DIXIE EMS LARGE PADDED FIRE RESCUE TRAUMA BAG- ORANGE

DIXIE EMS LARGE PADDED FIRE RESCUE TRAUMA BAG- ORANGEThe People at BP Medical fail to mention that %MOST% of their products are either overstocks or factory rejects from Ever Dixie EMS Supply. Their bags fall apart, have bad seams, etc. Then, when mentioned the bags are falling apart, they promise a replacement and you never hear from them again.

This is a nice bag. Did not expect it but it has dividers padded inside to organize supplies inside. Two zipper pockets on the side with some other two small clear plastic zipper bags..

Good to keep at home for a big family with first aid supplies ;) hope this helps..

Buy DIXIE EMS LARGE PADDED FIRE RESCUE TRAUMA BAG- ORANGE Now

Only problem with this bag is that it is going to cost me a fortune to fill this HUGE bag. LOL

Not a professional and got this for med BOB. With all the compartments, dual side pockets with detachable zippered bags in each, and the elastic bands sewn into the top, I could set up one heck of a field station with this.

Heavy zippers, reinforced seams, protected bottom with pegs, medium weight material...Could not be happier at this price.

If you are a Vol. firefighter or small town first responder that doesn't have a big budget, save your money and buy this bag.

Also, to those who denigrated this bag, what were you expecting for this price....gold leaf? I agree the picture used may be misleading, though this bag will hold all the items shown and then some. Read the descriptions and reviews before you buy. If no reviews, contact the seller. Nuf said.

Dynarex Cloth Surgical Tape - 1/2 Inches X 10 Yds, (box of 24 RL)

Dynarex Cloth Surgical Tape - 1/2 Inches X 10 Yds,~...this product does exactly what i want it to do...i spin sticks and have to cover my fingers or blisters develop; this does the trick...~

When the description of this tape included the word "cloth," I was expecting the traditional cloth adhesive tape. I was very disappointed in this tape. First of all, it was made of some flimsy material. Definitely not the traditional cloth bandage. Secondly, the adhesive was very poor. Couldn't get the ends of the tape to stay down. The tape was a waste of money.

  • Noise Reduction Rate (NRR) 33 dB
  • Body Material Foam
  • Color Green
  • Type Uncorded Tapered
  • Quantity 200 pair per box

I wear ear-plugs almost every day of the week, and have tried quite a few different brands and styles. My favorite is the Pura-Fit 6800. They are comfortable for long periods of time (over an hour) and have very good noise attenuation. Note: I wear ear-plugs within a tight fitting helment, so comfort is paramount.

I use earplugs for sleeping and also motorcycle riding. These plugs are better than most plugs I have tried. They fit well without discomfort, last for four or five days use, and are as quiet as any I've had. For best attenuation and retention, I roll them into a small cylinder and insert flat end first into each ear...and yes, I can hear enough traffic sounds for safe riding

These are nice comfortable plugs that are individually wrapped. I leave the box near my helmet and have stashed some packages of them in my tank bag and on my bike so I'll always have them around. A great buy!

The only reason I give them four stars instead of five is that the packaging is a bit flimsy and several packs broke open in the box during shipment.

I wasn't as pleased with these ear plugs as most other reviewers were. I have small to average size ears and found these uncomfortable not because they were too hard or too wide but because they are too long. It hurts to insert them as deeply as you need to for proper noise protection.

Another issue that I have with these ear plugs is that I really doubt that they're NRR33. When I wear them, I can hear sounds that were blocked better by the ear plugs I was using previous to them, the Howard Leight Max UF orange foam ones.

Now I'm stuck with a large quantity of so-so ear plugs. I was expecting better.

It would be an exaggeration to say these earplugs saved my marriage, but they do allow me to drift off to sleep while the mrs. flips through the newspaper and flips the covers around. I sleep all night long wearing these earplugs without difficulty. The earplugs are also great for use in the shop, this is the type my company uses with extremely noisy steel grinders and arc welders running. Also, the packaging is the best blend of sanitary (individually wrapped) and low environmental impact (cardboard box and waterproof paper wrappers). They're my favorite earplugs.

EverReady Premium Gauze Pad Sponges 4''X4'' 12PLY Non-Sterile 200/Pouch

EverReady Premium Gauze Pad Sponges 4''X4'' 12PLY Non-Sterile 200/PouchWe've been using 4 x 4 pads for several years now and they do get expensive. We found these on Amazon and thought we could save a little money. Unfortunately, that's not quite true. They would save money if we could use them as a 6 ply dressing.

