First Response® Early Result Pregnancy Test

First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test, 3 tests, Packaging May VaryI know the box says you can get a positive up to 5 days before your missed period, but everyone needs to understand that you CANNOT get a positive until after implantation occurs. This might happen early... but it also might not. Read the directions and the percentage of women who actually get a positive 5 or even 4 days early. I didn't get a positive with my son until AFTER I was a day late and with my daughter it was only 1 day early.

I bought these tests because most of the reviews and the manufacturer themselves claim that they are "the most sensitive on the market." I have to COMPLETELY disagree. I took this test a day before my missed period (NEGATIVE), the day of my missed period (NEGATIVE), two days after my missed period (NEGATIVE), and three days after my missed period (NEGATIVE).

I'm already a mom and have been pregnant before, and suspecting that I indeed was again, I decided to try a different test, E.P.T, on the third day of my missed period (immediately after I got the negative from the First Response). I got a VERY faint plus sign using the E.P.T., but a plus sign nonetheless (POSITIVE). To confirm, I tested the next morning with two other brands (ClearBlue and Generic), and also got positive results (this time much clearer and more obvious). For kicks, I tested with another First Response at the same time as I tested with the ClearBlue and Generic, and was appalled to see that it was still negative and obviously incorrect at this point.

I am fairly well educated on the subject of pregnancy and pregnancy testing, and I know all about implantation and the reasons why a pregnancy test can be negative for a few days after a missed period before it turns positive. I understand that first of the morning urine has the highest levels of HCG, and always made sure to test first thing in the morning. What I will never understand is why a test that is supposed to be so "ultra sensitive" didn't pick up on my pregnancy when literally every other test did. I finally got the FAINTEST positive on the First Response when I used the last test I had this morning, 5 days past my expected period. Bizarre.

I'm just glad that there are other brands out there that could easily confirm my suspicions, despite spending a small fortune on pregnancy tests. :-)

I missed my period & tried First Response Pregnancy Test. What showed is a very faint pink line which the instructions said is POSITIVE! I went to the doc who took my urine test & the doc said it's negative. I thought this product [stinks]. But then I still didn't have my period so after 3 days my doc took my urine sample again & took my blood and yup! I'm really POSITIVE! That means this First Response Pregnancy Test really works! It beats my doc's pregnancy tests!

These used to be my gold standard. I'm an infertility patient and have taken a test or two or 18374627462 in my lifetime. If I was not pregnant, they were stark white. Painfully white. 1 hour, 2 hours, 10 weeks later, the test is still white.

They must have changed the test. I'll tell you why.

I tested 4 days before my period (11dpo). It was negative, but a few minutes after the allotted time, there was a faint line. I knew better than to believe that was a positive, but being FRER, who've never had evap lines, I was a little excited. I tested again a few hours later. Same thing. The next day, I tested with a NEW box, that I had on hand from a previous cycle.

The line was pink in the allotted time!!! I was thrilled!!!!

I had a beta drawn two hours later, and it was

Omnifix Latex-Free Non-Woven Dressing Retention Tape - 2" x 10 yds, 24 rolls per case

Omnifix Latex-Free Non-Woven Dressing Retention Tape - 2' x 10 yds, 24 rolls per caseI love this tape! We ordered it because we have two growing Great Dane puppies that have to have their ears taped every few days so they'll stand. I've used sport tape, paper tape, all sorts of tape trying to get it right, and nothing has worked near thsi well. It breaths well and flexes so it won't cut off circulation. There have been a couple times we've had to use it for medical purposes too, and it lived up to my now very high expectations.

The only drawback I found was that if you're not careful when you're pealing the backing or applying it, it will fold and stick to itself. Once it sticks to itself, that piece is done. Just be careful with it and you'll be fine.

Shipping was quick, no complaints about the seller.

All in all, highly recommended!

