This item has a great texture and the gel has a very firm consistency. The cover/shell is also thick, firm yet flexible. The seal, however, failed in less than a year and the gel pack is now leaking. Not happy about durability but in all other respects this is a product well-suited for its stated purpose, at least as far as cold therapy. I've never used it for heat therapy.