We've used other brands 8 ply gauze pad sponges and were able to cut them down to 4 ply. They still worked great but, at the same time, were still quite expensive using 2 dressings per day. This EverReady brand is almost useless at 4 ply, marginal at 6 ply and just adequate at 8 ply. Not much of a cost savings here.

The weave on these is so loose they have to be used at a full 12 ply just to be able to compare them to other brands 6 or 8 ply gauze pad sponges.

These might be good for applying stain with rubber gloves in a woodworkers shop. I would not recommend these at all.

Safety 1st Ultrasonic 360 Degree Humidifier

Safety 1st Soothing Mist Ultrasonic HumidifierI have been looking for a filterless humidifier for the past couple years. I had a humidifier that I liked but it used these strange accordion paper filters. It only took a couple of months for the filter to get moldy or have lots of water deposits. It was pretty disgusting and I kept having to buy refills. That added up quickly. A friend at work brought her humidifier in and said she loved it. So I decided to invest in this one. I am really impressed. I took it out of the box and filled up the reservoir very quickly and had it on the machine running in less than 2 minutes. The other bonus is that the unit is ultra quiet. It makes a little bit of noise which is nice for the white noise but it isn't obnoxious or distracting. I love that you have a lot of options for the mist output. It isn't just 2 or 3 levels. There is a lot of variation. My favorite unique feature is that it has two mist outlets so you can have the air go in two directions (I am not really sure how important this is but it is a nifty feature). When you open the box the two misters are stacked but you can move them whatever direction you want. Finally, and most importantly I like that it is filterless. This saves a lot of money for me and I am just tired of gross filters. I am a big fan of this humidifier and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good humidifier. It is marketed as a baby room humidifier but I would just buy it the blue one and use it in every room of your house.

Update: For some reason the motor has started being loud when I turn it on. If it tap it, the noise goes down. I will keep you updated. 2/24 the noise is no longer an issue. Still working great. Love how quiet it is and the quality of the mist. My little girl is sick right now and it is helping a LOT. We must have got a faulty one. Motor stopped working BUT they are sending me a new base out in 10 days. Make sure to keep your receipt in case of a faulty product. Very impressed with the company.

I've owned this humidifier for a little over a year now, and it's never let me down. The product description is a little lackluster though. I wouldn't use this in a room that's over 500 sq ft. It worked great in my bedroom last winter, but I have an open floor studio apartment now (around 7-750 sq ft) and it's just not enough. Even with refilling it twice a day and having it run 24/7 the humidity level in the air has never been above 40% (and that was on a warm, rainy day).

Very quiet operation, when turned up all the way the most you will hear is a slight "trickling" noise from the ultrasonic waves splashing the water around.

Make sure the surface you put it on is level. Even a slight bit off can cause it to leak water.

In the past I've needed to buy on average a new humidifier each winter because they're always cheap and crap out, not so with this one. Overall the merits of this humidifier vastly out weigh my complaints.

I enjoy the absence of the whirring sound that my old humidifier had and the lack of a filter to get moldy is great. The first two nights I had issues with the area on the table and floor underneath and around the humifier getting completely soaked with water and thought I would have to return it until I realized that the directional nozzle that fits on the top of the tank had fallen on the floor when I opened it. I decided to try it one more time with the nozzle on the top and that resolved the soaking issue. If I run it at full blast it doesn't last the whole night but it works just fine at about 60% output. You can't refill it at a typical bathroom sink because of the height of the tank but I keep a water bottle handy and it does the trick. No real complaints. Its not fabulous but suits my needs and is offered at a good price.

I bought this to replace a larger whole-house style humidifier and ultimately it was disappointing.

Pros:

Quiet enough not to disturb baby

Ability to aim mist from top (it turns to direct mist)

Tank is not heavy and could be filled in bathroom sink

Bottom base, easy to clean (not easy to clean water tank)

Tight seal on bottom of tank

No filters to replace (though does require those useless protect cartridges)

Cons:

If you don't leave some water in the base (walk it carefully back to your room), when you load the water tank onto the clean, empty base about 1/3 of the water in the tank is immediately "lost" so you have to refill the tank again to make it through the night

Impossible to clean water tank (despite soaking with bleach and vinegar) we had nasty pink stuff growing and it couldn't be reached soaking in vinegar didn't work, neither did the bleach

Plastic was flimsy tank cracked in the middle of the second winter (though I was washing this thing every single day and did my best to be gentle and not bang it on the sink while attempting to reach the mold inside)

For the $25 I paid, it got me through a winter and I learned a valuable lesson about "cool mist" humidifiers AVOID. I actually ended up writing a review today because I was researching safety of these types of units and as it turns out, cool mist humidifiers have the potential to cause some real harm by spreading microbes and minerals from the water into the air. My next purchase will be a "warm mist" humidifier, with a UV light.

