ThyroShield Potassium Iodide Oral Solution, Black Raspberry 1 fl oz (30 ml)

ThyroShield Potassium Iodide Oral Solution, Black Raspberry 1 fl ozNo one wants to think of an event that god forbid, we'll have to use this product but its great that they thought about a flavored oral solution, hello... we also have kids and babies that need protection. I also like the fact that its one of the very few which is FDA unlike many other unknown supplements that who knows if they were tested or even if they are harmful.

Now thank God I have never had to give this to my little girl, but just in case everyone that has a family or not should either have this or the adult version AVAILIABLE just in case of an emergency.

I have always stocked this stuff and realized what a good idea it was during Fukushima. I had purchased the family pack for right about $150 dollars and during the power plant failure was very hard to get. The prices on eBay were outrageous and out of reach. I watched and was saddened by the way people were taking advantage of scared Californians. You probably could have gotten $200 dollars for this at that time. I was lucky to live in Va. during that time,so we did not need it.

You cannot put a price tag on your child's health and you cannot be assured that this product and others like it will be AVAILIABLE during an emergency. This was very hard to get. The important thing about it is to pay attention to the expiration dates and restock accordingly. I cannot tell you about how good it works, but this is the only brand I trust.

I do know that you are told to take a ten day dose at a time and to pay attention to government broadcasts on when you should take this stuff. Another good thing to have is the Rad Triage badge that detects exposure. Be careful to read the directions carefully and to pay very close attention to expiration dates because all of this stuff has limited times of use.

I hope nobody ever needs this stuff but for the price not having it is not an option.

I bought this for our disaster kit as we have babies. After what happened in Japan, I wanted to learn from what they went through and be ready in case something like that happened here. As any parent with small kids can tell you, it is damn near impossible to get them to swallow a pillespecially in a stressful situation. This seemed like a reasonable alternative to keep them protected in case of a release or disaster. I cannot say how well it worked as we have never been exposed. If you want more information, read about how the Chernobyl disater was mitigated. Potassium Iodide kept the locals ssafe from the hazardous effects of radiation poisoning.

But just in case, I am glad I have it for my little boys. This is given out by some states with nuclear facilities for emergencies so I know it is a dependable brand. Put it with your other emergency supplies.

First Aid Only Bloodborne Pathogen Bodily Spill Kit, 24 Piece Kit

First Aid Only Bloodborne Pathogen Bodily Spill Kit, 24 Piece KitI bought 2 kit for my work place. I pray that I don't have to use it. The kit is very complete for one time use kit. The normal distributor charges twice as much for a kit. I bought this to be in compliance to the company's safety prevention policy. A great buy for emergency.

I love cleaning up bloody messes with this kit! Actually no, I hate it. But this kit is fine and meets state requirements for such things. I will buy this again.

Dental Emergency Kit - Style 911-15005

Dental Emergency Kit - Style 911-15005I was looking for a decent dental emergency kit to add to my "disaster bag". First off this particular kit really only had the tooth filling and/or cap temporary glue item in it worth anything. Everything else is kind of already in my first aid kit. I do not know what I was expecting here, after all they do list what is in it in the product details area. It does seem "homemade", what I received did not match the picture on the Amazon picture at all, but the contents did match with what was advertised, so fine I guess. When I opened the plastic zip-lock bag, salt fell out because one of the packets had broke inside (I guess during shipping?). I decided to use a name brand small dental floss container that I had already, instead of the no-name brand one sent in this kit, that was the cheapest floss I have ever used, BTW. I wanted to use it instead of throwing it out, so just another item that was a waste for me.

North American Healthcare Compression Knee Wrap

North American Healthcare Compression Knee WrapI have a Bakers Cyst & needed a cold/hot warp to relieve pain. I purchased this one and found it to be good. It is a bit bulky and not able to ware it under long pants but thats OK.

You don't want the gel pack directly on the skin anyway.

The gel pack is removable and is held in with velcro. It should fit a average size person. I like the way it blows up so you get the pressure around the knee you want.

I think its well made and should last.

I was looking for a wrap that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and found the North American Healthcare Compression Knee Wrap for $22.50! I liked it so much I ordered a second wrap after about five minutes of wear to have a spare gel pack and distribute wear and tear. The wrap goes on easy and pumps up easy. Set the valve to the off position once the pressure is comfortable and unscrew the pump hose and it's good to go! I would and have recommended to friends.

