I grew up using Monkey Blood (Merthiolate) for cuts and scrapes and always relied on it to heal something fast with NO infection. Have carefully collected every last drop from every bottle my grandparents had left, and it was almost all gone! Got a wild hair one night and decided to search on Amazon....to my surprise, there it was. Order a box of 6, shared one with each of my children, and now we are all set for the near future. The only thing is you have to buy a 6 pack. That's enough to last a lifetime or heal China. It gives you the same painful burn when applied like Mom used to do. A skinned knee or elbow always hurt, but NOTHING could produce a scream like when Ma would spread on the ol' merthiolate! After my parents would pull me down from clutching the ceiling from the burning it created and a good night sleep, I'd awaken to a scabbed over wound that was already on the way to healing. It also leaves the impressive red stain on the skin to proudly show off your battle wounds. Yep, it still works like it once did.

DormDoc Student First Aid/OTC Med Kit - 120 Piece

I got this for my college student daughter. As another reviewer noted, the packaging is flimsy. All 120 items are in two pouches, like the plastic pencil pouches you put in a three-ring binder. When my daughter tried to use the first aid supplies in the first pouch, she couldn't get them to fit back into the pouch. After several attempts, the "zipper" came off the track and won't close. The same thing happened with the second pouch containing all the medications. Also, she'll use the ibuprofen, but the only cold medicine has a pain reliever AND a cough medication AND an expectorant AND a decongestant in it. The phenylephrine decongestant made her "jittery", so she can't use the combination medicine. I wish she could take just the medicine she needs for the symptoms she has. Anyway, It's an interesting idea, but next time I'll put the money into different supplies in a sturdier container.

Arrived very fast however its mostly sample sizes, and the zippered pouch broke as soon as I unzipped it. Very cheap plastic. This is very expensive for what you get. I am questioning the honesty of the other reviews on this item.

Our daughter heads off to college in two weeks, and we've been buying things for her dorm room. I stumbled across this first aid kit here on Amazon, and I'm very happy with it. It has everything necessary to handle most minor injuries or illnesses, all filed away in two convenient zipper pouches, and zipped into a slim-profile, handled case that will fit under her bed or on a closet shelf. It also has an information sheet to advise on medication dosage or injury care.

Inside one pouch is a selection of Advil, Tylenol, Midol, Benadryl, Immodium AD, cold pills, Maalox, cough drops, and more. Detail: I have four wrist braces. (1) This one, (2) ACE Brand Wrist Brace OSFA 207306 (small, beige, wrap around wrist with thumb loop: link), (3) Mueller Carpal Tunnel Wrist Brace (longer, beige, with metal splint 'spoon': link), and (4) Ace or Futuro Deluxe Wrist Stabilizer, Right Hand (long, beige, also with metal support: Ace and Futuro links).

1, 2 and 3 are great and each useful for a different level of pain. 4 sucks and should never be made, let alone purchased, because IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS 3, THE MUELLER CARPAL TUNNEL WRIST BRACE, *MINUS* thumb wholes on both sides. So #4 cannot be used on both hands, and apparently comes in more nit picky sizes? Whereas #3, Mueller one is more flexible= fits both hands Comfortably and broader range sizes = great. And you're being able to wear it on both hands makes a BIG difference, especially if you hurt your other hand, or when your spouse or kid needs one too and you're done with it. Unless you want a huge brace collection of course.

1, this one, is for moderate 3-7/10 pain or discomfort (yes, a wide range) and can be worn for a long time (more than 4hours for sure). I'd say it's for a wide range of discomfort because its steel springs give you great stability, while still FLEXIBLE (mildly bendable and so packable), MEDIUM sized (not too big, not too small), and with the comfort you may wear it a long time even if you have little pain. Whereas others, like 3 or evil 4, are not super comfortable and kind of dig in your skin after a while but give you 10/10 top support, so you won't want to wear it all the time. Only when you're hurting enough to put up with the bulk, zero flexibility, and mild discomfort.

