Betadine kills virtually all staph and strept germs that are present on the skin. It is the best single disinfectant to use on cuts, wounds, abrasions, etc. Betadine is iodine, 10% solution, so if you happen to be allergic to iodine, don't use this product (fortunately, iodine allergy is very rare). There are 100 swabs in this package, and the price is quite reasonable. I think every home should have 10% iodine as a part of an emergency kit. For maximum effectiveness, swab the area for about 1 minute, keeping it wet with iodine, air dry, and then cover with a bandage. Iodine will stain clothing, so be careful when applying it!

These swab pads are much nicer then the swab stick I have been using up until now. Badodine in general can be messy but these pads didn't drip when I pulled them out of the little packages and i was able to use one pad to wash both hands!

These little swabs are soaked with the betadine solution. The swabs are small. You know the little towlettes you get at some restaurants to clean your hands, these little swabs are about 1/4 as big. Like i stated before they are soaked with the solution so you probably do not need something bigger but just letting you know how small they are. Today is 4/29/13 and the ones i received have an expiration date of 09/2015 so i was satisfied with how long they will last. Bought a box of 100 so i put some in my first aid kit, some in my car and the rest will go in my bug out bag. Good product.

Betadine is an "ouchless" iodine solution used as a topical antiseptic. These pads are intended for cleaning the skin prior to injections, drawing blood, etc. so the pads are small. I buy them because they're great for cleaning and disinfecting any wound small and shallow enough not to need medical attention. A box of 100 is enough to keep some in the house, put some in the car's first aid kit, and put a few someplace else. (I keep a little first aid kit in my suitcase, and there are some Betadine pads in there, too.)

These have an expiration date that's about two years into the future, but they're sealed in foil and the solution itself is very stable. I'd be comfortable using one many years later so long as the pad is still wet.

Medline Elastic Net

The hospital called these "fishnets" (like the stockings) this product is wonderful for holding bandages up and allowing a certain amount of breath-ability for wounds. These are a lot lighter to wear than an ace type bandage and the quality is above par. I have severe swelling in my legs (lymphademia)and this will stretch in a way that does not cause me more pain or pinch or feel restrictive in any way. I love this product and recommend it highly.

Bucky Shades Fun Faux Fur Sleep Mask With Earplugs

Unless you have to have something slick, shiny, light weight and cold over your eyes, this is an excellent sleep mask. The foam at the bottom allows you to open your eyes if need be, and it blocks out all of the light if worn properly. The band is a little heavier than needed, IMHO, so if you are someone that has to have the feel of "nothing at all", then you might want to choose a lighter weight mask.

Best sleep eye mask I've found --and I've purchased and tried out quite a few! Soft material with a soft velcro strap. There is a roll of soft fabric that lines the bottom of the mask. This roll lies on the bottom of your eye socket or your lower sinuses when the mask is on -applying a gentle pressure that I like a lot.

I love the little pocket on the outside of the mask up at the top. This pocket can hold four to six ear plugs and is so well designed that they won't come out when you move around or drop it in between the seats or on the floor of a plane.

I don't recommend, however, putting it in the microwave. Sometimes I like my eye masks warm, but when I did it with this one, it didn't fare so well --the pocket area got a little crispy.

But I still give this eye mask 5 stars.

I have two at home and have given three as gifts.

We have owned many varieties of eye masks for sleep including the pink princess satin( uggh) and the tiger print skinny ones but nothing does the job of totally blocking out light except these. The little extra fabric roll across the length of the bottom helps when the mask slips during sleep. The only drawback is they are thick plush fabric and can get a little sweaty at times.I have had no problems washing these but watch out the velcro doesn't catch on other things in the wash.

Aircast Airlift PTTD Brace

I bought this shortly after Posterior Tibial Tendon dysfunction PTTD was diagnosed. I wear it (or another one) whenever I will be on my feet for many hours. It took almost a week to arrive, which was a drag, but so much cheaper to buy it here instead of from the orthopedic Dr. My ankle was improving from wearing the brace but then I sprained the ankle (I did not have the brace on). The same brace has been a godsend for the sprain. It was a bad sprain, so immobilization of the roll was essential. It does the job.

It does not fit in most of my shoes. I use a lightweight elastic support for lighter use of my foot.