Buy North American Healthcare Compression Knee Wrap Now

My first purchase of this type product. I was so pleased after receiving and using overnight, I bought a second one the next day. Haven't used with heat, only cold and recommend using the ice packs you probably already have in your freezer. The included pack freezes too rigid if frozen for many hours/overnight. The instructions CLEARLY STATE to freeze for only 1 hr., (probably as instructed by the manufacturers legal department) so in today's litigious society, you can't fault the maker. Just use your own judgment if you're the type who takes responsibility for your own actions, and this product should work for you just fine.

Everything is solid. Quality rubber (not plastic) pump and hose. Valve performs flawlessly after over a month's use. Velcro enclosures do a most excellent job. Just a great product IMO. I have also used it without gel pack "in the field" mowing lawns (that's what I do) when I've woken up dragging my leg due to knee pain. In that app, it does add limited support, although I know when I'm in that condition, I shouldn't even be out of bed. But when the work day is done, it's shower, ice pack compressed on the knee, a few cocktails... and I'm good to go in a day or three due mainly to back problems but now with the added pain of a knee problem. Great product though.

Hope this helps your purchase decision.

DixiGear First Responder FULLY Stocked Trauma First Aid Kit-Orange

DixiGear First Responder FULLY Stocked Trauma First Aid Kit-OrangeThis is a great kit with a lot of great supplies. The only thing I feel it's missing would be a professional grade resuscitation mask in case of CPR and perhaps a a compact BVM. Other than that, I feel a lot better having one of these in the back of the car. I'll be buying more.

I got this in the time frame estimated, and I like it. I read reviews that people said it was way smaller than anticipated or that the zipper is stiff. It's the right size for me and I've had no issues with the zipper. It has one main compartment with an insert that has an adjustable divider and a few small pockets. The bag itself also has two side pockets that are spacious enough for some gauze rolls and ace wraps, etc.

You can't fit a ton into this little bag, but you can certainly fit the basics, and the price for what you get is pretty decent, too! The only thing I'd like better is if there were more adjustable dividers inside...but maybe I can make those myself...

I purchased this bag just to have a small selection of supplies to keep in my truck. After getting it, I can say I made a good purchase. For the average person, it'd be too much stuff. For an EMT/First responder, it has enough stuff to help a patient and then some. It is stocked; if I was planning on using it a lot, i'd probably get different supplies after I used up the initial ones. It's great for me though.

The First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Baby Healthcare and Grooming Kit

The First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Baby Healthcare and Grooming KitI vaguely remember reading reviews for this product when I registered for it. In my pregnancy induced happy haze, I disregarded people's complaints about some of the item in the kit. I should have listened, so I ask you listen now. You are much better off buying items that you will need separately. It seemed like a good idea to just get this kit and cover all my bases. I'd never had a baby before, I figured that someone had figured out what I needed for me and put it in this kit. This is partially true.

In the first few months, you will need a digital thermometer, a bulb syringe/aspirator, nail clippers or file, and hair brush or comb. These are the things from the kit that I have used so farmy daughter is 9 months old. So, out of 17 items, I've used 5 or 6. The other 11-12 have not been touched.

Of the items, I've used, I didn't like most of them. The bulb syringe is impossible to squeeze and offers no suctionuseless. The thermometer seems to take forever to take a reading, which is no good with a squirmy baby. The nail clipper have been okay, I still use it, but I bet there are better ones you can buy separatelyI've been meaning to get some. I had to remove the plastic cover from the clippers in order to see baby's nails betterthe first time I used them I cut my daughter's finger because I couldn't see them well.

I like the brush and comb. But I would like any brush and comb, I'm sure.

I've ended up buying a new thermometer (that I love) and a new aspirator (that I also love). Yes, you will probably spend more money buying items separately, but that is because the stuff that comes in this kit is cheaply made. If you are an expectant parent and trying to plan for your first baby, just get a good rectal thermometer (I have a Vicks that I like) some good nail clippers or a tiny nail file, and maybe a little brush for baby's hair. The hospital will give you a good bulb syringe when you deliver. That is all you will need the first few weeks, and you should have quality products that work well. This kit will most likely disappoint.

Some of the items in this kit are great: soft baby toothbrush, medicine spoon, brush. Some are very outdated and hard to use: nail clippers, comb. The case is OK,but the items look cheaply made. There are better products on the market.

