3M Micropore Paper Surgical Tape With Dispenser 2" X 10Yard Hypoallergenic - Model 1535-2

3M Micropore Paper Surgical Tape With Dispenser 2' X 10Yard Hypoallergenic - Model 1535-2This is the best tape in the world for holding on dressings that need to be changed often. I change my dressing every 4 hours and the tape never leaves any residue. I'm allergic to a lot of tapes, but not this one. It holds like crazy yet comes off easily enough and leaves no residue. What more could you want?

I thought that i ordered 2 boxes of 6 for $12.23 x2 $24.46 and what i received was 2 single units $12.23 a unit, I was misled by the price for $12.23 is what i usually pay for a box of 6.

In my opinion Amazon is perpetrating a RIPOFF of people on fixed incomes and should be held accountable.

Tourniquet Latex-Free (Pack of 10) Disposable

Tourniquet Latex-Free DisposableThese tourniquets are inexcusably poorly made. The first tourniquet I tried to wrap around a test dummy's arm immediately snapped in half. You can make them work if you are very careful with them, but they won't create enough tension, and will snap within 3 or 4 uses. The best word to describe these tourniquets is "fragile". Buy something else, these may seem like a deal, but they are a complete rip off.

Just as pictured. The one's I got were blue & rolled up tight. I tried putting one on. Seems to be good. Whether the rubber begins to degrade sooner than later remains to be seen.

Perfect for what they are made to do. Keep It Simple Stupid. I can carry 10 of these in my pack/med kit and they are nearly weightless. Now how many times are you going to need 10 of them when you go out? That would be a real bad day. Very happy with this purchase.

We all have bandaids, dressings, tape and ointment; BUT what happens when you or a loved one cuts themselves badly and bleeding, and forbid an artery in the wrist..........only a tight tourniquet will apply enough pressure to save your life. Now a leg would require any belt, pulled very tight, and 911 is the only way to go, but for those prescious few seconds, these are an absolute neccessity for small areas............trust me!!!! And 10 for this price is just too wonderful! I carry two in my purse at all times for my family.

I bought these tourniquets for use with my IV training kits. These are the same ones that hospitals use when drawing blood. Inexpensive and gets that job done.

LiceMD Complete Kit with Comb and Gloves

LiceMD Complete Kit with Comb and GlovesPurchased both the non-pesticide version of the Lice MD and this version (pesticide containing)when my daughter brought home the dreaded lice letter from her school. Another student in class had been determined to have lice in her classroom. Having no personal experience with lice, I googled pics and info about lice and at first it appeared that she did not have any...until a few weeks after the letter had arrived. Then I started spying odd little lint like specks the size of white poppy seeds stuck to my both of my daughters (6 & 3) hair shafts all over their heads. I had my hubby check my head and he found the same thing on the underside of my hair. Luckily he did not have anything, but he uses a rogaine/monoxidal product that probably is not hospitable to cooties. After repeated scans I still could not find any bugs but I had the sneaking suspicion that the "lint" that wouldn't come off was actually nits/eggs. Since I'm currently pregnant, I was VERY leary about using pesticide products on my head. I contacted my OB and they gave the go ahead to use the pesticide version if needed. I ordered the non-pesticide Lice MD and the pesticide Lice MD along with a Nit Free Terminator Lice Comb. Prime shipping got the non pesticide version and comb within 2 days-the pesticide version was out of stock and took longer. I would definitely recommend purchasing the Nit Free Terminator Lice Comb to pair with the treatment, since the comb that comes with the package was worthless. Before adding any non pesticide Lice MD to my 6year olds hair, I took a test pass with the Lice Comb...YUCK!!! BUGS!!! There were 2 bugs immediately in the tines of the comb crawling on the hair that came loose with the pass. The bugs were SO MUCH smaller than what I expected. The online pics made me assume that the eggs were poppy seed sized and the bugs would be sesame seed sized...ummm NO try more like the period at the end of this sentence sized (except oval shaped). They were light brown colored and crawled quickly. Once the evidence was there, I applied the non pesticide Lice MD throughout both of my daughters hair and had my hubby comb through mine. We only used minimal amounts to comb through our hair and went through 1/2 a bottle between the 3 of us (6 y.o. shoulder length thick straight hair, 3 y.o. mid-back length thin wavy hair, me mid-back length medium thickness straight hair). We found around 15-20 live bugs on my 6 y.o., 2 on my 3 y.o. and 0 on me (I had been feeling too crawly after seeing the eggs that I had treated my hair with a white vinegar soak for 10min followed by olive oil soak with hair wrapped in plastic bag for 1 hour the day I ordered the products). When combing the eggs and bugs out, I squished both eggs and bugs between my thumb nails to make sure they were dead (they would make a small popping noise if they were alive and I killed one). I followed recommendations to wash all bedding and currently worn clothing in HOT water, stuffed animals and throw rugs were washed in HOT, and unwashable items were bagged in a garbage bag and tied off in a non frequented area of the house for 3 weeks. I vacuumed the carpets and furniture and swept the hardwood floors. I diligently lice combed our hair daily for the following 2 weeks. THANKFULLY we were able to get rid of them with our first attempt and without the need for the pesticide (although I've kept it on hand just in case). The whole experience left me so rattled that I still check our hair weekly.