Band-aid Brand Adhesive Bandages Activ-Flex Regular, 10 Count Box

Band-aid Brand Adhesive Bandages Activ-Flex Regular, 10 Count BoxI am an avid outdoors person. Once when I was riding my bicycle I fell, hit the asphalt, hard, and scraped up both elbows and a knee. We stopped at a local drugstore where a friend ran in and purchased Band-Aid Advanced Healing band-aids, liquid Band-Aid, regular Band-Aids and Bactine. I used the Liquid Band-Aid on one elbow and the Advanced Healing on the other and the knee. The liquid Band-Aid was awful... it burned going on and later it cracked open again. In contrast to the liquid or even a regular Band-Aid the Advanced Healing Band-Aid stayed on (must follow package directions for best results) AND even better yet when I removed the band-aid 3 days later (as the package suggests) I had NEW skin underneath no scab! Needless to say the Advanced Healing product resulted in quicker healing and no scar. The catch is you need to use these as soon as you get the scrape and they work best for scrapes/harsh abrasions (like skinned knees, etc.) rather than cuts I think. If the cut were to have already been forming a scab I don't think I would have achieved the same good results. A must for children (if you can get them not to pick the Band-Aid off ;-) Drawbacks must use right awy, size may not cover entire wound, can be trickier than a regular band-aid to apply correctly until you do it a couple of times.

I first came into contact with this type of product in New Zealand on a trek over the Milford Track. I had a blister on my foot and the professional guide used a product from Germany named "Compeed" that was amazing. I believe this Johnson & Johnson product is the American licensee of this technology. In summary, this is no temporary wound covering made up of a strip of self-adhesive and a sterile cotton pad that makes contact with the wound. Instead, it is an advanced material without pad that covers the wound, completely, to seal out germs, moisture, dirt, etc. Meanwhile, moisture from the wound is held in and absorbed/controlled by the man-made material. It acts like an artificial scab and is meant to stay in place until full healing has completed.

It is a thermoplastic material meaning it takes the shape of the body due to the warmth of the body. Read and use the directions for correct use to maximize the benefits built into this product.

I used to do a lot of building projects and as a lefty hold a hammer incorrectly, resulting in many painful blisters on my fingers and hand. These are AMAZING. They make some specifically for blisters, same product though. They make it so a blister doesn't hurt to rub against and heal it much quicker (since its covered, moist underneath and not getting messed with.

Only drawback is yes, you have to put them on correctly and it will be stuck to you for days. If you try and remove it too soon, the part of the band-aid that touches the wound is sticky like the adhesive part and WILL stick to your blister/wound (ouch!) so leave it alone, but these are wonderful and I'd recommend them to anyone.

These are the best bandages on the market period. They act as a "second skin" and are protective, waterproof and allow the wound to both stay moist and breathe. I have excema (extremely dry skin) on my hands and get regular (and painful) splits on my fingers. I put these bandages on and the cut is protected, pain-free and healed over in just a couple days.

Only cons are that the adhesive starts to wear after a couple days and the glue peels off around the edges. Not a big deal as it's probably time to take it off anyway. You also have to make sure that the skin is *completely dry* when you put the band-aid on or it won't adhere right. That's a pain, considering how few you get in a box, but once you get the technique down, these are a finger cut's best friend.

La Bella Styling Gel Frizz Control, 40 Ounce

La Bella Styling Gel Frizz Control, 40 OunceI've tried them all, KMS, Joyco, LA Looks, the list goes on

From cheap to expensive, I've tried everything under the sun

But one thing is for sure, I always come back to the one

La Bella Gel, it's second to none.

Like I said, I've tried most gels, from Axe, KMS, Joyco Ice, etc. However, over my years of experience this is the best gel. It's cheap, they give you a LOT, it holds really well, and it does NOT flake. What more can you ask? The only thing is that unless you get free shipping, the gel will cost you, but if you can get it for free shipping, then it's the best gel out there, second to none.

