I have very sensitive reactive skin due to allergies and eczema. I can never use moisturizers because I always end up having an allergic reaction. I have dehydrated skin. At first I thought this lotion was doing a good job, but as I kept using I noticed it made my skin extremely oily, and my skin erupted in whiteheads and little pimples everywhere. I didn't realize it was the lotion until I accidentally skipped a day of application, and I noticed a great improvement in my skin. I guess I'll stick to drugstore products for now.

However, my friend had a really bad case of eczema and this lotion helped her tremendously. So while it didn't work for my skin type, perhaps you should still give this a try.

The American Diagnostic Corporation 342 Velcro leg tourniquet is not an effective tourniquet to stop severe life threatening hemorrhaging due to traumatic injuries from gunshot wounds, improvised explosive devices, edged weapons and other forms of trauma. The way this tourniquet is designed it will not be possible to tighten enough to stop severe bleeding. The description states that this tourniquet is for "first aid use" but this is not an emergency tourniquet. At best this tourniquet would only be effective to draw blood preferably in a clinical setting. If you are looking for an effective combat proven tourniquet then go with the Combat Application Tourniquet (C-A-T).

The C-A-T Combat Application Tourniquet, C-A-T, is an excellent and highly recommended addition to your first aid kit. The C-A-T Tourniquet has been researched and proven to be effective. When faced with a catastrophic injury to an arm or leg from a traumatic event with significant arterial bleeding then this tourniquet is a reliable and necessary piece of gear that has saved many lives. This tourniquet is fast and easy to apply one handed, under stressful conditions, and is combat proven on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. Time is of the essence when faced with a serious injury with significant bleeding requiring immediate and effective control of bleeding. This tourniquet can literally be the difference between life and death.

Based upon research from the United States Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) Battlefield Tourniquet Recommendations Issued July 28, 2004:

"The Combat Application Tourniquet (C-A-T) was effective 100% of the time in quickly and effectively occluding arterial blood flow in both the upper and lower extremities in all trials...Pain scores (pinching and circumferential) were dramatically lower with the C-A-T than any other strap-style device evaluated."

Research after this 2004 study has come to the same conclusion. Hence, the Combat Application Tourniquet should be a part of any serious first aid kit or medic gear. Get this tourniquet and be prepared for the worst case scenario.

Overall, the American Diagnostic Corporation Velcro leg tourniquet is a gimmick that I would not count on to save your life if you have a severe hemorrhage. Don't waste your money on this tourniquet and instead invest in a Combat Application Tourniquet that actually works.

This tourniquet is supposedly big enough for a thigh, yet it barely fits around my calf. It's not even stretchy enough to constrict an arm properly. Forget about buying this. The instructions also talk about wrapping it around your 'thumb', meaning wherever this came from in China has no clue what they're doing.

This product is supposed to be an adult size and wouldn't fit over my thin petite friend with all my might to save her life. By the time we gave up she had a rubber burn on her leg. It's going to cost me more to ship it back for a refund so I'm batting zero. Seriously, just keep a belt handy in case of an emergency. That's what I'm planning to do. This page should have given exact length of product. I was having a little too much faith. My bad.

I read the previous three reviews and had to chime in. We use these in our clinic...for drawing blood or starting IVs and they work well. I don't believe they were made to act as a tourniquet to stop arterial bleeding. Some hints on why I think that: 1.) the standard for an arterial bleed tourniquet is 2 inches wide and this isn't that. 2.) a trauma tourniquet would need to be able to be "locked down" which velcro isn't capable of. These two characteristics mean that you wouldn't be able to apply and get the necessary pressure to accomplish your goal of stopping the blood loss.

I just wanted to clarify this before people buy blue, velcroed rubber thinking it's going to help in a serious arterial bleed. THIS IS NOT AN EMERGENCY USE TOURNIQUET!!

I would also seriously recommend taking a first aid class or at least becoming familiar with emergency techniques if you truly believe this product was designed to stop arterial blood flow. This kind of ignorance could be fatal, despite your best intentions and desire to be helpful.

Brave Soldier Crash Paks First Aid Kit

As the name implies, this is a "Crash Pack" not a first aid kit. It's everything you need in the event of a crash on your bicycle (mountain bike or road cycling) or would come in handy after a scrape while bouldering, rock climbing, or cross country running.

You simply can't carry a complete first aid kit on an endurance event, like cycling or cross-country running, because it would be too bulky and heavy. You need something lighter and smaller than anything ever thought up by the outdoor sports industry for general use.

Inside the ultralight and durable mylar bag are a variety of essential single use size items for cleaning, disinfecting, and dressing most scrapes and cuts, as well as a couple of packets of NSAIDs (such as Advil, Bufferin, Tylenol). It even includes packets of bacetracin and butterfly bandages.

