IODIDES TINCTURE ***HUM Size: 2 OZ

IODIDES TINCTURE ***HUM Size: 2 OZMy wife asked me to order this for her, and I typed in the name of what she wanted: iodides tincture decolorized. The picture that came up for the product is what she wanted. However, what I received is colored ioDINE. Now I have to pay to ship it back, and if previous reviews are correct, pay a 10% restocking fee. How about if I charge a 20% "aggravation because you sent me the wrong stuff" fee?

This is DECOLORIZED iodine that contains ammonium. I would not but it if I knew it, but misleading description made me think that I ordered regular red iodine there was no mentioning at all that it's DECOLORIZED, no list of ingredients, and the picture was way too small to read the label on the bottle.

So I had unpleasant surprise when I got this product. I returned it back which means I lost my money on shipping (in both ways), plus their refund was partial as they had 10% restocking fee (surprise again). Just wasting money for nothing, very negative customer experience.

OneTouch Ultra Blue Test Strips

One touch Ultra Blue 50 CountThe 100 strips that I received had an expiration date of July/2009 which means this purchase was a waste of money. I was upset and disappointed.

There's always a catch on buying discounted items. Based from my actual experience, the expiration date is less that 3-4 months. This is not publish during the ordering process. Good if you will be using this product at least once or twice a day so that you can consume it within 1-2 month period.

Buy OneTouch Ultra Blue Test Strips Now

First of all, One Touch Ultra test strips are an awesome product. The one star rating is for Bargin OTC and their lack of customer service. BUYER BEWARE!

I attempted to buy this product from Bargain OTC, but they completely canceled my order with out any reason given. When I inquired and respectfully stated my dissatisfaction for the situation and threatened to never do business with them again, the "president", Bryson Burkholder, replied with a nasty e-mail. He called me "slanderous" and accused me of "trying to capitalize on and not someone who was trying to establish a long term business relationship." I was attempting to buy their product... How else do you establish business relationships?

He also said, "People like you who threaten small businesses is why our country and economy are in such peril today."

So, if you don't want your orders randomly cancelled without explanation, or want to be accused of the country's problems... Don't buy from Bargain OTC. They obviously don't believe in the saying, "The customer is always right!"

We received the item in what looked like damaged shipping: a strip had already loosened its way out and fell out even before we opened the Amazon shipping packaging. The box it came in looked frayed and old. The expiry of the product was for April 2010, and the ones you get in the store right now are for April 2011 or later.

Thankfully the return process at Amazon was smooth enough. We ended up buying this product in the store, since the expiry date is a concern.

Prince Of Peace Kwan Loong Oil

Prince of Peace Kwan Loong Oil 2 oz.My mother was from Hong Kong and used Kwan Loong Oil for her aches and pains for as long as I can remember. I started using Kwan Loong Oil after I was in an accident and had severe headaches and neckahes (about 30 years ago). It worked to relieve the pain. My husband had a bad knee and I had him put some Kwan Loong Oil on it and he swears by it as well. Whenever he has tweeked his back, he puts the oil on and it makes the pain better. We have since shared this wonder oil with our friends when they have complained of various aches and pains and they are amazed on how it works. I am so glad we found it here at Amazon because the store we use to buy it at has gone out of business and we were not sure where we were going to be able to get it. It really works not just for pain but also for congestion, you can rub it on your chest just like you would Vicks or dab a little under you nose. It aborbs quickly and lasts for a long time.

i have been using the kwan loong oil for almost two years-i began it when i treated with an accupuncturist for severe knee pain. after about a year, i was unable to continue the accupuncture therapy due to finances[not covered by bc/bs!] but did continue with the oil twice and sometimes three times daily. it has continued to help with the pain management even with no needles. i swear by this product-plus it smells wonderful-not medicinal.

This oil is like a miracle worker. I apply it before bedtime when my muscles are aching and wake up in the morning feeling a whole lot better, especially being a person with neck and back issues!

I've tried a lot of topical analgesics for my arthritis issues. This one works better than most of them.

The main active ingredients are methyl salicylate which is wintergreen oil and menthol which is generally peppermint oil. So it smells very minty, but a clean mint scent instead of a medicinal one.

