Dynarex Povidone Iodine Prep Solution

Dynarex Povidone Iodine Prep SolutionDynarex Provione-Iodine (PVP-I) Prep Solution (Betadine)

I bought this item for wound care. After some surgery, my physician suggested that I purchase some Betadine. This is an antiseptic solution used to help prevent infections. Used for minor wounds, burns, lacerations and infections. May be covered with gauze or adhesive bandage. Active ingredient is 10% povidone-iodine.

I used this as a wash around the surgical wound and it healed extraordinarily fast. I used it twice daily and I was happy the wound healed well. This solution is an iodine like solution and it will stain a wash cloth or clothes that are in contact with the solution, but it can be washed out with a solution of Borax. After bathing the area I washed the solution from the area of skin.

PVP-I is completely soluble in cold water, ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, and glycerol. Its stability in solution is much greater than that of tincture of iodine or Lugol's solution.

Free iodine, slowly liberated from the poviodine-iodine (PVP-I) complex in solution, kills eukaryotic or prokaryotic cells through iodination of lipids and oxidation of cytoplasmic and membrane compounds. This agent exhibits a broad range of microbicidal activity against bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and viruses. Slow release of iodine from the PVPI complex in solution minimizes iodine toxicity towards mammalian cells.

There is a caveat: Since this is an iodine solution an there are allergies to iodine when used on the skin. I would test this solution on a small area before you use it on a large surface area. Otherwise, this is an allpurpose topical antiseptic solution that is used for all kinds of skin antisepsis.

I think the product and value are excellent. However, they shipped it in an envelope with no protection what so ever. The bottle suffered trauma to the cap and cracked it. Perhaps include a cardboard helmet of sorts for the cap during shipping? Since I lost half the cap, the bottle doesn't seal so I cannot transport it if I need and I'm sure the shelf life has been cut to a fraction of what it would have been otherwise.

Arrived in time for my post-op wound care. Very good price. More than I needed. Threw out most of it because I healed up quick.

Essential Medical Supply Free Spirit Knee and Leg Walker

Essential Medical Supply Free Spirit Knee and Leg WalkerI have rented one of these for $120 per month. I have a foot injury which just won't seem to heal. I tried using crutches and they're so hard on the rest of your body. This device puts a little stress on the good foot, but nothing like crutches, and very little strain on your upper body. It has sturdy, wide wheels that roll very smoothly. The rear wheels being placed close together leaves space for the foot that you are propelling yourself with. The front wheels turn pretty sharply, but due to the length of the unit, the overall turning radius is still pretty big. The front tiller folds down for transport, although it doesn't lock in place in the folded position, so it can flop around when you try to pick it up to stow it in the car. The mechanism to lock/unlock the tiller in the upright position is a little cumbersome, but workable. When I got the unit, the tiller was unstable when I leaned on it, but I was able to tighten various joints to eliminate this problem. In addition to resting your knee on the pad to move about you can sit on it to do tasks. The brakes are pretty effective and the unit feels quite stable, so I have no fear of gliding down a long decline. It's possible to go up or down a short step, but a little tricky. The unit is very solidly built, with heavy duty welds at all major joints. It is also a little heavy for getting in and out of the car.

I'm writing this first of my Amazon reviews because I am a huge fan of this product. I had ankle surgery four weeks ago. For the first week and a half I had too much pain to lower my leg and return to the world. Once the pain was gone, remembering life on crutches from earlier broken bones, etc., I dreaded making my way around. My doctor recommended a knee walker, and Mayo Clinic rented me one of these. Amazing. I scoot down the halls where I work, through grocery stores, anywhere with a smooth surface, even sidewalks outside. Not much effort to it, and it's no trick to balance. I did test drive another at a clinic where I live--a kneebop, I believe, and found it much less substantial and stable that the Essential Medical. If you're interested in having a knee walker, this is the one for you. My only complaint is that when you take the brakes off lock they spring up hard. One whack and next time you'll keep your fingers out of the way.

