Diabetic Organizer Deluxe Diabetic Carrying Case
I am very happy with this purchase.I have had one for many years now. I love it. Unfortunately, it has now gotten a tear in it and have had to replace it. But, I recommend this for any diabetic. I take it everywhere with me. And, this is the best price I have found.

Not as good for organizing as pictured online. Elastic loops do not hold the pen tight so it slides around. Pocket for meter on the other hand is a little too tight. Definiteley will not hold two weeks worth for someone who tests four times and takes two base shots daily in addition to pen shots. Overall, an OK product for the price paid.Read Best Reviews of Diabetic Organizer Deluxe Diabetic Carrying Case Here
First, I'm pretty sure I ordered a blue one, but got a black one. That will make it hard to find in a dark purse by sight alone; by "feel" it should be fine. The cost of returns is too high to make it worth sending back, and if it didn't go back by regular mail (which is how it arrived), getting to a UPS/FED-EX store is difficult with a disability. I would have much preferred the blue.SecondI'm not sure how 2 weeks worth of stuff would fit in here if someone actually takes insulin 4-5 times a day. (ExampleI use Lantus at night, with vials/syringes..and Humalog FlexPensup to 100 u/day with meals and at bedtime depending on blood sugar and carb intake... For 2 weeks, one vial of Lantus is enoughno spare; I would need one pen for every 3-4 days, so for 14 days, 5 pens ( 6 pens to be safe)... I'm not sure how padded the insulin would be in the event of accidental drops... and it's hard to detect a faulty pen until ones blood sugar acts up for no reason, and closer inspection is done). No room for any back up insulin, if supplies are also in this case.
If only for meters, strips, extra batteries, alcohol preps (for those who use them), glucose tablets, lancets, and the lancing device, then yesit's more than adequate for 2 weeks. My pocket sharps container DOES fit, and that is important.
Fortunately (depending on how one looks at itLOL ), I can't be away from home that long, and am only looking for something to get me to a full day-long event out of town (12-15 hours). I'm a disabled nurse, and like to have supplies and whatever I might need ready for most contingencies. I'll make it with this, but if I were actually going to be gone for any extended period of time, I'd invest in one of these (for relatively immediate use stuff) AND a hard case (or eBag insulated bagpreferable) that could hold the rest of my supplies, to refill this one.
It does seem well made, and the zippers are sturdynot the little cheap ones on some products. The ice pack is one that freezes up lumpy and in awkward shapes, so I won't be using that. I've got Techni-Ice that can be cut to fit, and will freeze more uniformly, so that will be my coolant source. This case won't be out in the sun, so the temperature isn't something I'm that worried about. (and good thing it's going to be indoors as the black would retain more heat than a blue one, if exposed to the sunshine...). :)

Africa's Best Kids Organics Hair Lotion, Shea Butter Detangling Moisturizing
This product seems to melt tangles and absorbs easily into hair. My hair was soft and manageable with a minimum of elbow grease! Here are a few things to know:
This is a heavier product, best suited for African American hair textures.
No need to wet hair, this product will add moisture.
I'm not sure what other reviewers are talking about... it just smells okay.
The ingredients may not be perfect, but this is a great inexpensive solution!

I concur with the other reviewers as to how great that "Africa's Best Organics Detangle Lotion" (with extra virgin olive oil plus shea butter) is for both naturally curly and relaxed hair. What I like most about this product is that it moisturizes the hair while leaving the hair naturally soft. I am a woman with naturally curly hair that changes textures depending on the weather (here in the D.C. area it can get both humid and rainy in the same day during the summer), and this product keeps my hair moisturized even when the rain gets to it. This product can be safely used by both children and adults from various racial backgrounds. I was fortunate to have discovered this product last summer, and my husband has remarked that it smells good in my hair, and has helped soften it. "Africa's Best Organics Detangle Lotion" is best to get if you are looking for a hair lotion that provides an adequate amount of moisture while simultaneously containing a pleasant scent.I am growing out my relaxer and read about this product on a natural hair site. I was a little skeptical at first but after several uses I am hooked. It really moisturizes my hair which is usually pretty dry and I love that it does not leave it feeling greasy. I am not sure how well it works as a detangler because I have not tried it on wet hair but it leaves my hair very soft when used as a daily moisturizer. My husband even commented that my hair smells like berries! I will definitely order this again.Want Africa's Best Kids Organics Hair Lotion, Shea Butter Detangling Moisturizing Discount?