It works fairly well to relive pain, including muscle pains. My only problem with it is that it's not very long lasting and that it does smell very minty. I get about an hour relief using this. For the arthritis in my back, I'm happier with pepper based topical analgesics, but this works very well on stiff muscles and on the arthritis in my knees. Also it didn't make me itch, which is a problem I've had with things like Icy Hot.

First a little about me; I have been dealing with migraines since I was a teen but it was not until my later adult years that I found products (other than prescriptions) that make a difference with my episodes

The first I found by accident was "White Flower Oil". The second oil, Po Sum On I found as a result of needing an alternative just in case the first oil was not available. The third oil is KWAN LOONG and was found after years of using the other two and prices were on the rise. As always I'm looking for my backup.

I am quite pleased with this product and the price but please keep in mind that even though all three serve the same basic purpose for me and that's pain relief, there subtle differences between the three to make it worth while to have them all on hand and I never let myself run out.

By the way, try a few drops of KWAN LOONG in the bathtub or in your foot soak. A perfect end to a long

day. I also use this oil on my neck and upper back to help me go to sleep & also ease my hotflashes.

Maybelline Shine Free Oil Control Pressed Powder 1 ea

Maybelline Shine Free Oil Control Pressed Powder, Soft Cameo - 1 eaI've been using this stuff for years. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT ! It sets my foundation great.. & is even great without foundation & still has great coverage! I also use it for touch ups.. A LOT! It lasts quite awhile & doesn't feel heavy or cakey at all. I definitely recommend for someone who is looking for something that is JUST as good as high end powders! The only downside is the powder puff it comes with falls apart VERY easily. I bought my last compact just 3 weeks ago & its completely falling apart! But it's an easy fix because I just use my blush brush to apply it for touch ups. Just wish it came with a better quality puff. It's worth it though for the LOW PRICE! I just recommend tossing the puff & buying a better quality one that can be washed over & over or simply by using a powder/blush brush. Other than that I love this stuff!!

I am pleased with this purchase because it's easy to buy and to use. It may not be the most expensive powder, but it does the job.

Dynarex 12 Triangular Bandage 40x40x56, 12 Count

Dynarex 12 Triangular Bandage 40x40x56, 12 CountThis product is an EXCELLENT value. You get 12 (yes TWELVE) full sized triangular bandages, for price of two traditional triangular bandages. They are individually packed in little zip seal bags with 2 safety pins per bandage.

BUT, know these are rather flimsy and of an open weave that is NOT near the quality and durability of a std. triang. bandage.

This is NOT a good product for extend wear as a arm sling!!! It will not hold up to much wear and open weave would have it getting snagged on just about everything.

That said, these are quite satisfactory for both immediate, short term critical care and for training purposes. In the training role, they can be easily washed, refolded and repacked in the individual bags quite easily.

As a retired Navy Corpsman I would not hesitate a bit to use these for holding sterile bandage (these are NOT sterile themselves) to head or torso where adhesive tape is not a good option especially if some pressure for control of bleeding is concerned. They also work well for immobilizing separated / sprained elbow or shoulder and sprained / broken ankle. They are also very satisfactory for SHORT term use as arm sling if treatment in medical facility is going to be available in a few hours. I have tested them also on immobilizing lower leg and arm fractures by using opposite limb as the splint and they are actually preferably to adhesive sports tape for this purpose if two are used as much easier to adjust degree of "tightness".

Overall an excellent product if you realize they are a "light-weight" product and are not very durable, but PERFECT for emergency use as can get 6 times as many for the price.

There's not much you can say about a triangle bandage. Either it's a bandage or it's not.

These bandages are individually wrapped in little ziploc bags and include safety pins for... well, pinning them. The bandage fabric itself is a little thinner than other brands I have seen, but it's also thicker than some others I've seen. As for doubling as a sling, yeah, in a pinch it will work but it wouldn't be my first choice as a sling.

For it's current price of .61 cents apiece you'd be a bit daft to complain.

It's a bandage, it bandages things, can also be used to tie and bind things. Your imagination is your limit with these.

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!

Your first aid class will show you the triangular bandage is the 'duct tape' of the first aid world. You can do a LOT with them and they will substitute for many other items. For example, you can refold it and wrap it around a wound holding a dressing. It is, of course, a natural arm sling, but can be used to tie limbs into splints, or any number of other tasks. These come with safety pins enclosed in each one, nice touch.