Buy The First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Baby Healthcare and Grooming Kit Now

This is the worst kit of anything I have ever owned. The comb and hairbrush are the only items that aren't too cheaply made to work.

The nasal bulb no suction what so ever.

The scissors don't cut.

The nail clippers are crap.

The medicine measure isn't needed because, really, any medicine you purchase for your child comes with a measuring/dosage device.

The cheap thermometer in mine is at least three degrees off and inconsistent (tested by taking my own temperature), if you can get it to work at all.

The toothbrush is total crap and not made for babies.

I cannot emphasize how disappointed you will be if you purchase this or receive it as a gift.

Instead of buying this, purchase yourself a good thermometer, baby nail clippers and a decent nose-sucker (either the bulb type or fancy aspirator).

I know the title sounds dramatic, but it truly is all uselessand some dangerous! I put this item on my registry because I thought it was the perfect catch-all for me as a first-time expectant mom. I didn't know what I'd need so I loved the idea of a kit that came with everything. And signed off on by the American Red Cross? Even better.

Well, I use the brush.

The rattle is okay.

The nail clippers are extremely dangerous and I cut my daughter's finger quite badly. The way the clippers are constructed, the finger tip is obstructed from view. There are many reviews to this effect here on Amazon for the clippers.

The aspirator doesn't work -it's way too hard to squeeze. Instead we use the one the hospital gave us.

The nail files are too weak to file properly.

I've never used anything else in there and my daughter is 6 1/2 months old.

The First Years American Red Cross Sure-Grip Nail Clippers 2 Pack

Want The First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Baby Healthcare and Grooming Kit Discount?

This kit does have a lot of useful items, but they are not high quality and don't all work properly. For instance, the nasal aspirator was nearly impossible to squeeze rendering it useless. The nail clippers got rusty after being exposed to boiling water.

The measuring spoon with the stopper was helpful in drop feeding my son for a couple of days.

Overall, I'd rather spend a bit more and buy higher quality items individually.

EverReady Sterile Gauze Pads, 2x2, 12 Ply, 100/BX, White

EverReady Sterile Gauze Pads, 2x2, 12 Ply, 100/BX, WhiteThese gauze pads are extremely thin. I took a chance on them, even though some other reviews said they were bad, because they said '12 Ply'. I had been buying 12 Ply gauze pads at local stores such as Walmart and a grocery store....I was buying the least expensive ones, not the pricier name brand gauze pads. I figured these EverReady pads would be similar. WRONG. Even using two of these pads is awful, they wad up when wet so I can't use them with saline to wash my wound. And forget about using them to spread ointment, that doesn't work either. The best way for me to describe the thin quality is to have you think about a roll of gauze, cutting a strip from that and folding it in half. That's how flimsy and open-weave these so called 'pads' are.

Cheesecloth type (or maybe worse than the cheapest type of cheesecloth) quality.

It is not absorbent and instead very irritating to your cut with its loose thread.

Band-aid Brand First Aid Hurt-Free Antiseptic Wash 6-Ounce

Band-Aid Brand First Aid Hurt-Free Antiseptic Wash 6 OunceBecause I am over 65 and required to use Warfarin my skin is very thin and I bleed profusely add to all of this my natural ability to be clumsy and 2 little dogs who are always scratching my arms and legs you can understand why I prefer to use an antiseptic that doesn't hurt! I constantly look as if I'm the victim of elder abuse when in fact it's LOVE from my 8-legged loved ones who cause me to look like such a wreck! I do use a lot of this and my only criticism is that I can no longer find it available as a FOAM because that was a little less runny but this an acceptable alternative and I would recommend it to any one who has issues like mine or for those of you with small children. Just a note to be cautious if you are using it around the eye or mouth because of it's consistency.Band-aid Brand First Aid Hurt-Free Antiseptic Wash 6-Ounce (Pack of 2)

This is the most wonderful product. Does everything it says. I use it for so many things. It helps itchiness and great for bug bites. I have allergies as do my little dogs. I use it on a cotton pad on their muzzle, under their eyes, where they get particularly itchy, to clean their eyes and ears. Doesn't hurt them at all. The main thing is this does not sting. After doing a research project on bacteria on the skin, especially with the use of make-up, I began using this as a "toner" for my face, morning and night, before applying my facial prodcucts. It feels good and I know my skin is as clean and bacteria free as it can be right after I have used it. Doesn't dry my skin either. I use it on my chapped lips before applying lip treatment balms. It helps the pain when I have a cracked lip. I use it to clean cosmetic brushes and sponges, between uses. It is a good idea to use an antibiotic ointment afterwards for wounds. I use this more than any other product of this type. I keep finding uses for it! Another good thing is, it is inexpensive.