I bought one of these at the start of last winter. Worked like a champ all winter. Light cleaning each week, using only filtered water and so far so good. Currently in use for the second winter and love having it!

Earth Mama Angel Baby, Bottom Balm

Earth Mama Angel Baby Angel Baby Bottom Balm, 2-Ounce JarThe earth momma baby balm is as good to my child's irritation as Motherlove nipple cream (Motherlove Nipple Cream + FREE Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion Fragrance Free 8 oz.) is to aching mothers. I can't live without either of them at this stage in the game. My little girl is about 7 months old. Between all the soiled diapers and all the feedings, we both get crabby. The balm is all natural and based on olive oil which is very soothing. I trust it above a lot of other products on the market because it's safer in my eyes.

The baby bottom balm works well if you apply it after every diaper change but without going overboard. Oily products can leave a slippery residue which can irritate further. Be sure you're conscious of that. As far as the nipple cream goes, it's a must have for breastfeeding mothers. My nipples get so dry and cracked that I literally winced throughout the day until I found this stuff. A thin layer after feedings and before bed and I'm in the clear. Safe for me, safe for my baby.

We use this product on our 8-month-old daughter. She is allergic to zinc oxide (and we refuse to use anything containing petroleum byproducts) and has very sensitive skin. Therefore, there are very few products that we are able to use on her. Of the products we have tried, this is one of the few that worked. This product is truly amazing!

Diaper Area Experience:

My daughter had a really bad yeast rash that we used coconut oil to heal (highly recommend Bronner's Magic All-One Coconut Oil Org Fresh-Pressed Virgin Whole Kernel Unrefined 14 fl oz.). After the bumps were gone, the redness remained. This cleared up the redness in less than 24 hours. We also use it for the redness on her bum after she goes poo. The redness is always gone within the hour.

*We use cloth diapers most of the time. This product is cloth diaper safe, and comes highly recommended on several cloth diapering websites.

Wind Burn Experience:

I put this on my daughter's cheeks before we leave the house to prevent windburn, and it works very well. We were using Babyganics Healin Groovy Protective Ointment, Tube, 3.25-Ounce (Pack of 2), but it didn't seem to help very much.

Vick's Vapor Rub Alternative:

As I mentioned above, we don't like using petroleum byproducts. This is a great alternative to Vick's Vapor Rub. The scent is just strong enough. I like using it in conjunction with Hyland's Homeopathic Teething Tablets 100% Natural Symptomatic Relief for Teething in Children 135 Tablets when my daughter is having a hard time falling asleep due to teething.

BOTTOM LINE:

This is a safe, multifunctional product (cuts down on the amount of products in the diaper bag/nursery/changing table/medicine cabinet) that is perfect for babies with sensitive skin, babies using cloth diapers, and babies of parents who are trying to use more natural products.

*I have read that this product may also be used on cuts/scrapes as a healing balm, but I have not tried it. When I do, I will update my review.

Buy Earth Mama Angel Baby, Bottom Balm Now

I bought this as a gift, but I will be buying some for me. Not that I have a baby, but just so I can use for my hands, and my children's eczema. Very tiny container, but it goes a LONG way. Bought because I bought cloth diapers for my baby sister and her baby. And you can't use "normal" diaper rash treatment.

Love the smell and that it's natural and organic, but when it comes to diaper rashes it doesn't seem to work well for us. Desitin helps immediately and usually will clear up a rash in a day for my kids.

Want Earth Mama Angel Baby, Bottom Balm Discount?

First off I will say that I use cloth diapers so my options for diaper cream is limited. When she was younger (under 1 year) I didn't know any better so I was using Desitin. Her rashes never went away and I ruined my diapers. I started smelling an odd fishlike smell even when they were clean and they stopping wicking the urine. It took a very long process of stripping my diapers (more than once) to get that out. Eventually, after reading up on it, I realized I had to use a cloth diaper safe cream and Angel Baby Bottom had the best reviews everywhere. Also, my local cloth diaper store recommended it. So far, it has worked the best for me. So well in fact, that my daycare has recommended it to all the moms and many moms have switched with success! My baby's bottom is super sensitive where she will wake up with a poopy diaper and immediately have a rash, every time. This stuff clears it up in one day instantly, always. I love it! It's like a miracle cream. Also it smells natural and clean. I will say that if her rash seems to start getting pretty bad, I will combine Triple Paste with Angle Baby Bottom in her nighttime diaper and in the morning, it's always gone. At night I put her in a disposable so I have no worries using Triple Paste at night. If I used disposbles, Triple Paste is one cream I would also recommend. I should mention, one time her diaper rash got so bad and nothing was working. I knew something else was wrong. I took her to the doctor and sure enough, she had a yeast rash, which is very common and will not go away when treated with any normal diaper creams. You can also use Angel Baby Bottom cream for any minor cuts or scrapes. They will heal right up!