For PTTD with high arches, aircast makes another brace for about $20 more cost, almost identical but with an air bladder in the arch--it is awesome comfort. After the initial inflation to get the bladder perfect, I have not had to change it -it has held the inflation perfectly. I spent 4 long days at Disney and Universal and the PTTD did not hurt (though both of my feet were tired, as to be expected). The brace with the bladder is what I wear to Zumba. My female shoe size is 8 1/2. I wear a medium in the aircast with bladder, but a small in this one on Amazon (without the bladder). The brace with the arch bladder fits best in a size 9 shoe.

I have had both braces for over 7 months and they have been worth the cost, and barely showing signs of wear When I wear one, my foot is pain free at the end of the day. It is worth the nuisance to put it on when I will be on my feet a lot, which is almost every day for at least part of the day. I take it off when at home.

Excellent for PTTD troubles. Did help a great deal ... but: you will have to wear two pairs of socks. 1 for beneath the brace and one OVER the brace because the Velcro catches on to your pants leg. This means your foot will be too wide to fit in anything but a lace-up sneaker that is one size larger than your regular size. The brace inflates a sack below your arch, lifting the arch which alleviates one of the problems with PTTD. The brace also keeps you from pronating which is also a problem with PTTD.

DON'T buy a Small size unless you are very petite or child-size.

I ended up buying one for the other foot which helped me walk better, helped me heal faster. Wearing one made me feel lob-sided. I am finding a bit of skin irritation from either the heat of all that wrapping, or the material of the brace.

The brace is worth buying but I hope you are not in a hurry. Check the shipping dates.

Another reviewer wrote about how these will stink. I can't get the smell out and they are falling apart.

My doctor put me in an immobilizer, a soft cast, up to the knee. He said PTTD needs complete immobilization. My ankle feels better. Maybe you should save your money and buy an immobilizer.

I've struggled with my 4 year old's eczema for most of his life. My pediatrian finally recommended this lotion. After only a few aplications his skin is clear, softer and smoother then it has been ever. It absorbs quickly and leaves no stickness and has next to no fragrance so he doesn't mind being slathered up. I only use it after his bath a couple of times a week and his skin has stayed clear and smooth. Occasionally I've used it on my 7 month old and it works great for him too eventhough he doesn't have skin problems...yet. I've tried it on myself for my skin conditions especially my hands and it hasn't worked quite as well. I think with the frequent washing of my hands I need something more emoilent. Savlon Antiseptic Cream

I have rather frequent patches ot eczema that form on my fingers and thumbs. While visiting New Zealand last December, I ran out of the usual cream I'd been using to help control the problem. The itching is somewhat controlled by antihistamines and of anti-itch creams, and the splitting of the skin I'd been trying to manage wth a number of creams and ointments.

Hypafix Retention Tape 6" X 10 Yard Roll Each

Unfortunately, after surgery on a heel in July 2004 the wound remained opened. It required a daily change of a 3x3 that was secured in place via cling or other wrapping material any of which had to be secured by tape. It was an expense process and very bulky that made wearing a shoe uncomfortable.

Now, the 3x3 is now secured with two strips of the Hypafix tape at a cost far less than the previous method. There is little or no bulk, which is much more comfortable. Started to become a bit of a nervous nelly with all the earthquakes a few months back, so decided it was time to make sure I had a decent first aid kit, just in case. I compared multiple options, but decide that this kit was the best compromise between what you would practically need/use, while also being prepared.

The only thing this kit was lacking was some saline solution and a flashlight, which I purchased separately. It comes well packaged and doesnt take up a lot of room to store.

Keep in mind things like pain killers etc have a use-by date. The use-by dates varied quite a bit in my pack, so I would recommend checking this when it arrives. Probably a good idea to check it yearly after that to make sure you keep everything current and stocked.

I just received two of these and immediately saw that the item sent to me is not the item in the picture on amazon! Clearly the photo on amazon is the American Red Cross Emergency kit, which is the one i have at work and wanted to purchase for my truck and my house.

The official American Red Cross emergency kit has very helpful pages of basic first aid instruction as well as a much sturdier case. The knockoff first aid kit i was sent does not have the first aid information and the case is of poorer quality. As for the individual items i'd have to take them all out and compare them.

Clearly the company is misrepresenting their product and passing it off as an official American Red Cross emergency kit. Beware!