Buy Band-aid Brand First Aid Hurt-Free Antiseptic Wash 6-Ounce Now

Unlike isopropyl alcohol, which can cause a painful sting, benzalkonium chloride is effective at preventing and treating infections in minor wounds without the sting. However, the wound should still be covered with an antibiotic cream, antibiotic ointment, and/or Band-Aid because the airborne germs will return very soon.

I actually use this to wash my face during breakouts, since it's so nicely balanced and good for sensitive skin. It's also great for cuts and scrapes, and stings for only a second before numbing any open wounds.

TIP: Use this right away on paper cuts and cat scratches, rubbing it in hard, and that's all you'll need to do to keep from getting a red/pink/itchy/painful/infected cut! The cut/scratch will disappear ASAP.

Special Pack of 5 MEDICINE SYRINGE 2 TSP

Special Pack of 5 MEDICINE SYRINGE 2 TSPMy son had an ear infection and I needed to give him 7 ml of his antibiotics twice a day. It was great to have so many of these around; I didn't have to search for a clean syringe every time I needed them.

Pros:

* Lots of them around is really handy

* Good construction, the seal doesn't come off (I've had that problem before with target syringes)

* Has ml and tsp markings

* Larger than the syringes you get at the pharmacy which is great when dossage is also more than the pharmacy syringe (I think the pharmacy syringes are 5mls and I needed 7mls)

* Easy to clean

I got these for my daughter's medicine we've been giving her. I thought the extension attachment would help out when trying to give her medicine or reach the bottom of the bottles. I didn't think that it would throw off the measurement, but not only that if I attached the hose after I got the right measurement then it wouldn't dispense the entire dose. When I tried to detach the extension it took a lot of force to remove it. The circumference was larger than the syringes we'd been using so it wouldn't even fit down into the bottle. I did figure out I could seal the bottle enough to tilt the medicine close enough to dispense, but the tip of the syringe is offset to the side and very small and this made giving her the medicine harder than a regular syringe.

I like the quality of the build, but the tip makes them useless without the extension and the extension makes them inaccurate.

Buy Special Pack of 5 MEDICINE SYRINGE 2 TSP Now

The quality of these or so much better than any of the others we've used. The rubber gasket does NOT dry out and make it hard to push. This is the main advantage. Plus its not made in China.

My son needs to take several medications a day, including 3 in tablet form. Since he's too young to swallow tablets I need to crush up his pills. These syringes make it much easier to crush up the pills in the syringe (instead of using spoons or a mortar and pestle) because the tip is off-center. I searched everywhere for these syringes and I'm thrilled that I was finally able to locate them!

Mueller Elastic Knee Support

Mueller Elastic Knee Support - MediumThis is the 3rd knee support I've actually run with. Everything else either pinched when flexing the knee or aggravated my knee joint. My ortho/sports medicine doctor gave me a well made neoprene & velcro brace with hinged aluminum bars built into the sides and a patella pad (adjustable) at the hole in the front for kneecap support. I took it back after 3 days. I tried on several other neoprene supports, some with Velcro and some just tapered sleeve type (even 2 other Mueller NEOPRENE styles [open patella & closed] in several sizes). Just wearing those around the store I felt pinching or slipping down. I tried a gray ELASTIC support from Walmart (1 size fits none?) that was super-tight.

COMFORT: I've worn this Mueller elastic knee support up to 9 mile runs. It stays in place well while running. There's no pinching or chafing. It was easy to forget that I was wearing it, but I felt confident that my loose patella was being supported in its natural position. It gives light support to the knee if sized right.

BUILD: This support is a closed band with no straps of any kind, that must be pulled on over the foot. It is tapered, smaller at the bottom end than at top, so it fits me well. I think the weakest area of construction of this product would be the threads wrapping the top and bottom edges. But I believe it will be long-lasting under normal use.

SIZE: My knee measured 13.5" at the kneecap. But I bought the Medium size which the package say is for 14" to 16". So I agree with the other review that these run SLIGHTLY small. Great product for me.

