Aircast A60 Ankle Support

Aircast A60 Ankle Support - Black, Left, LargeThis is one of those easy purchases that you almost completely forget about, because it's so trouble free. But the real value is in the wearing. I had sprained my ankle pretty badly playing soccer and was almost reluctant to get back out on the pitch. The AirCast A60 was recommended to me by my physical therapist. I ordered it from Amazon just two days prior to game day, and it arrived in time. I took it out of the box on my way to field and put it on just before the match started. It went on easily, but did make my boot feel a bit snug. I instantly felt the extra support that my freshly recovered ankle needed. Just a minute into the match I found myself running full tilt, and realized how well it was doing its job. This brace is so light that I only knew that I had it on because I was conscious that it gave me as much moral support as ankle support. After a couple of weeks back on the team I'm considering not wearing it anymore because my ankle is feeling pretty good. But, this brace is so unobtrusive, I think I'll keep the moral support for another week or two. I certainly recommend the AirCast A60 as a great buy.

I have sprained my ankle several times over the past month. After the first sprain I started wearing an elastic brace. It was very comfortable but didn't keep me from twisting my weak ankle again. This brace is great. It gives great support and allows me to walk at a normal pace again. My only complaint is that it's a little bulky so I can only wear it with clogs, but I suppose that's the price I pay to avoid repeat ankle injury. I would definitely recommend it. It's easy to put on and not too stuffy.

I purchased this brace for suport because it stated that it was a good choice for shin pain and tendonitis...it isn't. This thing provides excellent lateral support and ankle support, but if you are looking for a brace that provides compression to the shin as well, look to the lace up models.

After twisting my right ankle three times in less that a year, I needed to find a brace that I could wear for long walks and Zumba classes. While waiting for this to arrive I used a Spenco lace up support, which was fine, but the Aircast is much lighter and fits better in my shoe. I wore this brace for an hour Zumba class the other day and while it took some getting used to at the outset I was able to forget I was wearing it halfway through the class. The fabric breathes well (much better than the Spenco) and allows for full range of front-to-back motion while still preventing roll-overs.

My one complaint is about the sizing; I ordered the small based on the shoe size range that the guidelines list, and while it fit my foot well, the strap that wraps around the ankle and shin was about 2" too short. Luckily I am an experienced seamstress, so I was able to alter the straps, but otherwise I would have needed to return it for the medium (which may not have fit my foot so well).

I was using an Aircast Airsport for several years but found it bulky with some hiking boots. I switched to the A60 and find it lighter but with great support.
