WoundSeal Powder for Nosebleeds, 4 ea

WoundSeal Powder for Nosebleeds, 4 eaOn the Tuesday before last, I suddenly developed a nosebleed. And while in my youth I had many nosebleeds and knew how to handle them this one was different because I am now taking xarelto, an anti-coagulant which performs the same function as warfarin. So whereas using the usual pressure tricks of squeezing the nostrils or of pushing a folded-up paper towel pressed up between my upper lip and gum would quickly stop earlier nosebleeds, they did nothing with the xarelto in my system. And after holding off from dialing 911 for 30 minutes I finally gave in when the blood was overfowing into my throat to the point where I began to choke.

The paramedics arrived with a plastic clamp which was like a super clothes-pin. It stopped the flow and I decided to waive them off from taking me to the ER as they said it would stop the flow if I left it in place for 15 minutes. But when I removed it at 20 minutes, it began to flow again. Leaving it on for an hour left my blood STILL ready to flow. Finally, after leaving it on for 2 increasingly painful hours i was able at 3AM to remove the clamp and gingerly slide into bed.

But I had used my waiting time to look for a better remedy in the event of a reoccurrence, and I settled upon Woundseal Powder for Nosebeleeds. I had the stuff shipped via 2-Day shipping using my Prime membership, and it arrived Friday morning. Friday night at about 9:00pm I had a second gushing nosebleed. Within 15 minutes, most involving fumbling about and reading directions, use of this nosebleed kit had my nosebleed stopped WITHOUT needing even to use the clamp the paramedics had given me.

That should be enough to convince anyone that this is a highly cost-effective tool. For those of you taking anticoagulants, it could be lifesaving because unlike some of the other bleeding 'cures' offered by other products, Woundseal does not rely upon amping up YOUR own anti-coagulation system to work. Rather, it is an artificial, exterior anticoagulant which operates independently of your system. So it was almost magical to find when I had dabbed some of this stuff deeply into my nostril, held it there a few moments and could feel the flow of blood diminish and then stop. It did leave that nostriul somewhat clogged for about 36 hours. Perhaps I could have blown my nose and cleared it but i wasn't anxious to find out if it would work. And by mid-day Sunday of this past week (2 days) the stuff just sort of fell out of my nose and my nostril felt very clear.

Two days after that, I saw my primary care doctor. He looked into my nostril with a scope after I told him my story and he was surprised to see no sign of recent scarring or whatever it is that they spot in there!

Woundseal (aka Nosebleeds QR)is a terrific products. I suffer from nosebleeds in the winter and since I'm on blood thinners they are hard to stop. Woundseal does it in 30 seconds everytime. This is my go to product when the nosebleeds start.

While on vacation in the mountains, my husband suffered a nosebleed that he couldn't stop. Another man staying at our bed and breakfast offered him an envelope of Wound Seal. Wow! It stopped the nosebleed right away and allowed us to continue on. So glad we were able to find it online at Amazon! He's already had another occasion when he needed it--again in mountains. He's putting it in his overnight case for emergencies like this. Nosebleeds are rare, but when they happen, they can be stopped easily with WoundSeal.

I bought this for my elderly mother who has frequent nosebleeds because of long term Coumadin (blood thinner) use. One time in the emergency room they used a similar product and it worked well so they suggested that I buy this because it is available over the counter without a prescription and it is safe for the elderly and for people on Coumadin. I also checked with her doctor before purchasing.

My mother has used it twice at home and it works well. It does burn when you first apply the powder to your nose but she has had good results both times and she says the burning sensation does not last long and the result is worth the temporary burning. Very easy to use and it comes in individual packets so you can have one with you at all times.

I give it 4 stars because it should always be bought with caution, knowing the individual's own health history but for temporary and fast relief it seems to work well.
