Adventure Medical Kits Family First Aid Kit

Adventure Medical Kits Family First Aid KitAll you need at a better price that your could assemble something.

Great bag. Good bandages and medications.

Used the tick scissors yesterday to take a glass shard out of my foot.

They are pretty good kits, it has a lot of items in the kit. We have not used ours. We got several to give to our adult children.

Adventure Medical Kits Hunter Kit

Adventure Medical Kits Hunter KitI think this is as complete an aid kit as you could get in this size. The kit is much smaller than I'd expected, about the size of a travel toiletries kit, would probably fit in most glove compartments. It is absolutely stuffed with gear, the only negative I can think of is that there really isn't room to add much more to it and still zip it up. I managed to get a small pocketknife and a minimag flashlight, and will add a whistle and a small reflective blanket soon.

The items are well-labelled and definitely seem high quality, the bandage scissors are very small but sharp and solid. The bag itself is a very strong nylon and there is an inner bag, held in place by velcro, designed to take out into the field. The first aid manual is small but covers a lot of ground and seems reasonably well-written. The kit also includes a few instruction cards covering basic first aid that will be useful.

I think the price is a bit high, but you'd be hard pressed to build this kit from scratch for much less and I wanted something actually useful. If I never get my money's worth out of it, I'll count myself lucky. Overall, I think this was the best fit for my needs after searching and comparing everything I could find online. For an individual, it's probably more than you need, but perfect for a family or small group.

There seems to be some truth to the belief that left-handed persons are more accident prone than the majority. At least in my case I have always kept reading materials available like Gray's Anatomy and it's cousins in the medical field. It was with some chagrin a while back that I took stock of my resources for medical attention and found band-aids, triple-ointment, and a few other items hoary with age. Doing a little research led me to Adventure Medical Kits, the Hunter Kit. It had a good selection of routine remedies for outdoor activities and around-the-home mishaps, and invited expansion. The most important items I added were several QuikClot packets, Polar Pure water disinfectant, and potassium iodide tablets since I live within twenty miles of two nuclear power stations. The Hunter Kit listed it's intended longetivity as 1-7 days for 1-7 people. It is a compact water-resistant bag stuffed to the max and fits into my Eastpack with plenty of room to spare for other essential components. In all, my medical resources have multiplied at a relativly moderate cost. Included with other ezy instructions is the excellant "A Comprehensive Guide To Wilderness and Travel Medicine" by Dr. Eric A. Weiss, with an overall view of emergency medicine outside urban care. A must item for outdoor enthusiests and homebodies alike. My only eye-opener was that many of the antibiotic ointments, sterile gauze, etc., were made in China. Now China can make high-quality products but I'd like some assurance when it relates to health-field products. So the Adventure Kit Hunter Kit looked nicely equipped and ezy to use. I'll test it out.

I bought this to have in the car and to take with us camping. It's got a lot in it and my husband is very pleased with the range of items included. It's extremely compact and well organized. I thought the price was a bit high but I guess you pay for the excellent organization and compactness. Definitely better than kits we've tried to assempble on our own in the past.

I'm a fanatic when it comes to first aid kits, so if you aren't really concerned about them having the best items available and as much as can be crammed into them for that time when an item may be really necessary, I suggest that you check out another review.

This kit was listed at half price which was a great start, since the carry bag alone is very well done. It contains most of the basic things, including an irrigation syringe, which is uncommon, but I would add several packages of Staphaseptic, which is a great first aid antiseptic gel, 3 prescription medications that I include in all my first aid kits: 6 Azitromycin Tablets 250mg.,30 Amoxicillin 500mg.Tabs, and although I add 20 Lortab 10/500mg tabs, which are strong pain killers and are retricted, you can add whatever your doctor recommends for the same purpose, when you tell him/her that it's for your first aid kit. Keep these in their original prescription bottles and ask the pharmacist to note the expiration date of the larger bottle the meds were taken out of on the label. That way you'll be able to know when the meds are in need of replacing.

I'd add 2 packages of Celox, one 15 gram and 1 35 gram package. These are incredible blood stopping granules you just pour into a wound and it will stop even severe bleeding very quickly. I'd add a package of Celox Trauma Gauze as well, which stops bleeding and works also on burns...a must have, at least for me. Good water purification tablets, a tiny flashlight( so many to choose from;I added a Spiderco Ladybug with ZDP189 blade steel, the best new steel around as far as I'm concerned. I also added a Z pack dressing for severe bleeding control, and finally, I added a tube of Silver Sulfadizine, one of the best prescriptin burn treatments and a tiny bottle of tincture of benzoin, so your wound closeure strips will hold.

