First let me state that in no way was i expecting surgical grade items. At this price you wouldn't be able to get one tool at that grade for this price. With that said i'll move on to my quick review.

The item was shipped in a priority mail envelope (the kind you ship paperwork in) and was mangled by the time i received it. The item wasn't damaged, but doesn't the vendor realize that the USPS will provide you with FREE priority mail boxes!!!

The case itself holds all of the tools fairly well but is on the cheap side. It is made of vinyl and is on par with the cases you get with those inexpensive manicure kits, also mine was a burgandy color, not black.

You get a good assortment of instruments. I won;t go though them all but they cover pretty much any thing you would need in an emergency. The shipper also includes a pair of bandage shears, great! The only tool it doesn't have that you might like are sutre removal shears, but they are easy to find here in amazon for a few dollars. Some of the items you may never have use of, and can be removed to make room for other things. The instruments are either not...,or of very low quality stainless steel. No place on any tool does it state "stainless" or county of origin. Certainly not stainless!! Even the scalple blades are carbon steel, not stainless!! I would suggest that if you plan to use these in an emergency situation, make sure they are clean and the use a handheld Verilux sanitizing wand to sterilize them as best as possible. best you can do with non-surgical grade tools.

To sum up,.. It is actually a very nice kit for the money. You won't find anything out there like this at this price. I can't expect that anyone would be disappointed with this kit, unless they are expecting surgical grade instruments in a leather case at this price!!!

I was not expecting high quality, but keep in mind, this set is "you get what you pay for".

Order processing and shipping was prompt, no issues at all with seller.

They come from the *file to fit* school of manufacturing, what one is used to seeing out of Pakistan(which these are) and or cheap China.

Curved hemostats do not fully close due to poorly cut teeth, tweezers do align properly, rough ground, rough edges.

Most still had debris from grinding in the form of black greasy substance in jaws.

Enough parts that can be salvaged to make the purchase worthwhile, and the rest can go in my toolbox for general purpose small tool use.

As another reviewed my case is burgundy, not black, and of very cheap construction as well.

Final verdict, need a frog dissection kit, good buy, looking to augment a home medical kit... Pray you never get that desperate.

This is one of those "you get what you pay for" buys. I was actually looking for the clamps in the kit when I ran across the set on sale and decided to purchase it. Needless to say the clamps do not clamp and the package as a whole is poor quality.

I will state first that I have not purchased this kit. Nor will I ever. As one review noted, the entire kit costs less than one instrument usually costs. I actually am a surgeon and can tell you that just one pair of entry-quality hemostats is about $50 and good quality about $75. You can spend twice this if you wish to get fancy. The price of this kit is a dead give-away that the scissors will not cut well and will lose their edge instantly, that the hemostats will not line up properly and not clamp down on a vessel well, that the tissue forceps will not perform adequately and that the overall quality is not even at a minimum to perform the even the simplest of procedures. Even the throwaway suture kits at the local ER are of a higher quality than what this appears to be. The point I wish to make is that anyone buying this kit with the delusion that they will be prepared to respond when the SHTF will be sorely disapointed with the poor quality. You don't need an entire kit unless you have the skill set to use it; buy a few entry-quality instruments that you know you can use. You are going to go through the effort to learn about doing these simple first-aid skillsdon't negate your skills with junk materials. I suggest a blade holder, a good needle holder about 5" long, a few curved hemostats that have beaks that line up perfectly (to clamp bleeding vessels), a Dean suture scissors (5" long and angled), a tissue scissorsIris or Metzenbaum (3-4" long) and a tissue pick up like an Adson forceps (teeth-tipped tweezers). If you have some basic surgical ability this is the minimum you will need to suture superficial wounds and scalp lacs. Your family dentist is likely willing to lend a package and the use of their autoclave so they are sterile and ready to rock when you need them. Don't forget the sutures, steri-strips and prep swabs as well as dressings for your work. I hope this is helpful and I hope that nobody gets fooled into thinking that this kit will do anything for them.

Set is exactly as seen.....but mine looks used and rusted. Would'nt but it again or reccommend it to anyone else.
