Be Red Cross Ready First Aid Kit - 9165-RC - RED

Be Red Cross Ready First Aid Kit - 9165-RC - RED
  • From basic first aid to more comprehensive emergency situations, this First Aid Kit has the necessities covered.

I bought this to fit in my shoulder pack that I take to work. Its small enough and does not weigh it down. This is in case I survive a earthquake downtown and I am trapped or in a situation that I can't get home. I added water and ER barsboth with 5 year shelf life to make this more complete. Also a medical mini pen light.

We ordered this item to give as a thoughtful gift. We relied on the Red Cross reputation, the picture of the item and the substantial price. After receiving it, we would be embarrassed to offer this as a gift to anyone. I mean, it was light weight, arrived in a mailing envelope and the zippered case is chintzy and cheap. After seeing this, I would be hard pressed to pay even $10.00 for this item. Absolutely not worth the price paid which was almost three times that.

Don't waste your money on this product. I tried it and not only did it not work whatsoever, but it also caused me to get a bladder infection and a yeast infection. I had never had either infection prior to using this product so I feel that this product caused it. Definitely not worth it!

Poise Hourglass Pads, Ultimate, 27 CountI have used a couple of other pads for Incontinence, but have found Poise to the be best. Like the new hourglass shape, but wish they made it in the longer size. Appreciated the free shipping from Amazon, but would have appreciated it more, if I didn't have to order quite such a large order. Pricing at Amazon is competitive w/local retail in my area.

Poise Hourglass Pads, Ultimate, 27 Count This is an excellent pad. The sides that extend are fabric only so no glue stuff. I will now use only The Poise Hourglass Pads (both the Ultimate and Moderate). Thank you Poise for designing a great pad! Thank you Amazon for offering this Pad on Prime Eligible! The new hourglass shape is not only more comfortable than the straight pads, it makes the pads more efficient by minimizing the side leaks that occur if the pad bunch up. I was skeptical about the length because I had been using the extra long variety , but I found my worries to be groundless. The hourglass shape and aborbent filling make these very effective.

I think that they are a big improvement over the traditionally shaped incontinence pads.

I was surprised that these worked really well. I have not had that much luck with Poise and usually defer to Tena, these pads were terrific.

Mepitac - 3/4" x 118" - Box

Mepitac - 3/4' x 118' - BoxThe tape arrived in a timely manner, well packaged, and exactly as the specifications indicated. It works properly and there were no surprises. Met every expectation. Will order again if needed, without hesitation.

It works properly and there were no surprises, it has just enough adhesive to stay on but not so much that it injures upon removal.

SE - Small Pill/ID Holder Keychain (Assorted Colors)

SE - Small Pill/ID Holder Keychain
  • Specifically designed to hold a side putting pills in and for many other usage ways
  • 5pcs small size 1/2 in. diameter and 1 3/4 in. length plus 1/2 in. ring
  • Lightweight yet practically indestructible and made out of machined aluminum
  • Assorted 5 colors may vary from the original manufacture

Many other reviewers have mentioned that the interior dimensions of the plastic bottle inside the aluminum tube is very, very small. I thought I would chance it since my pills are very small as well.

Oops. I won't be able to fit them in the plastic bottle. But I will use it and see if the metal rubs off or the pills degrade. We'll see.

I put a picture in the customer images section above, showing the size with a ruler for reference.

These are the perfect size for five (5) low dose aspirin (81 mg), anything larger and they will not fit. There is an inner plastic container with a cap that fits in the aluminum casing. You can fit a larger size tables if you remove the inner container as long as it is close to the inner diameter of the aluminum casing. The inner container keeps the smaller tablets from rattling around and breaking themselves apart against the aluminum. The container has a rubber O ring sealing the top to the bottom, so it is waterproof, and the key chain ring on the top is perfect to attach top your key ring. I gave them as gifts and everyone thought it was a great idea.

Perfect for holding 5 or 6 ibuprofen tablets. I now have coworkers coming up to me at the first sign of a headache because they know I'll always have some on me! Very handy. The case is also small enough to not cause any discomfort while in my pants pocket.

