Safety 1st Deluxe Healthcare and Grooming Kit, Pink

Safety 1st Deluxe Healthcare and Grooming Kit, PinkI didn't get this from Amazon but I do have the exact same product. It has everything you need in one handy pouch. The nasal aspirator is horrible but honestly the only one I've ever found useful is the one they give you at the hospital. But I love the combs and brush. I have yet to use the toothbrush but I dont think the bristles are rough. I love this kit because I can put all her stuff on one side and use the other side for my own on the go products (sm toothbrush/paste, deodorant, hairspray...) and it saves room in the diaper bag that way.

This kit has everything a baby needs for safety and grooming....and it's all cute and organized in one little kit. LOVE IT!! i bought this for a friend of mine 4 her baby shower. It was the only thing she had on her Baby Shower Registry list that i thought was really useful. I have 6 kids of my own, so i know what we really use & what will end up in the Good-Will bags like stuff animals. Any-ways it was a big hit at the shower, anyone loved it. I wish i would have had one for my babies. I recommend Highly. Great Buy !!

I bought it because it was pink, but the material looks really cheap. I will post another review once I use the items. Looks can be deceiving.

We added this as part of our baby registry and were excited on receiving it. However, when we opened to check the contents, it turned out the quality of plastic used if of highly low gradeit as much looks like part of some little girl's doll set. The nose aspirator came off into two pieces when we tried to use it.The nail clipper doesn't work. The hair brush and the toothbrush have hard bristles so not very good for an infant or toddler. Its all flashy stuff rolled into one decorative pouch but without any practical purpose!

We recommend buying everything separately and of good quality rather than wasting money on this good for nothing grooming and health care kit!

I have read the one star review for this product and was a little upset.. basically he slams this product because it contains OC which is not as powerful CS... well as a law enforcement officer let me tell u that this is the product that you want for self defence for the following reasons : while it is true that CS gas is much more powerful than OC..CS gas being dispersed in an area disables everybody in that area including you! in self defence you want to disable your attacker! not your wife in bed next to you or your kids...And by the way if you have asthma your response to the chemical will be greatly amplified to the point that you could possibly die... senario; you are a woman walking alone in a dark alley or parking lot, you are under attack , you spray your CS at the attacker, and now you cant run because your eyes are involintarily closing, you're vomiting, and you cant breath let alone yell for help, in fact CS is so strong that any one in the surrounding area who doesnt know that you are in danger but might be able to come to your aide (if they heard your screams)will run, not walk away from the area... it is that powerful!.... OC on the other hand is a targeted weapon which will disable an attacker with a direct hit to the face! You will be minimally affected. Now you can yell, run and get to safety. Far more affective. .......I am a corrections officer in a big city and work on an island. In the jails walking around the housing area with the murders and rapists WE USE OC! and I might add at far less concintration levels than that of the product being sold here! I HAVE USED OC ON CRIMINALS MANY TIMES AND IT WORKS! I HAVE USED CS ON CRIMINALS AND IT WORKS TOO.. BUT ONLY WHILE I HAVE A GAS MASK ON! What one star rater fails to realize is that just because CS is more powerful doesn't mean that its right for self defense. OC is for self defense CS is for crowd control like a riot. Just think, would you want to use a BOMB TO STOP AND ATTACKER OR A GUN TO STOP AN ATTACKER?

If you have a daughter(eighteen +) buy this product, take her out back, put a picture of her ex boyfriend up, make sure you both are up wind, have her fire a stream at the target from about two feet away, tell her not to be afraid to use it if shes in danger. Then take your wife and do the same, and your mother in law and do the same ect... After all that spraying you still have three more full canisters. Give one to your wife, daughter mother in law.......You just gave them a fighting chance!

It was hard to tell which pepper spray to get. Most people do not test them. Once I got my package of four, I took one out.

First off, thumbs up for the easy to remove package. I didn't have to find a knife. The clam pack was easy to open, and the product came right out.

Now, the ding for the one star. It is way too easy to use the stuff. The instructions say something about removing the actuator. There is no actuator. There is a space between the trigger and the top. That's it. It seems like it would be easy for the trigger to get pushed down. I could see this in a purse, and some keys move around, and push down on the trigger. It makes it easy to access, but safeguards are minimal.

I took the spray out to the garage for a test spray. I stood about 20 feet away and gave it a shot. The spray flew straight, true, and strong. It hit the door with a thick stream. I then went up and took a small sniff.

Holy f***. I was coughing and crying immediately. I was laughing for an houring after because I could still feel the effects.

One of these is going in my car, one in my motorcycle jacket pocket, one next to my bed, and one for my wife. This is a great deal. Everyone should have some pepper spray.