Dynarex Sterile Alcohol Prep Pad, Large, 10 boxes of 100 Pads per box

Dynarex Sterile Alcohol Prep Pad, Large, 10 boxes of 100 Pads per box**UPDATE: Each individual packet says "Made in USA", but the outer box says "Made in China". I emailed someone on the Dyanrex website to try to get a clarification and will update this as soon as I hear. If anybody else knows, please comment. For now, I'm lowering the five stars to four due to the confusion and concern. I'll update my review further after I find out anything. **UPDATE: Here's the response from the company:

Dynarex BZK wipes are actually manufactured in the USA. Sorry about the confusion on the packaging but we in the midst of changing that.--DYNAREX CORPORATION

-----

SAVE WITH BULK AMOUNT: I hesitated to buy these because I read a review once that Dynarex weren't going to be as good, so I tried small quantities of the higher-priced brands first, then finally ordered these. I am so glad I did, because so far, I see no difference whatsoever between the higher-priced brands. Since I go through so many, I'm glad to have found the most cost effective.

KILLS E. COLI BACTERIA: BZK wipes are the only type of intimate personal cleansing wipe (maternity use, etc.) I know of which claims to kill E. Coli if, like me, you get recurring E. Coli urinary tract infections. (It's important to wipe front-to-back when using them.) The active ingredient in Hygea Obstetrical wipes was the exact same as in the plain PDI or in this Dynarex brand: BZK = 0.13%.

STORAGE: To store so many, I found the most darling tiny dresser that fits in my tiny bathroom: Household Essentials Chest with 3 Drawers, Paper Rope.

HOSPITAL'S USE BZK WIPES: Professional and hospital use skin cleansing towelettes containing Benzalkonium Chloride. They use whenever antiseptic cleansing and refreshing is needed for patient care. I do worry about the long-term use as they are absorbed through sensitive skin--not sure what they will do to my body. But, right now, I have no choice in this battle against recurring E. Coli UTI's. Plus, I figure if doctor's offices use these, they must be safe.)

DESCRIPTION/QUALITY: None of the individually-packaged wipes were dried out in my first order. The wipes were generously moistened--almost dripping wet. They were not too small when unfolded, and not too large. They held up well during wiping--did not tear. No problems with shipping or delivery; arrived in good shape.

CONVENIENT: Individually wrapped for your convenience, making them portable. Also, less worries about them drying out or becoming contaminated. Individually wrapped is more hygienic.

INSTRUCTIONS: Use AFTER first wiping with toilet paper. Always wipe front-to-back. NOTE: If I ever need something bigger and more like a cloth than the BZK wipes, I like: Preparation H Medicated Hemorrhoidal Wipes with Witch Hazel and Aloe, 48-Count Refill for hygiene, (but I don't know if the witch hazel kills E. Coli or not).

WARNINGS:

-Flammable, keep away from fire or flame.

-Do not use in the eyes! (Don't forget and accidently wipe your face with these, keep away from your eyes.)

