I need earplugs every night -I'm a terribly light sleeper in a somewhat noisy environment. Most hurt my ears in very short order. These do not hurt at all. However, both my husband and I find that we need to cut down the "flared" part of these ear plugs to make them comfortable, or there is simply too much material left sticking out of your ears. We then find that they don't cut sound all that much. Still much better than nothing, but not fabulous. I have used the orange and yellow Laser Lite ones, and we also cut the flares down and they still keep sound out a bit better than these. They are rated higher, so that makes sense. Those are pretty comfortable too, so I'm thinking that if I order again, I'll probably go with those.