Schick Schick Quattro For Women Razor

Schick Quattro For Women RazorI love this razor. A friend convinced me to try it. I have tried every other razor I could find in the stores and every type of shaving cream/gel for years and every single time I shaved my legs, they itched like crazy afterwards. I tried lots of different things after shaving too, and they still itched. Ever since I got this razor, my legs don't itch at all! I'm so happy :)

Also, the shave is really close. If I shaved early in the morning, by late that afternoon, it would feel like I needed to shave again. With this razor, my legs feel smooth for a couple of days. You can still see the hair starting to grow back the next day (really pale skin, dark hair), but they feel smooth. I shaved 4 days ago and it looks like I shaved two days ago. This razor is great!

Reading magazines in the tub alerts me to all the personal care products I'd love to try. This particular razor was featured with a few other razors and sounded like the ultimate razor for women. Well, it honestly is superior to anything I've tried so far and it is the first four-blade razor to touch my legs.

Yes, you really can skip a day here and there due to the supremely close shave. The smooth lime moisture strip helps the blades to slide gracefully over your most delicate skin and there are four tiny strips of wire over the blades that create a protective environment. The artistically designed fuchsia rubber grip on the metal handle (the weight is still light, but heavy enough to make it more stable) encourages precise control and it doesn't slip out of your hand. The shower hanger is a true bonus and attaches easily to the shower wall with a suction cup.

This item has one razor, one shower hanger and an extra blade.

Results: Smoother legs than ever before! Lasts at least two days. No cuts or razor irritation. No scraping feeling

across your skin.

Comfort: Superior comfort while shaving. Slides over knees with ease and never irritates sensitive skin. This razor glides across your skin like silk on satin and truly delivers on its high performance guarantee.

I too thought the Gillette 3 was great until I tried the quattro for women. The width is fine wider and it might not get around the bones so smoothly. No nicks or cuts. I've been using the blade for a couple of weeks now and it's still super sharp and easy to shave. Underarms and legs I love it!

I was first attracted to this razor because of the microfine wires around the blades, making it less likely to nick the skin. After using it, I am so impressed with the closeness of the shave that the four blades give! I used to use the Schick Silk Effects (also with the microfine wires but only two blades), but the Quattro is much better. I also like the rubber pad in front of the blades--it makes the hairs stand up before the blades cut them. The handle is comfortably contoured and easy to grip. The metal and rubber construction gives a solid feel to the razor. My only beef is the width of the razor head, which is too small in my opinion and therefore requires more strokes to complete shaving.

I bought this for my wife since she needed a new razor and I heard two women at the store talking about this.

It makes other razors seem like toys. Seriously, pick up the Venus and pick up this. It's no comparison.

She loves the metal handle and the shave is smooth and quick. I've even used it in a pinch a few times...please don't tell her :)

New-Skin Liquid Bandage, First Aid Antiseptic Spray (over 40 Applications), 1-Ounce Sprays (Pack of

New-Skin Liquid Bandage, First Aid Antiseptic Spray, 1-Ounce SpraysAs of this writing, I have a small cut/crack on the skin of my finger, in an area where normal bandages don't stay on very well due to flexing and rubbing. So I thought I'd try using a spray bandage, and this was the product I decided on.

The good news is that it actually works pretty well. The bandage has helped to hold the wound closed, and has actually helped prevent the skin underneath from drying out, part of the reason why it cracked to begin with. After a day, it's still in place and seems pretty durable. It's completely transparent, which might be nice or might be a downside if the wound is unpleasant to look at. Functionally, it seems to live up to its advertising pretty well.

I'd really recommend the product, except for the one little detail about actually applying it to damaged skin. I washed and dried my hand carefully, and then within about a second of spraying it on, I was enduring a searing agony I have not before experienced from a consumer first-aid product. While gritting my teeth like an epileptic, I literally stared at my hand with my eyes wide open, almost chanting in a mantra to reassure myself that my finger was not actually being slowly hacked off with a pruning saw. This sensation gradually abated over a period of about 2 minutes. I sprayed on a second coat about an hour later thinking the first coat would protect me from a repeat of the experience, but of course I was wrong.

The packaging makes the claim that this product is useful "for larger areas" -a statement which given my experience with a small cut on my finger, reveals to me a level of unashamed sadism I can't readily comprehend.

