CELOX Trauma Gauze

Did some research and this looks like a great product. I wanted some for my camping/mountain biking young adult kids, especially after they paid a trip to an emergency room. The product came quickly and as described except......... product has a 3 year shelf life when new and this one had about 19 months left on it. Since it wasn't a discounted price I expected better. The kids were about to leave for their first trip of the year so I didn't have time to send it back for replacement.

As always, Amazon made the effort to satisfy the customer and gave me a moderate credit back to my credit card which I'm happy with.

Problem is I wanted to order some more for emergency kits for the cars and can't be sure I'll get new(isn) product. I really wish Amazon would require vendors to publish expiration or "born on" dates for perishable products. That would save some angst.

I feel this is way overpriced for what you get. But when it's needed it's worth every penny. It's also smaller than it looks in the pictures, about the size of a 4" webril.

I am a certified first responder. Celox is a critical component of your first aid and first responder kit. It will stop horrid bleeds that you would have difficulty stopping without a tourniqut, and you cannot put a tourniquet everywhere. Therefore, you must have at least one roll of this stuff with you all the time even if you only intend on saving your own life with it.

Ordered in 12/12. Expiration date is 1/15. Package intact. We hope to never need this, but do have frequent trips off grid, and is nice to have in or med kit. We will probably order another in 6 mo to a year, so we have 2, but the dates are staggered. One is good for now.