I wear a small support, which is hard to impossible to find in Tucson. I have several of these Mueller supports. They last longer that any other brand I have tried. The Ace supports at Walgreen's sell wear out very fast. They are a "best buy" as far as I am concerned. I sometimes can find these at a sporting goods store, but if I order $25.00 at Amazon, the price of this support works out to around $2.00 to $4.00 cheaper.

If you measure your knee, and order this support, the support will be the correct size, not smaller, or larger like other brands.

Update April 3, 2012: This support is still holding up and not out of shape. They have a long-life compared to other elastic knee supports.

Howard Leight FUS30-HP Fusion Earplug Reg Corded In Hearpack (3 Pair)

Howard Leight FUS30-HP Fusion Earplug Reg Corded In Hearpack
  • Noise Reduction Rate (NRR): 27 dB
  • Size: Regular
  • Type: Corded
  • Reuseable
  • Qty: 3 Pair

I received a pair of Howard Leight Fusion ear plugs several years ago at a trade show and have been using them ever since. With some plugs you have to roll them between your fingers and wait from the foam to expand, while transfering whatever was on your fingers to the ear plugs and then into your ear. With these, you merely push them into your ear and after using put them back into the carry case. I re-used the same pair a couple hundred times. Some styrofoam types "swell up" after inserting and create presure in the ear area resulting in a headache. These are the most comfortable earplugs you'll ever wear, I've forgotten I had them in before. I highly recommend them.

First Response First Response Fertility Test For Women

First Response22600901808 Fertility Test for WomenWOW what a DEVASTATION it was to use these strips is all i can say. I am 38, I first took this "FSH" test in January 2011. I got a very faint pink line which said I had "normal" FSH levels. So I thought I was okay. Well after 6 months TTC, we finally went into the doctor. After drawing blood, I found out my FSH was elevated! Apparently, most of these OTC FSH tests tell you that you are normal if you your FSH is under 25...when normal is under 10-12 according to most doctors. I even took this test on the same day they did the blood FSH; again, the OTC test indicated I was normal, even though my lab work came back as abnormal and I will need to undergo treatment. I feel deceived...I could have been getting treatment earlier had this test really given me a true indicator of FSH. Spare yourself the heartbreak and false sense of security and ask your doctor to do a blood FSH test on Day 3.

Do not buy or rely on this testyour result means nothing. I took this test 3 months ago and also received a "normal" reading. Well, I just recently had blood work done to test my ovarian reserve, and results came back with an AMH level of 0.55 ng/mL, indicating a very low ovarian reserve. Needless to say, I was shocked. (AMH is a newer test that, similiar to the FSH test, indicates your ovarian reserve or quantity and quality of your remaining egss.) Do not rely on this test to give you an accurate result; instead, go to your ob/gyn and ask him/her to test your FSH and AMH levels.

25mIU/ml sensitivity is way too high to determine if you have an issue! My doctor said anything over 10-12 mIU/ml is considered a problem. The sensitivity level needs to be lower (like 10mIU/ml) in order to detect a true problem. Women can take this test and think they're good to go...when really they could have a high FSH of 20, which makes them pretty much infertile. So they'll put off going to the doctor because they think they're normal. When really their levels are much too high, and they need to go to the doctor!

Also FSH alone means nothing in testing. You also need to get the estrodiol level because estrodiol can falsely lower your FSH level anyway. Basically, take this test at entertainment level, it actually tells you nothing about your hormone level. Go to the doctor to get real results!

I had bought a box of the First Response pregnancy tests and the "fertility" test was included as an added bonus. After I started menstruating, I took the test and got a faint line, which is supposed to mean that I'm "normal". In researching this product, I found that it really does NOT give you any indication of whether or not you will be able to conceive. You would have to go to your OBGYN to have labs drawn (blood work) to get a specific level of your FSH (the hormone this test tests for). I would not pay money to do this test again. If you find it as an added bonus in a box of pregnancy tests, though, what the heck... Try it out.

I purchased this product in March 2012 but had not planned to use it until June 2012, so the package was never opened until recently, i started by reading the instructions and it specifically indicated "do not use this product after the expiration date printed on the box", so i checked the box to be sure and to my surprise the product had expired a whole year earlier in FEB 2011.. so i can not complain about the product itself because i never got to use it, but i am shocked and disappointed by the seller responsible for sending out a product that is of absolutely no good use.. . if the issue is not resolved. . i will NOT be using Amazon very much longer, i can promise you that! who can afford to be ripped off ???
