Betadine skin cleanser

For some reason, I tend to get frequent infections on my skin. Bacteria have a field day with me. Betadine takes care of it, time after time. I haven't run into anything so far that Betadine hasn't been able to help with (including the initial stages of impetigo) or cure (including infected splinters and boils). Gentle on the skin, tough on bacteria.

For those out there that struggle with similar underarm issues especially when they exercise, you may want to try using this product to cleanse under the arms. It disinfects and kills bacteria that naturally accumulates under the arms. To most people this is simply manageable with soap and deodorant but to some it can be a challenge to control with typical methods. This product is very effective to control underarm "issues!" It is safe and with regular use there is even no need to use deodorant even when you exercise. At least this has been my experience. Deodorant can contain chemicals that are not very safe to our bodies, so using this skin cleanser is an added benefit if you worry about the use of deodorant.

I suffered from athlete's foot my entire adult life. One thing I noticed over the years however was that when I bought new shoes, my attacks were less frequent. But as soon as I put my old shoes back on, wham! Even if I hadn't worn my old shoes in many months I could count on an attack like clockwork. I couldn't find much info on this topic or a single product in the drug stores to treat it but I KNEW something was going on in my shoes.

After years of trying one product or another on my feet (most of which actually made my condition WORSE because they left my feet damp/clammy in my shoes), a doctor gave me a free sample of Tineacide. Not sure how effective this stuff is on toenail fungus, so far I've noticed no major improvement. However I do believe I've found a great replacement product for Pepper Spray, this stuff will totally gag you, so be very careful where you spray your shoes or toes. Seriously it could replace Pepper Spray.

07/02/13 Update: I've been using the spray every night and it does seem to help my problem. Short of going to a doctor and getting some poison pill to kill the nail fungus, keeping it in check is the next best thing. I do have to spray in another room but that's no big deal.

Motorcycle Operator First Aid Kit by Rescue Essentials

I spent a long time researching a motorcycle first aid kit and this was hands down the best. The SAM splint and pressure dressings are the big features since this is a trauma kit, not band aids. If you have, or come across a motorcycle wreck this is the kit you want to have.

It is too big for under seat storage, and a real first aid kit bag (not a Ziploc) to keep it all in would be nice, but I would buy another one of these if I ever had to. I just hope I never have to use it.

Luckily, I have not had to use it. But I felt a little bit better on a long trip having some kind of first aid kit and this seemed perfect. A lot of quality items in it and necessary items in case anything should go wrong.

As an emergency responder and CNA, I will say the contents of this kit are decent. However, in my opinion, it is priced far too high for what you get and worst of all, it DOES NOT come with a case (only a ziplock bag). That was not really clear in the advertisement ... so for $56 plus dollars, I was disappointed and I think you can do much better. I would recommend you go for the First Aid Tactical Trauma Kit instead (which I bought for my SUV) well equipped with a compact and sturdy case, and something whose contents as a CNA I think I could use to respond to an accident. I had to go to Wal mart to get something to put all the components in for this (Motorcycle Operator First Aid Kit)!!

I bought these after having 3 small moles removed, one on each arm and one on my back. These lose stickiness after a few hours (if not minutes), and start peeling off after a shower. I hurt/sprained my thumb and ankle, and this bandage is what helpend me the most getting through it all. Fresh out of the bag it is great! Over time it starts to collect dirt/dust and starts to look and feel dirty and old... it might even loose a significant portion of its self adhesing properties. If you are a busy person, doing your business out and about all day it will last 5-7 days tops.

It is light weight and is great to have around just in case. I have one in my backpacking first aid kit too.

I recommend this product, cheaper here than in CVS or Walgreens in my neck of the woods.

Adventure Medical Kits Sol Hybrid 3, 1-Pound, 4.6 oz

I purchased the Hybrid 3 at REI a couple months ago. Everything in the kit is great, but just a heads up...the case isn't waterproof at all. I keep the kit in my hiking backpack, and during a hike it started raining. Got back home, and everything was soaked. It didn't matter for certain items, as they are put in additional plastic bags, but the instructions, bandages and a couple other items were destroyed.

I'm buying this same kit again, but I will put in a ziplock bag before it goes in my backpack.

Its basicly 2 pocket survival kits witha few extras. I bought it and found the pouch is horribly designed. You would be better off buying 2 pocket kits, a sweedish firesteel, and a heatsheet.

A few months ago I bleached my dyed black hair to white and turned it all to mush. When I was sick of the white I tried to dye it back with a box dye and while my roots accepted the dye, the parts of my hair that had been so severely damaged by the bleach did not. So I had red roots and light pink hair. Not good. So after a lot of research I began dying my hair with henna (natural not compound) which worked beautifully. However it takes a really long time, 24 hours prep and 8 hours on my hair. So after a few months I decided to try boxed color again. This time I bought preference Lightest Auburn and not only did it turn out exactly like the color on the box, but it even dyed the damaged part and my gray hairs. It also blended in with the existing henna hair color beautifully. I love this product!

L'Oreal told me that given my past hair coloring, bleaching, color fill and natural dark brown hair that this product would turn my hair "screaming orange" and that I was not a good candidate for it. Nonsense. Right on the box it tells you that you can use this from medium blonde to dark brown natural hair color. Despite the dire warning, I used Intense Red Copper, and it was beautiful. It was the exact color of the model on the box. I can't stop looking at it. If you have dyed your hair brunette or red I had dyed my bleached and dyed blond hair red then wait until your color fades to a lightness commensurate with the color. Color cannot lift color, but if you have very faded color then you don't need any lifting. The vivid nature of it is amazing. Take a chance! Have a box of darker red dye nearby in case this doesn't work for you and you need an immediate correction. But believe me, the folks at L'Oreal's call center have been wrong in almost every situation in which I've called them. They are trying to avoid a lawsuit, not really help you look your best. You know what you like and what is going to work. Don't pass this up: Intense Red Copper is a color you should try at least once.

This is for color Preference Light Beige Brown (6BB). I was so nervous to try this. I waited until I could not take my GRAY roots anymore. I went gray very young, and have about 60% gray. My natural base color is a mousy brown that blond highlights in the summer. At salons, I have been begging them to get rid of the brassy tones that ALWAYS show up on my base color, only to be told that is the only way to cover the gray and give me the medium brown with blonde highlights look. The Pencil Grip Writing C.L.A.W- Medium Set of 5 (Ass't Colors)

Traditional pencil grips didn't work for a few of my students (they just grabbed around it with their whole hand) so I tried these. Pros: The kids like them, you just have to make sure they get their fingers in the right way and they work perfectly! Cons: They're kind of expensive and can rip pretty easily with regular kindergarten wear and tear.

This is the only pencil grip that has worked for one of my first grade students with autism. With all other grips, he still managed to hold the pencil incorrectly except for when an adult physically held his fingers in place. As long as his fingers get put into the correct holes, he can write beautifully and independently without an adult needing to reposition his fingers. I gave him one to take home so he can use a proper tri-pod grasp at home too.