One potential use for this -when doing really dirty or greasy work, it seems worth experimenting to see if this substance would allow for more easily or completely getting one's hands clean. Spray on rubber gloves if you will. I'm going to give that a shot tomorrow.

I cut my thumb on a mandoline slicing onions. A terrible cut, won't go into the horrid details, I probably should have gotten a stitch or two. Any way ... I used New-Skin spray on the cut the next day as I had it bandaged the first night tightly to stop the bleeding. I have NEVER had a cut heal so quickly. I was amazed!!! I burns like fire when you first put it on but the pain goes away quickly, so warn the children first. I put some on some scratches on my arm and they healed right away also. I love this product and will always keep some on hand.

Buy New-Skin Liquid Bandage, First Aid Antiseptic Spray (over 40 Applications), 1-Ounce Sprays (Pack of Now

Bought this to try on my dog, since conventional bandages fall off easily. Before I'd try this on my dog I thought I'd see how well it worked and had scratched my leg the day before. Simply put this is LIQUID FIRE, but I suppose the burning sensation is knowing that the cut is clean. It also does smell once applied but hardens pretty quickly and is difficult to remove once on. And I found it hard to apply without dripping, so an applicator would be a better choice. And after the trying it I ultimately decided not to use it on my dog. But it is a good thing to have in your bag when camping or those hard to bandage areas.

This is the most effective product that I've found to deal with the skin irritations and seepage caused by lymphedema in my legs. The creams and salves prescribed by doctors are absolutely worthless. The spray cans are tiny however and don't last long (the claim of 40 applications is very inflated). I usually get a couple of four-packs. PhysiciansCare Office First Aid Kit For 25 People, Contains 131 Pieces

PhysiciansCare Office First Aid Kit For 25 People, Contains 131 PiecesCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program To market this as a first-aid kit for 25 people is a bit audacious and potentially irresponsible. There is not enough in here to treat 25 people, unless they have nothing worse than a paper cut or a minor scrape.

Contents:

1 instant cold pack (disposable and non-reusable)

50 alcohol prep pads

50 adhesive bandages 3/4" x 3" (10 sheets of 5)

2 antibiotic packets

2 burn cream packets

10 latex gloves

1 pair of metal scissors

1 plastic tweezer

10 gauze pads

1 elastic bandage

1 roll of tape

This product is marketed by a company in CT called Acme United Corporation (all kit components made in China). Is this the same Acme corporation that sells items to Wile E. Coyote?

The manufacturer even dares to count the "handbook" and registration card as 2 separate items. The handbook is simply a single sheet of printed 8 1/2" x 14" paper folded over twice. The registration card tells you to go to their website to register. The box itself is plastic and of adequate thickness, but the latch is very flimsy. The tape is very poor quality and thin. It's not the fabric kind you might expect. It's thin cheap plastic and rips very easily. All the sports tape I see sold on Amazon is 1 1/2" wide. This one is 1/2" wide. It does not have enough surface area or cling to maintain adhesion to a wound area. It has about the same sticking power as a piece of Post-It notes. The cream packets are less than the size of a pack of restaurant ketchup.

The box is not compartmentalized or divided for proper organization of the items, so all the bandages and things just slosh around -wasting time rummaging through the contents, even if it's just a few extra seconds, is not good when someone is hurt. This kit is probably suitable to give to your child to play hospital with (minus the scissors), but not adequate for real world first aid use. Stay away from this item unless you love wasting money on substandard goods. Order something like this instead: First Aid Kit With Hard Case326 pcsFirst Aid Complete Care Kit Exceeds OSHA & ANSI Guidelines Ideal for the Workplace Disaster Preparedness (Color Red) or put together your own with common OTC items.

I would be more forgiving with the score if the product were just marketed as an ordinary personal first-aid kit, then it would probably be 3 stars instead of 1. But as is, the marketing claims and price versus reality warrant a 1 star review.