So, 1 can be worn often, 3 or 4 less frequently. 2, the wrist wrap (seen here, just remove the spaces: com/shc/s/ p_10175_27151_01348176000P) gives minimal support, like for 1-4/10 pain BUT it's most convenient, easiest to pack, and LEAST noticeable and bulk. So if you're going to a party and you don't want the world to notice, but you want Some wrist support, wear this. Or something like this. Nothing special here...just a wrap, with velcro closure, and a thumb loop. but still great! Puts pressure and holds well and strong.

ALSO, obviously you can't wash dishes, or shower with 3 or 4, but YOU CAN WITH 1 THE WRAP! It's handy for that too!! It has saved me there many times. I haven't tried with this mueller one, because I've been too scared of ruining it as it IS more expensive than others, especially the wrap, which was around 3-4bucks.

I know that's a lot, but hopefully it helps someone out there. I know my brace-finding adventures where a headache, and I really went through reviews. They're always very helpful for me. Good luck!

I bought this since I have been getting some pain in a wrist I had broken a few years ago. I had a larger splint type brace that is just too bulky to wear during the day too much. I had good experiences with other Hg80 braces so I went with this one although it was more expensive than a lot of the others. Well first off I don't find that it is as much a brace as it is just a support. For me it doesn't really keep the wrist fixed at all, it just seems to rely on compression and the heat that the material provides. I don't think it goes high enough on the hand to keep the wrist in place and the area you tighten the wrap is a little too low so there's some looseness that makes it pretty easy to move the wrist a lot. As some of the other reviews have stated this is a good property if you want to have the support while doing activities, but I tend to think of a brace as something that is more rigid and this is fairly flexible, again more like a support. Put it this way, for some heavy weight lifting I use some wrist wraps (like $5) and they are a support yet they do a better job of restricting motion than this will. But ok, it wasn't what I thought it was but that isn't the sole reason for my rating. The main reason I cant give it a high rating is that the part that loops over the thumb literally digs into the area between the thump and fingers and makes it too uncomfortable to wear for long. I'm not sure if this is just something I get or not but it rubs that area so much and I think if I kept wearing it I would get a blister. So I cant rate it better than I did because its not a "brace" in the sense that it isn't firm enough, and as a support I feel like I can get a more effective support for about $5 just using some valeo wrist wraps. Add in that it is uncomfortable for me to wear it long and there's no way I can recommend this.

This brace looks very sleek but lacks any practical function. the Muller hg80 Wrist Brace is described as having "firm support" as soon you open the package an you can see how loose and flimsy the brace really is. You could get just as much support from a sweatband than this brace. When you put the brace on it bunches up like an leather bag, this makes the brace very uncomfortable. After wearing it for 5 minutes I got a rash.

I ordered this item back in the spring specifically because the picture on the item showed these were the non-stick pads with adhesive tabs. Obviously that is the item I wanted. I removed the first box from the plastic packaging and used it without issue. This weekend I removed a second box. Upon opening the pad I found there were no tabs. I looked carefully at the box and then carefully at the remaining boxes to find only the one box I initially used had the adhesive, all the rest were regular pads. I find this to be very deceptive and am really disappointed that amazon would pull something like this. Of course now it's to late to return them and get an exchange for the proper product. So if you're considering purchasing this item here is a picture of what you will ACTUALLY receive.

I wish these were easier to find in the stores. Tabs that stick on the side are nice and wide. I wish these were made in more sizes and I wish there was adhesive on all 4 sides. Perfect for wound care drainage, especially with the non-stick surface.

I suffer some sever back pain. I attend physical therapy, chiropractors, and pain management. I get trigger point injections, I use electrical stimulation, acupuncture, and an infinite amount of pills, creams, and patches. Through all of that, BioFreeze gives me pretty decent and quick relief. The biggest negative I have at all is the strong, menthol smell. Also, compared to other pain relieving gels, it requires quite a bit of product to cover surface area. If you can get past the smell and the constant reapplying, the deep and lasting pain relief is really good. It works better than than my prescription lidocaine ointment and lasts longer. The only product I can compare BioFreeze to is Tiger Balm. BioFreeze works quite well, but I personally prefer Tiger Balm a bit better. They both smell poorly, but they both work really nicely. I find that Tiger Balm lasts slightly longer than BioFreeze (on my body and in the jar), however BioFreeze rubs in more and leaves less of a greasy texture, though you need more of it. Overall BioFreeze is a good product, and I definitely recommend it to anyone with any chronic pain or for temporary soreness or sprainsbut Tiger Balm is also worth a try.

