These are really great when you don't want to be hooked to the electric heating pad. Just pop it in the microwave for about a minute and a half and it stays warm for about 30-45 minutes. It also can be wrapped around your arm, leg etc. and attached with the velcro ends.

This is just perfect for aches and pains. Heats up in a minute or two and lasts for a long time. Perfect for your back or neck while sitting in a chair watching tv or reading! Can't get this in the stores...so glad I found it on Amazon.com!!

For my knees I have found that cold therapy works very well but I wanted to try heat therapy so I purchased two of these pads. I wish I hadn't. They are not bad but I ended up purchasing two electric heating pads and I regularly use those so these hot packs are simply put away somewhere in a closet. They can be secured in place around the knees, ankles, wrists and they stay hot for about 20-25 minutes after heating it up in the microwave for about 1 minute. If you don't want to stay connected to an electric heating pad then give these a try, otherwise just stick to the electric heating pads that actually work infinitely better because they stay hot longer.

The pad heats up great and provides the heat needed. The only issue is with the cloth cover. It is difficult to fasten the strap snug. Also, since there are two 1" strips on the brown part, if you move around at all it can come lose. I threw away the cover and used one that has a strap that is the same width as the heating pad. It stays one very snug now.