UPDATE: To say that this product "Meets or exceeds Federal OSHA Regulation 1910.151b" is also disingenuous. All 1910.151b compliance requires is that: "In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid. Adequate first aid supplies shall be readily available." It makes no specifications as to quantity of supplies, quality, or what items are necessary. How can you "exceed" a Yes/No test? You can only meet or fail to meet 1910.1510b. You cannot exceed it since it has no degrees of compliance.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Where to begin. The Physicians Care Office First Aid Kit For 25 People is not much more use than a box of band-aids, for 20-times the money. What you have here is a few dollars (at the most) worth of of first aid supplies packaged in a very cheap plastic case.

The Case......The case is an injection molded plastic box with molded plastic handle and latches. The latches are so poorly made that only one of them will engage and it just barely does. This is not a flaw in manufacturing, it's the way the box is designed. The handle is molded at the bottom of the box with two screw holes to mount on a wall. If you were to mount this on a wall, normal household vibration would eventually knock open the one closed latch and spill the contents.

The Contents......The contents of the box consist of four tiny sachets of creams, a tiny roll of tape, five pair of rubber gloves repackaged in ziplock bags, a stack of band-aids, a small box of alcohol wipes, a small elastic bandage, one very small instant cold ice pack, a few squares of gauze, a laughable pair of soft plastic tweezers right out of a toy doctor's kit and an almost equally lame pair of scissors.

A nearly identical First Aid kit by the same manufacturer is listed elsewhere on Amazon Physicians Care 25 Person First Aid Kit, Contains 113 Pieces for 1/6th the price. What's going on here guys? Floating a trial balloon to see if you can get away with it?

Normally, I don't consider price in a product review, but in this case it's necessary. I went through the "shelves" here at Amazon and within a few minutes found from 10 to 50 times the amount of the same items with professional tweezers, bandage scissors and a water tight tub to put it all in for less money. You should do the same

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The kit has 131 pieces the way that a box of 100 screws has 101 pieces (if you count the box as a piece. Fifty alcohol pads, ten latex gloves and fifty band-aids (gauze pads) does not 110 pieces make; and who would count the first aid booklet as a piece. Why not count the box and the cover and make it 132. If you brought this out at your kids soccer or baseball game, the other parents would think you were a cheapskate or a numbskull.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I happen to work in an office, where paper-cuts are a daily event and occasionally someone burns themselves on a toaster oven. We go through first Aid supplies like Oprah goes through SPANX Power Panties Shapewear. To say this kit is for 25 people? is just plain false, and hilarious.

To charge (at this time) $36 bucks for this? is internet highway robbery. Its a small kit, and when I received it the sticker on the front wasn't properly put on so it had giant air bubbles in it, so 10 points there for aesthetics. Open it up and its just all dumped in there, no pockets to organize, no compartments, just thrown in there. 131 Pieces..i only counted 128? Lets break that down:

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

Bottom line is this kit contains a lot of useful items, but they are of mediocre quality. Even the case is poorly made. However, it is better than no kit as everything is functional. I think fewer bulky items like gloves, and maybe some variety in bandages (like add some steri strips, etc), and better overall quality would help this product out a lot.

Contents:

The bandages have hardly any absorbent material, and the adhesive is marginal. There are 50 standard sized (3/4"x3") bandages.

Much of the kit is made up of bulky items. It includes 10 latex gloves (5 pairs), bagged in pairs. I wish they would say 5 pair instead, especially since they are bagged in pairs, but they want to get their piece count higher. I question the need for 5 pairs of latex gloves. I also question why they use latex gloves, when most of the other products are latex free.

The elastic bandage is a nice addition, and seems to be decent enough.

The medical tape is very easy (too easy) to tear and is not the cloth tape I am used to, but more like paper.

The gauze pads are very porous and stringy. Not the typical gauze pads I am used to seeing.

The case has a nice rubber gasket to make it appear leak resistant, but a small amount of water inside and it just pours right out around the gasket which doesn't seal properly.

The scissors crush paper more than they cut it.

The first aid "handbook" is actually a folded piece of paper, which doesn't even fit the definition of a book. It is a pamphlet.

The cold pack is a neat addition, but seems totally unnecessary and just adds a lot of bulk to the kit (along with the gloves). It does get ice cold though (one time use, disposable).

