Skin shield liquid bandages - 0.9 oz

Since I discovered Skin Shield at Walgreen's about three years ago, I have been telling people about this product. I get cracked skin on my knuckles and fingers in the winter (probably from the anti-bacterial products I use and the cold air), areas that just aren't great places for a bandage usually. I use 1-2 coats of Skin Shield on a cut. It does sting at first -it's an antiseptic, so that's a given -but it has staying power after it dries, which is in seconds. There is no lingering medicinal smell, unlike some liquid bandages. It peels away and new skin is beneath. Last year, I needed some while out and about, but the drug store I stopped at didn't sell it. I bought a competing product and wasted my money: it wore away too quickly and the smell was still there after it dried. I'm sold on Skin Shield. :)

First, this is the next best product for making a nice flexible bandage layer other than the professional ones I use in the Emergency Dept (IE, Dermabond) But, unlike the others, it hurts a lot (likely due to the alcohol solvent). When I used it on my 3 year old's cut, she screamed for 15 mins after I applied it. Then, last night that I tried it on my own small superficial cut. I thoroughly agree that with her, it was incredible painful for about 15 minutes. And, given its nature, I don't think you can really wash it off once it starts hurting. Unfortunate for such a great product. Be careful, maybe it is best for cuts after 24hrs, when they have already started to seal off and then it would not hurt too much

I managed to cut my finger one day while I was chopping some onions. I used a regular bandaid on it for the first 24hrs and couldn't get the pain or bleeding to stop and I wasn't able to do any cleaning around my house bc my bandaid kept soaking up anything around. My mom gave me Skin Shield out of her drawer at work and said she used it for paper cuts, which I thought "Yea ok this is not a paper cut."

I had my boyfriend put it on my finger and it did hurt a lot at first, it had that alcohol burn to it. After a couple of minutes I manned up and had him do a second coat which was not nearly as painful. Later on I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen and had no worries about my cut. I was even able to peel the liquid bandage off and it was fine underneath. I made sure to put rubbing alcohol on it and then reapply the skin shield and it did not hurt nearly as bad as the first time.

This stuff works better than super glue which I have had to use before. I am still able to do the work I need to without having to worry about water and other stuff in my cut! It hurts but it really does work! I will take a minute or two of pain if it means I still have a functioning extremtity!

Be cautious, if you're wanting to use this on a paper cut or basically any fresh cut, it will sting an intense amount! It does contain alcohol, so thats just a fair warning.

After a good 30 seconds of stinging, it should go away depending on the cut. I feel nothing but relief after this...

This product is a great alternative to bandaids. Unlike bandaids, there's no sticky dirty residue, there's no wrapper, it protects your cut completely from dirt, and it doesn't hurt to remove! My skin cracks on my hands in the Winter, and this provides a great cover for the cracks and protection so it doesn't get worse, and it heals too.

Freeman Freeman Facial Clay Mask Feeling Beautiful Avocado & Oatmeal

I really like this mask because

1. its really cheap

2. it gets the skin really clean

3. it doesn't dryout the skin

My husband has really oily skin and i have fairly dry skin but it still works great for both of us. He uses it almost everynight, but I only use it once a week or whenever I feel like my pores are starting to get buildup.

I also use this on my back (followed by a sand scrub) for the beach season or before wearing a low-back dress because it really makes the skin look clean/bright with a healthy glow.

So I'm going to come right out and say it, I didn't want to use this mask because I'm a die hard fan of Queen Helena Mint Julep Mask. There, now the cat is out of the bag. I decided to give Freeman a chance because my best friend is always using this mask and swears by it. I'm so happy I finally gave it a chance, I could seriously see the dirt and oil coming out of my pores when the mask was drying. It was really easy to apply and was super smooth on my skin. I let it dry for about 10-20 minutes just to make sure it picked up as much as it possibly could and used a wash cloth to take it off. The after effects were great! My skin felt smooth, refreshed, and tight. I did feel a little dry, but some face moisturizer put that to rest almost immediately. I'm not sure if I'll leave Mint julep because I love that mask but I would definitely recommend this mask:]!!

I bought this product at the store because it was one of the few clay masks offered to my surprise. When I put it on, I kind of experienced an itchy sensation on my face as the minutes progressed. I left it on for less than 10 minutes and rinsed off with warm water. Instantly, I could see and actually feel that my skin much softer. The next morning when I woke up, to my surprise, my skin looked extremely clear and well-rested. It's a great beauty tool to have, especially if you had a long day and you have that exhausted face. I would recommend this, but don't use it every day. It may irritate your skin. Every 3 days should be fine.

This is the first clay mask I've ever used, so I can't speak on comparing it to other masks on the market.

It has a nice, somewhat strong scent, and is very creamy and goes on smooth. I did have some trouble keeping it from streaking, leaving the mask a bit thicker in some areas, but overall it went on fine.

It tightens some while drying, but not uncomfortably. It burns and stings a little, nothing too bad, but I imagine more sensitive skin types wouldn't like it.

It leaves my skin feeling soft, and after using it for a few weeks, I've noticed improvement in my skin's appearance overall: less pimple breakouts, less redness. It doesn't close up pores all that much, but it's slightly noticeable.