My son-in-law is seriously into sports, works at a hospital and is studying to be a Phys Ed teacher/coach. I love this product, plain and simple. It works as described every time, doesn't monkey with my skin in any way, and they stay put wherever you place them on the body. The flexible fabric makes them ideal for fingers, toes, or any other place on the body with a joint. As an added bonus, not that I need it, but the box comes with braille writing at the top that reads "Band-Aid" which I thought was pretty cool. I like it when companies realize there are those folks in the world who are less abled and they choose to do something to help them out. The six (6) pack quantity is the perfect amount so you don't run out right away. You'd be surprised who quickly you can run through thirty (30) Band-Aids and find yourself wanting more. Once again, I highly recommend this product.

They protect the wound like they're supposed too but don't get them wet. The adhesive isn't that good. They are flexible & do allow the wound to breath but if you need a waterproof band-aid, this isn't it.

The flexible fabric Band-Aids are very comfortable and don't seem to irritate my skin the way some of the more plastic-y Band-Aids or bandages do. They also stick better than many other adhesive bandages do, and will stay on for a long time (at least an entire day) if they stay very dry.

My only complaint is that if these Band-Aids get wet, they fall right off. I wish that they could stay sticky even after getting water on them, the way that the heavier duty Band-Aid Tough Strips do. In a perfect world, there would be a Band-Aid as comfortable as these flexible fabric ones are that also is as heavy duty as a Band-Aid Tough Strip.

Bought these as I am slowly removing a wart from my finger via wart stick. It is the middle size of the 3 sizes that come in the multi-pack, in case you are wondering. Its been on my finger for awhile and is showing no signs of slipping. Comfortable, do not really notice it is there. Great for wrapping around a finger.

I like everything about these bandaids except the adhesive. The adhesive feels sticky enough to the touch initially and the box says "Super-Stick adhesive to stay on longer," but this bandaid type does not stick for more than a minute to my skin or to itself. When I wrap the bandaid around a cut finger, the end will come unstuck almost immediately. If I wash my hands and the bandaid gets wet, the bandaid comes completely unstuck before I'm done rinsing.

I tried using these to protect a cut one day, and I went through half the box in a day because every bandaid came unstuck at the ends within a minute and came unstuck completely within an hour (less if I bent my finger or got the bandaid wet). Before leaving the house, I stuffed about 10 bandaids in my pocket so I could just put a new one on as each one came off (or I got tired of holding the unstuck end in place with the neighboring finger).

The box I have is labeled "Tough Strips" where the photo above says "Flexible Fabric," but it is the same flexible fabric bandaids, all one size (1" x 3 1/4") with identical box, logos and picture.

The other Bandaid brand products I keep in my medicine cabinet do not have this problem.

Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages, Tough-Strips

Why is that?

The fabric moves and stretches with you. Other bandages do not and pull off.

The adhesive is strong. Albeit, I only use it on adults as it might be too strong for my kids.

The gauze is absorbent and does not stick to the wound.

The fabric breaths. I stay away from the waterproof types under normal circumstances as I want the wound to also get some air.

The bandage stays put. I put it on and never worry about it coming off before it is time to change it.

Foam bandages are a nice second place, especially for kids, but for an adult, there is no better bandage.

These are the best band-aids I've used. Being a martial arts instructor for the Marine Corps, I was constantly getting scratches and cuts. I could count on these to do their jobs for such minor abrasions, scrapes, etc... I've tried lots of different band-aids, and these hold up the best and stay put during activity.

Pros:

These are tougher than regular band-aids

The fabric-like material makes so the bandage doesn't get caught on anything and tear loose, like clothing, etc...

The material breathes just enough so the covered area doesn't become completely deprived of oxygen.

Porous composition allows the band-aid to soak up a little bit of blood, if a minor injury is still bleeding slowly, while most band-aids are too plastic.

Cons:

I wish there was a way to make a waterproof band-aid that was also able to absorb minimal bleeding and still maintain its adhesive quality.

Conclusion:

These are the band-aids that I continue to buy on a regular basis. They do the job.

My husband has very thin skin and bleeds easily so I thought this was the perfect band-aid for him. Quite the contrary the first time I used it and took it off of his arm lots of skin came off with it and made a much worse sore than was there originally. This band-aid is much too strong for older people with any type of skin condition. So now I am afraid to use them on anybody. I would avoid buying this product at all costs.

