I have lived with an auto accident caused spinal cord injury for well over a decade and have found massage to be one of the few things to bring relief from chronic muscle pain body wide. I have (when I could still afford it) had professional massages at 60+ an hour, use an iJoy massage chair, and every evening use this Maxipro Thumper for an hour or more while watching TV. It DOES the job,,,,,,, and has been powerful and useful for 5+ years now. It is NOT a vibrator as one reviewer surprisingly suggested and "thump" it DOES. Unlike other handheld units (I owned the Mini Thumper but it quit on me after 1.5 years of this kind of use) the shape and weight of this make it perfect for placing in different positions for different body parts where a leg can lay on it or it can lay on the leg, etc. For the back, it can be propped easily and with some adjustments here and there does an excellent job of relieving deep muscle pains that nothing else works to relieve. The moment this one dies,, I'll order another immediately!
Added comment, The massager "died" last night and as I said, I ordered another immediately and from this Merchant in particular. I had the occasion to speak with the MFG after I took the unit apart to seek the reason for its demise and their top notch service dept. told me a way to keep it running a little longer and provided me a way to repair it when it gives it up permanently. So, this gave me reason to call the Merchant above and see how they handled my request to cancel the order. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful and they deserve this notation. So, one more reason to buy this High Quality (and I've seen the inside) massage unit that may last my life time. I am not one who gives the highest praise easily but I DO for this dynamic duo. My chiropractor used this on me an \d I had to have it. I had sciatica caused by extreme muscle spasms in my back No pressure could rid me of the spasms but the thumper is different, and not for the faint of heart...it really gets in there and kneads the muscles...One thing I don't like is that it is loud, but anything to help the back It vibrates so much if you talk while using it you sound like you are under water! it has several raised areas that connect with the muscles If you can get someone to push while holding onto the thumper it is even better. actually it almost takes another person to help you use it because it is so heavy I lay it on the bed and lean into it,, but sometimes it vibrates so much it moves...still the best thing for muscle spasms..simply the best

I'm a professional masseur and have been using a thumper on my clients for about 10 years. It's different from most massagers in that it has a percussive (thumping) action rather than a rapid back and forth action, so it's effect is deeper and more satisfying. Self thumping is difficult. You really need a "thump buddy."

I first was introduced to the Thumper when I went to the chiropractor's office for sciatica. The minute he placed it on my lower back, I knew that I had to have one. I walked out of the office pain free and remained so.

I had a wart cluster on my finger for six or seven years. Could not get rid of it. Then, while at my doctor's, he showed me how to scrape the skin away with a #15 blade scalpel before putting salycylic acid treatment on it. The #15 blade scalpel is great with its rounded edge and allows me to gently remove the skin in whatever angle I need.
