I would give it five stars except three things:1) I agree with the gentleman who said that the difference between 15 and 50, 13 and 30, etc. is nonexistent.
2) The second is that I found it very difficult to press the button for the dates.
3) The third is that it totally died after a bit over a year and a half. I thought it was just a battery thing, but a new battery to not help. But I love this watch! I bought a replacement that I HATED
tsame brand), so I have since ordered a replacement of this model . It is great, particularly for those like me who are legally blind.Bought this talking atomic watch for my mom who is legally blind and she LOVES it---can't live without it. It comes already preset which is great. Whether through the night or just anytime during the day, she knows the day, date, time at the press of a button---no vision required. She is absolutely lost without it. Great product. Could be a little more stylish, but as for function---it can't be beat.My father was not enthusiastic about getting a "talking" watch, but he loves it. The numbers are large enough he can see them, and he has no trouble understanding the voice.
Zefal Woven Cloth Tape Black 22mm
I am not, however, a fan of using electrical tape to finish taping handlebars. It does NOT stay put. It either unwraps, or slides around. Either way, you end up having to push it back on or rewrap it, and you also end up with the sticky adhesive on your fingers, your bar and your bar tape. Since a better option exists, it is beyond me why bike shops continue to use electrical tape to complete the bar tape job, or why bar tape manufactures continue to include the equivalent of vinyl electrical tape (with a painted logo) with their bar tape. Note that I am NOT including home users who do maybe one or two bar wraps a year at most.
I happened upon this use by accident. After being FED UP with sticky crap on my fingers from electrical tape constantly coming loose, I was actually going to start using DUCT TAPE. Yup, I was going to rely upon repair item #1 (or is it #2 behind vice grips, and WD40 is in there somewhere too I know), but anyway...
I use this tape to complete my bar tape jobs and so should bike shops. It stays in place. Heat doesn't cause it to unwrap like electrical tape does. When you put it on, it stays. No rewrapping, no checking. Just tape and forget. It is also just sticky enough. It sticks fine. If you need to remove some or all of it and redo a job, it's fine. It's adhesive is not left on the thing it stuck to, it stays on the bottom of the tape where it belongs. No sticky ooze spreading about.
Bike shops and bar tape manufactures surely know this stuff exists. It is used to wrap bars in place of cushier forms of bar tape. Instead of wrapping the whole bar in this, just use it to complete the job. Instead of doing two turns of electric tape, do two turns of this. It's prettier, cleaner, and long lasting. Bar tape manufacturers could include two small strips of a color matched cloth tape rather than the pseudo electrical tape they include. I guess it all comes down to cost and logos. It would be hard to put a logo on this stuff, maybe that's why logo imprinted electrical tape is included with bar tape.
Home users: If you rarely do a bar taping job, it makes perfect sense to use what you already have around the house. I would never advocate buying this tape to complete one bar wrap. It's a waste. If you did want to consider purchasing a roll, I'd purchase the black since that will go with most bar tape you'll use.
And if any roadies want to weigh in and say that they've never had a problem with electrical tape on their bars I want to say up front that I am glad you haven't. I have. This has happened on bars I've wrapped, and bars I received wrapped. It's plenty hot and humid in Florida and I have yet to have a bar done with electrical tape (or manufacture supplied logo tape) NOT unwrap. I'd love to think that I'm riding faster than the physical properties of electrical tape can withstand, but that would only be dreaming.
I just found out that Brooks includes this type of tape with their leather wrap. This handlebar tape lays out well as it is wrapped around the handlebars. It has good adheson. On the bars, it swears well. I would purchase it again, no hesitationBought these to tape the butt end of my goalie sticks. Thank god I bought two because there is only enough tape to tape 1 stick! Quality and look is great but this is about the smallest roll of tape Ive ever seen.
Tender Ben's 100 Max Pump Spray, 1.25 Ounce Bottle (Pack of 3)
Ben's 100 Max Formula Tick & Insect Repellent contains 98.11% DEET. It's oily and smelly, but the smell is not overwhelming. I have used this while birding in wetlands that were so mosquito-ridden that the locals have resorted to spraying the area from helicopters in the past. I sprayed the Ben's 100 on my clothes and socks. The bugs did not go up my pant legs. I didn't get any bites. I spray it on the edges of my towel at the swimming pool, since my neighborhood has been invaded by Asian Tiger mosquitoes that like dry, sunny climates as well as swamps. It averts that unpleasant experience of coming home from the pool to find myself covered with mosquito bites.
DEET is a solvent, so don't spray Ben's 100 on synthetic fabrics or leather. It may damage the fabric. Cotton and cotton blends hold up well. I wouldn't spray it on fine fabrics, but it hasn't harmed my sporting clothes, and the oiliness does come out in the wash. The label claims that one application of Ben's 100 is good for 10 hours of protection. The common wisdom is that concentrations of DEET higher than 30% are not more effective but last longer. A formula with 30% DEET would last 5-8 hours, depending upon if it's alcohol or water-based.
As for its toxicity, sensitivity to neurotoxins varies widely, and more serious adverse reactions have been reported in children than adults. In a study conducted by the military, 46% of subjects had adverse skin reactions when a gauze patch containing DEET was applied to their skin. This is why the instructions say not to apply Ben's 100 underneath of clothing. Heed that warning. Don't trap it against your skin. Wash it off before going to bed, so that any DEET remaining on your skin will not be covered by the bedlinens. That is what initially caused the adverse reactions in the military, prompting them to conduct a study. Soldiers got skin lesions in their sleep.I travel to warm water destinations several times a year. One of the little know problems in tropical climates are what I call sand fleas. Sand fleas are virtually invisible, but are numerous and will literally eat you alive in a few minutes. The result are these little red bumps all over exposed parts of your legs, arms, neck and any other uncovered body part. Tender Ben's 100 Max is the only repellant that works. Nothing better than 100% DEET. Don't believe those who promote skin so soft products, they are not effective agaist aggressive insects. Deep woods off is partially effective, but you will still get bit.

