Grabber Outdoors Stainless Steel Adjustable Pocket Stove With 8 Fuel Tabs

Grabber Outdoors Stainless Steel Adjustable Pocket Stove With 8 Fuel TabsAwesome little stove for the price. lightweight and yet sturdy. definitely has founda home in both Camping and my Bug out bag. ordering a second one so that there will be a unit in both bags. definitely recommend it to friends. a wise choice and inexpesnive to boot.

For many years, I've used Esbit / hexamine fuel tabs with a similar folding stove. It's not my primary heat source, but rather I use it for times I need a little quick fire, or to get larger fires started. One tab is enough to get 2 cups of water boiling, in most weather conditions. The stove works fairly well with most mess kit items. But, I more regularly use parts of a tab as tinder to get larger sticks going, so I build a bigger fire. I can cook larger things on the large fire, and then I'll move some coals to the folding stove to heat up smaller items, or put hot rocks into it for portable heat. The stove isn't all that rugged, but it holds up better than my improvised soda can stoves, and packs up very nicely (you can fit 4 tabs in the stove when it's folded). I've also used trioxane, but the Esbit / hexamine tabs burn cleaner and hotter for longer, and are easier to find deals on. For casual trips, where I don't need a big fire, don't carry any kind of gas fuel, sticks may not be plentiful, or I just need to heat up some coffee or a freeze dried meal the combination of this stove, one hexamine tab and a steel cup works perfectly for me. At such a low price, I won't feel guilty using up the tabs, or if the stove gets a little beat up.

My only problem is that the tablets smell but I bought it for functionality not smell and they are very functional. I lit the fire place using one tablet just to test it and have a roaring fire in the fire place as I type this. The stove is very good too. If your going to use it for camping you might want to take some type of wind protector if you are in a windy area. I highly recommend this product and it doesn't weigh anything if you want to throw it in your pack like I am doing.

Not a bad heat for the price, it is actualy pretty sturdy. It will lock open in two differant positions to heat a smaller cut of water or a small pot. The only concern I have is that the fire may not stay lit on a windy day, I haven't had one yet to test it.
