My family uses this tape when we need to tape gauze around a wound or tape on an eye patch (when a bandaid won't do).This also works great for ballet dancers doing pointe class who put tape around toes to prevent blisters or protect toes from blisters they already have. I ordered this product On Jan 29, 2012. It arrived two days later. What I received was not 3M Durapore, but Johnson & Johnson Dermicil medical tape which is similar. I ended up keeping the tape. After contacting the seller and informing them of the error over 3 weeks ago and the product description is still in error. I understand mistakes are made. I ordered this product from "Treecycler" but instead received a box of DURICEL cloth tape. It was yellowing and smelled old. I asked the seller to refund my money and tell me where to send back the incorrect tape I was sent.However, I just saw another review where the person was also sent the wrong tape. This, therefore, is no accident -the seller is a scam artist. Buy from another seller for the real deal so you don't waste your time like I have done.

This tape is works well for its intended use, binding muscles or tendons as with an Ace bandage.It is also handy over a wound dressing, over sterile tape, as its ability to stretch with the skin helps it to adhere well, so long as its lengthwise stretch direction is aligned with the direction of skin stretch.
A downside is that it sticks so well that it can be hard to get the adhesive residue off the skin. It will come off with rubbing alchohol and/or mineral oil, though, with some scrubbing.

After a couple of uses, I decided that I was happy enough with this product to make it my default Band-Aid and include it in my cars' first aid kits.I will not discuss the great virtues of Band-Aids because the brand is hardly a novelty. Since I had a good experience with the 'plus Antibiotic' version, I thought it might help someone if I discussed how this is different from the other Band-Aid products.
It adheres well to the skin. The last one I used, on a thumb cut, stayed tight for 2 days and survived 2 showers and several hand-washing sessions.
The adhesive bands are transparent to the point that it was hard to notice that I was actually wearing a Band-Aid. Kids who like the colored variety may not appreciate this.
It's very easy to apply. I could do it with one hand without a problem remember, my cut was on a thumb.
It's easy to remove.
My skin is rather sensitive but I noticed only a very mild rash on the side of the thumb opposite to the wound, caused by the glue.
The added antibiotic seems to be quite effective at healing wounds faster.
Since it's medicated, it actually has an expiration date.
For those who understand what this means, the 'active ingredients' statement on the box says: Each gram of ointment contains Polymixin B Sulfate 10,000 units and Bacitracin Zinc 500 units in a special white petrolatum base.

Granted, this isn't something that you'd really shop for online (unless building some first aid kits for the home and autos), since by the time you need it, you probably have a gouge in your flesh or a burn or something...But, if you're looking already you may as well buy this, along with First Aid Only 4" Sterile Conforming Gauze Roll Bandage, 12-Count Bags before you have an injury...since it's much cheaper, you get more supplies, and you know they're going to be good quality.
This stuff tears easily, seems to be somewhat water resistant (some moisture/drops doesn't make it unable), and comes in small enough rolls so you can throw a couple in a first-aid kit, or a backpack.

Chad Cross was hunting for turkey in the woods in Alabama when a venomous pit viper rattlesnake bit him in the lower left leg. Nervous and scared, the Montgomery resident attempted to calm himself and slow his heart rate so as to prevent the quick spreading of the deadly venom throughout his body. He then made a move that saved his life. He pulled out his $10 snake-bite kit. WSFA has the incredible story:

"Best way I can describe it is someone taking a full swing with a baseball bat and hitting me in my calf," Cross told WSFA.
"I knew I had to calm down and get my heart rate down because the faster my heart was pumping, I knew the faster than venom was going through my system."
Cross opened his Bite & Sting venom extraction kit and read the directions. He's carried it with him on hunting trips for years but never knew how to use it.
He stuck the tip of the extractor over the bite, pushed the plunger down and pulled it up, creating a suction that brought the venom with it. Then he went to get treatment. His on-camera demonstration shows how the skin is sucked up, and thus, the venom is sucked out.
"That's what pulled it all out and I think saved my life," he told WSFA.
The doctor told him as much, saying without using the kit, he would have died before he ever made it to his truck.

My husband is a hunter. I know he comes across snakes all the time in the woods esp here in FL. I read the article about the man bite by a rattler and it saved his life. That was enough for me to purchase this kit for him. We have all kinds of venomous snakes on our or near our property (cottonmouth snakes in particular)so I feel better knowing we have this kit.
