I know other reviewers have stated that the quality of this item was inferior, that the material was plastic rather than metal, etc. and gave this pill container a poor rating.
While I cannot speak for their experience, I can assure anyone contemplating purchasing this pill container that my experience was excellent. This product arrived exactly as pictured and as described: It has a finely machined aluminum body (and, since I have a background in aluminum metallurgy, I feel qualified to say that this seems to be a very high grade of aluminum extrusion); the top and case are carefully threaded and go together smoothly and completely; the O-ring provides an excellent seal; the interior has a smooth, white plastic coating that creates a much cleaner-looking environment for pills or caps you're going to be putting into your mouth at some point; and the inside of the cap has a mirrored finish.
The 1-inch diameter is especially appealing. While a bit bulky for trouser pockets, it is essential if you must carry several pills at once, especially large capsules. Its larger capacity was a great selling point for this item.
I bought my first pill container of this design about 15 years ago from a mail order catalog (think of a herring that weighs a ton). It was made in Germany, was from machined stainless steel, and cost about $25, plus S&H. It had the same depth as the item offered here, but had only a 3/4-inch diameter, so it's capacity was limited. I have since found similar containers in drugstores that were poorly made of an inferior grade aluminum and cost about the same price as the containers offered here. I also have found a plastic version of the original stainless model and prefer it to the stainless because it is lighter in one's pocket and also does not conduct body heat.
The container offered here, because of its plastic lining, also should conduct less body heat, keeping medications that must stay within a certain temperature range to retain their effectiveness safely cool.
If this seller has difficulty with their supplier and occasionally substitutes an inferior item, that is unfortunate. But that definitely was NOT the case with me. I could not be happier with this purchase and recommend it highly.

My husband had a kidney transplant last May and takes 17 different pills 4 times a day. I spent a long time reading reviews and chose this one because of the size. It's absolutely perfect! If you have any kind of condition that requires you to take a large amount of meds at regular intervals, this is the easiest way to make sure you have all meds at all times.
This thing is super sturdy and has a screw top, so if you drop it or it gets jostled around your pills are safe and fine inside. We've never had pills break/turn into dust, but then maybe we don't shake our keys around as much as other people.

IT HAS A KEYCHAIN HOLE TO REMEDY THAT. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU CUSHION YOUR PILLS WITH COTTON SO THEY DON'T RATTLE INSIDE AND TURN DUSTY. GEL CAPSULES SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM.

I attached my cell phone and spare keys. Does not come unscrewed with x3 daily use. I resent that it is not as advertised.. it is plastic. The threading is pretty good, but it is not brass, as described. No one likes to be fooled.

This product is over 2" long, the length and diameter are incorrect on the website! The dimensions listed for this "large pill holder" are for the medium size! If you want something that fits in your pocket, this is not it. When I contacted the company to let them know something was wrong they were very kind and sent me a small and medium size as well.