I purchased this for use after my foot surgery. I am not strong enough for crutches, and due to an old back injury I can't hop with a walker. The knee walker is perfect. I lock the wheels and use its handle bars to help me stand from a sitting position. When sitting in a chair, I can use it to elevate my foot. It easily supports my weight (>200lb) and clears the smallest doors in my house. It took a little practice, but I can now maneuver in the smallest places.

I was THRILLED to pick up my Free Spirit Knee and Leg walker today, after spending a week on crutches following Achilles tendon surgery. This device has given me a huge boost emotionally as well as practically. First of all, it's easy to navigate, and I haven't had any problems with balance or the ability to move it easily. It's compact, and rolls very smoothly and feels stable. The knee cushion is especially comfortable. The little bag in front is handy and holds even a tall cup pretty well (it's been very constraining not to even be able to get from the kitchen to the sofa with a drink you'll still need a cap on that drink though). It's narrow enough to go through smaller doorways easily, but wide enough to make me feel stable as I use it. I used it to run into Walmart for just a couple of things, and it was a breeze to use, though of course I couldn't carry much up to the checkout. The brakes work well, and you can lock them and even sit down on the little seat if you need to give your knee a break. One note though this device requires a lot less strength to use than crutches, you will still have to use your "good leg" pretty extensively. Also, the scooter is not super-light if you are weak, you may not be able to easily get it into a vehicle by yourself. I personally didn't have a real hard time leaning on the car to get to the back door and pull the scooter out, but it was a little tricky. If you have any issues with balance, you may still want to use your crutches while you're getting the scooter out of the vehicle. Also, you will have to plan your trips to use EITHER the scooter or the crutches, because you sure can't carry crutches while scooting on this thing, and it definitely will not work if you have to go up any steps. Overall, though, this little device is a real life-improver in my opinion, and I am very glad I shelled out the money for it. It's given me a level of independence that I didn't have before, and lessened both my frustration, as well as my husband's!

One note I called all over town trying to find one of these in stock somewhere, and local medical suppliers (and even my doctor) acted like they had never seen one, like this was some sort of novel, weird idea. One supplier did tell me he had stocked one at one time, but that he felt like it was dangerous, so he didn't re order it when it sold. After using this product, I don't know what he's talking about. I'll tell you what's dangerous CRUTCHES. I struggle MUCH more with balance and the fear of falling on crutches than I do using this product. I love it.

This is a really good product. The description says it fits 5'4" but I am only 5'0" and it fits me with the knee pad in the lowest position. It is sturdy and well built. I have found that I need to release the brakes by pulling up on the bottom of the loop instead of the top so I don't snap my fingers. It is actually pretty fun to use!

AAA 53 Piece Tune Up First Aid Kit

AAA 53 Piece Tune Up First Aid KitSo I bought this to keep in the glove box of my car; what you see is what you get, rather basic and cheap. I have a full first aid trauma kit that I take when I go on outings (hiking, camping, climbing, et cetera) but wanted something (cheap) to keep in my car just in case. If you purchase this I recommend you purchase a box of quality (assorted) band-aids (knock offs are usually sub par) to replace the ones in the kit because, to be frank, they are crap. Other than the cheaper quality pieces the kit is great and covers a wide variety of possible injuries (even includes gloves which are very handy when blood is involved) at a very low cost. The case itself is great, it's a semi-hard case (so it has a permanent shape but is not a plastic) and is built to be tossed around and take a beating with ease. It also is a good color (red) and stands out which is always a plus in emergency situations. All in all it is a great basic kit that will be perfect if you just want something to toss in your car, boat, rv, sending along with your child to college (kids do stupid things and they should be able to treat minor injuries with the absence of parental supervision) or anything else and not have to think about until you need it.

Just be sure to restock it as you use up the items in it!

The kit was great. It had enough of everything to be really universal. My only complaint is the clip for the belt loop, they do not stay on the zipper very well.

Outside of that it was what we needed.

Almost complete. Once I added neosporin, the first aid kit was complete. There is a little room for on additional item.

