Oralflo Pill Swallowing Cup

I have a teenage daughter that has/had major anxiety when it comes to pills. She absolutely REFUSED to swallow any type of pill. We had tried many techniques, even at an early age & nothing worked. Even during her menstrual cycle she would take children's liquid ibuprofen or just suffer with the effects of horrible cramping, rather than taking a pill. Recently, she was prescribed pills as a way to combat acne. Thinking that would be enough of a motivator to swallow a pill, but alas it was not. She had a major melt down. I only wish I had it a few years ago when we spent $100's of $$ on pills that went to waste. Oh well, we have it now!!!

I'm a 36 year old woman who has never been able to swallow a pill my entire life. Doesn't matter the size, I couldn't swallow it. On the rare occasion I have absolutely *had* to take a pill, I have used a pill crusher to crush it (but I know there are pills that cannot be crushed). I also cannot swallow many food items such as fruit and vegetables skins, small seeds (like the ones in "seedless" watermellon and the almost non-existent ones in "seedless" grapes). I have to use a child's toothbrush because of my tremendous gag reflex, and I still gag on it when brushing my teeth. I have avoided going to doctors and dentists for years out of sheer terror they would prescribe me a pill I *had* to take that couldn't be crushed, and I had no idea what I would do if that ever happened. Well I gave in and went to see a doctor and, of course, she prescribed me a couple pills one I will have to take every day for the rest of my life. I had a complete meltdown about this of course. And then I ordered the Oralflo cup (which I have nicknamed my pill sippy cup). I seriously had my doubts when it came in the mail. It really looked ridiculous. But I tried it and...THE PILL WENT DOWN! I didn't even feel it. I have no idea how or why this device works but it does it really does! You have to be very careful about not overfilling it (the directions clearly say this and they mean it cause otherwise you will end up with a face and nose full of water! But I can now swallow pills, and I don't have to dread some diagnosis someday where they tell me I have to take something that can't be crushed or I'll die. No, I'm not a company rep. I am the same skeptic many of you reading this probably are. Why it didn't work for some of the reviewers here I can't say for certain. But it worked for me when nothing ever did. It's a small investment to make for a truly life altering product. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Update: I would still give this product more than 5 stars....perhaps 100...even though I don't need to use it anymore. This devise actually taught me how to swallow pills. I can now swallow them without the Oralflo cup handfuls of pills, any size, doesn't matter. I no longer have issues swallowing certain foods either. All because this little sippy cup taught me how to swallow. I know that may sound ridiculous but it's true. My husband just told me how relieved he is that he now does not have to worry that I will not be able to take some necessary drug I need in life. I just sent him to the store to buy me some pills since I have a cold. I used to have to drink nasty liquid medicines yuck. Yea for pills! Yea for Oralflo!

This is extremely easy to use -follow the instructions to the letter. Not too much liquid/only fill the cup half way put the pill in the spout and drink normally. The pill goes down. You may need to practice a few times. After about a month, I tried without the "trainer" and low and behold after years and years of chewing pills and taking liquid meds I can now swallow pills. This is a life changing product and clearly worth a serious try for any adult or older child who is having trouble swallowing pills.

I developed hand eczema in my late 30's and suffered with it for four years. My flare-ups would range from mild to sever almost debilitating. I tried just about every treatment available, prescription, non-prescription, home remedy, you name it. Some would work for a while, like hydrocortisone creams and Protopic, but eventually I would build up a tolerance and they were ineffective. Currently I take about half of the recommended dose, but will increase the dose when needed (which is rare). Overall I am very satisfied with this product; if you are desperate, like I was, I would recommend giving it a shot.

Our children have eczema to varying degrees. One has extremely severe eczema all over and the other has it more mildly and more localized.

Both have had all types of treatments, medications, ointments, etc.

This product has had zero effect on both. There was no reduction in the amount or severity of the eczema both aesthetically or rash wise.