Your first aid kit is stuffed, but the zipper will close and you will have a small, portable first aid kit that will be able to handle a great many emergencies, certainly more than when the only had

it's original packaging. I would trust this kit for hiking, camping, home first aid, even backcountry hunting, fishing, exploring. To come up with something a lot better, I have a full backpack 3 level modular unit weighing 60 pounds, that cost more than $1250 to put together. But that's not what we're talking about. Styart with this well laid out Adventure Medical Kit, being sold at a super price, and just add additional items, most of which are sold by Amazon. Be Safe!

This kit has a lot in it. It does not have an eye wash, so I added a bottle of saline to it. It is very compact.

Mueller Empty Trekker Bag Black, 16.17-Pound

Mueller Empty Trekker Bag Black, 16.17-PoundBought this over 5 years ago and is still being used today. I find that it is the perfect size. Big enough for everything you need but not too big. I've travelled the world with this kit and it is still in one piece. The wheels rugged and can handle any field. All the zippers still work. My only complaint is that I bought it for $140 and now it is $250.

American Diagnostic Corporation 104bke Responder Holster Set, Black, Adult

American Diagnostic Corporation 104bke Responder Holster Set, Black, AdultThis kit from ADC is exceptional. I don't mind the fact that its branded China. Tourniquet is great for non-priority patients that I wanna give some fluids to otherwise I'd just use the quick tie rubber ones. Knife is junk I replaced it with a rescue knife. Penlight could have pupil chart. I'm just picky. This is perfect for anyone who needs an auxillary carry kit.

For a basic EMT tool kit, this is excellent. The holster is solid, and the tools are good quality. Yes, you can spend a lot more, but the ready made kits all have the same basic tools. Amazon carries this kit for less than most other sites, and for the money, this one comes out the best value. One feature that I liked was that the holster has room to hold a few other tools besides the ones that come with it, allowing a degree of customization that some of the smaller kits don't have. Overall, I'm really happy with it. My wife uses it in her EMT class, and she says it does an excellent job.

This kit is great, but I give it four stars because of the knife and flashlight. I replaced them with a couple I had already, so it was no big deal, but it might be something to consider if you're picky about things like this. As for the shears, tourniquet, and forceps, they are great quality, and so is the holster it's all in!

One Each Adjustable Bedside Assistant BED HANDLES INC

One Each Adjustable Bedside Assistant BED HANDLES INCThe bedside assistant bed handles might seem a little pricey, but I cannot put a price on having my parents back home from the rehab. hospital, and safe in their own bed. Most medical equipment is expensive, but blame the companies who distribute the products. This device was designed by an engineer for his wife who has MS. I'm sure it was his intention to put out a product to help his wife, and others...it was the corporations who manipulate the price.

The original Bedside Assistant works well on most mattresses(up to 16"), but consider the adjustable Bedside Assistant that extends to 20" if you have a new pillow-top mattress. It's a fine product and I'm forever grateful for it's inventor. Thank You.

I bought this for my 91yr old mom. It is exactly as advertised, sturdy and fits well. My big problem is spending $65 on a couple of pieces of lightweight aluminum and a strap. I am in the wrong business! Holy mackerel!

This seems to be a case of collusion. All the manufacturers charge about the same amount for this and they are all laughing all the way to the bank.

If you want bed rails, this will do but don't expect much

E6 Bloodstop (EA)

E6 BloodstopI agree with the other positive reviews.

Every household should have several boxes of these, and also keep some in the car.

I have now used bloodSTOP multiple times on two different applications.

First, my daughter frequently gets bloody noses. The problem with using tissue paper is that a hard scab forms inside the nose, and it's easy for the scab to break/peel and bleed again. Using bloodSTOP rolled up inside the nose and putting pressure on the nostril for 30 second, the bleeding stops immediately. My daughter no longer is fearful of blooding noses and she's confident that the product works every time.

