Tactical First Response Kit - Advanced by Rescue Essentials

The Tactical First Response Kit Advanced by Rescue Essentials is designed and advertised to treat severe bleeding and for the most part contains good quality material. This "Advanced" kit, although more expensive, is vastly superior the their "Basic" kit.

The contents of this kit include the following:

1 SWAT Tourniquet

1 Celox 35g Pouch

1 4 inch Emergency Pressure Dressing

1 Trauma 5x9 Pad

1 Compressed Gauze

1 Hyfin Chest Seal

1 Combat Medic Reinforcement Tape

The package is vacuum sealed, easy to open, and can be carried in a BDU pocket. The one piece of equipment that is lacking in this kit is a good quality tourniquet. The SWAT tourniquet should be replaced with the more effective and combat proven C-A-T Combat Application Tourniquet Black by North American Rescue Brand.

Positives of this kit include:

+ Quality Nitrile gloves are excellent gloves that are strong and durable to protect against Bloodborne pathogens such as hepatitis or HIV/AIDS. I do recommend having a minimum of two pairs of gloves in case one of the gloves tears or you need to treat multiple individuals. These gloves are strong but still capable of becoming damaged. Carry an extra set of gloves.

+ The Combat Medic Reinforcement Tape is effective and holds well.

+ The Hfyin Chest Seal works very effectively on sucking chest wounds.

+ The Celox pouch is very effective for stopping severe bleeding

+ Contains a quality 4 in. Emergency Trauma Dressing

I recommend this kit with the caveat that you upgrade to the C-A-T Combat Application Tourniquet Black by North American Rescue Brand and an extra set of Nitrile gloves.
