You will need to read the directions (at first) to use this product because it is far more advanced than what many of us are used to. It is not as intuitive as less feature rich products. However, the Healthsmart also measures ambient room temperature very accurately. Additionally, it speaks readings and functions and that does come in handy at times. The readout panel is very easy to read and does not require you to press another button for illumination (like my Braun requires). The product does not have an on/off switch and instead relies on a sleep mode for battery conservation.
The Healthsmart seems ergonomically designed compared to any previous thermometer I have used. This unit does not require use of the pastic disposable covers I seem to never have enough of. Instead, they recommend you clean it after use. No big deal really and in my opinion, a far better option than the plastic covers. Some have complained of no included storage pouch. I have never purchased a thermometer that include storage. It may be worth noting that the Healthsmart seems less durable than my Braun. however, that may be do to the flat design, which I find appealing and easier to handle.
REGARDING CLAIMS OF INNACURACY Like I said earlier, you must read the directions when you first use the Healthsmart. There is a cover on the sensor that pulls off when you want to take an ear reading. It stays on to perform a forehead reading. If you leave the cover on and take an ear reading, the results will be innacurate. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I wanted to try out a forehead thermometer, so I ordered this one because of the good feature set. I find it to be simple to use, a bit complicated to setup, and having only average accuracy when used on the forehead, but good accuracy when used in the ear.
Design
It is a bit clunky looking to my eyes, although it does fit fine in the hand. The device has a cone shaped area, where the temperature sensor is located, with a snap on lid (snap on for forehead, remove for ear). There is a "MEM" button that is used to turn on the thermometer and enter setup mode, a "TALK" button that is used to toggle settings and request a readout of time and room temperature, plus a measurement button that also contains a "fever" LED.
Features:
Voice readout (can be disabled). Multiple languages are supported, including English (default), Spanish, French, and Italian. There were a couple of other languages as well, but I could not figure out the two letter meanings, so I don't know what other languages are supported.
Memory feature remembers last several temperatures, including date and time.
Will measure the room temperature. This seems a bit overkill, but I suppose it is useful.
Ear or forehead use. There is a removable cover that snaps off for ear use.
Features date and time this is nice when observing trends of the memory function.
Temperature LED turns red if temperature is above 99.6 degrees (meaning a fever).
Powered by 3 AAA batteries
Use:
It takes only about 2 seconds to record forehead temperature. It seems to run about 1 degree low when compared to an oral thermometer, although ear measurements appeared to be accurate. Overall, it is simple to use; however it is a bit complicated to set up for first use. I should note here that there is an extensive list of recommended uses, which looked to me to be a list of conditions under which the thermometer might read the wrong temperatures. I think the list is accurate, and it does serve as a reminder that when a person comes in from the outside or from swimming (for example), their forehead is likely to be a bit colder than body temperature.
Disadvantages:
No ear covers, so one is expected to clean the sensor with alcohol and ear swabs between uses. This is not as convenient as some other models that have the disposable covers, but it may mean better temperatures.
There was a strange instruction for first time use "condition the thermometer for 30 minutes in measurement site". I finally figured out that this means to bring the thermometer to room temperature before use.
One has to hold the measurement button while the temperature is being taken. Other thermometers require only a single button, and then let go. This is somewhat compensated by the quick measurement time.
Voice readout is a bit loud, especially when taking the ear temperature. I put a piece of scotch tape over it, and it is still quite audible.
The clock setting and a few other options, plus the complicated readout, mean that one really does need to keep the user manual handy. This is not a basic model!
Summary:
Recommended for use with the ear canal, and perhaps with the forehead if the temperatures are always consistent (one can add to get the right temperature). The speed of measurement is really great, especially when taking a child's temperature.

I bought this for the ear thermometer only. Some complained about the forehead scan not working. As a nurse, digital thermometers are hard to keep under a toddlers arm. I wanted an ear thermometer at a good price. This is small, easy to use and accurate.Read Best Reviews of Healthsmart 18-935-000 Digiscan Multi-function Infrared Thermometer Here
The people that have left negative reviews for this item obviously didn't read the directions because it works perfectly fine! Only use the attachment for an accurate reading when taking a temperature on the forehead...when taking a temperature in the ear, remove the attachment!! If you do this it will work flawlessly!!Some people think they can just take something out of the box and use it without reading the directions...read people!