(review updated 12/08/09)After much research, I picked up the Adventure Medical "Sportsman" first aid kit just prior to an ATV trip in the mountains of West Virginia. Last year I rolled my ATV, and another member of our party also had an injury. Fortunately, neither were serious. However, I realized that no-one had any form of first aid kit, which was foolish. Accidents DO happen, and it could have been MUCH worse. Though I am a former Red Cross-certified trail guide with first aid and CPR certifications, treatment recommendations have changed over the years and I have not kept up to date. Since no-one in my group was current on first aid or CPR, I needed both a first aid kit AND a guide.
Enter the Adventure Medical Kits Sportsman Kit. Foremost, the roughly 8x6" size of this kit (3.5" thick) was not as bulky as I anticipated. That was actually a good thing, because I did not have much room to spare and wanted to put it in my backpack. It was the perfect size for that. The nylon rip-stop construction of the bag is very durable, and the individual, labeled pockets inside keep everything well organized. The case has a reflective strip on the outside that would make it easy to locate in the dark, or to use as an identifier at night if someone were looking for you with a light or you needed to use it as a hazard cone.
Inside, this kit has pretty much everything you would need for a day or weekend on the trails. About the only thing I felt it was lacking is a CPR mask, but you can make do with a glove with the finger cut out. The kit came with pretty much everything one would need, including aspirin and ibuprofen. Since we were going to be on the trails all day, I added some Immodium (for obvious reasons) and some additional Advil and Tylenol. I also added some a few extra band-aids and a rubber strap (for tournicut or sling usage). If we were going to be gone longer, I might consider adding some cipro or some other kind of antibiotic. Keep in mind that if you are primarily out hunting, you may wish to consider the Adventure Medical Kits Hunter Kit, which includes supplies for hanlding gunshot wounds. While this kit is NOT the pinnacle of all medical kits, it will address 90% of all things you might want. A few minor additions, such as a small pocket knife, an emergency thermal blanket, a whistle, an instant cold compress, and perhaps Polar Pure Water Disinfectant would round it out nicely. You should be able to fit most of those items in this kit. If your trip will last longer than 2-3 days or your group is larger than 5-7 people, you may wish to consider the Adventure Medical Kits Outfitter. It is more bulky, but much more comprehensive.
As for the accompanying First Aid guide (Comprehensive Guide to Wilderness & Travel Medicine), I found it to be FIRST CLASS. In fact, it has gotten many positive reviews itself . It is well-organized and structured, and would make it easy to determine the proper course of treatment for almost any situation. The guide alone is worth half the price of this kit.
Overall, I highly recommend the Adventure Medical Sportsman kit! The price is well worth what you get, in both content and peace of mind.

I purchased this emergency first aid kit specifically for my 72 hr backpack. I would say that the type of supplies included is enough for most basic to moderate injuries requiring wound care. I definitely would not turn to this kit expecting to treat severe trauma wounds. The nice thing about this kit is that there is still room to add a few more supplies to your liking. I was able to add a pack of Quickclot and an Israeli Battle Dressing.Motorcycle Operator First Aid Kit by Rescue Essentials
It is too big for under seat storage, and a real first aid kit bag (not a Ziploc) to keep it all in would be nice, but I would buy another one of these if I ever had to. I just hope I never have to use it.Luckily, I have not had to use it. But I felt a little bit better on a long trip having some kind of first aid kit and this seemed perfect. A lot of quality items in it and necessary items in case anything should go wrong.

As an emergency responder and CNA, I will say the contents of this kit are decent. However, in my opinion, it is priced far too high for what you get and worst of all, it DOES NOT come with a case (only a ziplock bag). That was not really clear in the advertisement ... so for $56 plus dollars, I was disappointed and I think you can do much better. I would recommend you go for the First Aid Tactical Trauma Kit instead (which I bought for my SUV) well equipped with a compact and sturdy case, and something whose contents as a CNA I think I could use to respond to an accident. I had to go to Wal mart to get something to put all the components in for this (Motorcycle Operator First Aid Kit)!!Read Best Reviews of Motorcycle Operator First Aid Kit by Rescue Essentials Here