These are nifty bandages.

If any of you have had any Scout or wilderness first aid training, these are the bandages typically used for all those specialized bandaging jobs (e.g., ankle bandage, arm sling, collar bone immobilizer, head bandage). So, for Scouts, having a box of these handy makes lessons and demonstrations much easier than using neckerchiefs (which used to be much larger, but are now too small for most of the bandages). As a father with six sons, these have been invaluable for wrapping up and slinging sprained (and even broken) wrists and arms, and they work well for keeping ice packs in place, too.

Each bandage comes in its own zipper-seal bag, with a safety pin. I typically tie off my bandages with a square knot, but safety pins can always come in handy.

I added one of these to my personal first aid kit, and keep another one in a small survival kit. The cloth works well for starting fires if nothing else.

My wife got a box of these for my birthday last year. She knows how much I love the outdoors, and how much I love having the right gear. [I guess she might also be remembering how I broke my leg during a wilderness trip in 2006, and how I commented (when I got home) that we didn't have any triangular bandages in the first aid kit.]

Want Dynarex 12 Triangular Bandage 40x40x56, 12 Count Discount?

Simple packaged triangular bandages with safety pin. Good to carry with your outdoors first aid kit as these work great for making a sling on the spot. Just hold it up and tie a knot at the 90 degree point and wrap around the arm and tie in the back. 12 is a bit more than most people will need but I just split them up into all my kits ( car, home, etc )

Ice Aid Vintage Style Ice Bag, Camouflage Army Joe

Ice Aid Vintage Style Ice Bag, Camouflage Army JoeI own on of these and when one of my grandchildren discovered me using it, she immediately wanted to use it. I bought one for each of my 10 grandchildren (ages 2-16) and they all loved them. They are a perfect size and the younger ones kept filling them with ice all day for suddenly discovered "boo boos"! I would definitely recommend the product and the seller!

Got this more for the gimmick of the camo than for actual use. My boyfriend likes to play air soft and paintball so I tell him to use this for his "wounds". It is small so don't expect a full sized ice bag.

Rogaine for Men Hair Regrowth Treatment, 5% Minoxidil Topical Aerosol, Easy-to-Use Foam, 2.11 Ounce

Men's Rogaine Hair Regrowth Treatment Foam, 3 Month SupplyHair loss is a complicated issue that there is still no magic pill.

Like all product, it is a hit or miss. You will need to find one that works for you. Rogaine worked wonderfully for me. Although I use other products in conjunction with it (more below).

A little background:

I am in my late 40s with progressive hair loss symptoms. I have fine black hair and dry scalp than normal. My parents/grandparents were not bald at my age so heredity is questionable, although still possible because it can skip a few generation.

The product:

I used to use Rogaine liquid but it spills everywhere and trickles down into my forehead, face and eyes. Not very pleasant.

This foam just works so well, in fact, I do not use any styling product anymore. I used to use an organic hair paste that is very gentle but even gave that up.

This foam is your styling gel. I pump a little bit on my hands and rub it all over my hair. Now wait 5 minutes to let it dry a little bit.

Once it is dry, you can style is however you like and it will mold to that shape.

The results:

After over a year of using it almost everyday, it has dramatically slowed down my hair loss problem. Less hair in tubs, less hair falling off while blow drying, less hair on my towels and comb, just less hair everywhere.

As far as growth goes, it is hard to say because I have always had thin hair since I was a kid. Rogaine will not change your DNA and turn you into a hairy caveman. However, it will help prevent hair loss and hopefully grow back some of the hair you lost (not all of them of course).

The reason why I like this product so much is because it is not an extra product or an additional step I have to take. I use it just like a styling gel and incorporate it into my daily routine.

Although Rogaine works, I m not giving it all the credit. I have made many lifestyle changes and also use other products to help with hair loss problem.

Some of which I am sharing below:

Through years of research, I have found a therapy that works for me and many of my friends. It is not easy and requires lifestyle changes. I will outline them below:

First, start with diet. Increase raw organic foods. Reduce processed foods to the minimum. I recommend juicing everyday using a high quality juicer such as this one Breville BJE510XL Juice Fountain Multi-Speed 900-Watt Juicer. Remember to juice only organic vegetables and fruits. Wash them thoroughly after you soak them in a dilution of distilled water, 3% vinegar and a spoon full of baking soda for 10 minutes minimum.