Overall, I'd say it's a great buy for the price, but it's not a miracle-worker.

PediFix No Sore Feet Stretch Socks

I got these in preparation for my ankle surgery and thank God I did. I used them to cover up the large splint/bandage and my toes post-op and now I wear them over the hard cast. It's especially important over the cast even though it's a smooth fiberglass it gets caught on the furniture and bedding so covering with the sock eliminates that problem and keeps my toes nice and warm as well. It fits perfectly to the top of it (my cast ends a few inches below my knee). I am also using a Cast Cozy for extra warmth when I go outside or when my toes are really cold inside. Both are really needed IMO. Definitely get the XL for covering any cast or bulky bandage. That's what I have and it fits fine but I don't think a smaller size would work. They are also holding up well after 3 weeks of use and washing no holes to be found (and I take it on and off at least 2x daily to check the swelling in my toes).

These newer fiberglass casts have very rough surface.Wearing a lower leg cast has caused me to have scuffed knees and shins because I tend to cross my legs while I sleep. I've also scratched my wooden furniture and and can feel the fiberglass snag on some of the upholstered furniture. A sure solution is Pedifix Stretch socks. Size XL covered my cast just fine. I cut a 3" slit in the toe area and tucked the raw edge of the sock under the toe area so that I can keep an eye on my toes for swelling, etc. Because of the raw edge from cutting a slit in the sock in the toe area, I put the sock in a laundry bag and machine wash on gentle or permanent press with regular detergent and a bit of Chlorox then line dry (no dryer) the sock. I've not had problems with unraveling in the toe area. Works great.

The package came ahead of schedule and in a nick of time because it started to get really cold, snowy with freezing rain and these socks came in handy to keep my toes warm and dry over my CAST. I plan on buying more because it is really nasty weather up here in New England and I have to wash them often. Also these look a lot better than others posted/advertised on Amazon because some look just like a surgeons mask instead of a sock.

Boericke & Tafel Sting Stop Soothing Gel

I've used Sting Stop for approximately five years and have yet to find anything that works this well.

I get massive welts from mosquito bites and they tend to last for almost two weeks. If I put the Sting Stop on quickly, the bite will be completely gone within 24 hours. It stops the itching about 10 minutes after application as well, sometimes even faster. I use it for my children and even my elderly mother whom was recently stung by a bee on her thumb. I applied this right away and it helped her. Now she's a believer.

Within the last two weeks I was bitten by a fire ant. The inflamation was gone, once again, within 24 hours. The effectiveness of this product has held true for all members of our family three generations worth. It immediately stops the itching at any time of application after being bit, but if you also want to stop the swelling, then the sooner you can get it applied, the better.

Additionally, last summer, our 2-yr old daughter was stung by a bee. This was the only remedy I treated her with and I was really impressed with it's effectiveness. By the time I could get her into the house, calmed down, and get the stinger removed, it had already started swelling up pretty good. However, once the Sting Stop was applied, the swelling and redness went away in an hour or so, and she never again complained about the sting hurting.

I've been using sting stops on my children and myself for years. Just recently the store I was buying it from closed and I couldn't find it in any other stores. I noticed that if I apply it as soon as I notice the bite, the itching stops in a few minutes and within half an hour I can't even tell where the bite was. If it's applied hours later, it doesn't have as good an effect but it still stops the itching, it just doesn't take the inflamation away as well.

A bee decided to fly into my gardening glove while I had it off for 1 minute and when I put the glove back on, he stuck his stinger right in my forearm with quite a bit of his I-don't-like-you-touching-me venom. I suffer from Chron's disease and have used Gold Bond for years to ease the pain & itching caused by my illness & related surgeries. It's truly amazaing stuff and I have not been able to find anything like it outside the US.

When I ran out recently, I realized again that living without this product is not pleasant at all.

I will never run out again if I can help it. I don't care if it has talcum powder in it, I'll take my chances vs. literally screaming in pain, although I would not recommend it for use on babies, they make a Baby Powder version.

I have also found that it relieves the itch of mosquito bites and other minor irritations.

It seems to be the zinc oxide that makes the difference, but it can't be only that, as I have tried using zinc oxide cream & it wasn't hearly as effective.

The generic versions of this work well, too, but this is the only one I can find online.

I really like this body powder, but I especially appreciate having it within arms reach in the summer and this has been one long and sticky summer which started for me in March.

It has a nice scent of menthol; not too strong but pleasant and fresh. I use it right out of the shower with a sprinkling on an oversized powder puff. It goes on easily and does not clump. A dab too much? It is easily absorbed into the skin's top layer. It leaves my skin tingly and feeling refreshed. The best part and the reason I use it is that it goes a long way in preventing heat rashes. I have really delicate skin and used to get reddish lumps as a kid. By the time I'd get in full breakout mode I'd have nasty little red lumps on my arms and would topically apply calamine lotion to alleviate the itching and burning. Since I have been using this I haven't had any problems with rashes. The added bonus is that it leaves my skin smooth and dry.

This is maybe a bit more expensive than most of the body powders out there, but it is worth the extra cost because it works and is extremely pleasant to use. I may be sweating on the inside, but you'd never know it on the outside. I can't put a price on the confidence using this gives me.
