I believe I have been sold a knock off of the Young Living Oil Product. The label is different and the product smells strange, and when I received it it was wrapped very tacky and I need to know it's the real product!Young Living Essential Oil Lavender 15 Ml

I've got all kinds of tapes for applying gauze pads, but when you are looking after elderly patients who have lost their collagen layers and have paper thin fragile skin it is necessary to use paper tape. I discovered this tape while tending to my father's numerous leg sores that were a result of edema. Now I use when it when tending to the scrapes and cuts my mother sometimes gets working in the garden. It also seems to work well for myself, since I seem to have developed contact dermatitis--an allergic reaction to the adhesive in some surgical tapes.

Holds well on a clean surface, great for taping down the edge of KT tape. Dispenser is also a nice touch.

This paper tape is far superior to other paper tape we have tried. It sticks very well but is easy to remove and does not damage the skin even after repeated use over a long period of time. Highly recommended.

I bought this kit to put in my wifes car in the event of an emergency. As a graduate of the U.S. Army combat lifesaver course I can say that the kit contains the basics that could be used in the event of an emergency without having to have extensive medical training. My one complaint is that the kits are VERY cheaply made, the kit is made out of thin cheap nylon, with zippers that feel as though they could snap with a sturdy pull. Overall I would recommend the kit, but not the bag that it came in. Thank you for your time.

I got this kit as a mandatory requirement for my Kayak. It has the basics of first aid in it as well as a few other things that come in handy. The most important feature of this kit though, is the little first-aid book. This thing covers from A to Z in outdoor medicine. Worth the price just for the book alone. Everything else is just a bonus!

After much research, I picked up the Adventure Medical "Sportsman" first aid kit just prior to an ATV trip in the mountains of West Virginia. Last year I rolled my ATV, and another member of our party also had an injury. Fortunately, neither were serious. However, I realized that no-one had any form of first aid kit, which was foolish. Accidents DO happen, and it could have been MUCH worse. Though I am a former Red Cross-certified trail guide with first aid and CPR certifications, treatment recommendations have changed over the years and I have not kept up to date. Since no-one in my group was current on first aid or CPR, I needed both a first aid kit AND a guide.

Enter the Adventure Medical Kits Sportsman Kit. Foremost, the roughly 8x6" size of this kit (3.5" thick) was not as bulky as I anticipated. That was actually a good thing, because I did not have much room to spare and wanted to put it in my backpack. It was the perfect size for that. The nylon rip-stop construction of the bag is very durable, and the individual, labeled pockets inside keep everything well organized. The case has a reflective strip on the outside that would make it easy to locate in the dark, or to use as an identifier at night if someone were looking for you with a light or you needed to use it as a hazard cone.

Inside, this kit has pretty much everything you would need for a day or weekend on the trails. About the only thing I felt it was lacking is a CPR mask, but you can make do with a glove with the finger cut out. The kit came with pretty much everything one would need, including aspirin and ibuprofen. Since we were going to be on the trails all day, I added some Immodium (for obvious reasons) and some additional Advil and Tylenol. I also added some a few extra band-aids and a rubber strap (for tournicut or sling usage). If we were going to be gone longer, I might consider adding some cipro or some other kind of antibiotic. Keep in mind that if you are primarily out hunting, you may wish to consider the Adventure Medical Kits Hunter Kit, which includes supplies for hanlding gunshot wounds. While this kit is NOT the pinnacle of all medical kits, it will address 90% of all things you might want. A few minor additions, such as a small pocket knife, an emergency thermal blanket, a whistle, an instant cold compress, and perhaps Polar Pure Water Disinfectant would round it out nicely. You should be able to fit most of those items in this kit. If your trip will last longer than 2-3 days or your group is larger than 5-7 people, you may wish to consider the Adventure Medical Kits Outfitter. It is more bulky, but much more comprehensive.