-For external use only. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

-Discontinue use if irritation and redness develop. If condition persists for more than 72 hours consult a doctor. NOTE: Since I had bothersome after-effects from the camphor/deodorizer, I am discontinuing use. The first time you use any product, test a small area first.

ABOUT E. COLI UTI's: E. Coli spreads from contamination from the intestines. It probably first originated from something you ate--make sure all meat is well-done and all fruits and veggies washed well before consuming. The teeny bacteria sometimes creep into the urinary tract, wreaking havoc as they infect the bladder, then become dangerous--sometimes even life-threatening, when they've infected your kidneys. A routine urine test often won't show them... But if they grow a culture for a few days from your urine test, then the little buggers more easily show up. Antibiotics kill it, but in some cases, they become resistant to the antibiotic. Holding in urine too long can help E. Coli spread. Taking a bath rather than a shower can increase chances of reinfection; as can sex. Probiotics help boost your immune system, but do not cure them if you're already infected. Cranberry supposedly makes it harder for the E. Coli to cling to your body, so it's easier to urinate them out. But cranberry can also increase kidney stone formation and blockages make E. Coli harder to kill. Extreme hygiene is essential. Using wipes with BZK to kill the E. Coli, helps in the preventative battle.

BONUS INFO--HOW TO DEAL WITH DOUBTING DOCTORS about CHRONIC E. Coli UTIs: If the doctor balks that E.Coli UTI must be recurring due to outside contamination from your poor personal hygiene, and it would be rare for the positive urine culture to mean that your bladder truly is infected again, insist that the nurse draw the urine directly from your bladder with a straight cath, to prove to the doctor that you indeed are infected internally yet again. It only takes a few minutes lying back on the table right in the exam room and doesn't hurt. (I am so glad I insisted on this, it made a world of difference in how my Urologist took me more seriously.)

IMPORTANT: Recently, it was in the news that a lady in Maine DIED from an E. Coli UTI, and the article said it was getting more and more dangerous, so this is not something you should let go. Some of us may have to join the ranks of those taking a low-dose daily antibiotic to fend off the recurring E. Coli UTIs, if all else fails, sigh. Hope this helps someone. NOTE: I'm still getting recurrances, so may soon have to join the growing ranks of those having to take a daily low-dose antibiotic, sigh. People like us use BZK wipes EVERY time we use the restroom in this ongoing battle to kill off E. Coli.

OTHER PRODUCTS I'VE USED TO TRY TO PREVENT E. COLI RECURRING:

-PDI or Dynarex BZK Antiseptic Towelettes

-HandClens Alcohol-Free 2 in 1 Foaming Hand Sanitizer & Lotion, 8-Ounce Bottles

-Dial Professional 02936 Dial Complete Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash Pump

-Hibiclens Antimicrobial and Antiseptic Skin Cleanser

-Preparation H Medicated Hemorrhoidal Wipes with Witch Hazel and Aloe.

-Probiotics to keep healthy bacteria growing to fight-off bad bacteria. I use Ultimate Flora Critical Care oral probiotic daily. Once a month, I use FloraFemme vaginal suppository. Every 2 to 3 months I'll add in a treatment of Luvena vaginal pre-biotic.

-NOTE: I was trying daily Lakewood PURE Cranberry Juice, 32-Ounce Bottles watered down with a little Diet Ocean Spray cranberry juice and also tried cranberry pills; but had to cut down to once a week due to potential side effect of formation of kidney stones.

-BONUS INFO: (If your UTI's are related to kidney stone obstructions, did you know that hyperparathyroidism--benign tumor on your PARATHYROID, not thyroid--might be the root cause of your kidney stones and a multitude of other serious health problems? A simple blood test for PTH and calcium will diagnose if kidney stones are because of parathyroid disease. If both are high, you have a tumor and get thee to the Parathyroid unit at Tampa General Hospital in Florida for an easy outpatient removal. Hope this helps someone!) Stopping obstructions will HELP in the fight against recurring UTI's, I've been told.