I have been taking this product for about a month now. I have to say, my hand eczema (Dyshidrotic Eczema) was almost debilitating at times. The itchy rash/blisters would eventually crack open and bleed just at extending my hands to work. As a nurse, this was a huge problem because I have to wash my hands a lot. This product has been an angel in my life as all other treatments except kenalog injections were useless. I now have very little itching, very rare rash, less than inch at best! My hands no longer crack open and bleed. With this being said, I also use a moisturizing lotion with ceramides in it because my hands are still rough and dry at times. This is the third large batch of this stuff I've ordered. It comes in a very convenient package that supplies enough for a bottle of water. It's great on the job and in summer heat especially for replenishing what you sweat out working. Each little packet is a plastic foil pack that you can put in your pocket without getting it soaked as you work. I find it does not create the stomach upset I often get with other "sports drinks" when consumed in large quantities. I've tried both the orange and mixed berry and like the flavor of both. No chemical or acidic after taste.

My only gripe is that you never know exactly what your ordering from the blasted descriptions they provide not an uncommon problem on Amazon. This case of 20 is actually 20 boxes of 10 individual packets. When I first read it, I thought it was ridiculously expensive to get 20 little packets at this price. It's actually 200 packets....and well worth it.

SOF Tourniquet (BLACK) - Generation II

First, let me say I have not had to/gotten to use this, yet. That being said, I think this tourniquet has everything an emergency responder (or anyone who knows how to use a tourniquet) would want. I especially like the redundant securing setup--you can use the triangular "rings" to secure the "winder", and you can also tighten the set screw to hold the strap in place once the tourniquet has been successfully placed into postion. I would personally attempt to use both, but I believe the set screw will hold by itself. The price of this unit is a couple more bucks than Gen 1, but I believe having the set screw for extra peace of mind is well worth that couple bucks. There are fancier, more expensive units out there, but based on the tourniquets I've seen, I believe this one is the best one all around, so far.

I purchased this product several weeks ago and have trained with it several times. For all you big guys out there like me (6'5'' 245) have no fear this tourniquet will fit around even the most meaty of thighs. The quality is amazing, the learning curve super easy and the shipping was super fast. If your job or your lifestyle takes you to where you might need a tourniquet, buy this one and rest easily.

This is a great item in terms of its function. Each individual must decide whether it is appropriate for their medical kit. It is not the least bulky of items and it is not the lightest. But if you are in a situation where profuse appendage exsanguination is probable, this is a lifesaver, literally. If that is not likely, you can probably do well with cravat bandages and a "found" windlass.

Medique 745M1 3-Shelf Industrial Side-Opening First Aid Cabinet, Filled

Amazon, which gets it right 99.99% of the time in my experience, blew it on this one. The Medique 3-Shelf Industrial Side-Opening [?] First Aid Cabinet, Model 745M1, that I received was short five items. [What's with the "Side-Opening" flourish? How else would it open?] Five of the pockets in the door were empty. I've uploaded a picture of what I received. No, the contents of these five pockets had not shifted. The contents were simply not there. Nowhere in the case and nowhere in the package.

Amazon does not provide an inventory of the contents of the case, so I'm not sure what I'm missing, nor its value. However, from Amazon's photograph, it appears I'm missing the forceps, sterile gauze pads, and three additional kinds of packets whose labels I can't discern.

Incidentally, Amazon's picture of the product constitutes an express warranty by sample. Since the one I received substantially falls short of the sample, Amazon breached its warranty. So why not just return it? Amazon's great on returns. But you can't return this item, although you wouldn't know it from the product description. There's no notice that it can't be returned, at least not when you buy with 1-Click, as I did. When I tried to return it, Amazon displayed this message:

"For safety reasons, items that are classified as hazardous materials or use flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned to Amazon.com. Customers should dispose of hazardous materials according to Local, State and Federal regulations. Customers should contact their local government or local waste company for directions on how to dispose of Household Hazardous Waste."

Followed by an invitation to continue shopping, since you can't proceed with a return.

Hazardous materials, hazardous waste? I thought I was buying a first aid kit.

So what did I get? First of all, a cabinet built like the proverbial brick outhouse. It's made of steel, powder-coat painted white. The door is attached on the left side with a piano hinge (Side-Opening!), and held shut on the right with two secure wire latches. There's a good handle on the top. This thing is well built and must account for a substantial part of the price of the kit, even if made in China. Five stars for the case!