Grafco 6 1/2" Deluxe Finger Ring Cutter, 1/Ea, GHF1372-1

Grafco 6 1/2' Deluxe Finger Ring Cutter, 1/Ea, GHF1372-1I had recently ordered the above product based on the type of ring cutter shown in the picture. Believing that this is what I would receive. I have had problems with other types of ring cutters before and I find the plier type to be most effective and more comfortable for me and the patient. This is not what I received; I received a CHEEZY CHINCY version of a ring cutter more like the standard type with the thumb button to apply pressure. Also the blade was busted and flat spotted. I immediately contacted the seller (JEWELDENT) who was less than helpful, who (without any apology or concern) just told me nothing more than to return the product to AMAZON for a refund instead of attempting to take care of the product themselves. Bad customer service on their part. I am never using (JEWELDENT) as a supplier again due to their lack of concern about their faulty and fraudulent product. Thanks for reading and have a great day.

The standard ring cutter leaves my thumb extremely painful by the time I'm finished. This one is great. I'll never go back to the old kind.

Dr. Sheffield Triple Antibiotic Ointment

Dr. Sheffield Triple Antibiotic OintmentI used Dr. Sheffield's Triple Antibiotic Ointment for my cat's scratch on his face and it cleared up and a matter of no time.

Thanks for the quick healing!

The product is good. It works. The problem is that the tube Is less than half full. It was priced a $.62/ tube which appears to be a bargain. But you're not getting a full tube. Plus the shipping and handling was almost 3 times the cost of the tubes I purchased. This is nothing short of a misrepresentation and a ripoff. Shame on Amazon for selling this.

Ordered these for a Day camp for Cub Scouts age 8-11. The camp is all about bugs and we thought the tweezers would help the boys that were afraid to actually touch bugs. I was overjoyed at the price and through Prime had my box in 2 days with no shipping cost. The box only contained one pack of 12 tweezers instead of the 5 advertised. I immediately called and had to leave a message. After 5 days and 3 messages I decided to order from another company, afraid I would not get the tweezers in time for camp. I finally received a call back with apologies and assurance that my additional items would be delivered that day and they were. I was told the shipping clerk made a mistake and was told to email me so I would know the rest were being shipped. I am happy with the purchase but unhappy with the customer service that appeared to be nonexistent until day 5 and my increasingly frantic calls.

It is obvious that the person who wrote the directions is not to familiar with writting in english (not that there is anything wrong with that) I couldn't make heads or tails with figuring out what to do. However I did get the alarm to work but could do little else. Secondly, I had to hold the timer up to my ear to hear it. I'm sorry I have to send it back.

Band-Aid(R) Brand Water Block Plus(R) Finger-Care™ Bandages, Assorted, Box Of 20

Band-Aid(R) Brand Water Block Plus(R) Finger-Careā„¢ Bandages, Assorted, Box Of 20As a glass artist, I cut my fingers pretty frequently, and usually on knuckles or the tip of my finger. I recently had a cut on my thumb, and needed a fingertip bandage.

I've pretty much stopped buying Band-Aid brand, and feel that Nexcare's active foam bandages stay on much better and protect against water. But I haven't found a finger-tip version of their bandages, and Walgreens doesn't stock Nexcare band-aid style bandages.

And these are "Water Block?" No way. If you so much as get your finger a tiny bit wet, the bandage falls right off!! And I'm not talking about being in the pool like the other reviewer!

So I bought these, and I was really disappointed! It says that they're "woven", but they are NOT fabric. I know Band-Aid likes to tout their "unique design," and the knuckle bandage is okay, but the fingertip bandage is awful. When you wrap it around your finger, there's always a part sticking out that's not stuck to your finger (there are actually instructions on the back of the box, but it still doesn't work!). The DO stick well to your fingernail, but simply don't stick to skin.

Secondly, they simply don't stick. If you're going to put it on your finger and sit on the couch and watch TV all day, they might be fine. But if you're active at all, or work with your hands, these won't work for you.

Perhaps if these were the fabric kind, they might flex better. But the plastic they're using doesn't stretch, so instead of flexing, it pulls away from your skin. But I really don't like the fabric bandaids because they get dirty and look awful. I'm kinda disappointed in Band-Aid brand's quality lately. It's sorta like as the leader of the pack, they're resting on their laurels and not coming up with better products. 3M definitely makes a better product, but I think people are fairly unaware that there's something better out there!