Expedition Medical Kit by Adventure Medical Kits

Expedition Medical Kit by Adventure Medical KitsGood kit compared to the usual bandaids and aspirin products. Has almost all the right items. I added a bottle of Betadine , suture kit , more OTC drugs like Tylenol and some Quickclot large bandages. If the bag had more room I'd put water , alcohol ,insect sting kit , snakebite kit and cold/warm packs plus water filter and signalling gear. I did add their trauma kit , dental kit and an extra surgical travellers kit but ran out of room. This is a medium level kit with a splint , matches and other nice extras. If they'd add a few of the items I did , put more of what is included or drop the price I'd be more inclined to buy again. You should lay everything out , inventory it and then add your extras by priority as you run out of room fast. The med evaluation forms could be left out for instance and add a big magnifying glass to see the first aid book plus start fires and..add a reliable flashlight. After ordering this item 4 times since mid-August, DAB says it is discontinued by the manufacturer and that they have not had time to remove it from their web page or on their Amazon storefront. Also I think you should be aware if they decide not to send one item of your order, they cancel the entire order. Frankly I'm surprised Amazon keeps them as a storefront. I also plan to write a formal letter of complaint to Amazon.

Adventure Medical Kits SOL Escape Bivvy

Adventure Medical Kits Survive Outdoors Longer Escape Bivvy, 8.5 OunceI've got 4. They do what they claim. I used it at 40 degrees and was comfortable with only jeans and a light nylon shell jacket. No significant condensation in my experience.

They seem to be marketing this as an ultralight alternative to a 1 or 2 season sleeping bag. I keep one in my daily travel bag that goes between job sites, along with a Klymit 9.1 oz inflatable pad. Those two items together form a complete indoor sleep setup that weighs a total of 1.1 lbs and fits in the corner of a day bag, for about $120 total. Wear a few extra layers for warmth, and use a light head cover in rain, and this item does the job in less than enjoyable outdoor conditions. I don't think there is any comparable option that is lighter or more compact. It 'feels' flimsy, but so far has stood up well to regular use.

EDIT: Used this on a damp night outside when temps dipped to 38 degrees. Things didn't go so well in this situation. I had a few additional bulky layers on to stay warm, so the fit was very tight. I managed to rip the draw cord while adjusting to find a comfortable position in the middle of the night. It's gonna be hard to repair since it broke all the way at the base of the cord. Going back and forth between a couple other bivy options, I really notice the lack of space in this product. I still like this item for indoor travel sleeping that's where it's destined to stay for me. I'll stick with tougher and bigger bivy bags for any real outdoor use. For a few ounces more, a bigger bag with an extra layer of sleeping clothes feels much more practical to me.

Used it for three night in wet conditions at 8000 feet slept warm and dry. I wore down jack and fleece pants inside plus thermal watch cap. Only problem is trying to keep water out of hood. Thats tricky. Its too small to,put an airmattress inside the bag so i slept on thermarest neoair with it benath me outside bag. The bag is sturdy fabric. The string that draws up the hood is flimsy. I replaced mine. Heat retention is good. No clammy feeling. Worth the $$$

Backpacked the Zion Narrows and packed the SOL escape bivvy instead of my usual sleeping bag. At 8oz, my friends were jealous of the light weight. We arrived at the campsite along the Virgin river with rain. I set up my Big Agnes fly creek UL1 tent, thermarest trekker pad, and unrolled the bivvy. I changed my wet clothes for a light fleece jacket and Smartwool long johns. After dinner I crawled into my tent and bivvy for well-deserved sleep.

I awoke later to more rain and cold, so slid further into the bivvy, zipped it all the way up and tightened the hood cord... ahhhh, nice and warm again. At 5'7", I fit perfectly in this bivvy with some room to spare. If I had expected less than 55-60 degree temps, I would have worn socks and a fleece hat or balaclava, which could take this down to a comfortable 45 degrees. The bivvy stayed dry, no condensation build up. As I moved around in my sleep, it was quiet and held in my body heat. As I warmed up and cooled down, I would zip or unzip as necessary.