As a soccer and softball coach, this is a good start, needs a few more things that are easy added in later. Bag is good plenty of room even for the things that are missing.

I added more instant cold compresses, a bigger selection of bandaids and sports tape. The pre-wrap is fine, but the tape that comes with it is not very good.

Would by again, just make sure you get a few of the extras before you need them!

The thing you are likely to use most is the nail clipper. But it is very blunt!!! And the special cover on the clipper makes cutting the nails impossible, unless baby's nail is very very long. If I wait until the nails are long enough to cut by this thing, my 3-month-old would have scratched his face and head. I end up buying a new baby nail clipper with a big handle and magnifying glass from nearby pharmacy. That worked much better.

I haven't needed to use 1/2 of the stuff in it yet but for the price I was expecting better quality. The case and the tools feel cheep and I can't get the cheep plastic smell out of any of the things in it. The bulb sucker thing is really stiff and hard to use, I had to buy another one. I have also used the dropper and clippers, they worked fine. I think you could probably save a lot of money by buying everything separate but I'm glad I got a full kit instead because I had no idea what I was going to need.

If you are looking to stock a survival box, shelter, etc, the bulk cases are a good deal given the high quality, taste, and compact size.

I had been buying these at Cheaper Than Dirt for $1.44 each and more recently at Emergency Essentials where the Variety Pack had them at $1.29 ea. Those prices included shipping. I went to ask.com and searched for the lowest price for them as they are a big hit with the family for our emergency supplies. A NEXTAG hit took me to an Amazon page which said this (I copied directly from that page):

That was only $1.12 each. A great bargain. I ordered two packs. But, when I went to my orders, I had been charged $36.35. That came out to $1.51 per bar. No bargain at all!

I tried to cancel. But, though it had only been an hour, (And, it was Sunday) the automated system said it was too late.

They arrived today (Friday). I got 16 Cherry, 15 Coconut and 17 Apricot. The picture of their pack showed at l,east 10 different flavors. 3 is not much of a variety! We have tried all their flavors. Apricot and Coconut are at the bottom on my familys' tastiness chart. But, we've got them now. Live and learn (to like Apricot!)... Buyers If you want these great energy bars, go to Emergency Essentials. They give you a good price and real variety!

The best thing about these is the thick wrapper. It is a very heavy foil and that gives me peace of mind knowing that the vacuum seal won't leak. They all pretty much taste the same regardless of flavor. The flavoring is very mild but it is present. Overall, they are like a really, REALLY dense shortbread cookie and are pretty decent tasting. Perfect for the E.D.C. bag or the B.O.B. The ones I ordered are good through 2016 but you know how that goes. If the vacuum seal is still in tact, I would feel good about eating them long after that.

Each bar looks like compressed brown sugar,but have different flavors.The bars are surprisingly good.I intend on ordering more.Each bar has 400 calories.

These seem like good emergency food, but I wouldn't eat them on a daily basis. Each bar has the same main ingredients/nutrition/color/consistency, the only diference is the flavor.

My flavor assortment was:

6 blueberry

6 tropical fruits

6 cherry

3 apricot

3 coconut

The first ingredients are: sugar, vegetable shortening, flour, cornstarch, wheat gluten, dextrose, dessicated coconut, corn syrup.... (it goes on to list a bunch of chemicals, preservatives, and added vitamins)

OLAES 6" Modular Bandage

It's a gunshot wound trauma bandage. Thankfully, I haven't had to use it, so I haven't opened it. But from everything I see, I like it.

I have played with most of the major brands, HH, IBD etc. They all work, so if you are very price sensitive just go with the cheapest. This one does have some nice features.

1. packaging, most all are vacuum sealed to compress them, this one seems to have held its seal much better than others

2. design, love the occular protector that is built in (the hard plastic center doubles as an eye protection dressing) not that useful but could be handy

3 design-2 and much more important the bulk of the dressing can be pulled out and and used in multiple locations (in and out for example), I carry additional gauze but this makes it less necessary, if you are limited on space this makes the dressing much more useful