I've had mine for about three years now, used it, resupplied it, and the mylar bag looks likes it's ready for several more years of being at the ready in my jersey pocket during the thousands of miles I ride per year.

Before buying the crash pak, I used to carry just plain band-aids in a variety of sizes. No one sells single packs of bacitracin, alcohol swabs, or butterfly bandages for instance, so to create an 'as good' crash pack myself I would have to buy large quantities of each of the items it contains all at once. Thank goodness Brave Soldier has already done this, and even sells the refill variety pack needed to resupply this increadibly well put together crash pack.

I suppose the one CON is that it doesn't include any large, deluxe bandages that are antibacterial and waterproof, but those things cost the same as this entire kit and can easily be bought in any store that sells first aid supplies. I bought a pack of them and put a few in my Crash Pak--so now it's even better.

BOTTOM LINE: The Brave Soldier Crash Pak is exactly what the Emergency Medical Technician ordered for outdoor endurance athletes.

This is a very compact and extensive first aid kit. There are multiple crash packs and I ride with the whole kit just in case I can offer aid to someone else.

It takes one crash to realize the value of carrying this little package. While one major wound took all the pads and gauze, I was glad to have each and every one of them and the antibiotic ointment. AAA 121-Piece Road Trip First Aid Kit

While you get a lot of product for the price and a convenient bag, I was disappointed that it does not come with an ice pack (they stuck a little sticker on the outside stating that due to shipping, they are unable to include the ice pack and instead added a few more ban-aids). There is a lot of stuff.

I think this is a really great product...The size is really manageable for my tiny Smart Car and I like that the case is hard and tough. I bought this after I had no supplies at a really bad car accident I came up on. I was the first on the scene and couldn't do anything to help. I know a first aid kit isn't THAT much help for a really traumatic car accident but there's quite a few things in this kit that would have been handy at the time. (Gauze, gloves, etc.) All in all I think this product is worth the money and should serve it's buyer well.

I did a First aid presentation for our sports car club, and chose this kit for the prizes we were giving away at the end of the meeting. I did a fair amount of research before purchasing, and felt that this kit had the most requisite number of necessary items of all the kits that I researched (for the $30 price). I like that it contains (among a lot of other items) two pairs of gloves, a 5"x9" combine pad, an instant cold pack, a tweezers, a scissors (although small), some meds, a handle and a soft sided container that lets you add a few items of your own. It's handy that it also has a carabiner on the handle. I added a small bandage scissors, more gauze wraps and an ace elastic wrap to my kit. I ended up ordering another 23 kits for members who also liked the kit.

The AAA 121 kit has the basics that you might need while on the road: scissors , tweezers, vinyl gloves, a whistle but not loud enough to be an emergency whistle, some Q-tips, sting relief pads, antispetic and alcohol wipes, 2 triangular bandages, a 5" x 9" dressing, a mix of bandages, a small collection of sterile gauze pads, and a roll of gauze with tape. It comes in a nice hard shell case that zips up around the edge.

If you're really going to carry it on the road for emergencies, consider supplementing it with a few additional items including: pain killers, a SAM splint, a heavier pair of scissors, a cold pack, and a few trauma dressings.

Overall, it's is a decent low-cost first aid kit that gets you started on having useful emergency supplies in your car. I include it in the Disaster Preparedness Auto Kits that I sell.

I found Yunnan Baiyao to be excellent for the care of a dog with adeno carcinoma. Last summer, we took our 7 and 5 year old boys on a return journey for me to Western China from my backpacking days. Like other reviewers, we have a dog with nasal cancer (adenocarcinoma) who had nose bleeds. We gave him Yunnan Balyao on a holistic vet's recommendation and have seen the bleeding reduced first to a trickle, then to only occasional (once or twice a day) spotting. We were constantly wiping drips from his nose before we used this product. We highly recommend it.

Basic ENT Field Kit

I am a combat medic with the US Army, not a doctor.

This kit was decent and had a nice amount of diverse tools. The major problem I had was with the otoscope attachment. In order to get the tympanic membrane in focus, you had to get WAY too close to it. I couldn't get the membrane in focus without touching the sensitive nerves on the inside of the ear canal. I returned this kit.

The other tools seemed decent. Just get a separate otoscope and your set!

My husband uses this tape to adhere his pain patches, which do not stick well on their own. This is the only tape he's found that works, and believe me, he's tried them all. He has sensitive skin, and the tape doesn't cause any rash or swelling, works great. Additionally, this is the best price I have found anywhere for this item, love it!