I am careful with all my equipment, so I expect this bivvy to last a long time. It will be my go to on all 3-season backpacking trips. I have to wear warm clothes in camp anyway, so I might as well use them as a shell for sleeping in the bivvy. This is great for ultralight backpackers!

I also take it in my first-aid kit during day hikes.

Have only tried it in the living room fresh out of the box. I am 6'1" tall and 240 pounds non muscular build and this bag fits too snug. At the shoulders and waist it is snug with almost no room to move my arms or roll over. It will work as it is as an emergency bivvy for day hiking but I wish it had a size offering like "relax fit" pants for extra room. Otherwise it is ok.

This is my first experience with a bivvy. I brought it to put over my 35* bag to boost the rating a little as well as provide some protection from unexpected rain on a trip to Big Bend in early January.

I slept under a bottomless tarptent through a 1.5 inch rain in the mid 30s. By the early morning the ground was completly saturated and water had run under the sides of the tarp leaving me sleeping in about an inch of standing water which covered my foam mat. I was REALLY surprised that the bivvy was actually waterproof enough to keep me dry through that. It also breathes relatively well. You will get some condensation if you cocoon yourself up inside it so your exhaling into the bag but otherwise it was really great. I'm right at 6 feet tall about 170 lbs and it fit me well, Not too tight and the length was good. It's made of tyvek that has a metallic coating on the inside, Kinda soft but still crinkly. It feels like Tyvek that has been washed or crumpled several times.

It doesn't seem super sturdy but I didn't have any problems really. I had a small portion of the draw string cord channel come unstitched. It was easy to fix though.

The performance is good for the money (and weight) but i felt like it was a little flimsy. It will probably last me a couple of years then I'll just get a new one. You'd have to buy several of these to equal the price of a really nice bivvy. I thought it worked well for my uses.

SAM Splint 36" Rolled - Orange & Blue

SAM Splint 36' Rolled - Orange & BlueI had the opportunity to use one of these in the middle of an Alaskan glacier (Matanuska Glacier). I witnessed a hiker running along the glacier, catch his foot in a small crevasse, and snap both his tibia and fibula. I always carry some survival & first aid stuff when I'm hiking in AK, so I whipped out my SAM splint and some medical (gauze) tape. In no time at all, I had the victim's leg stabilized and he was prepped for an airlift off the glacier.

I highly recommend a couple different sizes of these for anyone who spends time out in the wilderness hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, etc. They're awesome!

A couple years ago some friends and I were out riding ATV's in the Alaska back country. We were in a very thorny area on a narrow trail and so we were just crawling along, and in a freak accident when my friend in front of me rode over a small fallen tree that was laying across the trail, it snapped and popped up and hit her in the lower leg so hard that it broke both bones clean in half. My friend's husband only had zip ties and was looking for some sticks to splint her leg, but I had a SAM splint and duct tape. We used the SAM splint to support her leg and the duct tape to wrap around the splint and her leg. The splint provided enough support that she rode out herself slowly instead of us having to call for a rescue. IMO everyone should carry a SAM splint in their medical kit.

I bought this to use as a splint for a neighbor's lamb that was born with crooked legs. There is really nothing on the market for lambs, only a few items for calves which would be way too big.

The splint is great. We were able to cut to length, bend as per directions and it really helped this little guy's legs straighten out. The foam covering reduced chaffing and I was amazed at how strong this splint becomes when folded/bent into splint shape. These can also be sanitized and reused which makes them a really good buy.

Good for animals and humans alike!

The SAM Splint is an excellent piece of first aid gear especially for those who are a long distance away from medical care such as hikers, backpackers, campers, hunters, fishermen, mountain bikers, kayakers, etc. The SAM Splint is designed to immobilize fractures of limbs so that the patient can safely be transported to appropriate medical care or until medical care can reach the patient.