Does a great job after becoming accustomed to use. Ear cover difficult to remove. Only used for testing purposes to compare ear and forehead readings. Very sensitive to variations. Nice extra measures room temps. Battery use seems minimal. Used it a lot after receipt. Not so much now. Nice to monitor temps while child sleeps. Very reassuring to wife and oh yes, me too.Band-Aid Band-Aid Comfort-Flex Adhesive Bandages Sheer Extra Large

As I have shared in many of my other reviews, I have been slowly been building a bug out bag for emergency situations. Obviously medical supplies is a necessity for any emergency kit so I have been looking for a lightweight, comprehensive medical kit to put in my pack. This particular kit caught my eye because of its light weight (only 15 oz.) and compactness so it can easily be packed along all my other gear. When it arrived I was pleased with the build of the carrying case, it was pliable but seemed well built. Opening up the kit I was impressed with how it was packaged. On one side you have labeled zipper pouches containing wound/burn/blister/sprain materials and on the other side pouches for bandages/medical tools/medical information. The little booklet that comes within the kit is wonderful, it contains a comprehensive set of rules and information about how to deal with any type of situation (from choking to wound irrigation to splints etc.) but what really impressed me was the little inserted guidelines that showed you how to deal with these situations on the spot with no medical supplies and only basic tools (knife, shirt, etc.) so that you will still be covered if you are without a kit or without some of the necessary supplies.
There is a larger kit made by the same company called the weekender kit (Adventure Medical Kits Weekender Kit) that comes with more gear and such in it and I would advise you to give it a look over as well, but I wanted something smaller and more compact to use in my bag.
Also, I would suggest supplementing this kit by adding a 25 g and 50 g quickclot packs (QuikClot Sport Regular 25G by Adventure Medical Kits and Quikclot Sport Brand Advanced Clotting Sponge ,Stop Bleeding Fast, 50 Gram Package) or CELOX First Aid (CELOX First Aid Temporary Traumatic Wound Treatment 2g, 10-Pack and CELOX First Aid Temporary Traumatic Wound Treatment 25g.) for controlling heavy bleeding, these hemostatic products are a wonderful addition for any medical kit. Also, maybe think about a suturing kit as well for wound closure so you ware not only relying on closing strips for wound closure.
This kit provides a nice comprehensive set up for grab and go medical supplies for either the hiking enthusiast or for someone looking for a compact kit to throw in an emergency bag.You do not want to be with out one of these. Have used adventure medical kits for years , always reliable with the right supplies. This is ideal for exactly what the name says, Day trips. I supplement this kit with Water-Jel burn gel and a Quickclot sponge God forbid i should need it, but you want this. less than a pound and fits in any compartment of my backpack. Ideal personal med kit, would recommend this to anyone.

So I just got back from a 9 mile hike in the rockies and this kit worked out perfectly. Thankfully, i didn't have to use it but its light-weight and small size made it quite easy to carry up to the continental divide. It has everything you need for a a day hike and any unforeseen mishaps. With this kit, you can travel with confidence knowing you have the tools at your disposal incase there is an injury on the trail.
I would recommend this for day hikes.

This is the kit to take on hikes and camping trips, whether for one person or multiple. It's small and light enough to easily fit into a back pack, but comes with enough supplies for serious capabilities way beyond the typical band-aid solution. There's also room in the bag for additional items, like extra pads, dressing, Quickclot, and small medical shears. Most importantly, it comes with an informative guide on treating various types of injuries, which you should read before an injury happens.Want Adventure Medical Kits Day Tripper First Aid Kit Discount?
This seemed like the right size/inventory for my 2-person disaster/bug-out bag and I'm very impressed with what I got. Small and lightweight but very comprehensive. I added some shears to it and I'm going to get a pack quick-clot and I think it'll be about as good as it gets for the size and price.Futuro Sport Wrap Around Wrist Support
They work well and provide good support and compression. Recently my wife got pregnant and started to feel pressure and pain in her wrists. I recommended these for her and she wears them all the time now while she is on the computer.I have a variety of Futuro wrist and elbow wraps. They are stretchy enough to be comfortable but can be tightened just the right amount for adequate support. Highly recommended.

I bought this for my weak wrist. At first I thought it was a too big for my wrist but with a little adjustment i made work. I had it on a little tight and it left a scar but that was my fault. It offer ok support but not the best. I like that I can wear this at work and wear my other larger support when I'm home.I have arthritis and when it gets really bad I put these on my wrists and it helps with the pain.