These are SUPER small. A single regular Tylenol capsule (not gel cap) will barely fit into the interior capsule. If ur lucky enough to have uber small meds then this is the bomb. Most pills, gel-caps, etc. will not fit. My meds are to large for this, so it's kinda useless for me. Stocking stuffers next year, right. Haaaaha. Especially the festive red & green ones. xcept...who wants to think bout their meds while checking their xmas stocking. ;-/

I ordered these after losing a plastic water tight pill capsule that I've had for years. Loved it because plastic doesn't conduct heat as much as aluminum and is quiet & lite in the pocket. I thankfully also order the medium ones available on there. But, man-oh-man it's big. Sure wish there was an inbetween size like my old one. Think: "Are u happy to see me, or is that an impressive pill capsule in ur pocket ;-) Oh, an as for the colors.....sure wish there was the option to just get the silver color for all of 'em cuz....who want's to draw attention to a med capsule ("What's that vibrant shiny green thing on your key chain?)

This product is great. I used to carry Anxiety medication with me in wallet and it would always turn to dust. I could never find an easily potable container that I could carry with me everywhere I go until now. These things are perfect for SMALL/TINY pills. I'm able to fit 2 of mine in the plastic inner container. Works great on your key ring, nicely made out of polished aluminum, durable and water tight. They were well worth the price, I put one in my lunch bag, back pack, the car and on my keys. I would defiantly recommend this item.

Antiseptic First Aid Wipes 20/Box

Antiseptic First Aid Wipes 20/BoxDuring a Columbus Day weekend camping trip I whapped the living daylights out of my forehead and nose with my Jeep tailgate. In my first aid kit I had a similar wipe made by Johnson & Johnson and it cleansed the wound beautifully without the stinging, painful agony of an alcohol wipe. I thought the wipes would be readily available in most drug stores or even at the big chain store empire wrong! Antiseptic solution of the same formulation in a bottle is readily available, but this is not very handy for camping or travel. These wipes are absolutely fabulous, are quite sizeable and have a nice long shelf life of about 5 years. I'm so glad that an Amazon retailer had them the product itself was about 1/3 the cost of the shipping, but still was a good buy. Every first aid kit should have these wipes in them.

Bolin Chest Seal

Bolin Chest SealThe Bolin Chest Seal arrived today delivered by our trusty USPS. This is not milk but I expect the product to have a relative moderate shelf life. The expiration date on the package is JUL 2012. This gives us a 60-90 day window of use, a short period of time for a specialized product of this nature. The product was folded and heavily creased. Will this impair its performance?

I expected better!

i ordered the bolin chest seal to put it in my emergency kit. now im not one to usually complain infact this is my first one ever. but i ordered it on june 14th 2012 i got at a good time june 18th 2012 i look at the experation date it is only good till july 2012 thats 2 weeks away. they need to check them before they send them out

I'm currently deployed in Afghanistan and I just received this item so I haven't actually used it yet. But hopefully there woudn't be a need for me to use this at all. Based on all the reviews and tests that I've read/seeen, in the event that I would need something to address a sucking chest wound, I'm confident that I added this to my standard issue IFAK (individual first aid kit). The oustanding crew from Grunt Gear, the company where I purchased this chest seal from, added a free Hyfin chest seal for the exit wound. I was just gonna use the Bolin chest seal's packaging to cover the exit wound, but having a readily available adhesive seal would significantly minimize the time to treat a wound and increase the chances of survival. Grunt Gear had the best price and their shipping time was top-notch, I received the item whithin 6 days, just in time for my next mission.

The Bolin chest seal (BCS) is a sterile occlusive dressing for the treatment of an open pneumothorax (sucking chest wound) It works by allowing air and fluid out of the wound, but not back in via a triple one-way valve. A sucking chest wound impairs respiration because there must be a seal between the expanding chest wall and the lung, so the chest wall can "pull" the lung open and inflate it. This is a life threatening condition that must be treated immediately. The Bolin chest seal is often compared to the Aherman chest seal, which is another occlusive dressing. In a study, both have equal survivability rates but the adhesive on the Bolin chest seal is far superior, especially in the presence of blood and soil. The report can be read here on H&H's homepage: /BCS_Performance.pdf. However, the Bolin chest seal is usually almost double the price of the Asherman. Both can save your life but I prefer the best of the best. The new Bolin chest seals (exp. 2015+) come with a larger 8"x7.5" abdominal pad instead of the smaller 4"x4" cheese cloth gauze it used to come with for better cleansing of the wound.

An EMT friend told me about these patches. He was across the street from a shooting when it happened. Unfortunately, the victim was hit 11 times in the chest and back with 22 cal rounds. Fortunately, it happened across the street from the fire department. Really fortunately, the responding unit had 12 of these chest wound patches. After a helicopter ride and a couple weeks in the hospital, the guy survived. That was drug rehab the hard way.

