The doctor treating a family member use Medline Industries Gauze Sponges and the ones I purchased were the exact same.

Product package says "Sterile in Unopened, Undamaged Package" -so what do they do: It's shipped with the package top cut-off for some reason, which raises question as to whether the product is sterile (and whether it is even new).