CalaGel Antiseptic Gel, First Aid, Maximum Strength, 6 oz.

CalaGel Antiseptic Gel, First Aid, Maximum Strength, 6 oz.Calagel is a tremendously helpful product that has kept me afloat throughout my lifelong battle with severe atopic dermatitis and numerous bouts of itchy hives and/or oozing, cracked and infected dry skin. Calagel is my number one and immediate treatment for relief, and I am so grateful that I have come across this product. It alleviates the intense, hot and itchy patches on my skin, which would often make their way to my face and neck swelling my skin and essentially, turn me into an itching lunatic.

Calagel contains the same active ingredient as found in Benadryl (Diphenylhydramine) along with menthol (analgesic; itch reliever), and other ingredients necessary to reduce the inflammation and prevent infection. It is not messy at all and a small amount of it covers a large portion of effected skin. It has a fairly weak odor.

Calagel has been a wonderful amenity to have with me, whenever I may be at or out of home in case my skin contact and food allergies present a reaction. In no way, should this product be used as a primary treatment for severe anaphylaxis, which should be treated by an emergency medical professional, but Calagel is your answer to everything else. It's other uses for poison ivy and sumac irritations only act as icing to the cake.

In other words, I recommend Calagel to anyone with itching, hives (uticaria), or skin contact allergy issues. This product will be an excellent resource, whether on vacation or at home, to counter those itchy and irritating reactions!!

This is now our number 1 go to salve. This product works better than any other we have used. It works better than expected and everyone should have a bottle handy if you have any itching issues. The product is clear odorless with soothing lasting satisfaction. Throw out the pink stuff this is the end all beat all anti itch product.

Buy CalaGel Antiseptic Gel, First Aid, Maximum Strength, 6 oz. Now

I'm one of those lucky ones that really is sensitive to poison ivy (or oak or sumac, take your pick). The urishol oil spreads like wildfire on my skin. At the moment, I use 3 different products, two made by Tec, like the one here.

Pro:

-Great for itch relief, feels cool to the touch... aaah, feels so good!

-Lifts/traps irritant oils as it slowly dries

-Also claims that it also has antiseptic properties, so if you've scratched you can try to avoid an infection

-Been around for years, at least it was on the shelves in 2001 when I first purchased Calagel

-Light odor and no discoloration of skin or clothes... no "pink stuff" like Mom's old-fashioned product

-Cap is well-designed and does not leak if I take it with me on the road

-If you look carefully, you get a free trial-size sample of "Tecnu" bundled with this Calagel package

Con:

-None to report

Bottom line: Highly recommended. Been using it since 2001 and I love it. I use it about every 3 hours and apply it several times in a row if needed. Once it starts itching, it's harder to stop it, so do it more often. See our other poison ivy relief favorites.

Medline Grab Bar

Medline 12 Inch Grab Bar, Knurled ChromeGreetings.

I purchased 3 of these Medline Knurled Chrome grab bars(2-24" and 1-32") for my father. I needed the "knurled" feature as these are for the shower stall, and thus needed the texturized grip.

The knurled part of the bar has excelent grip in both wet and dry conditions, and each bar comes with 6-2" wood screws and 2 white rubber installation-end-gaskets to cushion the bar against the wall for installation. They do not come with the plastic anchors for the screws that you need for installation into a concrete wall, those will have to be purchased seperately.

That being said, it's a bar that doesn't stick out too far from the wall, just about 3" (this is important if you have a small-to-medium sized stall, as the bars will reduce the space to move within the stall by anywhere from 3-5" in most cases, PER each side of the stall having a bar). Continuing,.....it's a bar, it works, it looks 1/2 way decent, it does its job quite well and it was/is relatively cheap via Amazon with the Free Super Saver Shipping feature.

The only complaints I have with the bars, are not so much with the actual bars themselves, but rather with two facts.

Fact one: Each bar comes in its own retail box, true, but, during the mailing of the product, Medline packaged each retail box seperately in a HUGE carton shipping box, with lots and lots of padding, so I received 3 incredibly huge-for-the-content and overly stuffed (paper stuffing too) carton boxes. This may seem like a pet-pieve but this just seems senseless for a company to do, especially when the object is to save money when you're shipping for FREE (they tripled their shipping costs and tripled their consumption of paper based shipping materials), and especially when all of the bars were ordered form the same vendor in the same order at the same time, and when part of the FSSS feature is to have the items come in as few shipments as possible. It just seems ecologically unfriendly for the times.

