PILL CONTAINER - First Aid - MEDICAL ALERT - Key Chain with Water Resistance - Large Size / Color B

PILL CONTAINER - First Aid - MEDICAL ALERT - Key Chain with Water Resistance - Large Size / Color BLACKI was using a plastic pill case and having it in my pocket everyday was causing it to chip and break so I was constantly replacing it with a new one. During my last search for a pill case I came across this container. It looked like it would take the abuse from other items in my pocket, stay dry, and be easily available for my pills. Now that I have it, I don't know how I did without it before. It works terrific for a pill case!

First Aid Only 2" X 2" Gauze Dressing Pad, 50-Count Boxes (Pack of 6)

First Aid Only 2' X 2' Gauze Dressing Pad, 50-Count BoxesThe product is nothing like the other gauzes I've used in the past. It has an open weave made out of what looks like string and has no absorbency at all. It is coarse feeling and feels scratchy, not soft against the skin. I use gauzes with a special cleanser for my eyes. This product felt like I was using sandpaper against the eye lid and, because of the open weave, most of the cleanser dripped through. I am now stuck with the product as I did not need the product right away so did not open the box until I needed it (I'll know better next time) so by the time I tried it, the 30 days had passed.

These gauze pads are extremely cheap feeling and you can see through them. You get what you pay for, and I highly recommend searching elsewhere and paying more for gauze pads.

Practi-Shield Manikin Practice CPR Face Barrier, Box/50These are a great deal for the CPR classes I teach. They are much cheaper than plastic valves for mouth-to-mask ventilations.

At this price .. I had concerns as to the shields being thin.. the description noted one time use. For my first class was prepared to use 2 or 3 barriers per student..Wasn't the case..not one tore.. These hold up to multi hours of use.. "Very" nice training product..

I just purchased these for an upcoming CPR class and decided to test it myself before class. The price was fair and they were shipped promptly. My complaint is that they are too hard to breath thru and it makes giving breaths to the manikin much more difficult.

70% Iso Alcohol Pint - Part #: 81043

70% Iso Alcohol Pint - Part #: 81043We keep a few basic medical supplies around the house such as hydrogen peroxide and isopropyl alcohol. The latter can be used as rubbing alcohol or as a disinfectant for minor scrapes and scratches. It's good to have these things around. They're very inexpensive and have a long shelf life. We purchased them at a nearby neighborhood grocery store. Swan is the only brand they carry. Lately, my wife has been using the isopropyl alcohol for an additional use that surprised me. She's an artist who produces what are known as "newborn dolls." She buys blank vinyl doll parts from sculptors who produce such things and brings them to life by painting them. Believe me, they're extremely realistic. Drop me a note and I'll send you an image of one. She uses isopropyl alcohol as a cleaning agent on the vinyl doll parts. Then she buys colored paints in very small containers and uses small amounts of a paint thinner to dissolve the dye in order to paint the doll. Then she bakes the doll parts in an oven in order to get rid of the the isopropyl alcohol and paint thinner and to dry the paint. Each doll part requires about 6 or 7 paintings and dryings to produce the end result. Fortunately, at least the alcohol and thinner part of the process is very inexpensive.

Gary Peterson

It's rubbing alcohol. What do you want me to say about it? It works *so* well? Actually, it works just like all the others. I haven't been able to discern any differences between rubbing alcohols ever. I don't drink them ha ha!

I think 5 dollars for this small bottle seems regular price in other market. (It could be cheaper depending on where you bought.) When I first saw this 16oz bottle, it was a bit smaller than I expected. Next time, I will consider to buy 100% alcohol rather than 70% to see whether it is still small or bigger than this.

Adventure Medical Kits Pocket Survival Pack

AMK Doug Ritter Pocket Survival PackDoug Ritter and his foundation, Equipped to Survive, has come up with a very economic method to equip yourself and your family with an emergency kit. It is small enough to carry unnoticed in a pocket, yet fully functional.

Although you can control the amount of certain items if you put together your own kit (something of a rite of passage among the survivalists/emergency preparedness folk), I spent twice as much putting together a comparable kit. The military issue sparklite and tinder-quick, Fox-40 whistle, and Rescue Flash signal mirror alone could cover the cost of the kit and they are all top notch gear. This pack is extremely high quality through and through, from choice of equipment to packing and instructions. I recommend looking at the ETS website at the slideshow of how such a kit is put together and what Doug Ritter himself recommends that you add to the kit (the pouch can hold a few more small items such as water purification tabs).