I purchased the 4-pack OC spray to carry in my two vehicles and store near my front and rear house doors. The price is very good for 4 three-ounce containers. The OC is 17% so it is the strongest I have seen. Many listed for sale are less but my experience is that 16-17% is best. I tested each and had no trouble hitting a target 10 feet away. I immediately reacted to the backspray so I'm confident that if I have to use it, it will be a good distraction. It did leave a biege-yellow color on the target, which I did not expect (the last I had was colorless) but does not detract from the effectiveness. Be aware these are fairly large containers (about 5in tall and over 1in in diameter). Package was delivered as advertised. Definately recommend.

I bought five 4-packs so far and will probably buy more because at this price, I can hand out multiple bottles to my family members, friends, and even coworkers and still have extras for anyone I meet or remember later that might need some. I sent a 4-pack to my parents, telling my mother, "leave one in the kitchen (away from the stove, obviously), put one where you sit at the computer, put a bottle where you sit and quilt in the afternoon...you can have them throughout the house where if you need one, there is one close by". All the ladies at my job got a couple bottles for Christmas and they ALL told me the same thing, "Oh thank you, I have always meant to get some pepper spray but always...", either forget, or don't know where to find it.

I really like this delivery system with the button on top rather than the kind that have a tab that you can set to SAFETY. These are better in my opinion because they have the plastic top that keeps you from accidently setting it off, but the gap between the button and the safety tab is placed so that your finger naturally goes into it, ready to deploy the spray. I like this better because you can grap the with the intention of using either your pointer finger or thumb and the bottle feels secure in your hand. If you have to grab for the bottle in a hurry, you don't have to worry about the SAFETY tab being set.

Out of the five separate times I have ordered this 4-pack, four of them were this bottles pictured in the description. However, this last order came as a four pack of the other type of bottle, with the red tab. I didn't return the items because they are still a good product, just not the delivery system I prefer.

I ordered the 4 x 3OZ pack to use in a few areas.

I opened the Amazon box, there was a little white bag under the packing.

I opened the bag, thats the only package they were in. The cans all looked (VERY) Used, I took them out side for a test spray.

Can #1 lined up the safty tab to test, push it hard as I could, a little bit ran down the side of the can.

Can #2 Test, Hard push shot out about 1' & all over the can.

Can #3 Test, Shot about 12' But with alot of miss. (Yes even spraying outside the mist got me, This stuff is strong)

Can #4 Test, Pushed, ran down the side on the can, No spray.

Like I said; 4 cans I got wheren't In any package other then a plastic white bag, Very used look to them, stickers on the cans were worn off in spots. Im sending these back for a refund.

If you get a real New package not used crap like i did, You'll be happy w/ the CO 17% Just a little mist got the right side on my face, blinded 1 eye, took my breath away about 2 mins' & burned about 30mins, I wouldnt want to get hit with a full stream.

Dry Disposable Washcloth

Dry Disposable WashclothThese washcloths are nice and durable to clean up your new baby. We've had no problem with any diaper messes and these are great for spit up--as in, leave one on the changing table under your munchkin's neck and it's much easier to clean up! Definitely a must for new parents.

I dislike standard thin paper towels that do very little, and my boyfriend thinks re-using kitchen towels is gross and germy. These are a good compromise because I can use just one to wipe down all the counter tops and then some, and they are disposable so he's not annoyed either. They only thing I would change would be the size if there was a slightly bigger option more like a kitchen towel, that would be ideal. However, these are are the right price, take up little counter space (vs. giant paper towel rolls) and get the job done.

Bought these for travel in Germany since washcloths are not supplied in many overseas hotels, even 4-star properties. These washcloths were perfect, soft enough to use on my face, and very strong. One review complained that they are not very absorbent, but that is not the point, they are not cotton cloths meant to absorb a great deal of water, only enough to be used as a washcloth.

I brought one for each day, but could have reused them several days. One day I forgot to throw it out so the maid left it on a rack to dry; I was surprised that it was very soft, not a bit stiff. I will try using some of these around the house or in the garage to wash dirty items without having to launder afterwards.

I purchased these for my moms' trach dressing. The ones she got from the home health care provider were super soft. When she came to visit me she, ran out so we bought these. They were not the answer to our problem. But they probably would be okay for a washcloth.

These little pocket organizers are super for nurses. I love having everything all together. I keep scissors, clamps, alcohol pads, money for vending machines, pen & highlighter in it and then clip my PulseOx meter to it once done for the day. I never wonder where something is as I'm trying to rush out the door with my needed nursing tools. :O)

Vicks Vicks Behind Ear Gentle Touch Thermometer

Vicks Behind Ear Gentle Touch ThermometerPros Consistent, fast, and when done right gives readings nearly identical to rectal. Once our baby got used to it he doesn't flinch at all while doing it and you can even do it to them when they're asleep without waking them. Also you don't have to disinfect it between uses.