Though price is low, the pads are made in China and I am not feeling confident with quality, especially safety due to alcohol is involved. When I was placing the order, the pads were stated as made in the USA by amazon.com. (Otherwise I would not consider at all if pads were made in China or no manufacturing origin was written.) I was very surprised by realizing these pads are made in China. As reports regarding safety in China's products in question or health hazard are always alerted, these pads are unlikely a consideration anymore.

In fact, the papers of these pads are rough and they might hurt the wounds, skin of patients. I am not sure what kind of alcoholic smell is good or normal but it has a smell which is faintly different from the pads which are made in USA. If I need to judge, absolutely, US manufacturing alcohol pads are recommended.

I think I expected a larger pad in general... they really are more like a teeny bit bigger than medium. But that's not the real complaint. These pads have a funny "aftersmell" which I really don't like. Smells weird, like... well, not like alcohol. I've not experienced that with many other pads I have purchased in the past. They do the job.

Johnson & Johnson First Aid Waterproof Tape (Pack of 2)

Johnson & Johnson First Aid Waterproof TapeThis tape is serviceable, but it isn't the strong, thick white tape I was expecting. Kind of gray, and not as stick as the tape that usually comes in this type of pack. But the seller gave me a bunch of it for free so no complaints there.

We ordered this taking a chance that it maybe only a 1/2" wide. The photo indicates that it is a 1 inch, however the description state that it is 1/2 inch.

Medical Pack Insert - Fully Stocked by Rescue Essentials

Medical Pack Insert - Fully Stocked by Rescue EssentialsReceived this item fairly quick. Rescue Essentials is based in Colorado so I would imagine it would be pretty fast anywhere in the US. The Pack Insert is already filled with the items so its ready from the start. The three removable pouches have space inside them to add items. Out the box this pack will provide bleeding control and some airway maintenance. The shears and other tools are good quality and store nicely in the webbing. My only complaint about the tools is I would have liked a small penlight to be included in the kit.

My plan was to split the three pouches into one Airway pouch and two Trauma pouches. Using the provided tape and mini Sharpie I was able to label the three pouches. The Airway pouch is the mesh one and I am not sure how well the tape will stay on. For each trauma pouch I added a hemostatic, 2 chest seals and extra gauze and wrapping. The Trauma pouches are identical and can independently be used if you have multiple victims. The included Tourniquet is now attached to the insert with velcro and I plan to add a 2nd. The Airway kit has 2 NPA (included in the pack) and a set of OPAs purchased through Amazon. I replaced the included pocket CPR mask for a mask able to attach to a Bag Valve.

Other than not having an included light I am very happy with the kit. Before you run out and buy the empty one hoping to save some money look at the contents of this item and do the math. This is a great deal considering what the include.

I love the roll out, and will buy another one, this one came pretty much how I would stock it. I am a platoon sergeant for a medical platoon, and always looking for ways for my soldiers to blend in, and still be able to do their job. Two of these will fit in a standard issue assualt pack and not make my medics stand out.

Adventure Medical Kits/Tender Corporation Natrapel 8 Hour deet free repellent 3.5 oz pump (Pack of

Adventure Medical Kits/Tender Corporation Natrapel 8 Hour deet free repellent 3.5 oz pumpWife and I took this to Sri Lanka where we were for 3 weeks. The only times I got bitten by mosquitoes was when I didn't put this on.

Also this doesn't smell horrible like a lot of bug sprays.

Bought this recently after couldn't find Cutter Advance Sport (15% Picaridin). I assumed this Natrpel wouldn't smell, since one of the advantages of Picaridin is it's odorlessness. And the Cutter doesn't smell. But be aware, the Natrapel is VERY perfumy. Women might not mind. I did. Looking at Sawyer now.

I bought this spray because of my dire need to keep relentless mosquitos off of me. I sprayed it all over my legs and arms and at first it seemed to be working (plus it smelled better then most of the bug sprays). After a 5 minutes or so, the mosquitos landed on my legs and started biting. It doesn't seem to be working for me and I will be sending it back.

Edit: Never mind, they do not take returns for this item which is disappointing. I now have two full bottles of liquid which did not work at all. In addition, it caused both of my arms to break out in an itchy rash every time I used it.