The Pocket Survival Pack is an amazing value. I've purchased all of the items separately, and just the shipping or driving to pick up 3 or 4 of the items probably covers half the cost! If you are lucky enough to get everything at one store, you'd be hard pressed to get the entire kit as cheap as this. I know people who have purchased this kit to take the parts for their own self-built survival kits! That's how economical it is. Plus, if you buy this PSP, a portion of the proceeds goes to the ETS non-profit group which gives free survival consulting to deployed troops and is actively involved in improving survival equipment and standards. In fact, Doug Ritter is the only consumer advocate working with the governing body on personal locator beacons used in marine, aviation, and remote travel.

The kit itself comes in a waterproof container. I found it to be a bit tight when closing back up, but there is actually some room for more items. All components are of the highest quality. It's lightweight and I never notice it in a pocket. With the recommended ETS or similar keychain LED flashlight and a good pocket folding knife, you have a complete survival kit that rivals ones costing $100+. These are cheap enough to get one for each car and any camping/hiking/marine/aviation gear you might have. I highly recommend this PSP. I'm not affiliated with ETS, but I've come to appreciate their no-nonsense advice and forums. And if this was a bad kit, I'd still say so. I give it 5 stars, great value for the price and it really could save your life.

I've been looking over Doug Ritter's website for a while and finally broke down and bought two of these kits. In short: this is a fantastic bargain, and is truly a useful set of things to have with you if the poo poo hits the fan near you. The spark-lite sparker and tinder is worth $8 alone, the signal mirror is worth another $6, and there's half of the purchase price covered right there. All of the components are very deliberately selected to be easily useful, to work together to improve your chances, and to be impressively affordable.

I found that there is enough extra space in the pouch for a keychain LED light, six hurricane matches with striking strip wrapped in foil, and 10 Potable Aqua tablets in a perfume vial. You lose the ability to fold the top over when you add these things, but I'm keeping my kit in a backpack pocket, not in a pants pocket. So, not a problem for me.

I also decided to make a more substantial survival kit for when I'm backpacking. After doing a little looking around and checking prices on the individual bits and pieces, I chose to use my second Pocket Survival Pak as the starting point. This saved me a bundle of time and effort, knowing that all of the components were very high quality and already configured to be compact and ready to go. The only thing I didn't use in the bigger kit was the tiny compass. Even the vinyl pouch became the first aid kit holder in the bigger survival kit.

In closing, this is an amazingly well-conceived set of items that you may need some day, packaged in such a way that you're likely to have them on you when that time comes. I can't say enough about this kit. Truly amazing.

I think this survival kit deserves another 5-star review. At 3.9 oz., this kit is small, and that's a good thing to me. It's amazing how much stuff is in this little bag. All of the items are of the best quality. The signal mirror is beautiful. The inclusion of a lens magnifier is something I haven't seen in almost any other kit (great backup for fire starting). I know the firestarter that comes with it is normally about $8 just by itself. I just tried out the Fox 40 Micro whistle, and it's so loud, my ears started ringing (be careful). For a complete personal kit, I would recommend adding a knife, light, survival blanket, water purification tablets, wire saw, and a water bag. For the price, you can't get a better survival kit than this. I am really impressed by the quality here. My only minor complaint is that I wish they made the bag that the items come in a little bigger. I have trouble fitting everything in there properly and keeping it closed after I've taken items out and tried to get everything back in. That's almost not even worth mentioning though because this kit is excellent. I've bought other kits before... the kinds that tell you they have a signal mirror until you find out they mean the inside of the tin can the items come in. Not cool. This AMK Pocket Survival Pack is the best.

No idea why anyone would think it's cheaper to buy these items separately as noted in some reviews with other sellers. That's just flat out wrong as far as both my experience and common sense shopping dictates. My guess is that the person doesn't like pre-packaged kits (and rightly so!). But this kits is an exception among the dross.

I can't even pretend to be a serious survivalist type like some reviewers. I'm a suburban stay-at-home-mom with an interest in preparedness because it is part of my duty to care for my family.

I bought my Adventure Medical Kits Pocket Survival Pack in November 2009 and also gave them to several family members that holiday season. I've had mine in my purse at all times since, except when flying as I don't want to risk having it confiscated so I put in checked luggage or mail it ahead with my pocket knife. (I also carry a flashlight and first aid kit at all times.)