As for the accompanying First Aid guide (Comprehensive Guide to Wilderness & Travel Medicine), I found it to be FIRST CLASS. In fact, it has gotten many positive reviews itself . It is well-organized and structured, and would make it easy to determine the proper course of treatment for almost any situation. The guide alone is worth half the price of this kit.

Overall, I highly recommend the Adventure Medical Sportsman kit! The price is well worth what you get, in both content and peace of mind.

I purchased this emergency first aid kit specifically for my 72 hr backpack. I would say that the type of supplies included is enough for most basic to moderate injuries requiring wound care. I definitely would not turn to this kit expecting to treat severe trauma wounds. The nice thing about this kit is that there is still room to add a few more supplies to your liking. I was able to add a pack of Quickclot and an Israeli Battle Dressing.

CELOX First Aid Temporary Traumatic Wound Treatment 35g Pouch

My wife and had bought some Celox after I had read about it in a magazine, and it seemed interesting enough to buy. We put it into a travel first aid kit, which we subsequently took with us on a trip to Guadalupe Mountains National Park in late May of 2010. On our drive there, approaching from the south on Texas Highway 54, we came across a single vehicle rollover accident which had occurred no more than a few minutes before our arrival. The vehicle, a pickup truck had two occupants, of which the passenger was ambulatory. When the vehicle turned over, the windshield was broken out at the edges as a sheet and pushed up and into the passenger compartment, immediately after which the driver's scalp had come into violent contact, cutting his scalp loose from his head, starting at the middle of his forehead and continuing almost 180 degrees around to the middle of the back of his head. He was bleeding heavily from this wound when we arrived. I could not apply pressure to his head while he was in the truck, so the passenger and I managed to get him out of the truck, and lay him in a head-high position by the side of the road.

I tried first sprinkling the Celox around the periphery of the wound, before I was fully aware of its extent, but it became clear that this was not going to stop the blood, so I pulled back the driver's scalp and liberally poured the Celox all over the top of the wound, laid the scalp flap back in place, and applied pressure with both hands with the one large bandage we had. The driver was conscious but in great pain, and repeatedly tried to reach up and pull his scalp loose, which would lead to more bleeding, and more Celox, but, by the time the first responder arrived, we had the bleeding completely controlled, such that we were able to remove the bloody bandage and replace it with a fresh dressing, without any appreciable further bleeding. It seemed like just a few minutes between the 911 call and the arrival of the first responder, a Park Ranger from Guadalupe Mountains, but it was actually about 45 minutes, during which time, we used a bit more than half of the 35 grams in the Celox package.

Having the Celox with us allowed us to stop the bleeding, which I think otherwise we would have been hard-pressed to do. It doesn't weigh anything, it doesn't cost much, it is metabolized naturally by the body, it has mild antiseptic properties, it is not temperature-sensitive, and it requires no special skill to use: I can't recommend it enough!

Last week my small dog was ripped open when the wind caught an open door and it slammed against her. She was bleeding profusely and had it not been for the CELOX she would have bled out within a few minutes. CELOX saved her life. I keep CELOX in all my first aid kits including one on my belt when I am using my chainsaw.

We use clotting agents in the armed forces, but make sure you don't use these granules if you have large open arterial bleeding. The granules can get in your blood stream and cause major problems. REALLY good stuff for abdominal wounds though!

We keep a few basic medical supplies around the house such as hydrogen peroxide and isopropyl alcohol. The latter can be used as rubbing alcohol or as a disinfectant for minor scrapes and scratches. It's good to have these things around. They're very inexpensive and have a long shelf life. We purchased them at a nearby neighborhood grocery store. Swan is the only brand they carry. Lately, my wife has been using the isopropyl alcohol for an additional use that surprised me. She's an artist who produces what are known as "newborn dolls." She buys blank vinyl doll parts from sculptors who produce such things and brings them to life by painting them. Believe me, they're extremely realistic. Drop me a note and I'll send you an image of one. She uses isopropyl alcohol as a cleaning agent on the vinyl doll parts. Then she buys colored paints in very small containers and uses small amounts of a paint thinner to dissolve the dye in order to paint the doll. Then she bakes the doll parts in an oven in order to get rid of the the isopropyl alcohol and paint thinner and to dry the paint. Each doll part requires about 6 or 7 paintings and dryings to produce the end result. Fortunately, at least the alcohol and thinner part of the process is very inexpensive.

