Lubricant eye drops are expensive and of the many preservative-free eye drops I have tried, Systane Ultra Lubricant Eye Drops Preservative-Free Vials, 0.4mL 24-count are by far the best for my money!I have chronic dry eye ever since getting shingles in my eye and also after a bout of optic neuritis. I suffer with a chronic illness that often effects my eyes and my opthamologist recommended I use lubricating eye drops, preservative-free only, several times a day and at bed-time. He gave me several samples to try and Systane was one of them. Of all the samples, Systane was my favorite.
With Systane there is no stinging, no stickiness, no blurriness. I feel comfort immediately and can resume reading promptly. Other drops can be too gel-like, causing a blurriness which lasts way too long for me. They are also very sticky, causing the eyelids to get crusty and stick together. Other drops sting and I am just too sensitive to deal with that discomfort, even though the stinging might not last very long.
Systane Ultra Lubricant Eye Drops Preservative-Free Vials, 0.4mL 24-count are not only the best eye drops for my chronic dry eye condition, but for my pocketbook as well. Been wearing contacts all my life and no eye drops have ever worked till my doctor gave me a sample of these WOW!! I couldn't believe how great they work!! If you have dry eye syndrome, Meibomian Dysfunction, have that gritty sandy feeling, get something in your eye or just want to refresh them then this is the product!! I've spent tons of money over the years on eye drops that do nothing but make my eyes feel worse or even more dry till these. They can be a bit expensive but I got a great deal here at Amazon.com!! BIG TIP -> If you have Meibomian Dysfunction take lots of Omega 3-6-9 and it CAN completely resolve itself and use these drops for the interim trust me, it DOES WORK!! (BTW, get the vials rather than the little bottles; it's much cleaner and healthier for your eyes!! Costs a bit more but it's way worth it and can you put any price on your those precious eyes of yours?!! :)I tried both of these and honestly, Systane IS better, however it does blur your vision for a couple of minutes after use. I use both, Systane when I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed and Refresh when I'm at work (since I'm in front of a computer for most of the day). These drops are a bit thicker than something like visine, but you might be familiar with these kind drops if you've used drops like thera tears before. These drops do a nice job of lubricating dry eyes, especially chronically dry eyes. I found myself using eyedrops several times a day, and my doc told me that if I use eyedrops more than a couple times a day, I should really be using preservative free drops or else it can actually exacerbate my dry eye problem.Overall these work pretty well, and each vial has enough drops for multiple uses and a cap to close the vial after you open it initially. It's not an airtight cap, but it'll allow you to use the vial later.