Wound Seal: Formally called QR or Quick Relief Blood Stopper

Stop Bleeding Instantly with Wound Seal: Formally Called Qr or Quick Relief Blood Stopper 2 packThis product works as a advertized... you use a small amount of the powder on your finger-press it into the cut, and the bleeding stops. Slight stinging when 1st applied-but not too bad. I had nicked myself rather badly while shaving-and nothing would stop the bleeding. Bled off/on for 24 hours. Drove me nuts !! First aid kit had a small packet of this product-I pressed it in-and it stopped, and STAYED that way. It did 'show'(dark spot) a bit once set-but I didn't have blood running down my face @ random moments... I liked the results -so I ordered a good supply.

Good for minor cuts -and I suggest allowing it to bleed for a minute or 2 to remove infectious agents, clean the area thoroughly with disinfectant --THEN apply Wound Seal. Bleeding ends immediately. No messy bandages.

You're a diabetic and you've gouged a toe... bleeding won't stop. Or, you fall on the concrete or off a bike and you get a big patch of road rage, er, rash on an elbow or knee. This powder is truly amazing. You quickly remove the pressure gauze or whatever you've got pressed against the wound, pour some of this strange looking powder right into the wound, and then you take your fingers and PRESS down onto the wound and the powder. The bleeding stops instantaneously! No joke. You look at it, and you say... I know this is going to keep bleeding, but.... it doesn't.

I mean, this stuff save my wife and I a trip to the ER to staunch the flow. Blood had been oozing out, constantly, and I take blood thinners, so it was a mess. But right on the package it says, can be used for those taking blood thinners!

Get some. You won't be sorry. Whoever invented this stuff should be retired on a beach somewhere, and they absolutely deserve it!

This product works well. However shop locally for it first. This "industrial" product is in a slightly larger packet than the "retail" product. Even taking the size difference into account it is still twice the price of a local drug store. Same ingredients, same name, same manufacturer, but a little more in each packet makes this "industrial" strength.

Tactical Development Group Trauma Kit by Rescue Essentials - KHAKI BAG

Tactical Development Group Trauma Kit by Rescue Essentials - KHAKI BAGThe Tactical Development Group Trauma Kit by Rescue Essentials is an impressive and practical kit to handle major trauma. The contents of this kit are high quality and full of utility. This kit will effectively treat the following:

Severe hemorrhage: Utilizing Celox, CAT or SWAT-T tourniquet, trauma dressings, and compressed rolled gauze

Open chest wounds: Utilizing the Hyfin chest seal or the Bolin chest seal

Compromised airway: Utilizing the nasopharyngeal airway

The contents of this kit include the following:

1 Maxpedition Fight Pouch

1 Combat Application Tourniquet (C-A-T)

1 SWAT-T Tourniquet

1 Celox 35gm Packet

1 Celox Trauma Gauze

1 Bolin Chest Seal

1 HyFin Chest Seal

1 Nasopharyngeal Airway (28 fr) w/lube

1 NAR Emergency Trauma Dressing, 6"

1 NAR Emergency Trauma Dressing, 12" (Abdominal/Stump Dressing)

2 NAR S-rolled Compressed Gauze

1 7½" EMT Shears

1 12 Hour Light Stick

This kit is built upon the Maxpedition FIGHT pouch platform which securely holds all of the contents while being readily accessible with the tear away design. Maxpedition makes very high quality gear that is rugged, durable, and will stand up to abuse. One of the aspects that I really like with this trauma kit it that it has built in redundancy. There are two tourniquets, two chest seals, and multiple methods for handling severe bleeding. This is an excellent kit to treat an individual with multiple systemic trauma or multiple individuals. All of the contents are top quality except for the SWAT-T tourniquet which in my opinion is not as effective as the Combat Application Tourniquet. Some minor adjustments that I would make to this kit would be to include 2-3 pairs of Nitrile gloves, add 4 packets of Water Jel Burn Jel, Pain Relief 25 ea, and add a small LED flashlight such as the Streamlight 66318 MicroStream C4 LED Pen Flashlight.

I highly recommend The Tactical Development Group Trauma Kit as it is an effective trauma kit. Most kits have components that are cheap quality but not this kit. In fact, this is one of the best "pre-packaged" kits that I have seen on the market.