These are the 10 fruits/veggies I juice everyday: Cucumbers (un-waxed), ginger, celery, spinach, bitter melon, carrots, apple, orange, cilantro and beets.

This recipe will not only help with hair loss, it will help with cancer, arthritus, heart diseases, headaches, weight loss, diabetes, migraine, anti-aging, and everything in between.

Juice it and drink it right away within 10 minutes. Don't store or refrigerate it as it wont be potent and looses the benefits due to oxidation.

I recommend this book: The Juicing Bible

Second, exercise! Not on a treadmill in your garage but actually go out running around the park! Practicing this breathing rhythm. Inhale for 5 seconds, hold for 5 and exhale for 5. Then slow do 10,10,10 once you are good.

Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week. Minimum! No excuses.

Weight training is also good but for hair loss, I found that aerobic exercises such as running and swimming is more effective based on my research.

Third: Use an organic shampoo without SLS (sulfates), or harsh preservatives and has DHT Blocker. You can actually make your own using Dr. Bronner Organic Castile Soap Unscented Baby-Mild, 32 fl oz liquid liquid and adding saw palmetto, nettles extract, and essential oils to it. However, it is sticky and makes your hair tangled up so you will need to rinse it out with apple cider vinegar as a natural conditioner after.

Or you can buy an Organic Hair Loss Prevention Shampoo on Amazon such as Pura d'or Hair Loss Prevention: Premium Organic Shampoo (16 fl. oz.)

Fourth: Stop using hairsprays and avoid high heat blow dryer. Dry on cool or low setting. Best just to use a fan to dry your hair after you damp it with a towel. Save the hairsprays for special events. There are organic pastes that you can use that is less harmful than hairsprays but I wouldn't recommend them unless you have to.

Fifth: Take biotin pills. These are very popular and inexpensive. Natrol Biotin 10,000mcg, Maximum Strength, 100 Tablets

Sixth: Reduce stress by Exercising! Change career if possible and if you care about your hair.

I don't normally like to talk about hair loss and I don't want to give my own experience, but I've seen so many people out there that can't figure out what works for hair loss, so I really wanted to give my 2 cents and help people out.

I used Rogaine foam for about 4 months before seeing results, and I did see enough regrowth to feel like I was getting my money's worth. However, I did wish that I had seen better results. I'm not picky when it comes to most products because I know that it's not like rogaine is magic.

Although Rogaine is a great product and gave me good results, I still think that there are products out there that are a more COMPLETE treatment system. After all, rogaine only does one thing to help stop hair loss, and that is that it helps bloodflow to your follicles. However, there are lots of other things that help. Decreasing DHT in the bloodstream helps. And so does having a good clean scalp. Changing your diet and taking supplements can certainly take care of that for you.

About 10 months after starting on Rogaine, I switched to HairIntegro for Men because it really does work better for me. The topical minoxidil works at least as great as rogaine does, and the oral supplement that goes with it decreases DHT and has been giving me much better results for the last 6 months or so. Also, it's relatively cheap because both treatments come together.

I know it's not a miracle product like I said, but there's no reason to stick to just one product and only get half of a treatment instead of branching out and seeing much better results.

This product works great, and if you combine it daily with a few other supplements that block DHT formation (Saw Palmetto, Nu-Hair, flaxseed oil, Niozin shampoo) it can really make a difference. Don't give up if you don't see results right away or if you notice more stray hairs coming outthis actually means that it's working. Stay faithful putting it on (morning and evening) and you will probably begin to see noticeable results around the 3-4 month mark. I highly recommend this over pills such as Propecia which have considerably negative side effects for some. It dries very quickly and nicely and the scent is not very bothersome at all. You may want to use slightly more than the recommended dosagethe instructions state that it only works on the vertex (mid-back of the scalp) but this is not true. It has REALLY grown hair for me around the temples, but it took longer to come in. The first place I noticed was that the back of my hair, which had thinned a bit, was now covered (after about 1-2 months). I'm at the 5 month mark now and am still seeing great results. Give it time, be patient, and wait for it to work. I think people might give up too easily because they think it's not working, but it does take time. It also works great if you use any kind of concealers on the scalp (like toppik or courve, spencer forrest brands)it works with those as well, just allow it to dry before putting anything else on your hair. Drying time is about 5-10 minutes max. Anyway, highly recommended for hair lossbe faithful in using it, be patient, and the results will come. Good luck to everyone on looking your best!