Cons Very sensitive to placement behind the ear... readings can be way off if you don't put it in the right place.

You have to feel and find the soft divot under your earlobe. With our 2 year old, and us, this spot doesn't match the diagram on the device at all. If you can get yourself to find that spot quickly you will like this device. I'm still getting the hang of it.

Take home question; Would I recommend this to someone?

I still consider rectal to be the best number because that's the number the Dr. wants to know when we call... but I generally only want to do rectal once or twice a day on our baby when I already am monitoring a fever. I was dissuaded be forehead and ear thermometers because the over-the-counter models seem to get a lot of negative reviews. The ear models have large probes -I wasn't sure it would even fit in his ear, or whether his ear tubes would affect the reading.

So, I would recommend it with qualifications this far. It is consistent, fast, but it's efficacy is user dependent.

I had bought this when my daughter came down with a fever. When I first tried it I got 103.8 but I didn't put it in the right spot. So placement is everything on this. After several tries behind the earlobe near the soft spot where the vein(Crease) you should be able to get about the same temperature each time which means the thermometer is accurate. I read some of the reviews where people said they would get from 96 to all of sudden 100. I could see where they would get those numbers if you didn't put it the right spot. It is not extremely hard to use but if you don't put it in the right spot it will be incorrect. I gave it a five because 1)Despite reviews when I used it myself it was accurate every time. 2) Didn't need extra sanitary covers to throw away. 3) It is less invasive than rectal, ear, or oral thermometer. Hope this reviews helps moms and dads out there.

I bought this product thinking OMG GREAT! I was SUPER excited i could use it while the baby was sleeping. My son was having a spout of fevers mostly at night starting at about 16 months. So we bought this because i was doing rectal before that. I was so excited that it was easy to use(or so i thought) and didn't wake the baby till the one day I took my son's temperature because he felt very warm, it read to me 96.9, ok thats pretty low, lets try again 96.9, try a different spot(with looking at the diagram and trying to get it as precise as possible)...96.9 ok I don't believe this thing now took his rectal temperature 104.2... If i did not act at that moment I am not sure what could have happened. After going to the doctor he had Coxsackie Virus. which can at points cause dangerously high fevers. I am so upset i spent the money on this product, my cheap rectal one seems to work fine for me. I will NEVER recommend this product to a friend.

I read the 1 star reviews which generally stated that it was difficult to get a good consistent reading which is why the temperature reading was widely variable or inaccurate. I thought that once I understood where to take the reading it would solve that problem. I found that to be much more difficult than expected. The directions on where to place the sensor are poor and even not the same between the directions and the picture on the thermometer. Temperature readings I took ranged from 99 to 103 degrees. I took my child's temp when I knew there was no fever and the readings ranged from 97 to 99. I'm sure it's accurate if one were to get the exact location correctly every time, however I think that is very difficult if not a fundamental design flaw. At a minimum, there should be clear and detailed directions on where exactly to locate the sensor. I generally take about 8 readings every time and get a sense of what kind of temperature my child has.

Also, you have to wait 10 seconds between each reading. It may not seem like a lot, but it's just long enough to be irritating. Especially in the middle of the night and especially when you have to take several readings.

Want Vicks Vicks Behind Ear Gentle Touch Thermometer Discount?

Had some reservations about purchasing this; all the in-ear and forehead thermometers got very mixed reviews, as did this behind-the-ear thermometer. I have a two year-old son that doesn't tolerate anything in his ear, much less his rectum, and I needed something that reads fast and is comfortable for him, with reasonable accuracy. This thermometer delivers on all of these. I haven't experienced the placement sensitivity that others note, but I have noticed that it consistently reads ~1.5 deg F below actual (under tongue) body temperature (I know this by using it on myself). But it does this consistently, so the only time the inaccuracy matters is when it reads 98-99 deg F, which really means a low-grade fever. My son was clearly feverish, and the thermometer read ~100 deg F. When healthy, it reads ~97 deg F for him and for me both. And it does so with repeated measurements. Quick to use, comfortable for my son, and consistent from one temp to the next, the only thing that would get this to 5 stars is an accuracy matching an under-tongue thermometer. I can easily add 1.5 deg to the displayed result, so this is worth the cost.