Fact two: The Medline bars, both the 24" and the 32" are advertised as 1.5" knurled diameter bars, but what I received was 3 bars of 1.25" (0.25" smaller) knurled diameter bars (stated on the retail box). I could see maybe one of three bars or maybe the 2 bars of 24" being the lesser-than-advertised diameter, as maybe they were out of stock, but all three? Somebody made a typo on the Amazon description page. I now live outside the continental 48 and it'd be too expensive to send these back up, so I'll just have to live with someone else's mistake. (Thankfully my father has smaller hands than me, so maybe this was supposed to be, but still......advertise it correctly or get the order right, otherwise don't send it out I say).

Thus based on those two facts, the bars get 4 stars, and not 5, for their rating. Then again, shipping was FREE, so what am I complaining about?...lol... you get the picture.

Ok, that's it, hope this helps you. Cheers!

Medline makes very solid knurled "grab bars" for the bathtub or shower; and these truly come in handy--even if you're not disabled. The knurled finish simply means that there are small ridges on the actual bar to help you hold onto the bar even when your hands are wet; and it's a big plus to have this bar to hold onto when you're getting in or out of the bathtub or the shower. The rubber pads do indeed come with this bar and so far the screws that came with this product have definitely been rust resistant. Great!

Another reviewer writes that they were annoyed by the way these bars are packed for shipping. Unfortunately, however, it's really the best way to send these through the mail. The sturdy and thick packaging prevents damage to the bars while post office employees throw your package all over the place. Moreover, the extra packaging prevents again damage to the bars as the box containing them gets bumped around on a postal tractor trailer truck or in the crate bin of an airplane.

On the plus side again, these bars hold my weight which, although it's more than I'd like it to be, is thankfully less than 250 pounds so I feel quite safe using them for support in the tub. It's good to be able to take a shower in the bathtub and hold onto this bar while I turn around in the shower so that I don't slip and fall. I suppose if you use these bars in the bathtub strictly for helping you to take a bath safely then you may want to attach the bar a bit lower so that you can reach it. If you have a rather small shower stall is very the bar could limit your space; but you'd really have to have a small shower stall since these safety bars don't stick out much more than 3 inches.

I honestly can't think of a single negative thing to say about these safety bars. My handyman was able to do the installation very quickly and that's another plus. I highly recommend these grab bars for the bath or shower by Medline.

Buy Medline Grab Bar Now

We had several Medline knurled chrome grab bars installed in our shower for safety since I am a polio survivor who needs to be careful about falls. Our handyman had an easy time installing them (both vertically and horizontally on all sides of the shower) and they've been a great boon. The knurling makes them safe to grip even when your hands are soapy and they anchored very securely to the wall behind the shower tiles with the included screws after holes were drilled into the tiles.

Read Best Reviews of Medline Grab Bar Here

As far as it goes, the grab bar is a good product. It's solid and appears well made -but the design is very deficient. Most homes built in certainly the last fifty years have 16" on-center studs -it's a building code requirement. So, a grab bar that will work in a normal home -even if it's called a 32" grab bar -needs to be somewhat like the dimensional lumber we now have: it's called a 2X4 but it's really a 1.75X3.5 piece of wood. Similarly, the 32" grab bar needs to be shorter than a full 32 inches in order that the outside (centered) screw holes actually grab some of the stud wood that they are supposed to be anchored to. I have seen some outrageously expensive designs which have variable screw holes (some as many as nine) so you can position your anchoring screws into the stud and not outside it. But that's an expensive and unnecessary luxury. It would be just as easy to make the 32" grab bar a 31" bar and move the upper and lower screw holes about 1/2" from their existing locations and you would have an exceptional product that would anchor into 16" on-center studs.

I have lately got to the age where I am a bit unsteady and need safety bars in my bathroom. After breaking my foot slipping while getting out of the tub, and having to wear a cast for a month, it was time so I finally bought this product, the 32" bar in white, and also two smaller bars, two of the 12" bars. Easy to install with my cordless screwdriver. Plenty of screws come with the product and also gaskets to keep water from getting under the edge of the bar. The bars look great (white, in my green and white bathroom) and I feel more secure holding onto my bars which are mounted so securely that I can put my full weight onto them. My conclusion is that these safety bars are a wise investment and they look fine as well. Recommended for all. Get them before you fall and break something like I did. I'm lucky only breaking my foot.