I feel bad leaving this review, but this is a terrible product!

A friend told me about these band aids, I could not find them locally. Ordered from Amazon. These fit perfect on fingers and knuckles. Just what a gal needs who works in the yard all the time.

Disposable EARLOOP Face MASK PVC concealed nose piece minimizes x-ray reflection 4 Fold - (Box of 5

Disposable EARLOOP Face MASK PVC concealed nose piece minimizes x-ray reflection 4 Fold -Update May 17, 2013: Since I wrote my original review, I've come to find out that I do have some problem with fogging of my glasses in cold weather, but it hasn't been a major issue. Also, these masks do not absolutely protect against dust/allergens; the conical (cone) type masks do perform better, I think. But, I still like these masks for their fit and comfort and sometimes double up when I'm dusting/cleaning and that helps greatly. Still recommend this brand.

Original Review:

These masks are very well made. The nosepiece is actually inside the mask material, so it cannot come loose and potentially be a hazard to the eyes. I had to get used to the mask touching my nose and mouth, but with a little adjustment, it doesn't do that all the time and if it does, I've grown use to it already.

These masks seem to protect well from dust but some scents do come through, not enough to bother me, like when I'm not wearing a mask.

Overall, I prefer this type of mask to the usual cone shape mask like you can get at the dollar stores. The earloops are much more comfortable and most importantly, I can wear a mask and my glasses while driving without my glasses fogging up. That's especially significant during the hot weather months as my car's air conditioning doesn't work well right now and we have to keep the windows open.

I thought ragweed season was especially rough in 2010, but this spring has been extra rough too. If I went outside without a mask, my nose would itch terribly and if outside too long, the inevitable allergic reactions would occur.

This is the best mask I've found so far for protection, comfort, and ability to wear glasses without fogging up.

I need respiratory protection at times but also have a skin condition called rosacea. This mask is light weight, better for my skin than a large

heavily built respirator.

EYE PATCH FLAT CLOTH BLACK 1 EACH

EYE PATCH FLAT CLOTH BLACK 1 EACHI have Bells palsy and needed an eye patch to protect my right eye...I would have been better off buying one from the Halloween store. This thing is basically a piece of cardboard attached to a rubber band. It rubs on your eye so unless you literally have no eye in your socket, this would not work for you. I do not recommend.

It's hard to find a truly flat eye patch that fits well under an eyeglass lens. This one does. Very comfortable, and the elastic band lasts for many months before breaking. If you need an eye patch that fits under your glasses, this is it.

Buy EYE PATCH FLAT CLOTH BLACK 1 EACH Now

This is a decent product, if not for the price, I'd rate it 4 stars. Personally, I think the cost for the material used (plus the shipping) was a little much. I suppose I might be spoiled at all of the cheap goods we get made by (underpaid, almost slave) foreign labor.

The band is VERY thin and is not as well-made as the bands found on the concave patches.

CPR Prompt (1 Pack) BLUE Single Adult/Child Manikin w/10 Lung Bags & Tool - LF06001U

CPR Prompt BLUE Single Adult/Child Manikin w/10 Lung Bags & Tool - LF06001UOur hospital uses the CPR Prompt manikin for its very busy American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers training program. The manikin is quite durable and easy to maintain.

The amount of force needed to activate the chest compression clicker seems to vary a bit from manikin to manikin (despite all being at the same setting). That's only a minor problem, however.

The entire head is hard plastic, which means the nose is not pinchable.

This manikin is fine for mouth-to-mouth or mouth-to-mask ventilation (including head tilt-chin lift). However, it's not possible to hold a mask onto the face for bag-valve-mask ventilation. There's just not enough of a mandible to properly apply the E-C clamp technique. This presents a significant problem for a CPR course for healthcare providers.

Bottom line: If your target audience is limited to laypersons then this is a decent choice. If your target audience includes healthcare professionals then you would be advised to look elsewhere.

These race neutral mannequins are much easier to transport and keep clean than the more expensive Laerdahl models typically used by the red cross.