Very difficult to remove adhesive after bandaid is removed. Sticks to your finger and is a pain to get the stickiness off. Would not buy again.

Con: Not waterproof, comes off when wet.

I need a dressing for an open blister on my hand. The dressing would have done well over a shin cut but did not perform when exposed to palm dampness/handwashing. I recommend a dressing from 3M or Nexcare for areas exposed to dampness/wetness; 3M/Nexcare does survive handwashing.

I've been using these all summer and this is the first summer I haven't had to take any medication. I carry a clean spare with me especially when we had the fires here in NM and they worked for the smoke also. For years, I've dreaded Spring. It has been my least favorite season thanks to ever-worsening tree pollen and the need for allergy drugs, air filters, pillowcase covers, plastic-covered windows and cumbersome masks.

This year, WoodyKnows filters gave me Spring back. Now I can actually enjoy this season. And my all-year, all-the-time dust allergy is much better, too.

I've been searching for a product just like this one for a long, long time and I've tried many. I'm very discerning about my gear and purchases. A discreet nasal filter made so much sense, but no one did it right until now.

I've been using the filters for about three months. I wear the WoodyKnows filters at home and on my commute to work. Now, at the height of the spring tree pollen season, I even wear them when I sleep. They are very comfortable if you get the right size (get the cheap sizing kit first!) and you get used to them fast.

They are not perfect 100-percent block-everything filters, but because I can wear them for hours and hours they are extremely effective at reducing my overall allergy load. And that makes a huge difference since allergy misery is a cummulative effect. By cutting down my exposure over big swaths of time, when I do get exposed to pollen or dust, my reaction is minimal.

Last year, I tried First Defense Nasal Screens. And they were a big help! They do in fact block more allergens than WoodyKnows. Their actual filtration is more effective. But First Defense had some serious downsides. 1) Despite being promoted as looking invisible, they make your nostrils disappear! The end effect is you either look, at best, like you have Band Aids on your nose or, at worst, like some kind of old Twilight Zone mutant. 2) They're not really reuseable. You can take them off and stick them back on the plastic sheet, but they lose adhesive effect each time and never fit quite right again. 3) The screens are effective, but they also reduce air flow making it noticably harder to breathe. 4) One sneeze and they're shot. There is no saving, cleaning or reusing them. They are pretty expensive given they are truly disposable, one-shot filters.

WoodyKnows solves all those problems. They really are hard to notice making public use possible without feeling self-conscious. They don't limit breathing. They are easy to clean and reuse (I use the recommended ultrasonic jewelry cleaner approach). Yeah, they don't filter out everything, but all of these positives mean you can actually use them a lot. And wearing a 95-percent filter for 12 hours a day does a lot more good than a 99-precent filter for 2 hours a day.

If you still need extra allergy or pollution protection, WoodyKnows plus a Vogmask are a good and stylish combo.

My young son also suffers from severe Spring allergies and he wears WoodyKnows, too. Last year, he often needed a nebulizer to help his strained breathing, but with WoodyKnows this year he hasn't needed the nebulizer once. I had been concerned about the filters looking weird and causing him problems at school, but they are very subtle and often you can't even tell he has them on. Sometimes kids ask him what's the thing on his nose and he tells them and that's the end of it. The one lookng at his nose the most is his sneezing, allergy-suffering teacher who is a bit envious.

WoodyKnows are not perfect:

-The filter frames tend to deform over time, causing problems with a good seal. They're promoted as having a lifespan of a month, but I'd say they work great for two weeks and then by the end of the third week they need replacing. Of course, I use them a lot longer and harder than most would. I have found that if you alternate between two sets of filters, you can get a lot more life out of them. One filter gets to "rest" and the shape of the frame tends to come back.

-They might be even more discrete if the connecting bridge between filters was transparent instead of a transluscent-whitish color.

-Would be good if there was a size between the III and IV models.

-I also wish they came with a carry case for a single filter instead of just the three-pack.

That said, these are minor quibbles with an awesome, incredibly helpful product.

After last year's brutal allergy season, I was on the verge of starting on months of expensive, painful and time-consuming allergy shots. Thanks to WoodyKnows, I have a cheaper, faster, more reliable alternative that doesn't involve many needles and hours in waiting rooms.

My daughter is very allergic to multiple things and anaphylactic to several things. She could not tolerate going outside due to pollens.