Want Rogaine for Men Hair Regrowth Treatment, 5% Minoxidil Topical Aerosol, Easy-to-Use Foam, 2.11 Ounce Discount?

My doctor said it best, "If a product works then you won't hear about it, but if a product fails then everyone becomes a bitter critic". So, for my two cents for what it's worth; the product for the last five months has worked for me. My hair loss was minimal and mostly involved the left temple receding higher then I wanted, which caused a noticeable gap sometimes when my medium-long hair was parted, but since taking this product the gap has seemed to vanish. Even examining my hair I can tell it has been filling in slowly.

Is it a permanent solution, having to apply a substance to my head twice a day for thirty seconds a pop? No, but also I like to remain optimistic and believe we are closer to an actual cure. So, my mind set now is that if I can fight this long enough by using a product such as Rogaine, then why not? Roughly, it cost me about 150 for a year supply. If that's all it takes to remain youthful when I'm pushing thirty then by all means, take my money.

Flexitol Heel Balm

Flexitol Heel Balm 2 ozI went to the podiatrist.. She gave me some cream in a giant tube that cost $90. It was similar to smearing axle grease on your feet..

This product works just as well if not better, and much easier to apply and it's not as greasy. I think I picked the value size up for $9.95.

Here's a hint for all you folks that may not know.. If you do this you will increase the effectiveness of this stuff 100% if you have a really bad dry foot problem.

Apply a liberal amount of this to your heels or feet before you go to bed, loosely wrap saran or other plastic wrap around your feet, then cover with socks. Sleep this way. The remove the wrap in the morning, then dry your new feet. The key to healing your skin is moisture. The wrap holds the moisture in.

In addition if you have a real problem that this wont fix, you may have a fungal infection. Apply a small amount of Lamisil cream or other athletes foot cream under the Flexitol.

Try one of these as well to buff off dry skin after you bathe or shower (it can also be used dry).

Easy Grip Professional Foot Smoother Lifetime Warranty + Free Shipping

Then apply the flexitol.

Using these tips will solve practically any dry, or built up callus problem you have. And will leave you with feet you'll want to show off to everyone in the spring. Well almost. LOL

Although I did not purchase this product from amazon I have bought other foot creams through amazon and they just did nothing for my feet. I will not write a good review if I don't believe in a product if you use this foot cream daily 2x it does work. Every year especially in the winter I get really dry cracked painful heels. I for the first time in along time have soft crack free heels. I have found my answer so I don't have to search anymore for a solution, because for me this was it. I would highly highly recommend this heel balm.

It really is crazy how quickly this product works. I've had deep heel cracks for a few years and have tried the usual: moisturizer, exfoliate, no open back shoes, etc. without any significant change in my heels. I found a website that mentioned Flexitol Heel balm along with a routine that has almost completely healed them (no pun intended) in 6 days. The first day, I used a pumice stone/ heel file and got rid of the dead skin after soaking my feet for 30 minutes. Put on the heel balm, wore socks, then reapplied at night. I've only used the file twice...however, I've applied the lotion religiously morning and night and I'm stupefiedno more pain and only the tiniest of cracks left. I just got sick of dealing with the pain/hassle and now I just wish I'd found this product sooner.

An earlier reviewer seems to find fault with the new formulationall I've used is the new product so I can't comment on what it was like beforeI just know it works now!

Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages, Clear Spots, 50-Count

Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages, Clear Spots, 50 CountIt's going to take me quite a while to use all 150 Band-Aids in the 3-pack, but I'll be ordering more as soon as I'm running low!

At only a few cents per Band-Aid, I feel totally alright putting them on EVERYTHING. Depending on your skin tone, these things can be practically invisible after you apply them. They have decent sticking power (though not as strong as the Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages, Flexible Fabric, 30 Count (Pack of 2)) and they're perfect for the most common sorts of minor injuries.