CURAD Sensitive Skin Strips Spots, 50 Count 4pack

CURAD Sensitive Skin Strips Spots, 50 Count 4packIt may sound silly but I'm a man and I'm a marathon runner after dropping 70 pounds in the past 5 years but I still have a serious problem with bloody/chaffed nipples on long runs that last more than an hour. Nipguards are fine but they're expensive and whenever I'd need them, I wouldn't have them. These work just as good provided you put them on a few hours before running. I assume it takes a while for the adhesive to do its job. I'm a morning runner and as long as I put these on before bed, I can run however far I want in whatever conditions and they will not fall off. I've even forgotten to take them off and have taken a shower and they've stayed on. BUT if you put these on a few minutes before your run, results may vary (so I still keep some nipguards around for the mornings I realize I've forgotten the curads the night before).

I'm not sure if this is what the creators of the product had in mind but I had to mention as one of my best marathon related tips/tools.

I wear these for long runs to combat nipple chafing. They work great. I have worn them up to 10 miles with no sign of it coming off. I would guess that it will stay on for much longer.

A must-have item for wide scrapes and scratches. For instance, say your beloved descends from the attic, the ladder slides out from under his feet and he slips several inches down a rough wood surface. As he dangles from the edge of the attic opening, he drips blood whilst you right the ladder. Yep, that's when a 3-inch roll of gauze comes in handy. Since Mr. Weightlifter has a big upper arm, now covered in long scrapes, you whip out the bandage roll and anti-biotic cream and wrap away. And away. Good thing there's 2+ yards of the stuff.

Antiseptic First Aid Cream 1 1/2 Oz Tube

Antiseptic First Aid Cream 1 1/2 Oz TubeI was disappointed when I discovered that J&J had discontinued their First Aid Cream. but apparently it was picked up by Ambix Labs.

it is almost identical to the J&J First Aid Cream. maybe a little more creamy, but otherwise identical non-greasy first aid cream.

I ordered a dozen and am very happy with this product.

I used the Johnson's first aid cream for years for everything from poison ivy to burns to scrapes, etc. This is not at all the same, because Johnson's had a beeswax base, and eventually had a synthetic beeswax base. It is markedly different than the petroleum base other companies are passing off as first aid cream. I am guessing that beeswax, natural and synthetic, is getting costly, and is now priced out of the market. I checked beeswax health products, and they are selling for about $10 to $20 and ounce, making a tube of Johnson's first aid cream of 1.5 ounces in the $20 a tube range, not including the other ingredients. This particular cream doesn't seem to have any of the necessary ingredients as far as I can tell, and does not work for the conditions I used the Johnsons for... that being said, I don't know if it will be effective beyond being a suitable substitute for the original, which is the only reason I bought it. If anyone comes across a brand with a beeswax base, please let us all know, but I don't expect one to come on the market because the cost will be too prohibitive, which is probably why Johnson discontinued it. For some reason, beeswax in combination with antiseptic and anasthetic ingredients, had peculiar healing properties the petroleum lacks. At least that is my experience, others may experience otherwise, judging from the other reviews.

I have been a fan of J&J First Aid Cream for 40 years, that is until they apparently discontinued what to me was a perfect product. There are certain kinds of abrasions and burns that it was perfect for. When I found out a few years ago that it was being discontinued, I bought a bunch, which has almost run out. Then the task was to find a replacement. The Ambix product is the closest thing I've found. They are not using all the "same" elemets (as can easily be seen on the ingredients), but it is pretty similar. It is definately less viscous, or more watery. But it is a pretty good replacement for the perfect product.

I LOVED J & J's First Aid Cream. Alas, they no longer produce it. This cream is the closest to it that I could find, after much local and online searching. What was better about the J & J cream was that it had NO odor at all and it was even more soothing and healing than this cream. I tried to contact J & J to ask that they produce their cream again, but couldn't get through the layers of bureaucracy to even express my request.

These are the ingredients in Johnson & Johnson First aid cream taken from my last tube:

beeswax "benzyl alcohol""cetyl alcohol""cetylpyridinium chloride" "glyceryl stearate" "hydroxypropyl methylcellulose" "isopropyl palmitate" "stearyl alcohol" "palmitamidopropyl trimonium chloride" "trisodium phosphate"

So this is not the same. I can't imagine why J&J discontinued their fine product.

MDF® Classic CardiologyTM Stethoscope Color: Burgundy

MDF® Classic CardiologyTM Stethoscope Color: BurgundyThere other many cardiology scopes available and personal preference ultimately determines which one works best for the provider. I have used ADC, Littmann and now MDF brands. The ADC scope's tubing was too short for convenient use and the sounds from these scopes seemed distant or faint to me. The Littmann cardiology models all had " tune-able" diaphrams. To be honest, this took some getting used to but once that happened the scope was exceptional. I was unable to test the MFD because when it arrived the Binaural Assembly was broken. I do not intend to reorder a replacement because I didn't see anything that set it apart from my Littmann. MDF does make a very good Rappaport model that I always use when on the "street" and I do recommend that one as a very cost effective stethoscope.