The second application was my niece scraping her elbow when she tripped on the ground. Having a scab on the elbow is difficult to heal due the frequent bending of the elbow. We used the bloodSTOP on her wound, and then after several minutes, we wet the excess material and gently scrape it off. The main portion of the bloodSTOP coagulates and becomes like a second skin to the below no hard/breakable scap. The best part is that ths product actually IMPROVES healing. I'm not sure how/why it works, but it actually made the elbow heal BETTER than with traditional medicine and/or band-aid. From now on, bloodSTOP is the first product that I use to control any bleeding or open wound.

P.S. "One Stop bloodSTOP" on Amazon has the best prices and free shipping(for Amazon Prime).

They should start calling this thing INSTANT BloodSTOP! I took a tumble a few days ago on my bike riding down the trail; I was a bloody mess. A couple superficial scrapes on my elbows were bad but one particularly deep gash on my right leg was bleeding like crazy...I slapped a piece of BloodSTOP on there and after 20-30 seconds the bleeding stopped! As someone always staying physically active (and hurting myself) I cannot recommend this product more. Every athlete, school, and worried mom needs some of this stuff in their first aid kits. Hopefully you never need to use it but gosh darn it is effective! Step aside Band-aid, BloodSTOP is the everyday remedy of the 21st century!!

Within minutes, the hemmorhaging terminated and I was able to resume my activities. I recommend Bloodstop to all who suffer from severe nosebleeds.

For lacerations (just the top later of skin, mainly capillaries are destroyed and bleeding), this product should be just fine. If it's a deeper wound, it may bleed beyond the capabilities of the Bloodstop pads. They become a clear gelllatin when wet by either water or blood. The gelatin does form a covering over the wound, but if the wound continuous to build pressure, will bleed through the gelatin covering.

Also, removal of the bloodstop was a bit difficult as it required some rubbing of the sound site to remove the gelatin after it has dried a bit.

FUTURO Splint Wrist Brace, Black, Medium 1 ea

FUTURO Splint Wrist Brace, Black, Medium 1 eaThis wrist splint is very comfortable; it is light weight and firm; it keeps the wrist immobile while allowing for easy finger movement. Cool because it's permeable and you don't have to worry about getting a left vs right model; use for either hand. Cool black color too. But for all around office/keyboarding use, I'd take the "Smart Glove" any day. THAT is a five star product.

I ordered this brace to trade off with an older one I already had. This was so much more comfortable than my old one, I had trouble talking myself into switching them from day to day. Felt like it was a good product for the money.

PhysiciansCare Retail First Aid Kit

PhysiciansCare ReadyCare First Aid Kit for up to 50 People, Contains 355 PiecesMy wife and I had gotten one of these several months ago (we like to be prepared for anything), and it's already come in handy (unfortunately). We got this one for my daughter and our Grand children, so they can take care of whatever comes up. A Must have if you have children.

Note: Get Quik-Clot separately (for serious bleeding trauma just in case) and add it to the kit. The kits that have it as part of the standard setup are big enough (and expensive enough) to take care of an army platoon in combat (overkill even for us). This kit has everything else you would normally need for first aid, without bloating the kit too big with things you don't need.

I purchased the Physicians Care First Aid Kit (for up to 10 people, containing 189 pieces) to have on set while my husband filmed his latest movie project. I handled the catering and craft services for the project and needed to have a first aid kit on hand. After reading reviews about first aid kits on Amazon, I chose this product based on the "star-value" and reviews given. I shop Amazon on a regular basis and have come to trust and value the customer reviews on products that I may be considering purchasing. The first aid kit fit our needs perfectly. Thanks!

Kindest Regards,

Christy H.

I bought this for my (clumsy) daughter who is heading off to college in the fall. It has everything she needs (hopefully) to get her through her first year of school. She is a lifeguard & so she can also aid others with her kit. Only problem is the latch. It can pop open if the kit is not handled with care.

Want PhysiciansCare Retail First Aid Kit Discount?

Two big issues with this kit.

1. Not much more inside than Bandaids. I bought two different kits. The other one I got was only $2 more expensive, but came with much more variety.

2. The box doesn't stay latched! I have to store it with it flat on it's back. If I try to lean it up against the wall, the door flips open and the contents spill out. The latch just doesn't work.