For the past three years, I've gotten chigger bites while doing volunteer gardening at my favorite local park.I probably have 15 or 20 bites and they have been driving me nuts.
When I have a mosquito bite, it stops itching in 15 minutes. These itch on for weeks and they like to bite you in unpleasant places.
where your skin is thin... backs of knees are favorites.
I found a site that had 23 PAGES of home remedies. some of the substances which people claimed help them were tea tree oil and witch hazel. This has both, plus a lot of other stuff.
I picked up a tube at Whole Foods and I'm happy to report it actually works quite well.
It takes away the itching at least twice as long as Cortaid.
It is now possible to sleep again.
Adventure Medical Kits Smart Travel First Aid Kit
* Nice packaging I really like the case that comes with this kit. Unlike some hard cases in which first aid kits come packaged, this one has a soft-sided and zippered case that opens to reveal separate compartments holding the items. It even comes with a handy hook that you can use to hang it wherever. Nice touch. The case doesn't seem to be especially heavy duty, but does appear to be reasonably well made.
* In addition to medicines for pain and fever, the kit also contains antihistamines, antidiarrheals and antacids to take care of your stomach, critical when you are away from home.
* The kit also has a small set of tweezers to take care of splinters, and moleskin to soothe blisters from a day out walking.
* A decent set of adhesive strips and bandages are also included.
* The kit comes with a book full of useful medical advice that seems to be well organized and informative. There's no replacing training and education in an emergency, though; the book is good and handy, but you don't want to be referring to it for critical first aid information when you are stressed out and in the middle of an emergency.
The expiration dates of the medicines that came with the kit had about a year left on them, at the earliest. You should always check these, however, and make regular rotations of fresh medicine a habit for any perishable medical supplies and first aid kits.
While well-appointed, this kit isn't totally stuffed, so there is a little bit of room to add some of your own things, like prescription meds or additions of things you think you may need that are not already in the kit.
I use this particular kit for domestic and foreign travel and as part of our car's emergency kit. The size is good for a couple of people for a couple to a few days and doesn't take up too much space in luggage about the size of a small-to-medium toiletry bag. I have other medical kits for camping and backpacking that are better suited to the space and weight needs of these specialized activities.
Good kit!I took this kit to SE Asia on a 3 week trip. The kit came in very handy for headaches, stomach issues and lots of gauze taping and splinting as my brother broke his finger in Laos. The thermometers also came in handy when he thought that he had a fever. I will be taking this with me on all of my travels in the future.
One small note... the drug packets are printed very small and some of the names are unfamiliar, so I recommend that you look up the drugs before you go and write on the packets what they are for.

Johnson & Johnson Red Cross Tough Pads (Hydrocolloid Adhesive Pads), 2.8 Inch x 2.4 Inch, 4 Count
Though this is a review for the larger pad, the rest pretty much do one thing right: they minimize immediate and eliminate long term healing pain. With scrapes that go beyond the superficial dermis layer, I noticed a problem: white blood cells would seep out to fight infection, though there was no scab to allow it to do its job. Instead of the scrapes drying out, they would just ooze white blood cells for days...
Thankfully with this, it acts as an artificial scab that is flexible and will never crack under any condition. The cushion it provides when the adhesive comes in contact with fluids from the wound is indispensable. Ive noticed healing time is shorter than with traditional bandages and if you wait long enough to remove the bandage, it will almost seem as though a miracle had transpired: the cut or scrape has disappeared!
I am writing this after a tumble I had while I was snowboarding. The pain from the scrape was pretty bad and I was sure it would leave a gnarly scar but after having changed the bandage, I'm confident there will be no scar. The best part is if disinfected properly, scrapes that would otherwise be susceptible to infection are completely protected from external bacteria. Advanced healing bandages are a product I will keep in my medicine cabinet for the rest of my life.I had never used these until a week ago. I had to buy new boots for my uniform and they tore up my heels pretty bad. I went straight to the nearest drug store and bought everything they had for blisters, including these Band-aids. these were the last ones I tried because I didn't think they looked like they had enough padding. I was SO wrong! These are BRILLIANT!!!! They act like natural skin, and absorb any bodily fluids to create a padding like a real blister would, but these don't hurt. The who9le surface is adhesive, which worried me a bit, but it's not sticky to the point it hurts to remove. I was so impressed and pleased with this product, i went out and bought another 4 boxes for any future boo-boos :)
These are the new staple to my medicine cabinet, replacing all the other band-aid things i used to buy.
THESE ARE AWESOME!!!!! I love these patches.
A couple of years ago, I fell on my concrete backdoor steps. I ended up with a hole just below my knee. All the skin was stripped off of an area about an inch and a half in diameter. The wound was more than 1/16 of an inch deep. There was no skin left. I am an older woman, and diabetic, so I had quite a bit of concern about infection and healing. I cleaned my wound thoroughly, and applied one of these patches. Abut 4 or 5 days later, I removed the patch to see how it was doing, and was very surprised to see that the wound was granulating in from the edges, and was very clean. I applied another bandage, and again left it on for several days. I did this about 3 to 4 times. Today, there is no sign of the injury except a slightly paler area of soft skin. There was no infection, and no scaring. Although what is there is considered a scar, there is no apparent difference in texture from the neighboring skin. I have used these patches in other instances, though not as serious, and have had the same results. I think they are an outstanding product, and well worth the price. And the price here, was very reasonable.I became a fan of hydrocolloid-type bandages after picking up a random pack on sale at a local drug store. These types of bandages form a barrier around the wound and also suck up some of the moisture released by the body (hereto referred to as "ick") forming a moisturizing gel which helps naturally heal the wound. Put simply the bandages have a substance in them which reacts to your body's "ick" (usually called "exudate" in the medical world) and forms a gel which helps keep the area moist. This moist environment allows the body to heal more quickly than an open-air wound which requires the body to form scabs and other "temporary" scar tissues.
The upside? These types of bandages usually help the wound heal more quickly than traditional bandages and also generally reduces any scarring (not completely, but less than if not used).
The downside? Well, they're generally really expensive sometimes costing a dollar or more per bandage.
That's why I like the Johnson & Johnson Tough Pads. The pads included in the box are 3" x 2.25" and are very easily cut down into smaller dressings. Whenever I use these bandages I generally find that I do not need the whole giant pad and the problem with "blister bandages" like the other manufacturers make is that there's a lot of wasted bandage used to wrap around the wound area that's really not required.
There are a few things to keep in mind with any type of hydrocolloid bandage:
1 If it's a bleeder (or a weeper), these probably won't work. Basically the moisture will "overload" the gel and make the whole bandage non-stick, eventually just peeling off.
2 They generally won't work on a super-active spot compared to something like a "heavy duty" bandage. The adhesive will most likely peel off and once the initial "stick" is broken, these don't really re-stick very well.
3 They're very, very noticeable. The bandage starts out a bandage-y type of pink/tan color, but the area over the wound generally turns a shade of white and then blows up like a small bubble (and it's squishy... you'll probably end up poking at it because it's neat). Unfortunately if you're going for subtlety, these aren't the best choice.
Once you try a hydrocolloid bandage, you probably will never want to use a normal bandage ever again. When that becomes the case, I highly recommend these Tough Pads for the sheer economic value they represent. This works great on cuts and scrapes that are not deep. You just put it on and go about your everyday chores. I changed mine after four days and by then the wound was healed. You can wash dishes, take a shower, etc and the wound is protected. I just love it for minor cuts. But the directions say do not use on deep puncture wounds.