This is a useful size of Band-Aids for those small cuts and nicks that you need to cover for a few hours so you don't get blood on your clothes. I've had no luck finding the Band-Aid brand spot bandages in my local stores except as part of an assortment. All the drugstores seem to carry a store brand of spot bandages, but I've tried those and have experienced some redness and itching due to a mild allergy to the adhesive. My dermatologist told me this is very common and she recommended the Band-Aid brand. I always assumed that Band-Aid manufactured the store brands as well, but now I see a statement on this package -"The makers of Band-Aid brand do not manufacture store brand products." Well, so far this brand has worked for me with no skin irritation, so I'll stick with it. There is a warning though that this product contains natural rubber latex, so if you're avoiding latex be warned.

I was pleased to find the clear spots here on Amazon, at a good price and Prime-eligible. The 150 bandage supply will last us a year at least. If you're worried about buying in quantity, these boxes are small about the size of a deck of cards but a little thicker. Also, I checked the box and the bandage wrappers for expiration dates, wondering if the adhesive might weaken over time, but no mention of expiration.

What a great value. These "spots" are perfect for when a regular band-aid is too big. My husband is on daily dialysis and these "spots" are perfect for his access sites. I was glad to find them. There are not a lot in an assortment package you get from the grocery store.

Ahhhhhh...nothing like a bad pun to wake you up. However, there's nothing bad or pun-ish about these bandages. Small and covert, they work perfectly for those little cuts you don't need a ginormous band-aid laying across your body for. And the price? Insane. You won't find them cheaper. Very happy.

This is a hard-to-find size unless you buy a variety pack (which never contains enough of them). And I'm glad that Band-Aid offered them at a reasonable price.....some of the generic brands don't stick nearly as well.

Nexcare Coban Self-Adherent Wrap, 2-Inch x 5-Yard Roll, 1 Count Box

Nexcare Coban Self-Adherent Wrap, 2-Inch x 5-Yard Roll, 1 Count BoxRecently I've been going through a lot of these self-adhering wraps 3M brand (rash on tops of hands & forearms) & each bandage is always contained in a nice sterile package. I have absolutely no complaints with the comfort or the effectiveness of this product. It is truly a self-adhering bandage, which is beyond convenient. However, the smell of the material used in this bandage is horrendous a faint odor similar to old bacon so strange. It's not a good scent to be wearing when you're around a lot of people throughtout the day ha. After using several packages I finally got smart & switched to the Johnson & Johnson brand called "Coach" self-adhering wrap/bandage & they work exactly the same (convenient & sterile) without the weird stale bacon smell. Quality of the 3M product is fine so if you don't mind the smell, this wrap will do what it says & it stays wrapped snugly until you want to remove it (I suggest cutting through the material instead of trying to unwrap it's difficult to get the material unstuck from itself & pulling on it hurts if you have sensitivity at the site).

Of you are a swimmer and you need to cover a scrape or burn, this is the product. Also, if you have shoulder problems and are looking for material to wrap around your arm, this works! Great for serious swimmers.

Coban is terrific for support for sprains or stressed tendons, etc. You stretch it out and then wrap it gently around the foot or ankle or wrist or whatever. Sticks to itself and is not bulky. You can re-use a few times if you are careful.

Aloe Gator Green Stuff Aloe Vera Gel (8-Ounce)

Aloe Gator Green Stuff Aloe Vera GelOf all the Aloe gel we have tried, this is the best! My family went on vacation and my husband got a horrible sunburn! We bought this at the hotel gift shop and lathered it on 3 times/day. He never peeled! Once we discovered it, we now buy it on Amazon and never leave home without it. I haven't seen it anywhere else, so thanks to Amazon for carrying it. It feels good when it goes on. It doesn't feel sticky and dries quickly. Get the Green Stuff! It works!

I have tried all of the after too much sun products and this one is the best. Besides the aloe vera it has some special additives which make this the one to get to avoid peeling. It just seems to work better than the others. You won't regret having this in your summer bag for those days you over expose.

This has more ingredients than some Aloe Vera gels, fragrance and color being the most notable. Certainly, it cools and heals sunburn, but who sells the safest, least adulterated Aloe Vera?

EMT Shears/Scissors

EMS RESCUE TRAUMA SHEARS 7 1/4the shears broke the first time i had to use them. which wasnt good since i work in an ER. and was trying to cut clothes off of a patient. moral of the day. if you are going to use ems shears for emergancy situations. spend the extra money and get good ones.

Thers are so cheaply made they are only good for show. If you want to look good in your uniform then go ahead and get these. If you want to perform when duty calls then spend a few dollars more and get you a good dependable pair of trauma shears.