Last weekend, while on a hike and picnic for my son's class at a local conservation area, it was grey and rainy and colder than expected. We discovered a fire pit when we got to the picnic site, and everyone was saying how great it would be to light a fire if only we'd planned ahead and brought matches. Someone was talking about hiking back to the cars if anyone carried matches when I remembered my little survival pack. Lo and behold, we were able to get a fire started on a damp day using scavenged downfall wood with just one bundle of Tinder Quick Firestarter and the Spark-Lite Fire Starter.

Every item fits neatly in the kit and they will go back in if you unpack it to inspect the contents. I'm very pleased with the quality of the included items and the form factor is absolutely phenomenal. Seeing the kit proven useful in the field makes it even better.

Deluxe Metatarsal Cushion Interchangeable for Left or Right Foot Small

Deluxe Metatarsal Cushion Interchangeable for Left or Right Foot SmallI like these foot cushions a lot and i try to wear them whenever i can but they don't always work. For one, they are not very comfortable to wear with heels because they add to much bulk resulting in the heels having a tighter fit. The second this that the little strap that slides onto your toe should have more bandage/cushion grip because it has a tendency to slide around sometimes.

BACITRACIN-ZINC OINTMENT *FOU Size: 1 OZ

BACITRACIN-ZINC OINTMENT *FOU Size: 1 OZThis product works well on cuts and open scores. Heals them quickly. I received the item on time and as promised. I gave this item five stars because I think it is great.

Warning: Amazon Marketplace listing is VERY misleading: Sept. 2010 it states "Price: $3.80 ($0.79/oz)" and "Item Weight: 4.8 ounces, Shipping Weight: 6.4 ounces", indicates the tube is 4.8oz "item weight" same as math $3.8/0.79oz=4.8oz. The image it low resolution so can not zoom in to see it clearly. I bought 4 tubes from "NY Health Beauty" ($6.12 each including SH), but sadly got four 1.0oz tubes! IF you order assume you will get 1oz tubes, especially if ordering from NY Health Beauty, verses the incorrect ad info of >4.oz per tube. Several vendor choices are listed, am not sure how to spread the blame on Amazon verses the vendors.

PS Since I need more oz, I will try another place like wheelchairselect.com listing: Dynarex Bacitracin Zinc Ointment 15oz for 4.99+$5.95 SH, or just buy it locally.

Band-Aid plus Antibiotic Assorted Sizes -- 20 Bandages

Band-Aid plus Antibiotic Assorted Sizes -- 20 BandagesAfter a couple of uses, I decided that I was happy enough with this product to make it my default Band-Aid and include it in my cars' first aid kits.

I will not discuss the great virtues of Band-Aids because the brand is hardly a novelty. Since I had a good experience with the 'plus Antibiotic' version, I thought it might help someone if I discussed how this is different from the other Band-Aid products.

It adheres well to the skin. The last one I used, on a thumb cut, stayed tight for 2 days and survived 2 showers and several hand-washing sessions.

The adhesive bands are transparent to the point that it was hard to notice that I was actually wearing a Band-Aid. Kids who like the colored variety may not appreciate this.

It's very easy to apply. I could do it with one hand without a problem remember, my cut was on a thumb.

It's easy to remove.

My skin is rather sensitive but I noticed only a very mild rash on the side of the thumb opposite to the wound, caused by the glue.

The added antibiotic seems to be quite effective at healing wounds faster.

Since it's medicated, it actually has an expiration date.

For those who understand what this means, the 'active ingredients' statement on the box says: Each gram of ointment contains Polymixin B Sulfate 10,000 units and Bacitracin Zinc 500 units in a special white petrolatum base.

Nexcare Transpore Clear 2-Inch Wide First Aid Tape, 10-Yard RollI love this tape! Also the one-inch size. They stick very well, but don't take your skin off when you remove it. (Paper tape is awful. Doesn't stick to my skin.) Both tear easily, and can be torn lengthwise as well.

God bless Nexcare. They vastly improved bandaging in many ways.

Seal Easy Face Mask, Adult & Peds Comp.

Seal Easy Face Mask, Adult & Peds Comp. These masks are excellent for Lifeguards!! My District employer purchases these for all the guards, they have an excellent seal and are perfect for rescue breathing. They keep the water out, and come with a one way valve to prevent anything coming out of the victims mouth from getting into yours! Much better than the lip masks they give you in safety class!

I am an EMT and a CPR Instructor, and these are the BEST mask ever made. In the fire district I'm in, whenever we use a BVM and repalce it, we throw away the mask that comes with it and put in one of these. They are easier to seal (which is vital when ventillating) than any other mask I've ever used. I really have no idea why the old style masks are even still made.