PhysiciansCare Office First Aid Kit For 25 People, Contains 131 Pieces

PhysiciansCare Office First Aid Kit For 25 People, Contains 131 PiecesCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program To market this as a first-aid kit for 25 people is a bit audacious and potentially irresponsible. There is not enough in here to treat 25 people, unless they have nothing worse than a paper cut or a minor scrape.

Contents:

1 instant cold pack (disposable and non-reusable)

50 alcohol prep pads

50 adhesive bandages 3/4" x 3" (10 sheets of 5)

2 antibiotic packets

2 burn cream packets

10 latex gloves

1 pair of metal scissors

1 plastic tweezer

10 gauze pads

1 elastic bandage

1 roll of tape

This product is marketed by a company in CT called Acme United Corporation (all kit components made in China). Is this the same Acme corporation that sells items to Wile E. Coyote?

The manufacturer even dares to count the "handbook" and registration card as 2 separate items. The handbook is simply a single sheet of printed 8 1/2" x 14" paper folded over twice. The registration card tells you to go to their website to register. The box itself is plastic and of adequate thickness, but the latch is very flimsy. The tape is very poor quality and thin. It's not the fabric kind you might expect. It's thin cheap plastic and rips very easily. All the sports tape I see sold on Amazon is 1 1/2" wide. This one is 1/2" wide. It does not have enough surface area or cling to maintain adhesion to a wound area. It has about the same sticking power as a piece of Post-It notes. The cream packets are less than the size of a pack of restaurant ketchup.

The box is not compartmentalized or divided for proper organization of the items, so all the bandages and things just slosh around -wasting time rummaging through the contents, even if it's just a few extra seconds, is not good when someone is hurt. This kit is probably suitable to give to your child to play hospital with (minus the scissors), but not adequate for real world first aid use. Stay away from this item unless you love wasting money on substandard goods. Order something like this instead: First Aid Kit With Hard Case326 pcsFirst Aid Complete Care Kit Exceeds OSHA & ANSI Guidelines Ideal for the Workplace Disaster Preparedness (Color Red) or put together your own with common OTC items.

I would be more forgiving with the score if the product were just marketed as an ordinary personal first-aid kit, then it would probably be 3 stars instead of 1. But as is, the marketing claims and price versus reality warrant a 1 star review.

UPDATE: To say that this product "Meets or exceeds Federal OSHA Regulation 1910.151b" is also disingenuous. All 1910.151b compliance requires is that: "In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid. Adequate first aid supplies shall be readily available." It makes no specifications as to quantity of supplies, quality, or what items are necessary. How can you "exceed" a Yes/No test? You can only meet or fail to meet 1910.1510b. You cannot exceed it since it has no degrees of compliance.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Where to begin. The Physicians Care Office First Aid Kit For 25 People is not much more use than a box of band-aids, for 20-times the money. What you have here is a few dollars (at the most) worth of of first aid supplies packaged in a very cheap plastic case.

The Case......The case is an injection molded plastic box with molded plastic handle and latches. The latches are so poorly made that only one of them will engage and it just barely does. This is not a flaw in manufacturing, it's the way the box is designed. The handle is molded at the bottom of the box with two screw holes to mount on a wall. If you were to mount this on a wall, normal household vibration would eventually knock open the one closed latch and spill the contents.

The Contents......The contents of the box consist of four tiny sachets of creams, a tiny roll of tape, five pair of rubber gloves repackaged in ziplock bags, a stack of band-aids, a small box of alcohol wipes, a small elastic bandage, one very small instant cold ice pack, a few squares of gauze, a laughable pair of soft plastic tweezers right out of a toy doctor's kit and an almost equally lame pair of scissors.

A nearly identical First Aid kit by the same manufacturer is listed elsewhere on Amazon Physicians Care 25 Person First Aid Kit, Contains 113 Pieces for 1/6th the price. What's going on here guys? Floating a trial balloon to see if you can get away with it?

Normally, I don't consider price in a product review, but in this case it's necessary. I went through the "shelves" here at Amazon and within a few minutes found from 10 to 50 times the amount of the same items with professional tweezers, bandage scissors and a water tight tub to put it all in for less money. You should do the same

Buy PhysiciansCare Office First Aid Kit For 25 People, Contains 131 Pieces Now

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The kit has 131 pieces the way that a box of 100 screws has 101 pieces (if you count the box as a piece. Fifty alcohol pads, ten latex gloves and fifty band-aids (gauze pads) does not 110 pieces make; and who would count the first aid booklet as a piece. Why not count the box and the cover and make it 132. If you brought this out at your kids soccer or baseball game, the other parents would think you were a cheapskate or a numbskull.