I bought this after I had a very bad fall on my bike. I skidded across some asphalt and ended up with a very large scraped up area from the center of my knee down abut 4 inches and a couple of inches wide along with other smaller wounds. It was fairly deep so I had to keep it covered. I tried the gauze and tape route but it kept coming off. I tried to use Nexcare Absolute Waterproof Premium Adhesive Pads but they were just to narrow. They were also a bit difficult to put on. The paper frame was hard to take off and I would end up folding it on itself. I had used something similar in the past and could not find anything at the locale Drug store.

Being a Prime member I started looking on Amazon and found these. They are very expensive. I really needed something to keep this cut clean. I ordered these and they came in less than 2 days from the order date. These did the trick. I thought I would have to change them every other day. They stayed on and kept the wound sealed much longer than I anticipated. I had no infection or irritation while using these. It took over a month for the cut to heal enough to not worry about it. I ended up using less than half the box.

Pros: One of the best benefits from a purely vain point was the minimizing of scaring. I can wear a skirt or shorts and I don't have a huge reddish purple thing on my leg.

They moved with my knee bending and didn't pull. I could ride my bike with them with no problem.

They kept the area sealed from dirt. Water from the bath, shower or light swimming never leaked in.

I thought the pain was minimized while I wore these and I never had a huge itchy scab I was tempted to scratch day or night.

I have been able to use them for other cuts. I have to cut them down for smaller cuts.

The expiration date was over 2 years from when I bought them.

Cons: They are very thin so it takes a bit of practice to use them.

Very expensive. I should have bought a smaller box.

I use the Bioclusive Transparent Dressings as an overlay to my Fentanyl patch to insure they remain in contact with the skin. Much better than using the Tegaderm. Good price and fast shipping.

All I have to do is scrape some skin off and it will get infected fast. This product is great. You cover your booboo with this "fake skin" and let it heal. If the wound puts out fluid, take off the skin, wash it off and put on another skin bandage. I get the large ones and just cut off what I need. It can be tricky to get the backing off this way so be sure to include the backing flap in your bandage. Great for burns too, no scars. It was originally recommended to me by my doctor, to help heal a sore on my foot and avoid skin grafting.

They keep my wife's Fentanyl patches on great, but after changing the patches every 3 days, the area around the dressing gets very, very sore. It sticks so well that it really hurts coming off. I use an adhesive cleaner wipe to help loosen it, but that only marginally helps. It may work great for you if you don't have to use these in very sensitive places.

WATER-JEL - Burn Dressing - 4" x 4"

Years ago I had purchased several 4x4 waterjel burn dressings individual packages, stuck them in my car's emergency kit, and then forgot them. Then after a terrifying car accident in the rain, my family and I were stranded in the middle of the interstate. We were basically okay, except for my husband the driver who had painful 3rd degree burns on both hands from the airbags exploding in the car. I whipped out these packets, tore them open, placed the gauze on his burns, and poured the remaining gel over them. The pain subsided and the burns were kept clean. In fact when the ambulance got there 45 minutes later (and this was downtown Dallas), the medics told us that they really had nothing to add to the waterjel treatment. That the ER would have done little different. They also told us that these airbag burns were very common.

I have now put Waterjel products in my house medical cabine and all three of our cars. In fact, I think our whole extended family has now bought and carry these with them.

This is absolutely the best for burns, it instantly numbs the pain and promotes healing.

I burned my hand on boiling hot water, I was in undescribable pain. After using the burn dressing and was able to tolerate the healing the process as well as sleep confortably.