I regularly go to the shooting range and participate in pistol and rifle matches. I'm probably safer on the range than during the drive to it. However, if needed having some Bolin Chest Seal's in the range bag would be pretty handy. This is a nice addition to my trauma first aid kit. I hope and expect this purchase will be a complete waste of money.

3M Micropore Tape 2" x 10 yd TAN Box: 6

3M Micropore Tape 2' x 10 yd TAN Box: 6Completely blends into skin tones, much less noticeable than the white tape. My only problem or complaint with any of the Mircropore tape is that the adhesive gets much stronger as you use the roll. So hard to get off tender skin once you get about 1/2 way through a roll.

Israeli Bandage Battle Dressing, First Aid Compression Bandage

Israeli Battle Dressing, 6-inch Compression BandageI do alot of competitive shooting and I always carry this, along with quick-clot, in my range bag. After a match was finished an individual cut themselves pretty bad on a jagged piece of metal on the tear down (end up requiring 12 stitches) and I was able to use this to apply immediate pressure on the wound and stop the bleeding and get them to a hospital and I've had only basic training in applying this product. After the situation was over I bought four more and keep them at work, home, and both of our cars. Can't recommend this product enough.

The Israeli Battle Dressing (IBD) is an effective 6 inch bandage designed to control severe hemorrhaging due to a traumatic event such as from a gunshot wound or deep cut from a knife attack. I consider the IBD an integral component of my first aid kit to address bleeding and I keep two in my kit. I also recommend the use of a blood clotting agent such as QuickClot or Celox to assist with the control of a severe hemorrhage. If bleeding cannot be controlled I recommend use of the New Military Issue Combat Application Tourniquet, CAT.

Reasons why I like the Israeli Battle Dressing:

+ It can be applied one handed for self treatment for those times where you might be separated from your group or alone in the wilderness while hiking, backpacking, camping or hunting. This bandage is issued to military personnel and many in law enforcement use it as part of their kit. In situations where you are alone or when help is minutes away it is critical to effectively control severe bleeding resulting from a traumatic event. Failure to control bleeding in a timely manner can lead to hypotension, shock or even death.

+ The 70-inch long elastic portion of the bandage can also be used and improvised in the field for other purposes such as to create a sling or to wrap an injury such as a sprain. It is always nice to have multiple uses for a single piece of gear.

+ The Israeli Battle Dressing is small and will fit nicely in your first aid kit.

+ It is sterile and vacuum packaged for long term storage.

+ Instructions for use are printed on the back of the packaging. In a high stress situation it is very easy to forget what to do so it is nice that the user can refer to the instructions if they have a "blank out" moment during a crisis.

+ There are no pins, clips, Velcro or attachments that can break, get lost or fail.

I highly recommend the Israeli Battle Dressing for your first aid kit.

Buy Israeli Bandage Battle Dressing, First Aid Compression Bandage Now

Certainly an excellent addition to a first aid kit for military, police, hunters, and others who have a real risk of having to respond to traumatic injury. They work and they save lives.

I would recommend that if you intend to have these in your first aid kit, get a spare or two. If you're going to the trouble of carrying these, go to the effort of practicing with a spare and keeping the one for the kit sealed.

I used this in combat and it works well. The IBD is fast to put on and applies constant pressure to the wound. The old bandages you would have to put on a second pressure bandage to do the same thing. You do not need to be a paramedic/combat medic/EMT to apply this dressing. I would also recommend quick clot gauze. The normal quick clot is a powder that reacts to the proteins on the wound. The problem with that is if you are in a windy situation, the powder can go into the casualty's eyes and blind them. The quick clot gauze eliminates that. You have to stuff the gauze in the wound.

If you are looking at making a medical trauma bag for your home. Look at:

-Israeli Battle Dressing

-Sam Splint

-Quick clot gauze

-Battle tourniquet (Easy to apply anywhere and fast).

-IV bags and catheters (if you are trained).

-ice packs

I was taking a mirror off the back of a door 4 nights ago....crash! That mirror broke and slide down my leg. I couldn't stop the bleeding with direct pressure (I did slow it down). My wife was running around the basement looking for this bandage all the while the blood was pooling under my death grip I had on my ankle. She finally found it. That bandage stopped the bleeding within seconds. When I got to the hospital and they unwrapped that bandage I thought it was going to gush blood

everywhere, nope. It took like 15 seconds and the Doc got a good look at it and BAM!

Blood was fast and furious. This bandage is AWESOME! The Doc asked me if I wanted to keep the bandage when I was closed up? I was seriously temped to tell her YES! But, I didn't want to seem like a idiot. I just came on tonight to replace the one I just used with four more. I never post reviews, but this one is personal.
