids color them green.

Crest 3d White Stain Shield 5 Minute Touch-Ups Teeth Whitening Strips 28 Count

Crest 3d White Stain Shield 5 Minute Touch-Ups Teeth Whitening Strips 28 CountI've used several types of Crest Whitestrips, and I've always found them to be effective. There's a special skill you need to stop the problem of these particular ones sliding, however:

Keeping your mouth shut for five minutes. Five ENTIRE minutes.

Did I just blow your mind? It's apparently really tricky for a lot of reviewers.

To the people complaining that this doesn't work, these are meant to maintain your newly whitened teeth AFTER you use the regular crest strips for 30 minutes. These are NOT meant for dramatically whitening your teeth at all.

This removed tobacco stains I had on the back of my bottom teeth, along with whitening in general. EASY to apply everyday. Can't really get much better in 2010.

The second star is only for the looks of the package... there are better items from the same company like the premium strips.

I had to write about this product because I have been using it for quite a while and cannot say enough about it. I have used just about every whitening product out there, including dentist bleaching trays and laser. I had been lazy to do it again the last few years because of the comittment of time, or pain( as in the laser. ) I bought these and I can easily commit to 5 minutes a day while getting dressed. It did take 2 weeks to see a noticeable difference, but after that they just get whiter and whiter. I get comments all the time on my teeth, and after using the product for about 2 1/2 months I now use it every other week to maintain the whiteness. I am thrilled there is something this easy to use, and I have no tooth sensitivity either. 5 minutes a day is sooo easy to do, you won't mind that it takes a couple of weeks!

Neutrogena Oil-Free Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, 4.2 Ounce

Neutrogena Oil-Free Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, 4.2 OunceBoth my boyfriend and I use this face scrub and love it. One of the reasons he uses it is because it does not smell feminine, it has a neutral odor to it. Its a white, creamy like scrub. I use it in the shower on my face and neck before I wash my face with the cleanser in the morning. I like it because it gets all the dead skin off and leaves my face feeling fresh. My boyfriend says it helps with ingrown hairs on his face. I highly recommend this product for both men and women and with this price its unbeatable.

I've been using this for about two years now and people keep telling me that my skin looks great. I have combination/sensitive skin (the kind that flakes or looks red) so take it from me, THIS WILL DO YOU NO HARM. I haven't used makeup in months! LOVE THIS STUFF.

There are so many skin types, but this one, in combination with the Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask (with benzoyl Peroxide) works great for my 30-something skin. Still prone to break-outs, these products alone keep me break-out free. (I may have an occassional pimple when I am under stress.) I cannot recommend this product enough. Many scrubs contain saylacidic acid which breaks out my skin horribly. This one does not have that, but is just a great exfoliator with the micro beads. AND it smells wonderful!

ADC ADLITE Disposable Penlight with Pupil Gauge (6 Penlights)

ADC ADLITE Disposable Penlight with Pupil GaugeThese pen lights work great. They have a nice bright light and I am still working on the first one after several months. So, the battery seems to be pretty good, too.

Got as gift item. I am rather particular about stuff and have to say these penlights are nice. You have to hold the pocket clip down to turn them on, so there is little chance of them coming on and staying on accidentally. Reasonably priced some places want this much money or more for just one pen light.

The ones that work are ok. Unfortunately half are dying and the lights aren't near as bright. This is a bummer and I'll have to find more lights that work soon. I wouldn't recommend these unless you like getting half-dead products.
