These use to be standard issue to just about everyone involved in outdoor sports and activities. More than just a "salt tablet" these Electrolyte tablets are just what you need for to prevent, or treat, cramping and other issues related to strenuous activity. It's like drinking a sports drink without all the sugar, other carbs, and crap you don't need. Also, a great electrolyte treatment for those vomiting or with diarrhea that could be harmed by the consumption of sugary sports drinks. A staple in all my first aid kits.