Now when my daughter and her friends bring out their dolls and ambulance and Emergency Room stuff, they'll have some other play stuff. I know that we get children's books all the time, but this is above and beyond.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I happen to work in an office, where paper-cuts are a daily event and occasionally someone burns themselves on a toaster oven. We go through first Aid supplies like Oprah goes through SPANX Power Panties Shapewear. To say this kit is for 25 people? is just plain false, and hilarious.

To charge (at this time) $36 bucks for this? is internet highway robbery. Its a small kit, and when I received it the sticker on the front wasn't properly put on so it had giant air bubbles in it, so 10 points there for aesthetics. Open it up and its just all dumped in there, no pockets to organize, no compartments, just thrown in there. 131 Pieces..i only counted 128? Lets break that down:

5 pairs of rubber gloveswhich is 10 "pieces". cost? GLOVES NITRILE P/F MEDIUM ***G Size: 100 6 bucks for 100. 60 cents worth.

50 band aids Coverlet Latex-Free Adhesive Dressings Strips 1 inch X 3 Inches,100 / Box $2.80

...SO thats only 128 items..with box 129 with a piece of paper telling you HOW to do first aid? 130 (rolls eyes). with a retail worth of MAYBE 14.69 and thats being generous. All of this stuff is super generic, the band aids arent fabric, or waterproof (which you need at work) There isnt enough for 2 people, much less 25.

You are better off buying your own stuff, and putting it in an empty box.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

Bottom line is this kit contains a lot of useful items, but they are of mediocre quality. Even the case is poorly made. However, it is better than no kit as everything is functional. I think fewer bulky items like gloves, and maybe some variety in bandages (like add some steri strips, etc), and better overall quality would help this product out a lot.

Contents:

The bandages have hardly any absorbent material, and the adhesive is marginal. There are 50 standard sized (3/4"x3") bandages.

Much of the kit is made up of bulky items. It includes 10 latex gloves (5 pairs), bagged in pairs. I wish they would say 5 pair instead, especially since they are bagged in pairs, but they want to get their piece count higher. I question the need for 5 pairs of latex gloves. I also question why they use latex gloves, when most of the other products are latex free.

The elastic bandage is a nice addition, and seems to be decent enough.

The medical tape is very easy (too easy) to tear and is not the cloth tape I am used to, but more like paper.

The gauze pads are very porous and stringy. Not the typical gauze pads I am used to seeing.

The case has a nice rubber gasket to make it appear leak resistant, but a small amount of water inside and it just pours right out around the gasket which doesn't seal properly.

The scissors crush paper more than they cut it.

The first aid "handbook" is actually a folded piece of paper, which doesn't even fit the definition of a book. It is a pamphlet.

The cold pack is a neat addition, but seems totally unnecessary and just adds a lot of bulk to the kit (along with the gloves). It does get ice cold though (one time use, disposable).

Pedinol Pedinol Modified Castellani Paint With Color

Castellani Paint With Color --- 1OzThis product was recommend on the "Doctors" program. One of the show's guest had an atrocious foot fungus problem. One of the doctors recommended that the guest use this product between his toes. This product works well. It dries the skin and makes the fungus unable to live on the foot. It does stain, however-so be careful of floors, carpets and clothing when using it.

After searching for a few years to find some good help for my grand daughter's eczema, we found on line that Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, IL. had just opened a new eczema, severe skin care center. We found doctor Lio, and have received the B E S T treatment so far for her severe eczema.

I have had skin problems for years. It is a constant battle. MY own dermatoligist said I had eczema. Dr. Lio diagnoised, flexural psorisas. One of the treatments he recommended was to put, Castellani Paint With Color on the areas twice a day, along with two other medicines. He feels the clear does not have the natural ingredient that the colored, original one has. The color does stain badly, but the results are worth it! Just don't get it on your clothes, let it dry, and still be careful what you ware.

Hope this helps some people

My only complaint is that no applicator was supplied. I remember having used Mercurochrome as a child. The Mercurochrome bottle had a glass rod attached inside the cap. So I found a thin rod and used it to apply the Castellani Paint.