I thought the features of this product would make it superior. For examplethe Gel for comfort and the design of the front cover to provide stability. I found it was very easy to slide off sideways because the front cover height is so high and the Gel covering material is a low friction type. I tightened the straps as much as possible but the problem remained. I ended up using my old foam knee pads again. I still think these ProFlex knee pads could be a great product with a small amount of re-engineering.Want ProFlex 347 Long Cap Honeycomb Gel Knee Pad, Black (2 pads per pack) Discount?
I was about to give a 5 star rating for these knee pads, recommended it for my friends, but after 1 month using it, the gel moved and there is no protection at all. I install wood flooring and spent 8 hours per day on my knees, I bought these based on the good reviews, and I wish it had a good durability, unfortunately after just 1 month using it, I'm looking for a new pair of knee pads.3M Medipore Soft Cloth Surgical Tape - 4" wide

My husband has an allergy to regular adhesive tape so all of Medipore's paper tapes are fantastic for anyone with sensitive skin. It will not rip into skin when removed, yet holds very well. This larger size has perforated sheets that tear off easily making the piece about 4" x 2". This helped me hold down dressing on his foot where the skin is tender and fragile from all the surgeries. This seems expensive but the roll lasts a long time and the product is a life saver for protecting sensitive skin.

Splinter Out, 10/Pack, 2 Packs
If you've tried to remove a splinter with tweezers, the wide ends can damage your nearby skin if you try too hard. This item is like a needle but much easier to hold. You can pick out the splinter then put some antiseptic on. You can also pop zits without damaging your skin around the puncture site so you can apply antiseptic for them to heal. Only if you have a very steady hand, you can use these scrape off styes on your eyelids before washing the eyes with saline solution or eye drops to remove the built up infected eye gland fluid that leaks out once you scrape off the stye.
These splinter removers come packaged individually in sterile paper. At home you can probably keep one for a while after opening if you immediately rinse off after use in very hot water and use some antiseptic on the pointy end so you don't transfer germs between uses, and store in your medicine cabinet. They can be expensive, up to $1.70 each. I found one place, BP med on amazon that sells 10 packs for $5 in a cute plastic box, and ships fast. THen you can keep one pack in your car, one at home.
After you've removed the splinter or popped your zit, Bactine (benzalkonium chloride) or Campho-phenique (camphor and phenol) seem to be the best antiseptics that seem to kill even antibiotic resistant bacteria. Ammonium iodide is reasonably good also, and iodine is an element your body needs. Wait a little while then put nu-skin (liquid polymer bandage, available widely) or benzoin tincture / compound (USP) (available widely at drug stores) on.
Bacteria that produce alot of fluid tend to leak thru nu-skin after a while so re-apply 8+ hours apart. They seem to be less able to breach the benzoin mono-layer on the skin but you do need to reapply on top of it for larger wounds till a solid layer is achieved without skin fluid leaking through. After healing you can use a stiff nail brush soaked under very hot water to softly scrub off the benzoin. The nu-skin will flake off by itself. If it grows deeply into a wound while healing may take longer, don't pull it off, is an integral part of your skin temporarily.
Both bandage products form a layer where your body can grow cells underneath to heal. The benzoin is an old remedy that is also slightly fragrant, and, while an awful dark brown color, will help heal hard to heal wounds, as bacteria have problems growing through or near it. Don't pull off too early or you may pull off healing skin.
If your skin is turning brown around the edges of a wound, it may be useful to use the square edge of the 'splinter out' metal strip or use sharp point to debride small parts of dead tissue down to a pink base so you can apply antiseptic, and bandages. The campho-phenique antiseptic will kill the bacteria in the dead brown edges around a skin wound and harden the wound so it heals well, an alternative to the liquid bandages or regular bandages.
If the wound is slightly larger, you can cover with a plastic bandage strip. Put a very thin layer of triple-antibiotic on the gauze pad so it breathes but will tend to kill bacteria and keep out dirt. Look for pink streaks away from the wound. If these show up, keep treating or get medical assistance, esp if wounds spread or degrade. If the area is raised slightly, may still be infected / inflamed, keep treating. Don't confuse the white color of new cell growth under the liquid bandage with white blood cells. If white blood cells keep treating with antiseptics but leave alone if healing with new cells.

