3M Steri-Strip Skin Closures, Reinforced

This is another product I have chosen for my bug out bag. My wife and I have been in the medical field for over 30 years, and when we decided to put together a first aid kit, we decided that using a suture kit might cause more trauma that fixing. Steri strips are used in emergency rooms and even surgically for closing wounds. Yes there are times when sutures are more appropriate, but most people wouldn't have a clue how to properly use them. I might eventually get a suture kit, but for now I will use this 3m product.

I broke my arm and had to have an external stabelizer with four rods going through the skin into my arm. The rods caused the skin to tear. I used these narrow strips to prevent the tearing of the skin around the rods. The strips were very effective for this purpose.

These arrived on time and in good condition. They work well in dry areas on the skin. In any area that is moist, they let go and fall off. I augmented their attachment with a liquid bandage product. I put the liquid bandage on then the steri strip then some liquid bandage. I did not let the liquid bandage get too close to the wound and you have to be careful if the skin is thin or sensitive to the liquid bandage, if it is then just use the steri strips by them selves. Additionally, watch that tape from any bandaging doesn't get on the steri strip or when you change the bandage it is likely you will pull the steri strip(s) off as well.

Used these on a finger splint and had them wrapped around my finger for long periods of time.

They are strong and held up well to water, oils, rubbing, etc.

3M closure strips are the best I've tried so far and I've experimented with a bunch of brands from the local Rx stores.

An Emergency kit must and great to have on hand for those cuts that just do not qualify for a doctor's visit but could leave a scar if not closed up. I have used Steri Strips by 3M since the 1980's and have found them to be the answer to the Dr. Mom and or Nurse Mom role.

Great product to have handy, particularly if you have kids. :)) STRONGLY SUGGEST that you try to buy it in your local area, suggest medical supply stores (almost all of which are open to the public) as the shipping costs are beyond belief otherwise.

I have a problem with very slow healing of small cuts, etc. I've found that if I cut a small patch of the J&J adhesive pad to put over the wound, it will heal much quicker. And I'm much happier.

First, Kudos to Pharmapacks for not over-packaging these. Some suppliers put these with bubble wrap in a box, as if they were crystal ornaments. They're flat band-aids, for god's sake! No need for anything besides a soft envelope. Don't waste your money on shipping with other suppliers.

For 20 years, this kind of wound-healing pad has been available in Europe. I first found them in Spain, when I had a gaping blister on my heel. An hour after putting this on, there was no pain, and that lovely telltale white bubble rose under the pad: the sign that my body was producing healing white blood cells at the site. Seven days later, it nearly fell off, and there was no visible sign there had EVER been a wound there. Miraculous! I was amazed that it took so long for these to arrive in the states. And once here, very difficult to find. No big city pharmacy I've been to carries these, so I have to order them on Amazon. Surgeons in hospitals still don't seem to know about them. When I had my stitches removed and they could see no scarring, there were amazed. I had to tell professional surgeons about these. How is that still possible? And why aren't these easier to find?

We first bought these at Wal-mart locally when my son burned his hand pretty bad. He left the bandage on and his hand healed very nicely. We wanted to have some of these bandages around but of course, Wal-mart no longer carries them. So very happy to find them on Amazon and I got a great price and enough bandages to keep us from now on. My husband burned his chest this summer and he put on one of these bandages and healed right up. They really worked for the farmers in my life. I almost forgot, recently a friend of ours burned his hand and we took him a box and he too just healed right up.

I used these after getting road rash from a bicycle crash. They are so awesome. You never get a scab because it essentially becomes your outer layer of skin. Everything heals super quickly and with much less scarring.

Tough pads are perfect for dry sores that do not heal well. I sometimes get bed sores, as soon as one appears, I put tough pad on it, and change it every few days until the sore is totally gone. They also cushion the sore so there is much less pain involved. It is a must have for them.

I have read in a couple of places that too much Vitamin A can be bad in early pregnancy. With that being said, these are the only prenatal vitamins that I can tolerate with no issues. They still give you lots of DHA (AKA fish oil) but I never got the fish burps with them like I did with all the others. I have been taking Centrum Prenatals and I HATE them. My doctor told me not to worry too much about the Vitamin A content so much as long as I am taking a Prenatal everyday so I think I will be coming back to these. Highly recommend as far as palatability goes.

I love these vitamins! They do not have any sort of taste when swallowing or any after taste like some prenatal vitamins. The DHA is naturally derived from plants instead of fish-no fishy taste which is great when food is not your friend in the beginning of pregnancy.

I bought this product based on a recommendation from a doctor that it was very effective easing the itch from insect bites. I received a pair of Howard Leight Fusion ear plugs several years ago at a trade show and have been using them ever since. With some plugs you have to roll them between your fingers and wait from the foam to expand, while transfering whatever was on your fingers to the ear plugs and then into your ear. With these, you merely push them into your ear and after using put them back into the carry case. I re-used the same pair a couple hundred times. Some styrofoam types "swell up" after inserting and create presure in the ear area resulting in a headache. These are the most comfortable earplugs you'll ever wear, I've forgotten I had them in before. I highly recommend them.

I wear these earplugs for a water aerobics class where the music is TOO loud. The earplugs don't shut out all of the noise but they go a long way towards making the loud music bearable.
