My dog has a sort of allergy problem that causes the folds in his mouth to become infected and scabby. Several vets have recommended that we clean his mouth daily with a povidone-iodine solution. I first bought the Betadine Solution, Antiseptic, 8 fl oz, which worked well, but thought that I would try this brand because it was much cheaper than the Betadine Solution, Antiseptic, 8 fl oz and we go through so much of the stuff.

I know another reviewer on here has said that this product worked fine for her dog, but I would recommend sticking with the Betadine brand.

This product seems to have different inactive ingredients, it has a soapy consistency, which for us was a problem.

My dogs scabs have become worse since using this particular brand, and I know that this was not the case with the Betadine Solution, Antiseptic, 8 fl oz, which seemed to keep the problem to a minimum.

While I am disappointed, because this seems to have almost the same percentage of povidone-iodine, the soapiness of this product, and the fact that his scabs appear to have become much worse means that I will go back to purchasing the Betadine brand formula.

If you're using this for something else, like disinfecting surfaces, I'm sure this product would be perfectly fine!

Our dog has "lick granuloma" and nothing has really broken her of the habit of licking the top of her back paw. At least we like to make sure she stays infection free. Our vet had some povidone iodine scrub solution, but it cost twice as much as your product. Yours works just fine. Doggie is infection free and we save money. Win, win!