I manage a swim and tennis club and these are the best for getting out the many splinters that kids get there. I highly recommend them especially for public places since they are each individually wrapped and you don't have to worry about breaking someone's skin with something that has been used before!I'm a woodworker and am always getting splinters. A friend introduced me to these and I've found them invaluable. So much better than a needle.worked in a machine shop for years and was ALWAYS getting metal splinters in my fingers! Used to use a sewing needle till the 1st Aid box got these; work wonders in digging out a sliver of metal or wood. Now that I no longer have access to that box I decided to buy myself some for home/ shop use.Thermoscan Exactemp Ear
What we like:
1. When baby is screaming, the light blinks and then goes solid when temp is done, great when you can't hear the beep.
2. It truly does take a second unless baby is thrashing about.
3. Produces a long beep when you are taking your own temperature, no guesswork about when it's finished which is an improvement over earlier models.
What we don't like:
1. Preemies have TINY ear holes. So we have had to wait till our baby's ear was big enough to be able to use this thing.
2. The lens covers are a pain to switch out and keep on hand, it would be nice if there were a way to just sanitize the lens after each use.
3. We see a discrepancy of almost one degree between the left and right ear which makes us question the accuracy somewhat. The enclosed brochure explains various causes of this, but that doesn't help when trying to determine what exactly your baby's temperature is.
We have done both the axial and ear temp and found that the right ear on our baby corresponds with the digital thermometer's reading on her armpit. However, the enclosed chart shows the variances between oral, rectal, axial, and ear temperatures which make it somewhat confusing. So we alternate between the digital and the ear thermometer just to be sure.
I personally WOULD recommend this thermometer for older babies and kids, just be sure that you test it out when kids are healthy to figure out your baseline and what is normal. It takes some investigation to develop your method based on what your needs are, but it is a nice, quick to use product and my family LOVES using it for adult temperature readings. We think we will be happier with it when baby is bigger and we are using it for sick readings only.

I purchased this thermometer based on recommendations from two friends. I had difficulty taking the temps of my six month old by myself as you have to pull their ear slighly up and back in order to take an accurate temp. I had to try it several times with the help of my husband to get the hang of it. I like how a beeping sound is made once the temp has been recorded. It also has a memory feature have not used yet. One more thing ~ I accidently dropped it in the kitchen sink (in a bowl of soapy water). I picked it up quickly and set it on the counter. After two days, it had dried out and is working normally again.Read Best Reviews of Thermoscan Exactemp Ear Here
I liked this item at first. Then the readings began to vary wildly, so much so that I would measure my child temperature three times and average them because each reading could vary by up to three degrees. Then it stopped working altogether. Today, it only reads "POS" instead of displaying a temperature.Since this thing is now bound for the landfill, I think Braun could improve the next model by making it biodegradable.
BTW, Brian Carey, who also reviews this, has his review posted about 300 times on multiple sites on the internet. Could he someone that is paid for reviews or is he really that passionate about Braun digital thermometers?!

My wife purchased this digital thermometer after pouring herself over hours of research and reading. Being an audiophile and a Registered Nurse, she's one of those people that reads the manual on everything first, never makes an impulse purchase and often times calls the company directly via the phone numbers listed on the packaging (which she usually copies down in the store).I had purchased a different thermometer for her as birthday present, but that's a whole other story. Needless to say the Braun Thermoscan Thermometer was her preferred choice. The reasons are thus:
1.The readings this device give are the most accurate for any ear thermometer on the market at any price. This should be the most important reason all the time.
2.The sterile caps are a necessity and even if you're only using the device on one child you should do everything in your power to cut down on ear infections.
3.The reading it takes occurs very quickly.
4.The beep is more for me than it is for her, which she thinks is a must. Removing the device early is a common mistake.
5.The 'ease of use' makes taking an ear reading a simple matter. Easier than oral, rectal or armpit and a world of difference over the newer Temporal Thermometers.
6.The storage of 1000 readings which is a blessing when you have to look back at the data, and some of us do.
My son likes this thing so much he quickly figured out how to stick it in his own ear a few times and press the button and wait for the beep, which caused my wife to scowl and panic, but of course I just thought my son was gifted like all foolish parents out there.
The cost of the small plastic filters is incredibly minimal as is the actual cost of the device itself. Sure, you can go to Target or Wal-Maze and buy yourself another cheapie, but then you'll be back exactly where you are now sometime later ... looking for a dependable and accurate ear Thermometer.
This is currently the best.
