You just never know when a situation will present itself requiring application of heat or cold. Mrs. Spudman had some cortisone shots and was advised to used ice on the site for pain relief. Not being prepared and having no ice in the freezer, she put some frozen brussel sprouts on the site. I then remembered having bought some ice packs many months ago. We found the Thera-Med ice packs in the bottom of a closet and put them to use.These things are fabulous. Just squeeze to break an inner seal, shake for a few seconds, and then apply. It's amazing how quickly the pack becomes ice cold. Now that these two have been used up, I'll be buying more to have on hand for the next unexpected event.
The instant cold pack is much more comfortable than a bag of ice or even a bag of frozen brussel sprouts.
