Quite necessary to be prepared in a hurry in the event of an emergency. I purchased this kit to get me started in the right direction. I may add some personal stuff just for my little guys but this kit has what is needed should an urgent situation arise where you need to grab something quickly and go. The only thing I was not happy with was the bag a duffle bag would have worked better so that if you wanted to add some things it would be easy; with the bag they provided you would have to throw the kit into a large bag with anything else you wanted to include. I am very satisfied over all with my purchase.

I found this product a little lacking. Due to a personal emergency I left this kit behind for my dog and it seemed to be of only the most limited use. My dog's lack of opposable thumbs made it nigh impossible to get most out of this kit. It was able to tear open some of the packets, but the water purification packets, first aid kit, poop bags, and decals went completely unused. To top it all off, it ate the lightsticks leaving glow in the dark scat everywhere. For the first couple of months i really liked this bag, but recently it started to fall apart. On the plus side, it has a lot of nice detachable velcro bags in which to put supplies, as well as several compartments with loops for storing airways, bandages, etc. Now the bad news. First, after 2 months, one of the backpack straps connecting to the lower part of the bag blew out. I had to stitch it and glue with epoxy. Then, I started to notice that other connection points of the backpack straps were starting to go, and have had to reinforce them with epoxy throughout. Even so, as an EMT, the daily heavy use that i give to this bag is too much for the level of quality provided. I now wish i had saved my money and gone for a Meret or Statpacks bag instead. If this is a trunk bag or bag which will only see occasional use, it may work for you. But if it is to be used by an EMS professional who will be be using it daily, you will be better served paying more for a higher quality bag, rather than going through this one in a few months, only to end up purchasing a high quality bag in the end. I have already invested an extra 15 in epoxy, not to mention extra time working on this bag to keep it operational, so i consider it to be a very poor investment indeed.
When I first received this ice pack, I was surprised to see how small it was. I guess I didn't read the size before ordering. But lo and behold, I'm so glad I didn't order anything bigger. I have used it many times and it is just perfect! It's made with a very durable material and once you fill it with cubes, it settles into a form that can be easily applied to any part of your body. I have actually set it between my back and chair and it doesn't feel bulky or uncomfortable.

Canada seems to frequently be ahead of us in many areas of life, as they were with this. We had J&J and Curity and maybe more, but this was so superior it put itself in a different league. You cut off what you need of it, not what someone else thinks you should use that might get wasted. This is one of the most comprehensive first aid kits I have seen. I keep mine in my truck for emergencies and field work. I has absorbent pads from 2"x2" up to one that covers the entire abdomen. The case (bag)is made from very durable material that can really take a beating. Even has a shoulder strap for easy carrying. It does not take up a lot of room.