As for the contents, there's a lot of stuff even in my shorted kit and much of it looks useful and even reassuring. One box says "Pain Relief." Good. I know nothing about medicine or even first aid, except for the odd piece of lore--probably wrong--retained from my Boy Scout training six decades ago. Fortunately, my kit includes a Pocket Reference Guide published by the American Safety & Health Institute. This has good first aid advice, I trust, but it's not geared to the Medique kit, so I don't know whether there's something in the kit for each procedure described in the booklet. I would assume not. The kit includes tweezers, but they're made of plastic. I wonder what plastic tweezers are good for.

Bizarrely, a large peel-off decal (13" x 10") identifying the cabinet as First Aid related was included but not affixed to the cabinet. It's a bugger putting this on straight, without bubbles. I guess the Chinese want to leave us something to do. Thanks a lot.

This first aid cabinet is perfect for our office. There are 30 people here, and we are totally set if anyone gets stuff in their eyes, cuts, splinters, burns, headaches, you name it.

I can't wait to get poked in the eye so that I can use an eye pad! Wheee!

I bought this item and the cabinet was damaged, dinged in the back so its not flush & can't be wall mounted plus the door is bent, so it won't close neatly. Also, the contents didn't match the picture on the website (no scissors and several of the plastic pouches were empty).

Since the packaging it came in was unblemished, it left the packing facility this way. A person packed this case and would have seen how beat-up it was. From the reviews on this site, it seems the quality control on this item is very hit-n-miss.

I contacted Amazon and they gave me a US$30.00 partial refund as they would not accept a return. Since I bought this item specifically because I wanted the cabinet, that was appreciated but didn't address my need. Guess I'll be shopping for a cabinet at a brick-n-morter store.

I ordered this product not really expecting much, but for the price I figured I didn't have much to lose. I get fever blisters on the corner of my mouth and have for years. I have a permanent scar/dark spot on about 1/3 of my chin from these. This product is sturdy and well designed. The top is securely attached to the bottom with a threaded knob. You can put sand in the base to keep it from blowing over in a strong wind. There is a special hole near the ground where you can attach a padlock and chain to keep it in place. The metal bucket inside is large and substantial. This receptacle exceeded my expectations in ALL respects. It has almost completely solved the problem we had with dozens of butts on the ground outside the building.

I've used the pink 3B tape with awesome results (stuck very well and stayed in place on runs over 4 hours), but with the green, I've been really disappointed. I've used many kinds of tape and this is the least expensive but it doesn't stick. In my mind I would rather pay the higher price for the other brands like StrengthTape or Rocktape.

Maybe it was not intended for this purpose but it is being promoted to real-time glucose sensor users. So, we had a reasonable expectation that it would cover the little gadget. Barely. Always had to use two of them. Even then, there would be a weird asymmetry and one side would be too close to the edge. However, the adhesive is really good; it holds well for 3 days.

I got 10 of these with my Medtronic CGM and, beside being too small, they start to lift in a very short time making them totally innefective for what they're intended, to keep my CGM dry. I used 2 this morning when I changed my sensor and they both came loose before I left the house for work.

Luckily I have a friend who wanted Bioclusive dressings and asked me to order her some at which time I accidentally ordered 2 boxes. Since she could only afford 1, I kept one. I'm glad I did now. Much better product if you can find and afford it.

I bought these to add to First Aid Kits at a school. The barrier is a thick plastic sheet with a hard plastic insert in the middle. Right out of the package, part of the plastic sheet is cracked at a fold. The insert is not a one-way valve, but does contain a filter. The lower portion of the insert is about 1 1/4" x 1 1/3" x 1/3" and is intended to be placed between the victim's teeth during CPR. On an adult this might work, but could cause delay placing the insert properly. My main concern would be in using this in a child's mouth, which would have more difficulty fitting between the teeth, and could also push back on the tongue. Overall, this is an inexpensive barrier that might work for adults, but a different design might be considered for all uses, especially for children.

Great inexpensive alternative to the insanely overpriced B$A stuff. These are single-use disposable barriers, but that's all you need for a portable/hiking first aid kit.

I bought these, at first, thinking they would be useful in the car, and in my purse. But then I find these are to be used for CPR manaquins. Even at that, I found them difficult to use in a class with the manquins. I didn't think they were worth the money. The one-way valve resuscitator masks are much better and safer.