Manual Suction Pump Medsource International
As for its function, if an entire seal at the tip of the tube is created when suctioning, then you may see some suction created, otherwise it does not do much of anything at all. And in order to create any measurable suction at all, you would have to keep pumping fast (pressing and releasing the movable arm of the suction pump unit) to sustain the suction, which is not easy, especially if the operator is an elderly individual. I recommend not wasting your money on this product and getting an electric powered one where the suction is real, more powerful, and is generated a lot faster without suffering from operator fatigue.I purchased this item to remove excess mucus from my throat, the result of surgery from throat cancer. It would pick up a little bit but never met my expectations as a thorough device. Perhaps the EMT's toward whom this is marketed have better success.

I ordered two of these devices for our medical unit, and both of them could not generate noticeable suction. Once device seemed to generate a tiny amount of suction (but nowhere near enough to pull liquid or solids out of a patient, up the tube and into the holding cup) but the other one seemed to be unable to generate any suction. It's a great idea for portable, manually powered suction that can be carried in an ALS jump kit or airway bag, but this device will not meet your needs. Avoid. Its hard to hold it at the right angle doing it yourself. I would like a battery operated one this size.

I can say without a doubt, these things are the best. They will cut through anything you'll ever need in a trauma. Any piece of clothing is destroyed by these babies. It will cut through jeans, double layers of clothes, and even belts (sorry whoever's belt I destroyed). I've been using them for about a year now without any noticeable drop in performance. I've let people borrow them and each is amazed at how great they are. I just made sure that they gave them back!
They look nice too. All black. A real eye catcher. Throw this in with your all black Littmann stethoscope, and you'll be styling in the trauma hall. People may gripe that they are $13. That is a little pricey for trauma shears. But I feel they are well worth it. You won't be buying a new set any time soon.

I had an old role of transparent tape from work hooked on my hemostat; it probably has a lot of MRSA/VRE on it by now, so I gave the scissors a try and, as the video shows it can cut through about a 1/4" of tape. It wasn't too hard; I know my meat scissor would not do that. My first video was of the first cut through the role, but it was too shaky so I propped my phone up this time, hope it turned out ok. I'm satisfied with them, but would not pay full price.I am a Paramedic working on an ALS ambulance. I respond to approximately 1,200 911 calls annually. These shears feel a bit cheap and certainly did not last any longer or cut any better than any other knockoff or cheap brand I have used in the past 7 years of working in EMS. Those include the ones that were provided for free by a private ambulance service at the start of my career (read cheap!). You'd think from reading the other reviews that these shears were Paramedic's gifts to Paramedics. Yes, they cut...yes, they look cool (even the EMT firefighters get all excited to see/borrow them..Oh Boy!). No, they do not last longer or do the job better than any of the other cheaper brands I've used over the years. Save yourself some dollars and buy a cheaper pair.