If you're cutting through clothing only, these might be okay, but they're very cheaply made. Most EMT shears let you "cut through a penny!", but I couldn't even cut through rope with these.

Quality of the shears are not that great. From an EMT who uses then every day they don't stand up, I keep them now as a throw away backup.

I took the trauma scissors to work and it wouldn't cut gauze! I even had trouble cutting thin plastic with it! I would not recommend this product to anyone!

How to Create a Home First Aid Kit

Emergencies happen. Always be prepared with a first aid kit. While a first aid kit can be purchased commercially, you can assemble your own with this article.

Steps

1. Choose a decently sized container. It needs to be large enough to store all of the materials, but it should also be lightweight and portable. Your kit should also be waterproof, but this can be accomplished by sealing all of your supplies in Ziploc bags.

2. Separate your first aid kit into two sections. One section should include all of your basic medical supplies, such as bandages and ointments, while the second compartment should include important medications for your family.

3. Fill the box with the sterile and/or newly-bought items. These items include:
  • Adhesive dressings, of varied size and shape, from regular Band-Aid shapes to small squares to large
  • Small (but sharp) scissors
  • A package of gauze pads(2X2, 4X4, 5X9, 8X10, and 12X30 gauze pads). They can be large, because you can always cut them if necessary.
  • Adhesive tape (Not like cellophane tape)
  • Cotton Balls, large and small, or maxi pads
  • Rubbing non-alcohol wipes for cleaning external surfaces only (i.e. cleaning dirt off of unbroken skin, or wiping down a surface)
  • Antibiotic Ointment, for keeping the infection out of cuts, scrapes, etc.
  • A thermometer
  • Tweezers and a sewing needle for pulling out splinter
  • Non-latex gloves, in case of blood, body fluids and dangerous waste, keep two pairs for the smallest kit
  • A bee sting kit
  • Insect repellent
  • Sterile dressings(a sterile pad attached to a roller bandage)
  • Roller bandages (2,3,4 inch)
  • Triangular bandages
  • Sterile saline
  • CPR breathing mask.
4. Store it an easily accessed locale in your home. Teach your children and frequent house guests where the first aid kit is stored.

Tips

  • You could save a life by learning CPR and basic first aid. Training is available from your local red cross or other organizations. Supplies won't help if you don't know how and when to use them.
  • Cotton swabs are optional
  • You can also use a store bought kit and and add other items like alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, cotton balls, extra bandages and a thermometer.
  • For antibiotic ointment, Neosporin is recommended, because it does not sting the cut.
  • Go through the kit semi-annually to check the contents and expiration dates of the products; replace them as needed.
  • If anyone in your family is diabetic, coelic, is allergic to a common occurence such as nuts or lactose, has cystic fiborosis or has any other kind of long-term illness then include necessary equipment such as an epi-pen or spare insulin injections.
  • You can use these items, if you have no supplies in an emergency:
  • sticks for splints
  • cloth for bleeding,slings.
  • Water,to clean wounds and eyes.
  • If a family member is pregnant, then for the durration of the pregnancy include any vitamins or supplements she might be taking.
  • Neospirin is great powder for road rash.
Warnings

  • Be aware of what you use and don't let supplies get low! This means checking those supplies with expiration dates to make sure they'll still work in an emergency.
  • Wash tweezers, scissors, and thermometer after each use. Sterilize tweezers and scissors over a flame for a few seconds for added safety.
  • Do not store prescriptions in the first aid kit, as they may expire. Some exceptions to this rule are emergency items such as epi-pens, which are meant to be stored for longer periods of time and are therefore alright.
  • Don't use any products containing natural rubber latex (NRL). They may deteriorate after time or worse, someone could be allergic.
  • Be sure everyone who would potentially use the kit is not allergic to any of the ingredients.
Things You'll Need

  • roller bandages(2,3,4 inch)
  • triangular bandages
  • sterile saline
  • CPR breathing mask
  • safety pins and bandage clips
  • disposable ice pack
  • A list of the contents of the first aid kit that can be noted when an item is used so that item may be replaced. The list should also include the dates when any perishable materials (ointments, sting kits, aspirin, etc.) were last placed in the kit so they can be updated if unused after the recommended period.
