Arctic Ease Cryotherapy Wrap 4 Inch X 60 Inch

Arctic Ease Cryotherapy Wrap 4 Inch X 60 InchCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have an angry rotator cuff so I ice it a lot, but it can be a challenge getting the ice packs to stay in position while I try to wrap an ace bandage around them with one hand. This wrap is much easier to use and clings to the skin so, unlike ice packs which tend to gape when bent, the cold actually connects with my entire shoulder. I toss it in the refrigerator between uses so it gets colder, but you can also throw it in a gym bag and even though it's stored at room temperature it gets cold when you use it.

The downside is that its fabric is embedded with this really odd-feeling gel. The gel tends to slough off as you wrap so you have to be careful where you use it. I made the mistake of wrapping my shoulder while I was sitting on the sofa. As I got up I realized the sofa was now dotted with little wads of what looked like clear snot. I was able to clean it up and thankfully it didn't seem to stain. The gel is what makes it cold, so I'm also concerned that as it flakes off the wrap will become increasingly less effective. The other downside is that it says in the directions that you need to make sure that a certain side of the wrap is against your skin, but there are no markings to provide a visual clue so you know which side is the right side. I have no idea if I'm using it on the correct side and there's no way to tell but it does seem to be working. I flip it over once in a while and it seems to work on the other side as well so I really don't know if it matters.

Some reviewers complained that it doesn't get cold enough when I use it at home I wrap an ice pack over it. This may seem redundant but it's actually quite effective the wrap clings to the skin around my shoulder in a way that ice packs never do, so the combo provides excellent coverage while keeping my shoulder really cold for a longer period of time.

The bottom line is that if you need a reusable ice pack that you can use at room temperature for bike trips, runs, hiking trips, etc., this is definitely an excellent choice. If you are using it mostly at home, as I do, it's a nice add-on and can make your ice treatment more effective, but its not a necessity.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I hate using ice because it's really cold. This product is kind of magical -you just

open up the package and wrap it around your knee or other part, and it is cool, and stays

that way for a long time. No ice to soak, nothing to put back in the freezer. Afterward

just wind it up and put it back in its package (or a baggie) with a little water, and it is ready to go again in a few hours. No frozen parts. I think this would be great for cooling off when overheated, too, perhaps on the back of the neck for a few minutes. It would be very convenient for travel, as it's small and light and no refrigeration is needed. There's even enough to use on two joints at once. I was a little worried by the description on the package, which made it sound like one of those products advertised on late-night TV, and the description and directions could be better. But once it's open it's completely obvious what to do.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The best thing about this muscle wrap is that you can open it up and use it right away. It is already cold, without the necessity of freezing it first. And it wraps easily around arms, legs, etc...wherever you need it.

After its coolness wears off, you just put it back into its pouch, add two tablespoons of water and seal it up. In a few hours, it's ready to be used again, all nice and cool without ever having to go into a refrigerator. I take this in my backpack or in the car when going on an extended road trip. Make a great addition to your portable first aid kit.

So far, I've used it four or five times and it still works well.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have my son carry this during football practice. The packaging instructs the owner not to freeze this product; just put it in its sleeve with a little water in the fridge. One might think that this wouldn't work, but it does. There is an elasticity that helps with compression, and the wrap does stay pretty cold for a good period of time. Not for as long as one might want, but probably for a good hour or so. The fact that it can be used in place of bags of ice (which are messy) is a plus. My son had used this a couple of times. The biggest drawback is the wrap will not stick to itself very well; if someone wanted to walk around or stand up while wearing it, they would need an additional elastic bandage to wrap over the top of this.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I agree with the reviewer who says: Weird, but effective!

I find this product weird because of the "slimey" feeling when applying, but since the slime was easy to remove from my skin, that is definitely not a minus! I do recommend that you apply it while wearing old clothing...just in case it should accidentally harm your garment. Not a likely scenario; simply a precaution that makes common sense. After all, one doesn't wear silk and lace to a hockey match, so... :-)

The main feature I like about Arctic Ease Cryotherapy Wrap 4 Inch X 60 Inch is that it requires no pre-cooling and is usable straight from the resealable pouch. The fact that it's easy to use, stays cold and lasts for hours are other pluses. For full features check the Amazon page description, but another thing that helped make my buying decision is that this product is biodegradable. "Green" is good! "Green" is safe!

I deducted one star because the type font on the package instructions is too small to read easily. I thought I had read that you do NOT store it in the freezer, but I couldn't find that on the package. That sent me back to the Amazon product page (which was a nuisance since I had the product in my hand) to find the info I needed. Some other buyers had the same problem, so let me repeat it here: For reuse, place the wrap back into the resealable pouch, add 1-2 tablespoons of water and place back in the cupboard until next use. Store pouch at room temperature or in the refrigerator for enhanced cooling.

Easy-peasey... It does help ease pain in an effortless manner.

Highly recommended.