The splint is made from a thin layer of aluminum alloy sandwiched between two layers of closed-cell foam for added protection and comfort. The splint is pliable but to get a proper fit it works best, for me, if you mold the splint around the injured limb as opposed to completely pre-forming the splint. You can do a little pre-forming by getting the approximate shape but don't expect a perfect fit. A little practice with the splint before an emergency will give you a good feel for the splint and what works best for you. Use extreme care to minimize any additional pain or further injury the patient may feel when applying the splint. Be ready for some patient discomfort which might get verbalized by the use of a few choice words, mean look, or loud grunting. Fractures can be very painful! Proper immobilization of a fracture is important to reduce pain or further injury of the limb especially if you are a long distance away from professional medical care.

It fastens in place with tape, wrap, bandanas or other improvised material. Be careful not to wrap the fracture too tight that it causes decreased blood perfusion or increased pain to the patient. It is waterproof so it will handle even the harshest of environments including extremely hot or cold temperatures. From the desert to the arctic this is an excellent piece of gear to have in your kit. Additionally, the splint can be cleaned and reused. It stores relatively small and is very lightweight for those who count ounces.

The splint is radiolucent so it is almost entirely invisible in x-ray photographs and under fluoroscopy. Depending on the situation this may allow medical professionals to x-ray the limb without first having to remove the splint.

I highly recommend the use of the SAM splint for stabilization of fractures when medical help is a long way off the trail. Yes, you can always improvise and make your own splint but generally they will not be applied as fast or be as comfortable as the SAM splint.

We train with these and use them in the military, and if there is one thing I can say about the military it is that everything we have has to be able to be quickly deployed and very easy to use in stressfull situations. This product should be in every first aid kit sold. I keep SAM splints in all three of my medical kits, home, auto (which I have used after witnessing an accident that resulted in a fractured arm), and my camping/survival pack. You may never have a use for a splint but in the event that you do a SAM splint far outweighs any temporary solutions that you can come up with.

Splinter Out Splinter Remover 20/box

Splinter Out Splinter Remover 20/boxI've had a load of splinters in my fingers and hands over the years, and have removed them using IV needles I bought on-line. Recently that method failed for a deep splinter and left a mess. While digging through a company first aid kit for a bandage I noticed these splinter removers. I tried one it came out on try #1. These are GREAT!!!!!!!!

The Splinterout splinter remover is awesome. It is like carrying a sterilized needle with you in a convenient slim package. I add several of these to the first aid kits in my cars, backpack and workshop. Hope that you never need to use this item, but if you do, you will appreciate the small amount that it costs.

Seller was very prompt and product was delivered as expected.

When you have a splinter that buried or hard to access this is the product you need. Stop hunting for a needle or your favorite pocket knife to try and remove the splinter....use one of these. Individually wrapped (sterile) flat 'surgical' steel lances that are easy to hold, have a razor sharp dagger point that works exceptionally well at helping you probe the skin to get at that splinter. Priced right, packaged well (they come in a clear plastic case so you can see them in your kit or cabinet...

These things are cool. I used to use needles to extract annoying splinters from my fingers but these work so much better. They're really pointy so you don't have to force them through your skin.

This really just is a small, sharp piece of sanitized metal, but they are amazing!

Special Pack of 5 HUMCO HOLDING GROUP, INC. CAMPHOR SPIRIT 2 oz

Special Pack of 5 HUMCO HOLDING GROUP, INC. CAMPHOR SPIRIT 2 ozI when have looked for Camphor Spirits in the local stores and cannot find it anymore, so I was THRILLED to find it here!! My entire family uses Camphor Spirits and have for many years. I use it when I first feel the onset of a cold sore coming on my lip, you know that first little tingling feeling you get the day before the sore actually pops out on your lip? Well, Camphor Spirits works FANTASTIC when applied to the outbreak site! It dries it up, most of the time, without ever even getting the outbreak visible!!! When I do have a visible outbreak, I continue to apply Camphor Spirits to the sore several times throughout the day and it dries it up much faster than any other product on the market being sold specifically for cold sores or herpes simplex virus. I LOVE this product !!!

Difficult to find, but is an old fashioned medication that works. It was awesome to be able to find it was still being manufactured.
